Guest Reviews
- Jamie (1/5): CRAP! - DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE!!!
they’re liars and will NOT give you your money back. Terrible service and money crooks!
- David (10/5): -
- Vernon (8/5): Thoroughly enjoyable - Sadly not included Couldn't put my finger on anything that didn't meet our expectations
- david (8/5): -
- Antonija (7/5): Quite good for an overnight stay - We enjoyed the style and how well furnished the apartment was, and the location of the property. Check in and check out were very easy. The level of cleanliness wasn't satisfactory, there was dust on the bedside tables, floors were not hoovered and used glasses left by the kitchen sink. Also water in the shower was lukewarm which wasn't pleasant.
- Tim (1/5): A non-stay and a lucky escape from a crappy apartment. - It was situated to a rather pleasant pub which was useful as when we arrived we called up and we told that our stay had been cancelled. The cleaners hadn’t showed up. We had no prior warning.
We had still been receiving check-in and check out emails up until 11 o’clock that day. It’s not signed as Charles hope but periguine house and our code worked so it was definitely the right place. That name did not appear at all in emails we received. The rooms were stuffy and smaller than pictures suggested. We were glad in the end to have to relocate.
When we followed the instructions from staff at Charles Hope we spoke to Booking.com staff. A nice guy we spoke to cancelled our booking giving us a refund. And he said he would send a link so we could re book and if we were out of pocket they would pay the difference. Their suggestion was 4.7 km away! Within 5 minutes we found staff at the Mercure were very helpful and gave us two upgraded rooms for the same cost as our original booking but booked direct. She was a star.
Charles hope let us down by not cleaning the apartment. They let us down by not informing us immediately about the situation. As nice as he was the booking agent did not provide a suitable alternative when it took moments for us to work it out ourselves.
NOT HAPPY AT ALL!
- Harman (10/5): - Immaculate and modern apartment with plenty of room
- Nathan (8/5): -
- Sjöberg (10/5): -
- Kath (7/5): Very nice but needs a few practical improvements - Very nice furnished, stylish and clean. Good location. This property would easily be a 10/10 with a few basic functional improvements. The upstairs bedroom needs a mirror, and there should also be one in the upstairs bathroom. The bathroom also needs somewhere practical to hang towels. In addition, the blind in the upstairs bedroom is too transparent and should be replaced with a blackout or darker blind, as the early summer morning light comes through and woke us at 5am (summer visit)
- Richard (9/5): - Well equipped, good location, super clean Would have liked a tea towelling. Otherwise great for a two night stay
- Charlotte (8/5): Charming and clean apartment - In such a cute building - even sweeter than in the photos. Very comfortable clean bedding. Spotless kitchen and bathrooms. Pub next door also has great food. Nothing it was great.
- sarah (10/5): -
- Joanna (7/5): It’s the little things that make a big difference. No shower gel??? Not enough toilet paper for 2 nights. Curtains hangi - Great location Attention to detail
- Hongquan (9/5): Good experience. - Location is good, room is clean and tiny, stuff is very polite. If you don’t speak English, there is a little difficult.
- michael (8/5): - Modern, new good location , new, good instructions Shower water, wasn’t hot enough, the smelly stuff they used was awful. Bed linen was poor quality. No shampoo, poor light for cooking food. No toilet roll holder!!! BBC iPlayer didnt work on tv. This could of been a 10/10 with very little extra effort
- Geraldine (10/5): Fabulous Apartment - Lovely apartment in a quiet spot - facilities were great and of good quality. Immaculately clean. Lots of really useful information on iPad re the apartment and how to use heating/ kitchen appliances etc
Location - Easy 15 minutes walk from the station, 5 min walk to city centre. Supermarket 2 mins away and lots of food options within a few minutes walk. Perfect for a short break. Nothing we didn't like
- Carla (10/5): -
- Carla (10/5): -
- Wayne (7/5): Nice property, clean and a g - Good location, very clean Shower water pressure
No hot water, tap water and shower water just warm
Stair banister in communal area a little dangerous, if you place your hands under the rail the rectangular fixings are sharp
Need mirrors in the bedrooms
Need coat hooks

- Mergen (10/5): The apartment was really comfortable with excellent finishings - Everything was great. We have no complaints Nothing

- Haywood (9/5): - Beautifully appointed and great location
- Colin (10/5): -
- Wilson (10/5): Perfect place, wonderful staff - Nothing to complain about.I had to call twice and the staff on the phone was very professional and it sums up your the experience. As same as above
- Wilson (10/5): Beautiful place, wonderful customer service. - Everything All excelente
- Clare (9/5): -
- India (7/5): -
- Katie (9/5): -
- Angie (9/5): Comfortable, clean and quiet - Central location for town centre.
Apartment very modern with good facilities.
- Jodie (10/5): - Beautiful apartment, lovely and clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Located minutes away from shops.
- maggie (10/5): -
- Marvin (1/5): Absolutely shambolic - Nothing Everything. The whole experience from start to finish was horrendous. The hosts are gangsters and I will never stay again. They extort money from you.
- Robert (9/5): was as advertised. the only thing missing was a tumble dryer. - the location was perfect. everything near by. Parking was an issue; it cost us approximately AU$40+ per day for parking.
- Nathan Lee (10/5): -
- Roxanne (10/5): -
- Sophie (9/5): Super accommodation, location and good facilities - Superb accommodation, good facilities and a lovely location. Parking wasn’t on site but across the street and wasn’t expensive or too busy. Staff helpful when we needed help locating and accessing the property. Would recommend. We couldn’t find the address, then struggled with the correct door code. We called for help and were able to find the right door after a minute or two, and we just needed to add a hashtag to the code, which they will add to future texts/messages for guests, so no one should struggle.
- Maryna (10/5): - Very nice and very clean
- Sam (7/5): Very well located, clean, spacious, ambient but needs basic maintenance - Central location, modern design, spacious, great kitchen and walk in wardrobe A few maintenance issues that need sorting that would turn this review from good to excellent: TV remote didn’t work, smart TV doesn’t connect to the WiFi, no batteries in wall clock, WiFi dips in and out, broken bed slats so mattress sags in the middle, broken bin lid
- Paula (9/5): Cosy flat in the heart of Salisbury - Excellent location if you plan to visit the city centre, it has everything one needs for a nice stay.
Easy check in and check out.
Huge walk-in closet.
There was complementary coffee, teas and mince pies!
Paying Car park right in front of the flat. If you are in the downstairs flat and there is people upstairs you’ll definitely hear their steps.
The TV remote batteries had no power left so it was useless.
Car park not included.
- LEE (10/5): Excellent stay -
- Verona (5/5): - Easy check-in and clear instruction
Newly decorated stylish apartment
Polite representative on the customer support line both beds contained long hair on the pillows and pubic hair on the bedsheets, clearly indicating that the bedding had not been changed after previous guests. This issue was reported immediately. Photos and videos provided.
The initial response stated that it was impossible to change the sheets at that time and that it would be done first thing in the morning. This was later changed to 11:00 am. After that, I received another message stating that the sheets could not be changed at all and that instead a roll-out bed could be provided for an additional £150. Later, I was told by the customer support representative over the phone that this message was automated and the beds would be changed .
Eventually, housekeeping did come and changed the beds, but the situation caused discomfort and stress. I requested compensation for being asked to sleep on bedding containing previous guests’ hair, which is a serious hygiene issue, but this request was refused by the property.
The LED light bulbs were blinking. I reported this and received confirmation that it would be fixed the following day but it wasn’t.
The bathroom floor heating did not work, leaving the tiles extremely cold.
There were problems with hot water.
The bathroom door did not lock.
Did not find hairdryer
Suggested parking was free of charge for the night hours however the maximum stay during the day is 3 hours only.
- Davies (10/5): -
- Su (10/5): I would visit here again. - Clean, comfortable and greeted by a friendly staffer. All was great
- Guest (10/5): Confortável - Muito agradável Wi-Fi não é muito bom
- Sarah (4/5): Insanely frustrating. - This was a completely frustrating experience. Before, during and after arrival there has been a steady stream of automated messages inviting communication and assuring that support is available 24-7. The apartment is lit primarily with overhead LED flood lights. Immediately upon arrival I noticed two overhead bulbs were strobing or out completely. I notified using all the channels they provided (too many - it was confusing because there autoreplies pointed back to each other)...anyway it's a long story with me giving them lots of updates each day, a some promises of support, and nothing actually getting fixed...by the end of the visit (3 nights) 6 bulbs were strobing - at least one in every room. All the while I was still receiving automated messages about how maintenance support is here to help 24-7. Oh, and if you intend to use a microwave, I hope you are a giant cause it's about 7ft in the air. The apartment is nice and well equipped, but I'll never go back.
- Hannah (10/5): -
- Samuel (9/5): - Perfect location in the centre of town. Very clean and comfortable. Great decor throughout.
- Anonymousdevon (7/5): Salisbury break - Location was great for walking to all Salisbury had to offer, quite central but quiet.
The apartment was finished to a high spec.
Beautifully clean and fresh too.
Good quality bed linen. Bed was very uncomfortable, mattress far too soft resulting in very little sleep for one of us.
TV had no iplayers working.
- Melody (7/5): Cute and comfortable but slightly disappointed - Liked how clean and spacious it was, beautifully decorated and rightly displayed
Close to everything which made everything perfect Hated that the wifi was not working my entire stay, the plan was for my partner and I to binge watch movies and relax since we hardly get time to do so but nothing, it wouldn’t work on the tv which was extremely frustrating and we had to look for other ways to entertain ourselves… stuff tried to help but not really as the matter was fixed at all
- Martin (8/5): Excellent - Stylish, clean, close to center Bathroom door didn't lock
- Greg (10/5): - Great location and well appointed apartment
- Laurentiu (10/5): -
- Hannah (5/5): - Loved the style of the apartment and the amenities apart from the faulty TV and WiFi. The TV/wifi was faulty. The WiFi kept going in and out and the TV wouldn't connect to the WiFi at all and kept going black. The apartment is also located in an area with very poor signal, therefore, we could barely use any Internet which made it problematic when trying to resolve the issue. We also couldn't keep in reach with our families, we both have young sons so it was a frustrating part of the trip. It is also located not near a long stay car park so had to do an 8 minute walk. The one recommended on the booking is only for short stay, that should be updated.
- Susan (8/5): - Location clean and good facilities The hot water varied from cool to hot, we had lots of tepid showers.
- steve (10/5): Excellent property for a weekend in Salisbury. Everything you need and centrally located. - Excellent location for a weekend city break. Walking distance to everything you need to do in Salisbury. Property had everything you need for a perfect stay. It was perfect for what I needed.
- May Line (8/5): -
- Ezaddin (8/5): - the location and the unit the view and paid parking
- Andrew (9/5): Excellent apartment, great location. - A great location, just minutes from the city centre but in a relatively quiet location. The apartment is modern, fresh, and has everything you need for a stay - kitchen & washing facilities, two bathrooms, good living & dining areas, plus WiFi and a big smart TV. The en-suite bathroom and its bedroom oddly don't have a mirror, and the shower in the en-suite is hard to use without soaking the entire bathroom due to lack of glass/curtain. The car advertised as being 1 minute away is a max 3 hour stay, so not helpful; a better one is on College Street 4 minutes walk away.
- Kerrymay Posadas (10/5): - I had a wonderful stay. Newly renovated appartment. I love it. Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Brilliant, Modern, Central, Very Happy - Contemporary, new feel and even new like smell!
Overall experience here was fabulous indeed
- Julia (9/5): Very good find! - Very spacious apartment with strong WiFi. Excellent for work. Only luke warm water throughout the property
- Daniel (10/5): Comfortable apartment in central location - Comfortable, clean, well placed
- Deborah (10/5): A perfect location and comfortable property for sightseeing - Just situated across the road from Salt Lane car park is perfect.
We found the property very clean and comfortable with high quality furnishings, bedding and household goods
The property is also in a great location for visiting all that Salisbury has to offer. Nothing
- Antonia (8/5): -
- Barbara (10/5): -
- Georg (10/5): - Beautiful appartement!
- Tim (10/5): Lovely stay to explore Salisbury - Very comfy house and a nice garden for our dog
- Niumatasere (10/5): Air-condition - The location and everything was superb. Nothing I didn't like but would recommend install air-condition for summertime. Not wise to have windows open since it's in town and anyone could climb through it. It's hot in the night and would need air-condition to cool the place.
- Nicola (5/5): Average. Wouldn’t go back, and wouldn’t recommend it. - Noisy at night. Had to keep windows open as apartment v hot and no fans, despite asking. In fact no reply to my email asking about fans.
Beds uncomfy.
- John (9/5): Lovely apartment and clean and tidy. Near centre of city. - Location excellent for visiting family who live near by. Weather was hot so a fan in the attic bedroom would have been a bonus.
- Louise (9/5): Very pleasant apart from the bed - Space and facilities The bed springs could be felt and the bed was too soft leaving me (Louise) with a sore back by the end of the week. Bed needs to be replaced with a new firm bed
- Carol (9/5): Superb - Bed super comfy Could do with a blackout blind in the top bedroom & the plinth in the kitchen needs fixing, it fell on my foot on the first night - good to know it was real wood, as it was very heavy!
- Lynham (9/5): Lovely property - Clean and comfy. Could do with mirrors in the bedrooms, but we were extremely impressed by it. All rooms were generous sizes, bathroom cosy for 4 people sharing, but we managed. More mirrors would ease congestion in there though xx would definitely book again 🙂 Could do with more mirrors which would ease pressure on the small bathroom, but we coped x
- Lorraine (10/5): My family and I enjoyed a weekend visit to Salisbury. ECentral location so all very walkable excellent apartment over t - It was very clean and it all looked very newly decorated. The sitting room was spacious and very comfortable. The kitchen was very well stocked with glasses & crockery.
- Flavia (10/5): Exceptional - Very good Place
- Helen (8/5): Very good -
- Marie (7/5): We enjoyed Salisbury. The house was OK. - The house is well decorated. it’s located conveniently near the train station and restaurants. Coffee and tea are provided, with milk/sugar, which we appreciated. we enjoyed Salisbury. 1. there was a badly leaking faucet in the kitchen. I wrote to the staff about it but it was not addressed
2. The neighborhood is not very attractive
3. I struggled to operate the stove/oven. I asked for help but the staff didn’t have the information.
- Ross (10/5): Exceptional -
- Howard (10/5): Exceptional - Pristine apart, excellent location, all very easy. Nil
- Donna-marie (5/5): Passable - Lovely apartment close to everything. Outside door into property did not shut quietly or easily. Dead bugs on window sill. Only one lamp in bedroom had a bulb.
Felt like stay was being micro managed as son wanted to bring friend but was told it wasn't accepted by property as she was under 21. He wanted to bring her on his skydive.
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lee (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerry (5/5): I loved Salisbury but can not recommend the Charles Hope Centre - Apartment was close to the Market Square and Cathedral. The street the apartment is in is not attractive. The taxi driver who drove me from Sherborne was concerned leaving me in the street. I had a poor experience due to miscommunication and unresolved issues with the property management. Despite being promised a just after 1pm early check-in, I was denied access upon arrival and had to wait in cold conditions until after 2pm, only to be told access was a "goodwill gesture" requiring a fee I couldn't pay due to a technical issue on their platform that they kept saying days before arrival that they were looking into/escalating. I arranged my taxi from Sherborne, 1.5 hours away, based on the assurance of an early check-in.
The apartment had several problems:
1. Microwave and bathroom fan were placed too high to reach, I’m 5’6”
2. Heated bathroom floor didn’t work, was in lock mode. The porcelain tiles were very cold.
3. A promised dryer, referred to in the promotional material and apartment YouTube video, did not exist.
4. There were 2 black and 2 peppermint teabags for my 4 night stay.
5. There are two large hopper windows but they open onto the street at about hip height, no security, I felt claustrophobic.
Maintenance was uncoordinated and untimely, with a maintenance staff member showing up unannounced at night and later being unavailable on a Friday, contrary to earlier assurances.
Communication with the company was confusing and ineffective, involving multiple agents who seemed unfamiliar with the property. I found the process frustrating and time-consuming and would avoid using a non-local management company in the future.
- Madeleine (6/5): Great flat, just the hot water and the television and then five stars all the way. Thank you - Very well fitted out with amenities, very smart and comfortable. Shower never got hot enough, tad over lukewarm at best. The television would also keep cutting out mid show, nothing I could do about this.
- Rachel (10/5): Excellent - Lovely decor and great location Front door very stiff and difficult to open.
- Bill (10/5): I really enjoyed being in Salisbury and would be happy to stay in this apartment again - The apartment is well-appointed, clean and comfortable. The location is perfect, quiet and near the city centre. The tv remote only worked when held a few cm from the set. On one or two occasions I had to insert the code several times before the street door would open
- Paul (9/5): Sat night stay - Very quiet at night
- Mark (9/5): Superb - Great location - stay here often when I visit Salisbury Wi-Fi in apartment 1 is weak (apartment 2 is stronger)
- Sara (9/5): Comfortable and good value - Very comfortable and good quality goods, except for the bin! The big head on the shower is a bit limp, but luckily the small head is just fine
- Marilyn (4/5): very unhappy as I book this a place to stay and was looking forward to a nice break - location very good cleaners very very helpful the company who you phoned with any problems\ question
were not helpful in fact they were unhelpful and gave the impression that I was a time waster although I ask them not to send you tubes as my phone is old sent a you tube on how to install underfloor heating when I ask how to operate heating in bathroom.
also one telling me how to work the dishwasher which had been broken for two week and was only renewed the day before
I moved out I WAS THERE FOR TWO WEEKS and had agreed on a late check out 12am instead odf11am which was cancel when I said I did not work men in on my last day but was told they would come and and at that time they decided to cancel the late check out also told washing machine was a washer dryer it was not. Bedding of poor quality Wi fi very poor kept cutting out. SO VERY VERY DISAPOINTED
- David (10/5): Delightful. Couldn’t fault it. - The enormous bath. Overnight parking in Salisbury is tricky. The car park that you recommend is for three hours max. The parking at the train station is much better and only a short walk from the house.
