• Scott (10/5): Spacious apartment in ideal location - We loved our stay here, it was much more spacious than the other options we looked at. The location was absolutely perfect, right in the heart of the city with lots of nice cafes and restaurants on Flinders Lane.

• Yuk Kiu Chloe (8/5): Great for exploring the city - Central location in a beautiful building, great food and cafes to explore nearby, walkable to places we needed to go to. We had a comfortable stay overall, and the room was clean and well-kept. The mattress and pillows were a bit softer than our personal preference, but that’s just a matter of taste. We also ended up buying our own shampoo and conditioner, as we prefer our usual products. Otherwise, we appreciated the accommodation and hospitality!

My husband kept rolling into the middle of the bed and the quilt cover was stained/discolored. The apartment did not look like the photos shown on web site but was ok.

• Catherine (8/5): Perfect apartment for a couple looking to explore Melbourne by foot. - The apartment was in the best possible location for exploring Melbourne by foot. Bonus was the proximity to the location of the Australian open, running paths along the river, and all the walking tour highlights. Extremely clean, quiet and safe building. Make sure before you book that you understand that this is a tiny apartment, with very little natural light. It is a perfect place for those planning on being out and about all day, but not a place to really lounge or hangout. Although there are amazing coffee shops nearby, there is no coffee machine in the apartment

The apartment was so comfy and cozy—truly a little home away from home. The location in Melbourne was unbeatable, close to the trams, restaurants, shops and theatres; we couldn’t have asked for more. It had everything we needed, including a fully functional kitchen, washing machine, and dryer, which made our stay even more convenient. Despite being in the heart of the city, the apartment was surprisingly quiet and peaceful. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

• Lily (10/5): Great apartment, great location. - The apartment was beautiful and in a fantastic location! It was very clean and welcoming, we had an excellent stay. If i had to find one thing I didn't love, it was the wifi - it dropped out a couple of times but always came back quite quickly.

• Guest (9/5): We booked more than six months in advance and the accommodation was really quite brilliant. - We really loved the location and ease to reach public transport. I used the train every day to reach Cheltenham and Royal Melbourne Golf Club for the Australian Open. We also headed out to Brighton on the Sandringham line on Saturday night to eat out with friends. Although I collected two train timetables from Flinders Street, they weren't required. We discovered in Melbourne that if you reach your platform and the train moves out before you can board, just wait five minutes for the next one to arrive. The apartment was extremely clean and very well equipped. The only downside was that the internet was almost ineffective. I tried it several times but didn't have any success. I had to hotspot from my phone. To be honest, an extra few dollars to provide a better experience would be an expense I was willing to pay.

• Kathy (9/5): Wonderful, We would stay here again. - Location is the absolute best, everything is right at your door including transport, bars, restaurants. The apartment was whisper quiet as well which was great especially given the location. I also liked having more than one pillow per person. Lots of amenities and facilities, was great to have a washing machine as well because we stayed longer than a week. Everything we could want really. Host was communicative and lovely as well which is always a great bonus. A throw blanket would have been nice while watching TV

• Gail (9/5): Chill-out and drink the best coffee in Melb! - Loved the location and the apartment was well set-up with a few bonus goodies such as oil, salt etc. I was a bit cold because I had just come from the sunny coast so I could have done with a bit more heating but everything else was comfortable, even has probably the best coffee shop in Melb just across the street from the front door! I needed a bit more heat than the air-con gave out!

• Frank (9/5): Would definitely like to stay here again, had the best time in the perfect location. - The location in Flinders Lane is simply amazing. Everything you need is just outside your front door, the best bars cafes and restaurants, major attractions, shopping and public transport. Your serenity as you enter the building is very calming compared to the activities all around you and the building feels safe once you’ve entered the front door. My host was absolutely the best ever, terrific communicator, she made me feel welcomed and I had no problem checking in or checking out. For a larger person the shower space is only just bid enough.

It also felt like a safe and secure location to stay. The unit was well stocked with tea, coffee machine and washing machine and dryer if required. It was also very quiet inside the unit.

Best area of Melbourne to explore the old arcades and beautiful architecture. Peter was very helpful. Facilities were good, rooms spacious with old world charm and high ceilings. Apartment felt safe and private. Will stay again when next in Melbourne. That I failed to read the instructions Peter sent regarding how to access the keys and gain access to the building!!!! My fault.

Apartment was very clean although a little dated. The only suggestion I have is to supply a full size ironing board. Would definitely stay there again.

Loved the double glazed windows and the serene quiet. And I loved the apartment feels like a home, with all the different things one needs to feel at home. It’s a beautiful apartment.

There were no coffee making facilities and yes there was excellent coffee to purchase just outside the apartment but that becomes expensive.

• Richard (4/5): A little disappointed - The location was great so central with plenty of shops and restaurants. The location was excellent t, so close to everything. My main complaint was an extremely loud air conditioner, that I didn't turn on for the lady 2 night so I could sleep. There were wires hanging out of the ceiling fan, there was a bright light shining through the window. The blind did not block out the lights. The hand towel did the bathroom had stains and holes in it. I stayed in room 103.
• Travels (9/5): An opportunity to see Melbourne through the lens of a local. - The location is absolutely second to none. Right in the heart of Melbourne laneway cafe culture. The apartment was super clean and well laid out. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. We arrived after quite a warm day and the apartment had no air conditioning, so it was an uncomfortable first night. . It did have fans however that work well. I spoke with the lovely owner and they were already planning to install air conditioning in the near future - which will make the place faultless in my opinion.

• Amanda (8/5): A lovely apartment (not hotel) in an amazing location - The location is unbeatable, the building is beautiful and secure, and the apartment is nice. The windows keep out the noise from the street so the apartment is surprisingly quiet given the busy location. It's an apartment, not a hotel, so there's no front desk to help with small problems. Our host was as helpful as he could be over the phone but it's not the same.

• Keng (7/5): Could be better. - Great that we can cook in the apartment. Location was great too. No housekeeping (change of linen/towels etc) even though we stayed for 8 nights.
• Guy (7/5): Location was fantastic and made up for the shortcomings of the apartment being a bit too small for two people. - Location is great. Close to Flinders Station and the inner CBD. Easy to access everything. Entry in and out is very easy. Owner was very communicative. Photos on the Booking.com App are predominantly for a bigger apartment that we did not get access to. The apartment we received was much smaller and were the photos at the end of the reel. Felt it was misleading advertising. Looking back at the fine print it does say there are multiple apartments. Room and bed smaller than expected, not much room for two suitcases, we had to stack them near the entrance. The air conditioner listed is a small portable one you would have to install in the window yourself if it gets hot. Would be very little room to use the air conditioner if you needed it. The fridge rattles around on the floor boards and is noisy, should consider replacing it. Hot Water System also a bit noisy. Apartment was a bit dusty.

• Deb (10/5): Exceptional - A great stay and fantastic location! Bed was comfortable, we had everything we needed. It was all thought of! It would be great to have a full length mirror somewhere as we only had the bathroom mirror for this. Not a deal breaker obviously, just a suggestion!
• Rice-finlayson (8/5): Very good - Incredible location, right in the middle or the CBD with plenty of great resturants and bars close by, but the room is still super quiet. Lovely old apartment, but very well maintained room and facilities. This is not a hotel and is closer to an airbnb or serviced apartment of sorts. So if you were expecting reception and room service, this is not for you. But i rate the place highly and will definitely use again.

• Jenni (10/5): Laneway loft with the lot - Location was amazing for enjoying Melb CBD. Despite proximity to trams and trains and human traffic, the apartment was quiet with double glazed windows for a great sleep. The windows could be opened for fresh air and the heaters were very efficient on chilly mornings. Everything we needed, including a tea pot, was there and we were very comfortable. A coffee plunger would have been great, but no biggie with coffee all around.
• Prager (9/5): Superb - Fabulous location, beautiful building, super quiet, well equipped and a comfortable size I couldn't open the window, it smelled rather 'close' when I arrived and there was no-one to ask about anything - the manager emailed me from New York! Was lucky I had no problem and didn't lock myself out, because I was totally alone.
• Thompson (9/5): Superb - Location, comfortable bed and reduced city noise were our main criteria and certainly met. Good secure building. Journal Cafe across road was a great coffee. We did not use kitchen or washing machine but great to have available. Pick up of key instructions was a very easy process. Ceiling lighting could be brighter - needed to have lamps close to read.

• Erin (8/5): Very good - Location was excellent, minutes walk from Flinders Station & the main shopping/eating streets. Quiet room for being so central, cozy but workable. Host called beforehand to confirm arrival time & how to collect keys - very easy! Cleanliness of the bathroom was a little lacking. Some spots near the toilet & under the sink that had dust/other people's hair which was a little disappointing. A hairdryer and/or some extra bathroom storage might be a good addition for those looking at more extended stays!

It's basic, but everything we needed was there, we could wash our clothes after travelling for a week, which was great, it was also very quiet with double glazed windows. It should have been a nice place to stay, but.. IT REEKED OF URINE. We walked into the apartment after meeting the host and were hit with a stench of urine. I messaged the host, and he rang back, saying that he had smelt the same thing but thought it was coming from the hallway. It definitely wasn't. I asked if there was an alternative, but didn't get anything other than a can of spray disinfectant which did nothing. I decided not to bother pursuing the host, he didn't follow up with me after giving me the disinfectant - I didn't feel like he was going to do anything to help even if I did. The listing says "limited parking available", I expected there would be a small carpark that I'd be able to sneak into. It actually meant "NO parking available", it cost me $36 per night to park at a carpark the next block up.

• Daniel (10/5): Excellent. Convience. CLose to public transport. - I liked the modern appliances, peter was very helpful and set up a portable air conditioner for me in my room. OMG the bed was so extremely comfortable, i had 7 peaceful beautiful nights of pure sleep. The TV was great, could plug in and use my nintendo switch and computer via hdmi cable :) Shower was awesome - great pressure and loved the fact it was so close to everything! I didn't get to explore much of flinders lane though, as i tended to do diferent stuff, but the localtion is great! I would definetly book again! :D
