Guest Reviews
- Marion (9/5): Great stay in a quirky barn ! - It was quirky !!we loved it!! Nothing - all good
- Susan (10/5): - Lovely location great views.
Owners lived next door and are very helpful.
Lots of places to see nearby Watch out for potholes in the roads nearby
- Kathryn (8/5): - Lovely barn, cosy with beautiful views.
- MATTHEW (10/5): -
- John (9/5): - The Barn lived up to its name; its was a great space for our family break. Very well provisioned with both entertainments for the kids and a well oufitted kitchen. In a lovely quiet and secluded location but a short drive to all the key English Heritage sites, beaches and towns.
- Glenn (8/5): We enjoyed our stay! - The place is quirky as described! It was well equipped and the location was quiet. The bed in the loft was comfortable but a bit hard to get up and down from for a 66 year old! I am told the bed in the bedroom was comfortable. the sofa's were uncomfortable to sit on for any length of time.
- Jenny (10/5): Perfect stay in the stunning Quirky Barn conversion, clean, cozy, everything we needed. - Property had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, was lovely and cozy and perfect for my stay with daughter and mum. The owners even left a complimentary bottle of fizz for us on arrival :) Nothing in particular we didnt like, only small thing was you would most definately need a car as not too much within walking distance, however if you stay in we ordered a take away which was easy enough
- Jon (9/5): - Welcoming hosts, tranquil location, well appointed and equipped holiday home.
- Melanie (10/5): - We loved the barn - a lovely place to spend a few days’ holiday and really spacious. Nothing
- Ruth (10/5): - We really enjoyed the barn.
- Chris (10/5): Great stuff would highly recommend. - Interesting space. Great for me and a buddy. Good value. Beautiful setting. Not too far from civilisation. Plenty of room for our bikes and biking gear. Single track road coming up to it is a bit of a pig, but a small price to pay.
- Chloe (10/5): Exceptional - We loved our stay here. Absolutely stunning view, amazing hosts, super clean and really well maintained throughout. Children loved the barn. It felt extremely restorative. Will visit again. Thank you Jo and family.
- Lee (9/5): Superb - Fantastic stay and welcoming host. Beautiful property with stunning views. The ideal short break away with the family.
- Alex (10/5): Loveliest wholesome home away from home! - We had the loveliest stay at the quirky barn, lots of room for our family of four. A home away from home! So many interesting and novelty parts of the accommodation.
- Hannah (9/5): Peaceful, quirky barn. Loved it. We hope to be back. - Loved our stay. Kids loved the bed up the stairs. Very clean. Gorgeous view. Peaceful.
- Maya (10/5): Loved whole barn, quirkiness of it, cosy, romantic, quiet.. just lovely… would love to come back.. - I loved everything, sofa, fire, well equipped kitchen and living room… good for any weather and occasion… just great… My husband would prefer higher water pressure in the shower, but did not made him to love the place less.
It did not bother me, I found it good.
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Genevieve (10/5): Perfect retreat, we would love to return! Highly recommended -
- Mark (10/5): 2nd time we have stayed at the Quirky Barn and we will definitely be back again. My family love it here!! The hosts are - Everything!! It certainly is quirky Nothing

- Beaver (9/5): Superb -
- Monda (10/5): Prefect family mini break, in spacious, cosy barn - Beautiful barn conversion with everything you need to relax and unwind, great scenery, quiet location, plenty of space inside and out… and Jo and husband are both lovely, helpful and friendly…. Just what we needed to enjoy the last few days of the summer holidays as a mini break and the weather was gorgeous too Having to leave : (
- Kathleen (8/5): Comfortable stay in a great location - The fact it was close to Hastings but in a quiet location with lovely countryside views from the kitchen area and outdoor seating area. It was also spacious with arty decor and well equipped. I’d advise taking eye shades at night if you don’t want to be woken up by the light coming through the roof lights in the morning. You need to be quite agile to access the mezzanine level and to be aware that this just contains a large mattress on the floor (but has good views from the window).
- Paul (10/5): Truly beautiful location, cool, quirky and spacious accommodation and Jo, Justin and Archie were incredibly accommodatin - It's quirkiness and style Nothing
- Ali (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zoe (9/5): Superb - It was exactly what we were looking for! A lovely comfortable unique space with a beautiful view to completely switch off for the weekend!
Everyone was so welcoming and friendly with some great tips on where to go for a countryside walk.
There was a great selection of games to keep us entertained with the added touch of a chilled Asti in the fridge being a nice surprise 😄
- Hugh (8/5): A relaxing few days away in a comfortable accommodation. - The accommodation was very spacious and well set out. There was a limited view to outside. The only windows are in the kitchen. The main room has skylights.
- Brian (9/5): Superb -
- Suemal (9/5): Beautiful location. - Great facilities and countryside views. Loved the spacious shower and the bed and sofas were particularly comfortable. Nothing really. Ideally some blackout blinds for the roof windows but I realise this could be difficult.
- Daniel (9/5): Very good - Very nice place and view It was very nice we have no complaint
- Paul (10/5): Very quiet and relaxing. - The property was quirky but perfect for our requirements with beautiful views. Nothing.
- Jordan (10/5): Exceptional - The view is spectacular!
- Andrii (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yvonne (10/5): Want to come again - Peaceful
- Trish (9/5): Lovely stay, would highly recommend - Beautiful views and quiet location (with muddy but great public footpath taking you into the village and local pub), and the decor is incredible (kept my baby busy exploring and pointing in excitement). Nice touch with some complimentary bubbly and very friendly hosts. Nothing not to like.
- Nils (10/5): A fantabulous location for a reunion and we made some nice new memories - Incredible views, and the barn was quirky indeed, but with ample space for everyone to find a quiet corner for some alone time as well. Potholes at the beginning of the lane, but that can hardly be attributed to the B&B
- Brendan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katrina (8/5): Very good - Great location, quite, clean had everything you want. The height of the rafters internally.
- David (9/5): Great place, lovely hosts -
- Virginia (10/5): What a stunning location & property - The barn was so pretty, especially at night when the lights came on. And the view over the countryside, just stunning! The shower was excellent. Lovely sitting outside eating breakfast. And sitting on the bench half way down the field looking at the stars, was fantastic The ladder up to the mezzanine bed. It could be a bit more chunky and thicker treads
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional - Jo the host went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable and had all we needed.
- Vicky (10/5): Perfect place for us to stay close to family and the lovely surrounding areas - Barn is amazing and quirky but we loved it and felt very comfortable, the mezzanine bedroom was a huge hit with my children who loved climbing a ladder up to their bars. Hosts were so lovely and welcoming and we had everything we needed for our stay. Wonderful rural location with plenty of outdoor space for my boys to run about and play football!! - Anonymous (10/5): amazing - everything everything
- Tracy (7/5): Cozy barn in lovely setting. Great host. - Great facilities, very cozy. Lovely welcoming host. The shower
- Neil (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (7/5): lovely Place to explore the area! - location was lovely nicely secluded and away from noise the feel of the barn is very welcoming and comfortable! love the gas fire 🔥 Ok it’s not really 2 bedrooms as such the main bedroom is open plan and no door only a curtain the 2nd is in the main room also and up a loft ladder to a small mezzanine which states not to be used for under 12s. which they do state only on arrival..to be fair ..but we only noticed it says no kids on the advert but on another section it says children welcome so may be that is Bookings.coms fault. The kids loved the mezzanine though not at first as it was a little daunting. it’s a bit like glamping your all sleeping in one room so not much in the way of privacy. More than 2 adults would be a stretch as I wouldn’t want to go up!! I hope this is fair as I wouldn’t want people turning up with little children or 4 adults as long as you know in advance what your getting! if it was just myself and my wife this would be perfect!! having said that the owners are lovely and we had a lovely stay although the large artwork in the lounge area is eye catching to say the least and I am glad the kids didn’t notice what it was all about! 😊 😂
- Anonymous (10/5): enjoyed every second staying there with my family, we will DEFINITELY be back - it’s so different and quirky. very cosy and quiet. nothing….it was perfect
