Guest Reviews
- Diana (3/5): negligence and lack of respect to paying guests - It was an immense disappointment to turn up to what looked okay from the outside but the reality was very different. however the drive up to it looks like a scrap yard. We unfortunately checked out 15 minutes later. Just about everything here is a list
kitchen dirty pile of crumbs in the toaster been there weeks, old water left in the kettle and coffee machine from who knows when.
Oven trays rusty and dirty
inside cupboards old utensils and not clean
some of the furniture was delaminating
table set for 6 people with multiple plates on it the same one as in the photo too lazy to put the stuff away
Windows inside and out filthy
bathroom shower had soap on the glass
and black mould on the tiles mirror had splash marks on it
a big hole in the bathroom wall plugged with a piece of wood
Dead flies on the window sills
bedroom - bedside tables absolutely thick of dust
bedding looked dirty and dusty
upstairs decked veranda obviously never been swept in weeks and outdoors furniture black and mouldy unusable
The price was very expensive for a shoddy ramshackle place
We are a couple in our 60’s who like clean well kept accommodation and are happy to pay but this was just a joke. The owner apologised and gave us our money back but it left us looking frantically for alternative accommodation not what you want when on holiday

- Elizabeth (10/5): Absolutely loved it, we will be back! - We walked in and we were amazed by how beautiful the barn was. The children absolutely loved it too. It had everything we needed and more. All the extras, like the board games and puzzles, were a bonus. The location was fantastic for all the places we wanted to visit and it was so nice to have our little retreat to come back to. There was nothing we didnt like.
- Jade (10/5): We look forward to returning in the near future! - All amenities have been thought of by the host at this well presented barn with extremely comfy beds. It’s within walking distance of the village centre which has some fantastic pubs/ walks and attractions along with a lot of other places of interest within a half an hour drive.
- Louise (9/5): A very nice and relaxing few days away in a lovely property. Very well furnished and the little extrs supplied for young - Very spacious and lovely looking property. Had many appliances and lots of little extras. Nice cozy, quiet, relaxing stay! Bathroom downstairs and having the carriage so close.
- Carlisle (10/5): Fabulous - Location was amazing, very clean and
comfortable accommodation.
- Andrey (10/5): -
- Adrian (8/5): We had a lovely time. - Super clean with plenty of space parking was easy and safe for our vehicles. Not much.
- samantha (10/5): Perfection. - This lovely home is definitely above and beyond expectations. It is beautifully and tastefully decorated with everything you need plus! The beds are super comfy! The location is perfect for holidaying in The Broads with Coltishall itself having beautiful surroundings with all amenities you need. Lauren was a perfect host with great communication … I left my purse there, she was straight on the phone to arrange collection. I cannot recommend enough and I wouldn’t stay anywhere else having discovered this gorgeous hideaway barn
- Colin (10/5): Everything perfect and great value - Everything! Comfortable, very clean, well equipped. Located in a village that has shop, fish and chips, cafe, pubs, riverside all within 10/15 min walk. Wroxham and other Broads attractions only a short car drive away. Communication with the lovely owner great too. The only thing we didn't like....We had to go home.

- Nicola (9/5): Superb - Beautiful barn conversion, very comfortable. Nothing
- Iain (9/5): Superb -
- Robin (8/5): Very secluded and quiet, some blinds in the vaulted ceiling did not close completely, main issue was the bed and not wi - Lovely location and facilities were very good. Main bed not really big enough, perfectly comfortable but would prefer it bigger
- Valerie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neisha (9/5): The photos do not do this beautifully appointed Barn conversion justice! Would highly reccomend 🥰 -
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely barn, perfect for a family getaway. Will definitely be back.
- Denisa (5/5): Great property, beautifully furnished. We enjoyed exploring Norfolk. - The property is beautiful, very tastefully furnished. The double bed its too small. We struggled to get a good night sleep. I feel the owner missed a trick; only if the “main” bed was king size it would be so much more comfortable. Otherwise great place to stay.
- Hayley (10/5): Exceptional - Beautifully furnished
- Aphone (10/5): Loved the property… - Great property, very well furnished, all mod cons…
Ideal base to explore area, owners have put a lot of thought into decor resulting in a very comfortable & stylish holiday hideaway.
- Christopher (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Flavia (10/5): The property was lovely. Clean, comfortable and well equipped. - The property was lovely. Clean, comfortable and well equipped (good kitchen equipment and washing machine).
there was a good patio outside we used to ride bikes and kick football with the kids and could be even more enjoyable in warmers days. It was secluded, quiet and also walking distance from at least 3 good restaurants. The side and back of the house was very "rough" not well maintained - with kids we did not feel safe to let them outside alone to play. There was no barriers of protection on the side of the the house where there was a big dip/fall on the side.
- Carrie (10/5): Fantastic - Beautiful home. Well equipped. Great location. The host provided lots of info about the local area which was really helpful. Loved it!
- Clive (10/5): Fantastic accommodation, attention to detail, thoughtful touches, quite and well situated! - The Hideaway is a hidden gem. Tucked away in a secluded location, the property wowed from the moment we saw it. Upon entrance, the accommodation is warm and welcoming. The decor is beautiful, and so well coordinated. Lovely sofas & a basketful of blankets were perfect for snuggling into. The kitchen space is so well equipped with everything you might need, plus more! Shower and loo are situated on the ground floor, again, beautiful decor, especially the washstand! The entrance hall / utility room is equipped with a washing machine, fridge and butler sink. Upstairs, the beds were exceptionally comfortable and the linens of the highest quality. The attention to detail makes it feel really special. Even though the far end of the room is glazed floor to ceiling, the early morning light didn’t affect our sleep in the least. The bedroom leads out to a wonderful private balcony. Coltishall is a great base for exploring the broads, and Norfolk’s only canal. The Rising Sun and the Recruiting Sargeant offer amazing food, as does the Kings Head, where we enjoyed a hearty breakfast. Thanks Lauren for making our couple of days feel like a week, cannot wait to return! Having to leave!
- Sue (10/5): Was a very comfortable and pretty place to stay for our break in Norfolk. - Was clean and welcoming.
Welcome pack and bottle of wine.
Very comfortable sofas and beds.
Was central to where we wanted to visit. N/a

- Georgina (10/5): Lovely home from home stay. Can’t wait to come back - The Hideaway Barn was so lovely, it’s very spacious, clean has everything you need there. It’s like home from home. The upstairs is really big, lots of space. Downstairs is also very spacious lots of kitchen area and seating. Decorated lovely. We had such a lovely stay.
Lauren was great, she answered all my questions beforehand, kept up updated before our visit, sent us ideas of places to go and places to eat. It was lovely. Thanks Lauren and we’re be back
- Kerry (10/5): Exceptional - Very cosy and had everything you could need.
Our little girl loved the basket of toys!
- Janice (10/5): Exceptional - Location central to Broads & the coast and pubs, shops all local to property It was perfect no faults..
- Daniel (9/5): Beautiful cosy countryside barn in a quiet village location - Beautifully decorated cosy barn. Felt homely and welcoming to stay. All fixtures and fittings suited it perfectly and it was a lovely clean environment. Peaceful location for a chilled weekend away My only downside was the lack of curtain on the large window and door to balcony at the end of the bedroom. The person did leave an eye mask but only for one. Besides from this the stay was perfect.
- Kim (10/5): It was a lovely stay , very comfortable, very homely - This property was so lovely and fully equipped with everything, we had a perfect night stay

- Jo (9/5): Superb - Beautifully furnished barn conversion holiday home. Comfortable and spacious and very well equipped. Unusual upstairs with double bed and 2 single beds in one space but would work for a family
- Pointon (9/5): Superb - We absolutely loved our stay at the Hideaway Barn! The facilities were amazing, it had everything we could have needed. The beds were so comfortable, and the house is in a great location. Very cosy , responsive host and beautifully decorated. It's worth noting as advertised the beds are all in one room, but there is plenty of space and we found it private enough!
- Victoria (10/5): Absolutely amazing - can I live here please? - Wow! Absolutely stunning stunning stunning place. Great attention to detail - venue was stunning! Everything thought of! Absolutely nothing - could fault nothing!
- Eileen (10/5): Excellent accommodation and host, we'll equipped and very comfortable. - Excellent accommodation and host, a lovely stay. Nothing
- David (10/5): Brilliant - Everything All perfect
- Anonymous (10/5): Just lovely, I wish we could've stayed longer - Managed to come up breifly for my partner's birthday and he was in utter awe of this place.
Furnished stylishly and thoughtfully throughout, with pillows and blankets neatly stashed here there and everywhere- it has such a comforting atmosphere.
Ah, and the upstairs bedroom! So romantic, it's difficult to put into words. But the accommodation as a whole was just dreamlike.
And Lauren was the perfect host ☺️, and as a local she's got valuable intel on all the best places to go. Wasn't a problem for us, but off the side of the building there a very steep drop. It's fenced off, but I'd just be weary if you're coming with little ones.
- Aileen (8/5): Very good - The location.
Hearing the owls.
Welcome pack.
- Phil (8/5): Great quiet location ideally situated for exploring The Broads. Stylish furniture and fittings. Lovely balcony. -
- Paul (10/5): Fantastic stay in a lovely, cosy barn in the middle of a great village with loads of things to do! - Really nice to stay in a barn that had been converted into cosy, and uniquely open plan rooms. The kids loved being there and there was a nice welcome of snacks and prosecco when we arrived. There really wasn't much to not like. It was a perfect base for our Norfolk holiday and was a cosy place to come back to in the evenings. Developing the outside property and area will only make this a better place to stay.
- Andy (9/5): Superb -
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Wow what a fantastic place to stay with such a wonderful host! We can’t thank Lauren enough for her incredible hospitality. She really has thought of absolutely everything to make it a home from home.
Hideaway Barn is located perfectly to explore all areas of Norfolk. There is so much to do locally and the village pubs are brilliant.
This was our first holiday with our new baby and Lauren was so excellent with her communication prior to our stay and really put my mind at ease and provided a travel cot, bath and high chair to make our stay so much easier. Thank you!
The accommodation itself is just beautiful. It is so spacious yet cosy at the same time. We felt right at home and didn’t want to leave. We would highly recommendto anyone and have done to all our friends and family after our wonderful stay. We only wish we could have stayed longer.
Thank you so much and we hope to visit again soon.
- Jane (10/5): Peaceful and special - The barn was lovely and the kids loved it too. The layout was great and upstairs is plenty big enough for a family. The welcome pack was lovely with Prosecco, biscuits and crisps:) a lovely touch! Lauren was great at keeping in contact and the location of the barn is also lovely with friendly neighbours x Nothing we didn’t like! We would probably bring a torch for nighttime toilet visits next time as it was quite dark going down the stairs.
- John (9/5): Roomy and comfortable property well located to explore the Norfolk Broads area and northern Norfolk. - Large and comfortable property.
Quiet location.
Quality inclusions. Bedroom upstairs but toilet downstairs ( Was aware of this at time of booking so not really an issue)
- Christina (10/5): Wish we could stay again but we live overseas - We loved the location…property itself was amazing…plenty of space…we felt welcomed even though we didn’t actually meet anyone …everything we could possibly want or need was there Nothing to dislike
- Judy (10/5): Lovely place to stay, very comfortable and Lauren the host was fabulous with information and help. -
- Hayley (10/5): I wish we could of stayed longer! - This gorgeous little barn was like a home from home! So well equipped with everything you could possibly need and it is absolutely beautiful! Lauren is lovely too and her communication and friendliness was a pleasure. We plan to visit again!
- Sophie (10/5): Outstanding - Absolutely stunning inside and out. Quiet and peaceful surroundings. Perfect location with plenty to do. Lauren thought of every single detail. Even had a picnic basket which was perfect for our day on the broads! Cannot recommend the hideaway barn enough!
- Arran (9/5): Would love to return, but for longer next time! - What a beautiful barn! Everything you need is here and Lauren made us feel so welcome with fizz and treats for our anniversary. The only thing we missed was some blinds/curtains for the large windows and door leading to the balcony in the bedroom, there was a lot of early morning light!
- Sara (9/5): Perfect home from home. - The location was perfect for us, quite and in a very pretty village, close enough to Wroxham but away from the crowds. Great selection of food outlets and nice pubs. The barn is very homely and was tastefully decorated in a chic country style. The host was informative and left us a lovely welcome pack. We had a great stay. I would have preferred a toilet on the same floor as the bedroom.
- Helen (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely stunning house with lovely decor and everything you need for a relaxing stay. We would have loved to have stayed longer!! The view from the balcony is gorgeous and the location peaceful. Loved our stay!
- Maeve (10/5): I would definitely recommend staying here. We would love to return. A wonderful weekend away. Thank - Beautiful and luxurious holiday home. Everything was high quality, great taste and all that you would need for self catering was available. The host made you feel very at home and made special touches by leaving prosecco, crisps and chocolates. Quiet, relaxing location and easy to access gorgeous beaches nearby about 20 minutes away. Bewilderwood theme park, only a few minutes drive, and is a great day out for young children. Just be aware that the toilet and bathroom is located on the ground floor but easily solved by bringing a torch.
- Anonymous (10/5): A stylish property that we felt totally relaxed in - It was a magical and relaxing place to stay. Beautifully designed decor in a calm and peaceful setting. We loved it all. It had everything we needed
