Guest Reviews
- Lauren (10/5): Great central apartment - clean, comfortable and exactly what we needed! No complaints - Perfect central location! Able to explore whole town, from castle to highstreet and everywhere between. Lovely little apartment with everything we needed for weekend stay. The apartment was clean, comfortable and just as described. Amy was really helpful providing parking details and also helping with restaurant recommendations. Would definitely recommend!
- Karen (3/5): Lovely place, spoilt by a known pluming problem - Lovely location. lovely clean apartment. Wasn't told that there was 4 flights of stairs. my main problem was the squirty/spluttering shower, I was unable to rinse my hair , so decided to rinse it in the kitchen, as rinsing my hair my feet became very wet. The kitchen sink had a leek!!! The annoying part was , the owner obviously knew about this, as there was a bowl under the sink to catch the water. I ended up mopping the whole kitchen. This did spoil my stay, and could have been avoided , just a little note. Forwarned is forarmed.
- Simon (10/5): Great weekend in Clitheroe - Lovely comfortable apartment with great views. Very central to everything Clitheroe has to offer with restaurants and shops nearby.
- Tony (4/5): It was very expensive and we didn’t feel that it was good value for money - Location No car parking
Very uncomfortable bed
No microwave
Dirty entrance and stairs
- Lisa (10/5): Lovely quirky apartment definitely recommend - Location facilities
- Louise (7/5): Brilliant location , just needs smartening up. - Fabulous view and great location Uncomfortable sofa ,quite a lot of stains on the sofa.
Big cobweb hanging from the living room ceiling . General feeling if not being clean.
- Jane (9/5): Wonderful town centre get away with views. - Love this town centre apartment. It’s fantastic and really well maintained. Brilliant views from the roof terrace. It’s cosy too which is great on days when the weather isn’t so good pleasant.
This is our second time here and we’re hoping to stay again. Nothing
- Rob (8/5): Very good - Great location. Lack of microwave oven.
A stronger shower unit would have been welcome.
- Al (10/5): Exceptional - We loved our stay here, the Apt is really clean and cosy, we're planning to go back next year and hopefully have some sunshine on the rooftop terrace! Amy was great communicating any questions that I had and was really helpful. Everything was perfect 👌
- Darren (3/5): not so good - location was good room was very basic no central heating and no free flowing hot water
- Susan (7/5): Central location - The bottle of wine, and goodies in the fridge was appreciated. The rooftop terrace was dangerous, with very low rail, and difficulty getting up there. The sofa bed was uncomfortable, and the bed in the bedroom was a very tight squeeze to get around. The bed had roll-together. We couldn't watch normal TV. Parking was not available for this property, and we had to find parking around the town. I think calling it a penthouse, is overstating it.
- Tom (9/5): Superb -
- Joe (7/5): Good -
- Zimmer (10/5): A lovely place to stay ❤️ - Amy is a wonderful host.
- Laura (10/5): Great location & amazing space - Super amazing location! Check in was easy and Amy had really good recommendations! Would visit again
- Julie (9/5): Enjoyable, relaxed, good food and drink, - no breakfast , location was perfect for centre amenities. The weather hahaha!
- Greg (8/5): Central, with a great view and everything you need for a short break. - Very central, clean and well equipped apartment. The outlook is great, as is the view from the roof terrace. The owner was super friendly and helpful, specially with arrival and parking info. The location is right in the centre of Clitheroe, next door to the Castle and lovely park. Great restaurants, bars and shopping on the doorstep too. The street outside is a little noisy, and the bed is a small double (ie too small for us) and not the cosiest we’ve slept in, though none of these things spoiled our stay.
- Joan (6/5): It was okay. We had expected it to be nicer. - Good central location. Near the town centre. Lovely shops and restaurants nearby. Flat is nicely decorated There were four of us booked to stay but only three plates and three bowls in the flat. One of us always had to wait to eat which was really annoying. The roof terrace is accessed by a terrifyingly steep ladder. No way to safely bring wine and glasses up there and only one plastic wine glass available. The roof terrace was over sold and really misrepresented since the access up there was not easy and impossibleto safely carry anything up there. The tv was only available to use if you have your own streaming service account because it has no terrestrial channels available and no aerial. The tv stopped working on our second day. The free parking was hard to find because it was not made clear that we could legally park by the "you will be clamped" signs....which was all a bit odd The owner sent us picture of the building but building has been repainted and is no longer yellow so when we arrived so it took us a while to actually find it and we walked past it several times. Made us wonder how recently the owner had visited the property. It is located near bars and restaurants so it was very noisy and it was very hot weather so we couldn't close the windows. Probably quieter in winter with closed windows. Flat is nicely decorated but bed has a massive dip in the centre. I think it is over priced for a place with so many flaws
- Graham (9/5): Superb -

- Andrzej (8/5): Great place with an amazing view ! - Great location and easy access. Very clean and tidy. The view from the roof terrace was amazing. Another great thing was the bottle of fizz in the fridge. Small milk and soft drinks are also a great touch. I really would like to give it a 10, but there was an issue that will be mentioned in the next section. The only thing that we have had an issue with was the bed :( I didn't sleep comfortably, every time me or my partner moved the whole bed made loud noises that kept us awake. Plus it felt like I was "rolling" to the middle of the bed. Maybe it's the issue with matterace, maybe with the bed frame. I really don't know. Maybe we are just light sleepers. And because I didn't really rest, I cannot give 10 :(
- Emma (8/5): Amazing location, lovely roof terrace if you're steady on your feet - Amazing location, right on the high street and beautiful view. Gorgeous roof terrace which I spent a lot of time on. Others have noted the access is tricky, it's basically up a ladder so you need to use both hands and then climb through a hatch, like getting into a loft. Very pretty once up though!
Very nice coffee machine. Decent shower.
Three minute walk to the castle grounds, local ice cream place, shops and cafes. It feels like a holiday let and I find that a bit sterile, and I think it's a bit expensive, but that might be the going rate for the area.
- Doreen (5/5): I feel mislead by the advertising. Still enjoyed Clitheroe - The property was clean and the kitchen modern The property was billed as a boutique penthouse apartment. It was none of these. It was in fact a small second floor flat, with a roof access ladder. I feel that the property was oversold and did not deliver on the promise. The bathroom washbasin was tiny and the tap insecure. The mattress in the bedroom was clearly very old. The bedroom was small with no room for bedside tables and a metal rod to serve as clothes storage. I do not feel that we got value for money, or that the description was an accurate reflection of the nature of the property. When booking this property I used the 'parking' filter on booking.com. This flat should not have come up- there is NO parking nearby.
- Lewis (10/5): Comfortable - Everything I can’t answer this question as everything was fantastic.
- Andrea (10/5): Classic small apt. With benefits like a rooftop oasis! - The location was most important for us as we came to see the castle! We were delighted by the local cafe, Blueberries. Bathroom van light was very loud!
- Natasha (10/5): Fan little Apartment - We were welcomed to the apartment with a lovely complimentary pack, including snacks, drinks and a bottle of prosecco
The location is great, parking could be easier but using the short stay car park was OK.
Comfy beds and everything we needed for a short stay 🙂
Roof terrace great added extra The noisy fan when the bathroom light was on but nothing major
- Janelle (10/5): Lovely! Comfortable, welcoming and great host communication! - Beautiful clean apartment, spacious and warm, lovely welcome gifts left too, excellent communication with host with couple of queries, answered very prompt , before we arrived and also when we had arrived, would definitely recommend, thankyou! Only small criticism was no wardrobe to hang clothes, but didn’t massively impact our stay but would be beneficial as the bedroom would hold space even for a single door wardrobe
- Sandra (8/5): I loved it - Loved location room was lolvely It was little difficult getting up on to roof top
- Helen (9/5): Lovely 2 night stay with everything we need. - Apartment was lovely, modern and clean, cold drinks and milk in fridge including a bottle of prosecco 😊. Although on main street the window shut out all the noise. bed was very comfy. Key box was great, heating was on when we arrived. Being in the town centre was brilliant, easy access to Castle, pubs restaurants etc. Great
communication with Amy. Being pensioners we struggled carrying luggage up the flights of stairs but wouldn't be a problem to most people, however there was no way we could access the rooftop area, again due to age 🤦
- Derek (10/5): Brilliant stay, we will definitely visit again - The apartment is beautiful and very well presented.
Excellent location and facilities Nothing
- Gemma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tracey (7/5): The roof terrace access is shocking. - Good location in centre of town. Good communication from host. Nice apartment overall but needs some improvement. I booked this apartment because of the roof terrace. The access to the roof is via a ship style ladder. This is not shown before booking and is misleading to customers. . Bedroom is squashed no space to squeeze between furniture into bed. TV is so hard to access. Programmes would not load for ages and was a pain to use. Sockets so overloaded and outdated. WC cistern runs continually and no pressure in the shower. All things can be addressed but transparency over the terrace access needs to be done as this is unfair for those who wish to use it.
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional - Quirky apartment. Central location. No car parking but car park nearby
- Hannah (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (8/5): Short weekend break. - Great location, very clean and had everything what you would need for a short break. Being over critical the sofa bed wasn’t the best but they are what they are.
- Neil (9/5): Superb -
- Rachel (7/5): Great host communication, but apartment needs some upgrading - Location was good for Clitheroe. Host was very helpful and her communication excellent with advice on local places to eat and to visit. Coffee machine was a nice extra and milk and soft drinks provided in the fridge. Sofa bed in the room was broken and not easy to put together, and was very uncomfortable to sleep on. Double bed in the main room was loose and noisy, creaked every time the children turned over. Roof terrace is a nice addition but didn’t realise it was only accessible via a loft style type ladder which is very steep so would make this inaccessible for some. This should be highlighted for future guests. Tv was only via a fire stick so unable to watch live channels. Overall,For the price of the room we would have expected a bit better quality.
- Emma (7/5): Good -
- Maxine (9/5): Superb -
- Alison (8/5): we had a lovely weekend exploring Clitheroe and meeting up with friends. - the central location, the views from the lounge/bedroom. it’s a spacious, well equipped apartment with coffee machine, great cooker etc the access to the roof top terrace- unfortunately the access is a steep ladder with no handrails etc at the top entrance/ exit. so I was unable to go there, my daughter even struggled and only tried it once.
- Keith (9/5): nice to be in the middle of Clitheroe. - everything stairs
- Danny (9/5): Superb -
- Teresa (9/5): Superb -
- Hamid (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely good-sized rental for a couple or lone traveller. Beautifully decorated and upholstered. Comfortable bed, nicely stocked fridge, coffee pod machine and tea and coffee. Amazon Fire Stick with all the main streaming apps was a nice detail. We didn't get much time on the rooftop but did climb up for a look. It was beautiful for stargazing and gives a great view of the castle lit up at night. Amy was very quick in communication and very accommodating. Would definitely be our first choice if we're back in Clitheroe. One creaky floorboard outside the bedroom, but definitely not a problem
- David (10/5): unique property with great location , wish we had a longer stay - unique location close to the castle and town centre . exterior building blends in with the age and architecture of the town but interior bright and modern.
everything one could wish for an extended stay is present. great views from the window and potential for even better views from the rooftop terrace. unfortunately with the weather and short stay we were unable to try it. nothing
- Callum (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic location, wonderful host.
- Deborah (7/5): A great apartment in the heart of town. - It was just the right sort of apartment for what I needed. Though I don't live in Clitheroe I know it very well so knew where it was. The restaurant advice Amy suggested was brilliant.
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
