Guest Reviews
- Ssemwogerere (10/5): BEST MOTEL - Generally, the staff coz I tried giving the kitchen attendants headache but they did abide to my directives, which showed good discipline....
The receptionist was too calm and too welcoming, with good advise Just the bed was not firm enough
It made some irritating sound
And the TVs in most hotels and motels have more than 4 channels
- Prince James Love (9/5): - DStv and free water for the start
- Matovu (2/5): No value for money - The location is near CBD Poor hospitality not only in interaction but even incompetencies in housekeeping.

- Matovu (2/5): A TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT - At this place they lack good and consistency in service, you know I booked a double occupancy and they provided only one pair of sandals, not only that the bedsheets which were supposed to be white were dirty to the extent you could see the brown patches of spots.
Normally when you ask them about breakfast at check-in the receptionist tells you it's served at 7:30am which you accept, then when time for breakfast comes you call the kitchen staff about readiness of breakfast they talk back to you in a non-hospitable tone that give us one hour more then after that one hour again after calling they still tell you breakfast is not ready we might serve it at 9:30, but these people whom do they think is their guest? When you inform the receptionist about your disservice she also has no clue about anything and you wonder for sure who manages this place. Every time the staff are concerned about room service charge, imagine even after my breakfast was delayed the guy told now we are ready to serve you and answered can you bring it my because I was already exiting the hotel after along wait, with lack of remorsefulness the chef told you will have to pay room service charge but imagine it's them who had delayed our breakfast instead of showing some thoughtful hospitality they only cared about some little money for delivery.
On my checkout imagine there were two two staff at the reception but non of them could even take a step to apologize to a guest who couldn't get his breakfast on time and has left the hotel hungry and angry for sure this was a turnoff. Customer service very poor.
Turn around time poor.
Cleanliness lacked.

- AHMED (10/5): Grateful - The cheerfulness and smiles of the staff, especially Richa, the hotel manager, the bar employee whose name I don’t remember, and the bald man who was also very friendly, I think his name was Salas or something like that. I extend my warm thanks to them for their kind hospitality and I remind all the people who are going to stay in this wonderful hotel not to smoke inside the rooms and to go to the designated place. Thank you. Nothing everything was okay
- Gwembe (8/5): The stay was good - The staff were nice The kitchen was not clean

- Ken (10/5): Best Kept Secret! - The manager is very professional and resolved a minor issue, but other than that, this has to be the best property for the price in town! Alex and Rachel are awesome! Clean rooms, nice restaurant, free breakfast, and the location is perfect. I recommend the Galaxy to anyone ExPats or travelers!
- Dandas (9/5): Superb -
- Videsio (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jin (3/5): Unfair charging of rate - I liked the accommodation, it was spacious and clean I booked a stay through Booking.com for $93 USD. Upon arrival, the hotel charged me 358,050 UGX, using an exchange rate of 3,850 UGX per USD. The current market rate is 3,595 UGX per USD, meaning I should have paid approximately 335,000 UGX. After negotiation, the hotel reduced the rate to 3,750 UGX per USD, resulting in a payment of 349,000 UGX—still 14,000 UGX more than the correct amount. The hotel’s use of an inflated exchange rate is unfair and misleading. I urge you to ensure the hotel uses the standard market exchange rate for future transactions to prevent such discrepancies.
- Maliheh (4/5): Not recommended the place at all - I’ve travelled extensively across Africa and the world, but I have never encountered such an unpleasant and unprofessional manager. I was shocked when they refused to accept my payment in US dollars, even though the amount was only $14.90. They also refused to accept the official exchange rate used by banks and exchange offices (USD = 3,590 UGX), insisting instead on using their own arbitrary rate of $=3850 and constantly saying we have our own rate in the hotel ( such a weird comment)— something I’ve never seen before. As a result, I had to pay more than necessary, which felt completely unfair.
Another frustrating issue was the check-out time. The website clearly stated check-out was at 11:00 AM, but the staff insisted it was 10:00 AM — or 10:30 at the latest — which was both inconvenient and misleading.
I had specifically travelled to Kampala for two important Zoom meetings and chose this hotel because it advertised working WiFi. However, shortly after I arrived, the WiFi was disconnected and was restored after 2 and a half hours, despite repeated promises that it would be fixed "in 30 minutes." This caused me significant stress and disrupted my plans completely.
To add to it all, the hotel is located very close to a slum area, which wasn’t made clear in the listing and may matter to some travellers.
Overall, this was one of the most stressful and disappointing hotel stays I’ve had. I strongly advise others to look elsewhere if you value clear communication, honesty, and reliability. The most disturbing experience and very unpleasant manager. I am sure that they will deny all the facts that I have mentioned in my review.
- Mohamed (9/5): Superb - Very good stay and stuff very helpful.
Special thanks to Rachel, very nice person and available for any help.
Would definitely recommend.
- Ranger911 (3/5): Poor - Reception short lady she is bad treatment for no reason !!! Internet was good
- Ken (8/5): Mean Day time Front Desk Lady - I like the accommodations. The location is good and central to everything. Free Breakfast and Room Service. Nice Roof top restaurant. The front desk girl, who works the day shift, was very low energy, bad manners, and unprofessional. She acted like everything we asked in terms of service was a nuisance and always seemed very annoyed that she had to help us. My fiance and I never have issues with other staff who are friendly. This is not our first encounter with this same young lady. We have stayed here before. She has the kind of bad energy that ruins your entire stay. She's not good for business. The front desk is the most important area in a hotel because they are the gatekeeper who set the entire mood of a customers' stay. Im a US Merchant Marine, and I stay hotels all over the world. Her bad attitude ranks as the worst I've experienced. This will be our last stay at the Galaxy.
- Douglas (8/5): Very good -
- Basil (9/5): The best hotel and cost effective - I enjoyed the best breakfast and the location was amazing just near the Road Noise from moving cars
- Ahmed (1/5): Bad -
- Abdelaziz (7/5): Good -
- Job (8/5): Very good - The staff were really friendly. Special mention to Keen, Serah and Sylvio.
The rooms were spacious and had all the amenities required. Double rooms should have two beds, sharing beds was uncomfortable.
Serving of breakfast was kind of slow, there's more room for improvement
- Tarig (5/5): second time I will never come to this motel - Nothing every thing
- Daddy (10/5): Wow it was so massive - Care Food
- Ahmed (5/5): Passable -
- Larry (7/5): Nice hotel, clean but service need to improve - The place has been my favorite. The hotel is very nice decent, and very beautiful rooms Honestly this place could do better with improved d.sk services.
The night receptionist is a very nice gentleman, very helpful and the restaurant lady is the best!.
- Larry (5/5): Restaurant staff very friendly and accommodative - Hotel itself is very decent and I love it. Very nice restaurant staff.
- Larry (10/5): Nice place - Clean, nice, and functional room
- Shakim (6/5): All was good but the Fan wasn’t working well means it can’t make it up in the room .may be Air conditioners should be in -
- Huguette (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roland (8/5): Very good -
- Marius (7/5): Good -
- Larry (9/5): Superb -
- Rose (5/5): Passable -
- Alphawatch (6/5): Pleasant - The workers are friendly. Booked via booking.com in USD but at the reception I was told that they only accept UGX. So they took my UGX but at a very bad exchange rate. Making 5% profit extra by charging UGX instead USD is not a good idea. Loudry service is good but overpriced.
- Mohamed (8/5): Very good -
- Larry (10/5): Nice place - Very nice lady in the restaurant and accommodative receptionist. Homely and just love the deluxe rooms!
- Susan (1/5): Bad -
- Khalid (7/5): Nice stuff - Was good stuff
- Kevin (3/5): Poor -
- Biz (7/5): Good -
- Mike (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mike (10/5): Exceptional -
- Janet (1/5): It's disappointing that the room lacked basic things like soap and toilet paper. - It is accessible as it is on the road side. The room did not have basic things like soap and toilet paper.
I was advised that breakfast is served at 8 am but there was delay to around 8.30 am. This delayed my checkout and affected my entire onward transit plans.
- George (3/5): Poor -
- Kofi (8/5): Very good - Right in town, but still noise in low levels while inside the room, transportation is so.easy to.get, but Boda Boda (motor cycles) is better choice due to the heavy jams in that part of the town
- Baraka (2/5): Very poor -
- Rodgers (7/5): Good -
- Ben (8/5): Very good -
- Musonza (8/5): Very good - Everything was awesome There was noise outside
- Dmitry (10/5): Exceptional -
