Guest Reviews
- claudia (5/5): Not welcoming and didn’t get what I booked - The garden looked nice and I had assumed the guest rooms were in the annex I had booked a room with private bathroom. On arrival was put in the families master bedroom, sharing the family bathroom. At same price- was told I could cancel if i didn’t like it. It was raining and given the hassle it is to get taxis in Qabala, I stayed. Really uncomfortable with all the family walking around but now being inviting. No idea where the good reviews come from. I usually don’t give bad reviews to family run places,

- Danijel (9/5): Superb - Turan and his family have a really nice and big place just a few minutes from the city centre. They were very welcoming and helpful with everything. Turan even took me the first evening to a nice restaurant owned by his friend to chill and we had some traditional tea and halva. Thank you for a very nice experience.
- Nurlan97 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Syed (8/5): Very good - Staff's attitude and worthy as per the price.
- Isabella (10/5): Wonderful homestay - Hosts were super nice, they were very welcoming and caring.
Breakfast was amazing and the hostel had all facilities nearby.
I will definitely come back as Gabala was a wonderful city and the family who owns this hostel made me feel like home.
- Joffre (8/5): Kudos to the staff! - The garden
- Miriam (10/5): The owner of this place is very friendly! -
- Michelle (10/5): I had an excellent experience at this hostel. The host was incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help with any - Wonderful Stay – Great Host & Super Clean Hostel
- Georgi (9/5): Superb -
- Muhammad (10/5): Owner is amazing and his family. - With owner family.
- Yogi (8/5): Very good -
- Ashish (9/5): Wonderful Out House with Garden - The rooms are in an out house , the owner is very friendly and helpful , its fun staying in this kind of out house , more people more fun . All facilities are there for long stays , garden is very nice . Gabala is a small town and this pace is just back side of a main road , very lonely road , but safe .
- Mohamed (10/5): Exceptional - Calm and clean and generous Everything is good
- Kamal (9/5): Superb - The host Turan is a lovely and hospitable person. Always ready to help and answer questions with a smile on his face. I surely recommend Gabala Garden Hostel if you plan to visit Gabala.
- Waqar (10/5): Exceptional - Gabala Garden Hostel is a very beautiful place with a green garden full of roses and trees. The host family is kind and helpful. The host made sure I had everything I needed to feel comfortable. He also gave great advice on places to visit in Gabala and where to eat. I really wished I could stay longer in this lovely place Everything was perfect.
- Aleš (9/5): Superb - A great place to stay. The hostel is a part of family house, although a separate building. There's a garden just outside which makes for a nice environment. Drinking water was available which is really nice. Also tea. The owner is a nice and helpful person. The location is fine a walking distance from the nearby park and a supermarket. A quiet part of the town. Although it's a hostel I was alone in the room, which was a nice bonus. I recommend this place. The mattress wasn't comfortable, it was more like a thick duvet than a proper mattress so lying comfortably straight wasn't possible.
- Bazil (6/5): Pleasant - I would have preferred a Bottle of water, some paper napkins, and a shelf to keep my bags. It looked like the night I stayed, they gave me one of their own family rooms, the bed and blanket was nice, but did not have the above. The owner Perves was however, polite and kind.
- Romelyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maja (9/5): Superb - The host and his family were really nice and hospitable, they helped me with everything needed. Loved the location, very close to everything.
- Dimitrios (4/5): Kind owner but very cold room. - The owner was very nice and friendly and gave good instructions and it was also a good location.
Internet was generally good. The room was very cold unless you slept in the bed in front of the heater. The rest of the place was very cold. When the owner showed me around to a restaurant he ate some of my food without asking…in addition the price was a bit expensive for the quality. In Baku i could stay in a hostel of similar quality for 8 nights while here it was 2 nights..
- Sai (9/5): Superb - Owner is very friendly, lots of information sent to me for Qabala , room is not new but comfortable , breakfast was great So far nothing
- Christian (10/5): Nice stay in a lovely place - One of the most amazing accommodation I had in Aserbaidschan. The host Parvis was very helpful.
The hostel has a simple standard for a good price. Other accomodations are much more expensive because Quəbələ is a real touristic place with high prices. I would always choose Parvis place again. Nothing.
- Rashad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anshul (8/5): Very good -
- Indraneel (10/5): A memorable local Azerbaijani experience! - Very peaceful and beautiful location. Super kind and helpful host who gave me local recommendations to eat and travel. Authentic local feeling to this place was the highlight. Nothing I can think of really.
- Alankar (9/5): Amazing host, simple but complete facilities, would stay here again. - The host Parviz is incredibly helpful - always ready with a smile and willing to answer questions on WhatsApp and in person. He gave me a list of places to visit, cheap places to eat, and a bunch of pointers to make the experience so much smoother.
The place is simple but has all the essentials and if you think something is missing - just ask Parviz and he will fix it right away.
The WiFi is good. The air-conditioning worked and once I found the hot water switch - hot water was readily available. The sheets are clean and they have fresh towels available. And there’s a nice big yard outside.
The location is close to a big mart and of course Gabala has several other marts within walking distance. Nothing. Everything was great. Parviz made sure of it.
- Akhil (10/5): Exceptional - The host Parvez is an excellent guy who helps you with everything. The facilities and the location (especially the garden) is very good.
- Ghalip (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sébastien (10/5): Exceptional - Host is super friendly and willing to show us around
He's not offering hidden tours, he's willing to take us like the locals to some hidden gem of Gabala
Place is clean
Breakfast included in the morning
Good wifi connection Beds are bit hard but nothing unbearable :)
- Mansour (9/5): Superb - This place is just AMAZING! The family running it is so lovely.
Please note, this is a local guest house/hostel, not a hotel! So you can expect a cute, cozy room with a homey feel, nothing fancy and luxurious but clean and nice.
The guest house has a spacious garden, and the sweet, lovable family is always there to help and assist without ever being intrusive. They live in their own house, while guests stay in a separate small house in the garden, equipped with a toilet and all necessities.
I loved the place and the chance to connect with this beautiful local family. The village is peaceful and perfect for relaxation.
- Hasnaa (10/5): Exceptional - Place super cosy and calm with a lovely family
- Muhammah (10/5): My stay was too good and Host Mr. Parez is an amazing person, so kind and helpful. - Clean and beautiful guest house. Nothing
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - Extremely helpful staff, clean rooms. Nothing to complain about.

- Mr (10/5): Exceptional - Gabala Garden Hostel is a very good hostel. It is like a family home. Whatever you want or need, you can tell the owner and he will help you completely. It is the best in the whole city, the cheapest, the best location, the best behavior, the best cleanliness, the best facilities. Gabala Garden Hostel is a very good hostel. It is like a family home. - Aamir (10/5): Exceptional - Great location! There is a beautiful park and market within walking distance. The host is friendly and helpful, making you feel right at home. They even have a lovely garden to relax in, and the rooms come with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Highly recommend!
- Abdul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Acheuteiene (2/5): Very poor - Breakfast is alright. 1. Way too expensive for what they offer. The price is more than double than a hostel in Baku, Ganja, Sheki...
2. The hostel is actually one small bedroom. It was supposed to be for 4 people, but there were six.
3. The owner uses this only small bedroom to hang out with his friends. Loudly. They arrived quite late at night, passed midnight, and wouldn't stop talking, laughing, talking on the phone, watching TV, and so on. If you are here to rest after a long journey, this is the wrong place. I tried to talk to them but it was useless.
4. I don't speak Azerbaijani, but I could catch my name and country of origin several times within the owner and his friends' conversations. Besides being rude, this isn't the kind of country in which random people should know your personal information for no reason.
5. There's no kitchen, no utensils. Just one knife and some small plates. The only table was fully occupied by the owner's family when I got there. There are no chairs. No bed linen, either.
6. Nobody speaks even a little English. If you run a hostel, you should know a little bit to help your guests. Especially if you charge such a high price.
All in all, it was loud, uncomfortable, and expensive. Wouldn't come back.
- Lydia (10/5): Great stay, lovely family - Such a nice family and they invited us for dinner and tea. You were really welcomed as part of the family. Good location and although they couldn't speak much English could easily use Google translate to chat. Best night sleep in Azerbaijan as it was so quiet. N/A
- Joanne (8/5): Lovely garden and friendly family - The family were very kind and helpful. Mustafa spoke very good English. A short walk into town. Very quiet and peaceful. I stayed in a family bedroom with shared bathroom facilities The property was overpriced compared to other locations In AZERBAIJAN. It would be helpful to have toilet paper for westerners
- Hunain (10/5): Exceptional - Cheapest accommodation to stay in gabala with clean room and washroom. The property is surrounded by mountains with wonderful ambience and astonishing environment inside the property. You will meet here Pervaiz who is so kind, helpful and hospitable. Recommend the travels to stay and worth of money.
- Sebastian (10/5): Exceptional -
- D'arcy (7/5): Nice setting, small bed but friendly and tidy - Lovely garden setting and closer to the mountain to go running and hiking... Seemed to be the cheapest place in town. The owner was very friendly and responsive making it very easy to ask questions and get information. The beds are very small, luckily I'm skinny but I'm tall so I didn't quite fit. The blankets were also very thin and a duvet would be better. The breakfast was fine but not as good as some other stays I've had in Azerbaijan and this was at a higher price than others.
- Samantha (9/5): Superb -
- Zuhayr (10/5): Good value for money and an excellent host - I loved my stay here! The host is incredibly accommodating: him and his friend joined me for dinner on my first night, and his friend drove me to different places when he was free. The beds were ok, but the room was kept warm. It’s near the centre but nice and quiet. Breakfast was brilliant. I would happily stay here again. nil
- Ashik (10/5): Exceptional -
- Makhan (10/5): About 3-4 km from gabala bus station. The place is rooms constructed on the outer boundary of the house. Big open space. -
- Habeeburahman (9/5): Superb -
- Rana (10/5): Exceptional - Every thing Nothing
- Anand (6/5): Pleasant - Great location and room heater are good.
Breakfast free, you get One egg, bread , butter, and Jam. It's like our outhouse room. Toilet space very small.
- Shakeeb (9/5): Superb - Felt like staying in a home. Very cozy and warm inside the room and outside there is a place to sit where you can cook as well. Really enjoyed a quite night there.
The host stays with his family in the same compound. It was more like a guest house. Location is a bit far from the market, city centre and bus/railway station.
Location is difficult to find but the host did help us to reach there.
- V (10/5): Exceptional - Parvis (the owner) is a lovely and kind person who was very welcoming and did everything he could to make sure I was comfortable. He organized a driver to take me to see all the sights and accompanied me as well, taking his time to show me different places. The location was good, with main streets, grocery store and restaurants/cafes nearby. He also invited me into his home to meet his lovely family, who welcomed me, fed me sweets, and made me feel like one of them :) I had a great time and highly recommend staying at Parvis's place.
- Uddin (10/5): Exceptional - You will not meet a better host in the whole of Azerbaijan. Super friendly, Super accommodating and will help you with anything you need for stay in gabala. This location is close to all the attractions in gabala Nothing
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional - Great little place in Gabala. Really comfortable and cozy. The gas fireplace kept the sleeping area nice and warm. Plenty of hot water and the wifi worked great. There's a table and chairs as well as a refrigerator and washer you can use. Tea and coffee are always available in the room too, which is a nice bonus. Parvan was a great host. Very responsive and communicative. He was very helpful and friendly and was able to arrange some day trips for me at really good prices. He also helped me with taxis so I never paid too much. His family is so sweet and kind and I really enjoyed my stay there. Highly recommended! Everything was great!
- Abdul (10/5): Very lovely host, comfortable stay, nice gas fireplace -
- Asentenba (10/5): I had an excellent stay. - It isn’t a fancy place but I felt very comfortable like my own home and the owner couldn’t be more friendly and helpful as I desired.
- Muhammad (8/5): Good Value for Money - It’s one of the very few properties which is affordable for solo travellers when visiting Gabala. The host Pervez made me feel like my own home while being there. He is very hospitable and caring. Breakfast served was immaculate. The place is overall very neat and clean. He served me complementary tea and water all along. The only downside is the beds. They are not comfortable. May be he can replace them with proper mattress and pillows. I slept but it became hard for a person like me to get proper sleep.
- Smadar (10/5): Exceptional - This is a family hostel. I was a single traveler, a woman, Hance they gave me a room in their own house and not in the hosting area. This is a wonderful family who were so friendly and welcoming+ they have adorable little twins.. Everything was clean and smelled so nice. They didn't understand english so we communicated via internet translation. I had a good experience
