Guest Reviews
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Justinas (8/5): Nice and peaceful - Interior and the view into jungle Far from the downtown or a beach. Restaurant works only tik 16:00pm from 8:30am
- Sandi (10/5): We loved everything! We will definitely be back! - The hospitality is amazing. Restaurant/Bar closed too early.
- Rhythm (10/5): Comfortable and cosy - The setup and ambience were great.
The location is good too as it is near to beach via car.
Every detail in room was pretty good.
The private pool adds to the charm. The shower and bath tub in room make it a bit difficult.
Water goes on floor and some mats need to be kept to keep the room dry.
- Vadim (10/5): Exceptional - This place was amazing!! We absolutely loved it!
- Treena (6/5): Decent enough for the type of vacation we wanted - A beautiful, low-key relaxation vibe Abysmal surrounding roads/streets. Property bikes were poor quality and not enough to go around. The on-site restaurant closes at 3:30. plunge pool is shin-level, more like a toe-dipping pool.
- Mengxi (1/5): Such a scam. Avoid at all cost - Nothing because we refuse to stay :( The front desk guy was extremely rude and full of lies. He urged us on WhatsApp to pay online in advance because they don’t accept credit card and the hotel has no signal. When we arrived he wasn’t able to charge us online, and claimed that “I’m not teaching you how to use your phone”, “This is Booking’s problem, not my problem”, “We are not in New York”. He was condescending to us the whole time while we tried to figure out how to pay through booking. Avoid this place at all cost. Also the location was horrible, the restaurant in the hotel closes at 3pm.
- Joanna (7/5): Good -
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - One of the most interesting hotels I’ve ever seen A bit nothing to do when raining, facilities not usable during that time as well
- Gonzalo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Saskia (9/5): Beautiful hotel - Beautiful hotel in the jungle, hotel offers bikes to cycle around as it’s quite remote which was a nice touch. On site restaurant where we ate breakfast. Beautiful rooms which were very well equipped. Kind staff also Be aware of the location when booking, taxi to central Tulum is about 400-500 MXN, or a bit more expensive down to the beach. But it was exactly what we were looking for
- Steven (8/5): Could not recommend it until the roads were improved and the minor issues with the sink and shower were improved. If don - Property was beautifully done with a great variety of spaces and pools and sitting areas and nice dining facilities. Roads to property were absolutely terrible, dirt with big potholes and difficult to traverse. It took about 10 minutes just to get off those roads onto paved roads to have good access to the town.
In addition the shower was over the bathtub with no enclosure and water splashed all over the floor and was very uncomfortable. The sink was fed by a concrete trough that also caused water to splash all over you and the floor as you were using the sink.
- Valentin (9/5): Superb -
- Rawnak (5/5): Terrible middle of nowhere location, would not recommend - The condition of the roads around the property is absolutely abysmal. The roads are absolutely broken and there is construction going on almost all throughout the day. The fact that the location is away from the city center and in the middle of dense greenery / jungle makes it even worse, because you have no way of navigating safely to the city center without calling a taxi. Even driving a rental car is dangerous because there are potholes, jagged rocks, broken down trees everywhere. The location alone makes this place not worth it one bit.
- Marc (9/5): Superb -
- Rachel (9/5): Fantastic rooms and very tranquil. - Amazing concept for a hotel. Loved the nest for the morning sun. Every detail thought about including bug spray which was definitely needed! A very bumpy road to get there. Staff were friendly enough, but challenged us at the pool as if we weren’t staying there.
- Gwendoline (8/5): Amazing infrastructures - Infrastructure, pools Location
- Luca (6/5): We didn’t hate it but wouldn’t book it again. - The pool is nice and the smaller heated pool was great to chill in. The rooms are spacious and the one dish we managed to order at the bar was nice. Marco was very accommodating. The open shower with no curtains made a mess all the time and half the room felt like a swamp. The bar had unclear opening times depending on whom you asked. The staff at the reception didn’t make any extra effort.
- Abdullah (9/5): Superb - Comfortable, beautiful design. The road to the hotel, not paved.
- Yassin (8/5): Very good -
- Tishura (2/5): Very poor - The bath is next to the bed, so everything is always wet.
- Lukas (8/5): Great stay. - We liked the large pool and the overall atmosphere. Also the tower to see some nice sunsets. The bathroom being directly near the bed. Also that you need to go outside to change from bedroom/bathroom to the livingroom. Also keep in mind that its in the middle of the jungle and the road there are really bad.
- Bree (10/5): Amazing and serene 5 star stay! - Rubi Tulum is an amazing hotel, both the rooms and the exterior of the hotel were absolutely gorgeous. We stayed in the luxury villa which was equipped with a private outdoor pool, kitchenette, bath tub/ shower and living room. It was stunning! The staff also helped my husband set up birthday balloons so I was completely surprised when we walked into the room. The bed was very comfortable and the decor suited the environment so well. We loved it! The pool and facilities at the place were also outstanding. The pool was pretty big and there was a cold tub and hot tub, as well. There were lots of seating options around the pool, including day beds and lounge chairs. The restaurant onsite is amazing, shoutout to the chef! We had dinner and breakfast there. They were trying out a new breakfast menu so we had the opportunity to try out the heuvos rancheros, super good. It was overall such a serene setting for a hotel and we would absolutely go back. Alan, Dianne, and all the staff were excellent! The property does require you to either bike or drive into town, but it’s not too far which is great. We actually loved biking in everyday but just an FYI.
- Irene (9/5): Superb -
- R.i. (9/5): Superb -
- Chloe (10/5): Stunning hotel so quiet and peaceful! - Beautiful hotel so peaceful , gorgeous rooms!
- Andrew (10/5): Relaxation personified - It’s really hard to fault this amazing hotel. I felt totally relaxed and at peace in the stunning jungle setting with well-thought out touches and amazing customer service everywhere you turn. I will definitely need a repeat visit. The location is somewhat remote so you do need a care that can handle the terrain. I would’ve appreciate a shower curtain or cubicle to stop the rain going all over the floor. Such a shame the restaurant and bar weren’t open given the time of year and it was disappointing to only be made aware of this upon arrival.
- Naved (9/5): Superb -
- Špela (10/5): A must stay in Tulum! Rubi Tulum! :))) - Everything! :) The details / Nature mixted with local mexican architecture
The outside of the Rubi Hotel komplex
- Lovely pool area / nice day music
- Friendly & helpful staff
- Villa - 3 floors - amazing stay :) The locks of the doors didn't work so we had to change our password daily
Kind reminder: Maybe old school locks with keys would be better :)
- Nikecia (10/5): We will 10000% be returning for a longer stay! Thank you Dayanne - It’s breathtaking! The entire layout and concepts are mesmerizing.
- Ivan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Minz (10/5): Exceptional - Unique and beautiful I like everything
- Chris (10/5): Excellent location and place to relax - Loved the hotel vibe, pool area and location. Bike hire service was great and the food from the restaurant was exceptional. Excellent service from all the staff Polished plaster floors can be slippery when wet. Perhaps consideration of a floor drain outside of the bathtub so the bathroom floors can be dried faster.
- Harsh (9/5): Superb -
- James (9/5): Perfect retreat - Great relaxing vibe. Staff were extremely helpful Difficult to get to places
- Usman (8/5): Overall a great stay I do recommend it if you can get over the annoying shower. - Love the facility, the staff, the cleanliness . I don’t like shower tubs in the room, they tend to leak out and get water everywhere around. It’s inconvenient in my opinion.
- Erol (6/5): Pleasant -
- Atherton (10/5): Exceptional - Rubi is an Amazing hotel! The staff greeted us with a Welcome drink which was delicious! The rooms are beautifully decorated. The rooftop with the pool and the Nest were so romantic. The main pool is a beautiful deep blue color and the waterfall makes it feel very serene. The food at the restaurant is excellent! We will definitely be back! Everything was perfect!
- Bashir (7/5): Good - Its a small cosy hotel The are is on constructions and a lot of dust there
- Toby (10/5): Exceptional -
- Reece (8/5): Fantastic stay and an even better hotel - The property was fantastic. The room we stayed in was 3 floors and the feel around the whole hotel echoed the Tulúm boho vibe. The staff were very attentive and were always there to help with any questions The location was a bit in the middle of nowhere, however the property provided complimentary bikes which we used to get to the centre.
- Max (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sandro (9/5): Superb -
- Tony (7/5): Restaurant is a must visit! Staff at the property and restaurant very friendly, welcoming and professional. - Wonderful restaurant and character of property. Very helpful staff and great atmosphere. The road to the property was did not exist. Open shower that was flooding the room.
- Georgi (10/5): A magical place to stay if you are in Tulum - A magical place to stay if you are in Tulum. Far from the craziness of the beachfront and the downtown. Loved the swimming pools - both the private in the villa and the public one. The rooms were cleaned two times a day and the bed was really comfortable. Everyone was also really kind and helpful. The hotel is within a new neighbourhood with a lot of construction going on. The nearest restaurants are 30 mins walking distance. The restaurant was a bit pricey, but there is also the option to order online from restaurants in Tulum. Make sure to have a rent-a-car if you book here, as it will be much more convenient and cost effective to move around town.
- Brenda (8/5): Beautiful surroundings but service could be better - The villa is beautiful and very comfortabele and private. Great bed. Nice Pool and decoration. Beautiful sunrise/set from your own rooftop. The hotel have bikes u can use if they are availble. There was a sewer smell from the toilet in our room. Also had to ask for new tea and Coffee everyday. They can arrange everything but the prices are shocking. A taxi for 1200 pesos for just a 20 min drive to a cenote. We arranged our own transport and tour after that, for much cheaper prices. Also if you don.t want to pay with creditcard u have to pay immediately, that didn.t feel relaxed at all. They charge extra if you want to pay later. When they noticed that we were not planning to build up another expensive bill at the hotel, they were not as nice anymore.
The food at the restaurant was ok not great. We eat out almost everyday. The location is not that comfortabel.
The road to the hotel is very bumby. And taxidrivers ask 350 pesos for 5 minute drive to town. If u arrange your own scooter (not at the hotel, way more expensive) u can go everywhere pretty easy and it will save u a lot of money. Be aware for Police and watch the roadsigns very carefully. They are there to give u outragous fines of 10.000 pesos if u drive the wrong direction. Tulum it self is very overrated. When u come to tulum bring a lot of money. It is more expensive than a lot of places in Paris and the Netherlands. U will be shocked. And if want to go the beach. There is no public beach left. U have to get in line (very long time) to pay for the beach.
- Erwan (9/5): Superb - Modern and design good food
- Sam (9/5): Superb -
- Zoe (7/5): Good - The hotel itself is amazing. Our room was incredible and the pool and seating areas are beautiful. You ideally need a car or scooter if you want to stay here, otherwise you will be spending money on taxis (which were very expensive, 300pesos to town, 500pesos to the beach) or cycling as there is nothing close you can walk to. The breakfast isn't included and it is really expensive (it cost £50 for 2 of us to have a coffee and breakfast), but there isn't anything else around, so we brought food from the town to enjoy in our room. Really the breakfast should be included in the price of the room so people can have a more enjoyable stay.
- Marc (10/5): Phenomenal tulum hotel - Absolutely stunning property that is very cool and different and has overall
Once of the best vibes of any hotel I’ve stayed at. Super sexy place to stay for a long weekend in tulum. last 1/2 mile is a very rocky road that needs to be paved
- Кристина (10/5): Exceptional - This hotel is perfect and wonderful place. Service is at highest level. But no one writes that there is a construction site outside the territory , and this whole area is one big construction site. Taxi is more expensive This hotel is perfect and wonderful place. Service is at highest level. But no one writes that there is a construction site outside the territory , and this whole area is one big construction site. Taxi is more expensive
- Kweku (9/5): Superb -
- Venice (10/5): Staying at Rubi Tulum is an amazing, invigorating and zen experience. - The ambiance, the relaxing natural decor, the cleanliness, the plants!! I felt like we were surrounded by nature and the natural world. The food at the hotel was amazing as well. The front desk staff are so warm and friendly. I didn't like the 🛀 bathtub. It was not surrounded by a shower curtain and so water spilled over the sides when we showered... Messy.
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (10/5): Fantasy will definitely visit again - So romantic quiet and truly elegant place to spend time with my husband. The construction on neighboring properties
- Dirk (10/5): Perfect getaway, we will be back!!! - Rubi is beautiful and the room's atmosphere is well-decorated, spacious, and clean. The main pool is a bit cold as trees surround it, but the second pool on the rooftop gets a lot of sun and it is great to have food and drinks served there, the restaurant is a bit pricey but the food its by above average quality. All staff in the hotel are super friendly and helpful! We felt immediately welcome! The location is a bit remote but privileged as is far from the tourist and noisy area. We rented a scooter, both the beach and the city are super accessible! Nothing, the places is great!
- Taylor (9/5): Great place, loved the ambiance and privacy. Would stay here again! - Smaller hotel, adults only hidden away. Loved that it was more private and not so busy like a typical resort. Room was great with 3 different floors and private pool. Loved being able to lay in the “nest” at night and look at the stars! Staff was very friendly and helpful with any requests or help getting taxis/booking excursions. Free bikes were nice and the ride to town wasn’t too bad even on the back gravel roads. Water fountain to fill up water bottles was nice. Breakfast was very good but a little pricey. Overall, loved the facility, very clean and relaxing. I would definitely stay here again! Shower is a tad awkward and very messy which used up most of the towels. However, staff was able to provide extra towels when needed-perhaps some sort of floor drain would’ve been helpful. Door to the bedroom should have optional covering for the window because I could see my neighbors while I was showering which was also a tad awkward. Roads are all gravel/very bumpy (not surprising because you’re in the jungle) which I’m sure will improve in the next few years as there are a lot of upcoming hotels/construction and taxis are overpriced trying to get to town or the beach-recommend a car or motor bike to get around.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brenda (10/5): The best service! - Rubi staff is very attentive, has great communication, and has a vast knowledge of the area and that brings a lot to our stay as we did not plan many things, we rely on their suggestions to go out, explore surrounding areas and navigate Tulum.
Rooms are comfortable and well decorated, with jungle views, amazing beds, and great amenities.
Rubi is not just a hotel but a place where hospitality and attention to detail are noticeable. We can highly recommend it. The road to get there is very bumpy but once you get to Rubi you forget about it!
- Ute (10/5): Perfect stay! - Fantastic! The rooms at Rubi are spacious, tastefully decorated, and equipped with modern amenities to ensure a comfortable stay. The plush bedding guarantees a restful night's sleep, while the private balconies offer breathtaking views of the surrounding natural beauty. The on-site restaurant serves an array of delectable dishes, ranging from local specialties to pizzas fired in the pizza oven, prepared using fresh and locally sourced ingredients. The attentive staff ensures impeccable service, adding to the overall dining experience. The service is exemplary, with attentive staff going above and beyond to cater to guests' needs. From seamless check-in and personalized assistance to prompt room service. Overall Rubi offers a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and tranquility, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a memorable getaway. Only thing that needs to be improved are the surrounding roads, but I highly recommend a stay at the Rubi.
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Isaac (6/5): Had a pleasant, relaxing stay at Rubi Tulum, and the members of staff were all very friendly. However, it feels a few st - - The place looks great. The rooms are beautifully designed and the pool area is lovely
- The pool itself isn’t heated, but that’s nice after a hot day. There’s also a heated hot tub area just next to the pool if it gets too cold
- Private garden and pool very nice and peaceful
- The staff are all very friendly, helpful and attentive
- The food is generally really good quality and the breakfast smoothies in particular are excellent
- Free bike hire, with the beach an easy 25-minute cycle away - Constant smell of damp in the room. We had a ground floor apartment, and there’s clearly an air flow/ventilation issue because the room smelled like damp the entire time we were there
- That’s a problem made worse by the bath and shower set-up, which looks great but is completely style over substance. The shower head is positioned directly over the bath, but a lack of screen or curtain means that there is no way to not splash water everywhere — particularly between the back of the bath tub and the external wall. Having a bath doesn’t solve the problem, because the tap doesn’t extend far enough over the bath, so while most of the water does end up where it’s supposed to, a large amount also splashes off the rim and behind the tub onto the floor. Luckily the hotel left us three big towels each day: two for us and one for constantly mopping up the pools of water that were on the floor
- Some drinks very expensive. To be expected in Tulum, but 2 cups of breakfast tea for £12 felt extortionate
- Katie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marsh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Huy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kavonna (10/5): Our stay was amazing and we will be back! - Getting to the hotel was a bit confusing as it is in the jungle but once we arrived we were in awe! Everything from the property to the staff was amazing! nothing!
- Daniel (9/5): Superb - It's a tropical oasis with very attentive staff. I would highly reccommend it to anyone that wants to escape the hotel zone madness. The last km of the road is very bumpy. The restaurant (outsourced) is pricey, especialy for breakfast I would wish to have other options than paying for yogurt 12 USD. True that you have an option of stacking up your own fridge.
- Sarah (9/5): Unique place to stay, 2 nights is probably about right unless you want to stay in the hotel. - The food is amazing and the rooms are simply dream like. The staff are so helpful and friendly they go out of their way to help you have a great stay. We enjoyed taking the bikes to town for trips in the daytime. The property is on a long bumpy jungle road - all fine but i felt bad about asking taxi drivers to go down there and there’s no way to any restaurants at night because it’s too dangerous to take the bikes in the dark and too far to walk. Expect to add 80-90 USD to every trip out to the beach area for food etc, slightly cheaper to Tulum centre.
The shower over the bathtub is beautiful but impractical as the floor and wall gets very wet.
- Pinchas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Spiro (10/5): Excellent - Booking.com Beautiful hotel & staff was very accommodating
- Samantha (8/5): Very good -
- Raymond (9/5): Superb -
- Joanne (6/5): Beautiful hotel - Visually breathtaking and fun hotel with a unique design and great staff - free to use bicycles and twice daily room cleaning. Very comfortable beds, beautiful furnishings and loved the music played all day. We stayed in a penthouse villa with 3 floors. Bedrooms are very compact and 2 people will be sidestepping each other to get dressed/use the bathroom etc.. Kitchen facilities are good but no kitchen tools are given or basic necessities like salt or oil to use. Shower design over the bathtub with no curtain drenches the bedroom/bathrooom floor. Construction noise from the morning all day across the street and all around you in the jungle means no peace. The on-site restaurant serves an odd mix of dishes like foie gras, hamburgers and tacos. Unless you are going to rent a car to get to the hotel and explore everyday, getting to town means navigating giant potholes filled with muddy water on a bicycle (rather fun) but takes 25 mins to do 2kms or costs USD$25 one way (this is standard for anywhere any short distance in Tulum. It's not walkable and not at night. So the location is not ideal. Transport shuttles from the hotel into town would be great. I would say the rooms are all a little close together and don't give the sense of privacy you would hope for.
- Caris (4/5): Pretty but don’t recommend staying here - The staff at Ruby were lovely and the pool area is beautiful. We booked for 6 nights but left after 5 nights.
Rubi is located in a construction zone. There are no established buildings for over 1km in any direction. Rubi plays music during the day but you can still hear the power tools, hammering and heavy machinery all day.
The roads are so damaged from the construction work that it takes 30 minutes to Taxi into town. The Taxis will charge you between 350 and 800 pesos each way. If you decide to stay here, make sure you agree on a price BEFORE getting in the Taxi as they do not have meters and unfortunately, we had many Drivers who were opportunistic - demanding 800 pesos once we reached town.
We booked a penthouse room, which are spread over 3 floors. It’s very small and pokey and we felt uncomfortable with the lack of space. There’s not one area in the entire penthouse large enough to open a suitcase (unless you do so on the bed).
The showerhead is located directly above the bath and water floods the bedroom. It can’t be avoided (even if only turning the tap on slightly). This affects all rooms and Rubi told us about it at Check-in.
The flooding was an issue for us as the area is all ready small and pokey, so you’re left with water puddles beside your bed/wetting your bedding and the room is constantly wet and damp, and smells wet and damp.
The only toilet in the penthouse rooms is next to the bed.
You are given 1 complimentary bottle of water per room per day. After you have drunk this, you will need to pay for drinks from the Mini Bar which range between 120 and 3500 pesos. We found this disappointing. A “luxury” hotel should ensure that guests have access to complimentary water at all times.
The Restaurant attached to the hotel does good food and prices range between 300 and 900 pesos per dish.
Unfortunately I can’t recommend Rubi however, if you do decide to stay here then I would only recommend this hotel for 1 or 2 nights MAXIMUM. It is not suitable for long term stays.
My recommendations for Rubi
1.
- Taniya (9/5): Superb -
- Stephanie (9/5): Superb - The staff were great, the place looks incredible and the food was perfect. It is exactly as it appears in the pictures. There is no shower curtain and the shower is located right next to the bed so water goes everywhere. With this and a polished floor it means it is very slippy and on one evening where I missed mopping up some water I slipped and bruised my leg quite badly. Similarly it rained on my stay and the steps up to the different floors of your room were very dangerous.
The road to Rubi was very bumpy and with the rain it was hard to negotiate the potholes and not get stuck.
- Dan (5/5): Not worth the money but a good stay. - Great staff, the front of house were so helpfull and always on call. Beautiful hotel from the outside, the food was good. Nice cocktails. Cool bridges that connect everything and the viewpoint. The road to the location is caos and at night you cant really walk around as theres no lights. The room layout was really strange, the smell of the rooms (the bed curtains in the room don't get cleaned so they smell damp and in turn put a fowl smell in the room.) Toilet is very small. The shower in the bath just doesn't work and is a hazard. Poorly designed rooms.
- Astrid (10/5): Excellence - Love the design, very beautiful and spacious. Staff are very nice. Affordable price. Beyond expectation. Will come back next time. No paved road to get to the hotel, hard to drive.
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional - This place is breath taking its beautiful staff is amazing! Decoración & Food
- Badr (9/5): Superb -
- Eva (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dianelys (10/5): i was such a wonderful stay, and the staff of the hotel make it even a better one. - the property was amazing i wouldn’t change a thing. just the road leading to it.
- Ludivine (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel is beautifully designed and everything is set for privacy, quiet and luxury. The rooms are absolutely beautiful and I loved the split levels which all had a different purpose. The terrace with the view and private pool were just jaw dropping. The road to get to the hotel is a dirt road and we travelled by scooter so that was an adventure. But totally worth it.
Also, there's quite bit of construction around the hotel so if you're on the side of it, you'll hear work early in the morning and possibly some Mexican music being played by workers lol
- Sarah (10/5): Merveilleux - Aestetic of the hotel is gorgeous, very peaceful swimming pool area, feels like one with nature
- Allen (10/5): Exceptional - We really like that it felt secluded and private, but wasn't far from everything. The property is beautiful! Great food and drinks. Staff were amazing in how they treated us. Highly recommend! We look forward to coming back. The only issue we noticed is the hotel is located in a neighborhood that is just getting started. So the main road entry is a bit rough, but I can only assume that with more development of the area, the road will get better.
- Henry (9/5): Fabulous, but prepare for rough roads! - Our room was beautiful (we had one of the rooms with the pool and the seating area on the roof). The ground floor rooms are less private as they have small (high level) windows facing the pool area and restaurant in some cases.
The overall look of the hotel is lovely, the pool in the middle is massive and the lightning and planting are all wonderful.
The location of the hotel is pretty good as it’s quite easy to access the beach (a few minutes taxi down one straight road plus the bumpy jungle road mentioned below). You cannot walk as it’s way too far but the bikes are useful for a day trip to the beach. Tulum is a bit weird as there is loads of space to build but hotels are somewhat scattered through the jungle and not walking distance to the beach. This hotel is down an isolated dirt road that is absolutely terrible. There was a huge flooded section at the entrance when we were there that was almost impassable, but the alternative roads that Google maps sent us down had us driving through bushes to get there pretty much. You need a good quality hire car to handle these roads. Rubi is the only completed development on this road so presumably it will be a bit better in a year or two, but probably not amazing as roads in Tulum are worse than anywhere else we drove in Mexico. Having said that, whilst the road seemed daunting initially it didn’t have much impact on us, just be prepared as it can be a bit scary when you see them at first but it’s doable.
Generally speaking the food and drinks were reasonably priced (about 120 pesos or £6 for a beer, some cocktails at 200 pesos / £10, and food similar to other areas in Tulum. However, the price for coffee is outrageous; a cappuccino costs 150 pesos, about £7.50. So we had no coffee with breakfast because I refuse to support that. Not even the best hotels in the world charge such outrageous prices for a coffee with breakfast. Also the only champagne in the minibar is a half bottle at £175 which is also pointless.
- Mohammad (10/5): I wouldn’t have done Tulum any different! So Rubi tulum all the way! - Everything! Highlights are the food in the restaurant which was one of the best in Mexico, the staff who were extremely friendly and knowledgeable and of course the design of the hotel.
- Martaklimczak (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ahmed (10/5): An amazing hotel m, great service and an absolutely magnificent staff - The Service, the team and the hotel is exceptional Adan and Ricardo have been super helpful not just in the hotel, but also helping us with recommendations and places to visit.
The restaurant was amazing, quality food and service. The roads around the hotel
- Julian (10/5): Small oasis in the jungle - Wonderful hotel and delightful staff. A small oasis in the middle of the jungle. From the aesthetics (architecture, design) to the quality of services (equipment, food and drinks), lovely experience. A special thanks to Adan, Rodrigo and the other employees who are not only helpful but also very friendly. We also appreciated the bikes for free to move freely in the area. The shower head is above the bathtub, therefore a bit difficult not to splash water around. A separate shower would have been better. Having said that, the staff provided us with an extra towel to put it around the bathtub.
- Ricky (9/5): Superb - Everything was excellent - incredible food and staff!
- Francesca (10/5): Amazing hotel in Tulum! - Everything was really amazing! The hotel is fantastic, is really new and the design is awesome in every part. The room with private terrace and private pool is a real treat!
We read some reviews that criticized the street to reach the hotel and we were a bit concerned but I need to say that, even if is a dirt road is quite easy to arrive a the hotel.
Ricardo was really nice and helpful with lots of advices!
Definitely recommended! Hope we will have the chance to come back! Everything was great, the only thing that I would suggest to improve is the shower/bathtub because is really hard to have a shower without spilling water on the floor.
- Rupali (10/5): Exceptional -
- Natalie (10/5): I'll be back for sure - The hotel is amazingly beautiful, Perfect ,unique , located in the jungle ( far away from the beach ),Looks like its Robinzon Cruzo's house. The hotel staff is kind, nice and incredibly helpful. There is an excellent chef restaurant on site.
you better rent a car if you want to travel and spend some time at the beach.
Highly recommended 👌 The downsides are the access to the hotel and the amount of mosquitoes.
- Ann-marie (9/5): Rubi Tulum is a great place for some peace and quiet. - The location is perfect if you want to be away from all the hustle and crowd! The location in the jungle is so peaceful and zen! The food was great and the property is vey clean and well kept. The staff members were exceptional. Diego and Ricardo went above and beyond to help us plan and organize our day trips and transportation. Only one restaurant on site. The menu options were also limited. It was also very pricey! I also didn’t like the shower/tub in the room. Whenever you shower the entire floor gets wet going all the way up to the bed.
- Laura (10/5): A unique and luxurious stay with incredible food. - The design of the property is fantastic and unique. It's a wonderful oasis in the jungle. We stayed in the three storey villa that you enter via the rope bridges. It's great to have a seating area in addition to the bed room / bathroom and we loved the rooftop lounge area with the dipping pool and lounge mattress (great for sunrises and sunsets).
We were BLOWN AWAY by the restaurant. It was the best food we had in Tulum (and yes we went to Hartwood which is also great) and we were super pleasantly surprised. The breakfast beef quessadilla is the best I've ever had and the octopus and salad was also fab. The cocktails were also high quality.
The staff were super friendly and helpful giving us tips for the area.
The pool is also fantastic with plenty of spots to lounge.
We would stay here again for sure. It is a bit off the beaten track and 15 min drive to the beach resorts but taxis are available.
The shower above the bathtub was a bit awkward without a shower curtain.
Beware mosquitos - bring spray. Although this is throughout Tulum and Rubi provided spray also.
- Emil (9/5): Superb -
- Tazmin (10/5): Will definitely return! - Food is amazing but very pricey
- Rafik (9/5): Superb -
