• Heather (9/5): A sea lovers dream - The location is exceptional. The historical house is wonderful. Such a unique place to stay. A perfect place to stay before heading to Palermo Airport. Looking through the shutters to the sea and listening to the sea with the shutters open at night was just perfect!
• Sharon (6/5): Loved the location and vibe. If providing cooking facilities they need to be cleaned. - The location and the rustic/vintage vibe. The beds were clean and comfortable. Our requests were address promptly. Cooking facilities and equipment was not clean especially the coffee pod machine.

• Shuai (9/5): Beautiful seaside hidden gem brought back to its former glory - The house is decorated with refined taste and has lovely guest meeting room, dining room, front garden. View from the room is very healing as you can directly see the turquoise Mediterranean sea in front of you. Nothing really...shower could be hotter but it is a matter of personal preference.

• Connor (10/5): - Host reached out ahead of time to ask when we would arrive to meet us. He showed us around the property and to our room pointing out anything we would need. He graciously found us a beach blanket to use one day as we had left ours behind. The view is incredible and the property is quiet which made it an amazing place for vacation.

• Dante (6/5): Bene, ma non d'inverno - Mi dispiace veramente non poter lasciare una recensione entusiastica come le altre che leggo, perchè in realtà la struttura è davvero molto bella, ha un suo fascino particolare, una posizione straordinaria e mi sentirei di raccomandarla senz'altro. Ma nella stagione estiva! Perchè a febbraio (quando siamo andati noi) viene riscaldata in modo precario ed inadeguato. l'Host dovrebbe segnalare che in inverno la camera ed il bagno sono riscaldati con mezzi di fortuna. Si tratta di stufette a paraffina, senza esalazione verso l'esterno, che quando in funzione rilasciano nella stanza un forte odore di idrocarburi. Le avvertenze di sicurezza per altro riportano che non possono essere usate in modo continuativo, dunque inadeguate. Nel nostro caso, l'host non si è visto nè all'arrivo, nè alla partenza. Peccato.
• Gytis (6/5): This stay is a whole different experience, don’t expect very comfortable conditions, but if You want to stay at authenti - The location, the views, the building itself, the patio, also the stuff was very friendly and helpful. Not clean, especialy the kitchen area, also very cold in the rooms (in february), and the heater made very intense smell of kerosene.

• Verena (1/5): Schmuddelige, heruntergekommene Unterkunft zu überrissenem Preis. - Einen Tag vor Ankunft bietet mir die Vermieterin einen «free upgrade» von der Casa del Rais für das Hauptgebäude, Gartenseite, an. Auf meine Rückfrage betreffend den Unterschied zwischen den beiden Unterkünften schreibt sie: «I suggest you to move to the main building as interior design is better.» Damit erkläre ich mich einverstanden. Bei unserer Ankunft stellen wir fest, dass die gesamte Anlage einen verwahrlosten Eindruck macht. Die Unterkunft ist schmuddelig, heruntergekommen und unhygienisch, es riecht unangenehm. Die Küche ist schmutzig. Die Aussicht auf den Garten entpuppt sich als Aussicht auf die Strasse und den aufgegebenen Bahnhof. Wenn das Hauptgebäude besser sein soll als die Casa del Rais, muss diese noch schlechter sein. Was wir antreffen, entspricht in keiner Art und Weise dem Eindruck, den die Beschreibungen und die Bilder erweckt haben. Wir beschliessen, dass wir hier nicht bleiben können und müssen uns eine andere Unterkunft suchen. Leider ist die Vermieterin bei unserer Ankunft und auch später nicht anwesend, wir werden von einer Hilfskraft empfangen. Hätte sich die Vermieterin blicken lassen, hätten wir die Probleme vor Ort besprechen können. Das war nicht möglich. Anderntags informiere ich die Vermieterin über unsere Beschwerde und darüber, dass wir die Unterkunft nicht haben nutzen können. Ich teile ihr mit, dass der Preis von 750 Euro für 3 Nächte überrissen und unverschämt ist. Ich fordere eine Rückerstattung. Sie zeigt kein Verständnis und versucht, sich herauszureden. Wie ich erst später sehe, sind unsere Beanstandungen nicht die ersten dieser Art.

• Giuseppe (8/5): Struttura meravigliosa, servizi da migliorare - La location è stupenda. Dalla finestra si sente il rumore del mare. La tonnara ti dà la sensazione di fare un salto nel passato. La figlia del proprietario è stata molto gentile nel mostrarci i magazzini, dandoci spiegazioni molto valide e approfondite La camera non era estremamente pulita. In una struttura del genere mi sarei aspettato la camera riassettata in due giorni. Inoltre sarebbe un plus per la struttura, visto anche il costo, fornire una prima colazione magari proprio in spiaggia o nel bellissimo giardino, nonché un calice di benvenuto all'arrivo.
• maeve (8/5): Stunning ‘ photo shoot’ location on fabulous beach - Absolutely stunning location on a fabulous beach . Beach chairs available to sit on ( stone rather than sand) beach . Sound of crashing waves was magnificent by day and night . Lovely blue rattan furniture and chairs to sit on and face the beach. Similar green furniture in garden on other side . Lovely garden and well maintaining . The entire house , its style and its decor whilst not modern should not be modern as the the aesthetic is perfect . There’s great history to the house and I was intrigued by all the big ropes in the lower floors ( which is why I read up on the history). You clearly book Rooms that gave the beach or face the garden . We booked a one room apartment for 3 and had no idea that it was up 5 flights of stairs up in the tower . We are fit and so climbing stairs is not an issue but the photos led us to believe we were on the ground floor and would just step out onto the beach . We were in the ‘Tower’ and it is beautiful but I just didn’t expect such a climb. The bathroom is a floor lower that the apartment itself and that’s two sets of steep stairs where extreme caution is advised if going to bathroom in middle of night . The hostess very kindly offered to change us to first floor but that meant garden view only and sharing a kitchen - I like my privacy and I have no intention of taking responsibility if others don’t clean up . We didn’t meet any staff except for Stali who is the housekeeper I believe . He showed us our apartment and was helpful but doesn’t speak English . But saying that , I don’t speak Italian . We didn’t see him really during our stay and saw no one else . Hot water ran out for over 24 hours and I was disappointed that there was no reply to my text about this . I don’t mind a cold shower but had to boil water in pots to wash dishes . Bathroom needs a new shower curtain

• Max (9/5): lovely views and a charming old building - We loved staying in the tower of this beautiful old building. The room was decorated very nicely and we had our own kitchenette. The view of the ocean from our window was breathtaking. The garden was a peaceful spot and there were lots of communal areas to hang out. Having no aircon meant we had to sleep with a loud fan and the windows open to the noises of the restaurant below which went till 2am some nights. The hot water went out at one stage but did come back on. It was not always easy to find staff.

Couldn’t open windows because there was no fly screen, and staying a Saturday night meant the club down the road was extremely loud until 4am.

• Izzy (10/5): A peaceful, beautiful and fulfilling stay by the sea in a charming historic building. I wish we stayed longer. - A relaxing, charming and peaceful stay. I don’t understand the negative reviews - you should understand when booking that this is a historic building with charm and decor that fits the style of the building. This stay won’t be equivalent to a hotel but instead it is an experience and a rare opportunity to stay in the most beautiful historic building on the sea with a cool, well kept garden. N/A

• Svea (10/5): a gift to oneself - We liked magnificent sound of the sea and the sea breeze that flowed in from all the windows and doors widely open. Decoration was beautiful and cool the vibe inside and outside was so different from ordinary places. we had also the luck to meet the owner who talked about the history of his family`s tonnara. It was so interesting and such a pleasure. This is really really special and wonderful place to stay.

• Julia (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed in the independent Casa and this had our own terrace which was just amazing. The location couldn’t possibly be more beautiful. The place was super spacious and could accommodate more than 2 people. We enjoyed the quiet, the sound of the waves and having pizza right on the beach. Absolutely amazing 🥰 There’s not much to do in walking distance but that’s not necessarily a negative thing. Furniture/bathroom is not super modern but fits the charm and the style of the the building.
• Isabel (8/5): Very good - Unique and beautiful place with amazing sea views. The decor is "classic, but it's all very nice. Seems a bit pricey for the dated interior, but sea view and solitude of the place make up for it. We wanted to stay at the premises after checkout which would have cost 10 EUR per person - seemed a bit expensive, as there was no shower room or anything, just for staying in the garden / at the beach and having access to coffee and water... (and the night cost 216 EUR)....
