Guest Reviews
- Tania (10/5): Peace in the pasture - What a fabulous place to rest and relax. We had perfect sunny days, morning coffee with the sun soaking in. Afternoons on the deck watching the sheep and horses frolicking in the sunshine. We were treated to an aerial display from distant crop dusting. We were super cosy at night and every little detail had been thought of. There were extra little goodies just in case you forgot something and plenty of walks, waterfalls and lakes to pass the time. Total peace and quiet. Our host was super communicative, we would highly recommend.
- Emily (8/5): -
- Hana (10/5): Perfect - It was perfect we went for the night before rnv but it’s a perfect get away
- Vatsal (10/5): It was wonderful family trip and the property was excellent. Full of facilities.. - Excellent amenities, location and experience.
- Russell (7/5): Comfortable for our needs - Nice quiet location. Plenty of room for our group of 4. Good shower.comfortable bedding No dryer microwave didn’t work.cooking utensils particularly the frying pan very dated
- Joby (10/5): -
- Susan (8/5): We liked staying in an authentic farm house on a real farm - The view of sheep mustering from the front porch
Even though the highway was close by, it had the atmosphere of a real stay in the country
Very clean and tidy
Everything you could need all provided
- Kelli (10/5): Lovely and quiet overnight stay - The facilities were great, clean and tidy with many personal touches which were appreciated.
It made our stay so enjoyable having everything that we needed at hand.
Pleasant surroundings and quiet location. Very calming and relaxing.
Definitely value for money and highly recommended. Not a dislike just a heads up for others that the house does creak a little at night but I was well aware this would happen so no surprises there. That's one of the features of a wooden Lockwood home and adds character 😊
- Wendy (8/5): Very good - My son loved the pancake mix for breakfast; location was perfect as we were driving to Gisborne and it was the right place to stop. Great rural setting. Would stay again.
- Robert (9/5): Superb - House was in ideal location which we used simply as a stoppver. We should have guessed that being wooden, the house did nothing but creak all night.
- Kassandra (6/5): Nostalgic - Very oldschool vibes, felt homely, had what you needed. The house creaks so loudly I had a very poor sleep. Outside sitting porch directly faces the other house.
- John (10/5): Would definitely retun - Excellent in all respects. Exceeded expectations. Generously furnished. Nothing to dislike here.
- Matilda (10/5): Exceptional - Such a relaxing place to stay. Sadly for us it was raining so we couldn't enjoy the calm views outside. The owner responded quickly and was helpful when we had questions. Rooms were spacious and we appreciated the free breakfast and small stuff provided for our one night stay. Was lovely and would come again if I was near the area. Just didn't realise how long of a drive it would be from rotorua to here so the drive was difficult and it was quite far with lots of mountain roads we had to go on. Wifi was a little slow.
- Santosh (10/5): Excellent, clean and peaceful stay - Minute details, comfortable stay and warm beds exceeded my expectations...😊 Nothing really...
- Amanda (9/5): The perfect place to relax and recharge after Waikaremoana Great Walk. - This was the perfect place to safter finishing the Waikaremoana great walk. It’s about 1.5 hrs drive from Onepoto Road end, so not too far to go if you finish late. It was easy to access, the facilities were super comfortable, and all the added extras were so lovely! We really enjoyed having hot showers (loved the provided toiletries), cooking a hearty meal in the full kitchen, then snuggling under the soft blankets on the sofas. Nothing.
- Grahame (10/5): A beautiful little house, surrounded by tranquil countryside. Very comfortable. -
- Laxmidhar (8/5): Very good -
- Andrew (7/5): Clean with adequate facilities in a quiet rural setting. Ideal. - the location suited our requirements there was nothing that we found problematic
- Cliff (10/5): Perfection location to break our bike ride between Wairoa & Napier - Great house in rural location
- Nick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tari (10/5): Beautiful - It’s in a good location, plenty of space, good amount of bedding for cold nights and far enough away from the road to not hear the big trucks in the middle of the night. It was like a nice little home away from home. The air freshener smelt really nice too It got really cold and the heaters didn’t do much BUT there were plenty of blankets so we just piled them on
