Guest Reviews
- Anita (9/5): Book it ! We will return as a lovely relaxing stay. - A stunning location - up a long lovely drive. Place was tip top and we wld highly recommend. The owners were lovely and it was v dog friendly and clean. The upstairs bathroom was a bit unusual and not really private but everything else was lovely.
- Michele (10/5): Perfect stay with my adult daughters. Definitely recommend - Great location. Comfy beds. Good showers. Sunny garden. Hot tub got cold when in it

- Kirsty (10/5): Cute and cosy stay. - The whole property, decor and facilities.
Set in beautiful grounds.
- Michelle (10/5): Hares barn. Lovely - The place was clean and tidy. Peaceful at night no noises or signal. Ee and Vodafone re no signal or service. Tv remote was intermittent, no supplies to tidy up. Stairs were open ended so I felt a bit cautious as a plus size person climbing them. Finding the place at night for first night. Our fault we got lost.
There was no "welcome pack" for WiFi password but didn't think of asking. We were there to.see friends and family so didn't need it.
- Susan (8/5): Very private and relaxed. - It was well heated and very comfortable Nothing
- Walker (10/5): Beautiful barn in the countryside - Beautiful barn with everything we needed for a family of three and two dogs. Well located for lots of places we wanted to visit. Nothing we didn't like.
- Alicia (5/5): Lovely setting and grounds, no bathroom privacy for upstairs occupants. - Lovely location, well equipped kitchen although a little short of food storage space, great drinks fridge, great kitchen fridge, good dining table. Local takeaways happy to deliver. Huge lack of privacy for upstairs guests. This experience has taught me to read back further than a few reviews, then I would have realised the property was unsuitable for me. The open plan nature of the property, (excluding the downstairs bedroom and ensuite which had doors to each of those rooms) and the lack of doors or even a curtain, mean that when you are on the toilet upstairs, doing what you are doing, whoever is downstairs can hear exactly the nature of your business just as if you are all in the same room.

- Kelly (8/5): Beautiful break - It’s privacy. Lack of WiFi due to young children but still a lovely break not really a negative.
- David (10/5): Really enjoyable stay with visits from owners doggie which was always welcome 😀 - Great property, great hosts Possibly curtains to main door / window for privacy at night / in the morning

- Barclay (9/5): Great stay in a beautiful building and location. Place was clean and set out really well. - Beautiful location and very nice set out and decorated. The lack of privacy for the guest staying in the upstairs room. A curtain or something at the top of the stairs would be a nice addition
- Caryn (2/5): Could have been lovely but fundamental issues ruined our stay; host not accepting responsibility - The kitchen was clean Was greeted with the smell of urine; tracked it down to the downstairs en-suite bathroom. It looked clean but the stench was awful; when we opened the window, the flies came in, attracted by the smell. The shower smelled of urine too. Loads of spiders that had been there for ages judging from the partly digested insect corpes. The inside of the bathroom door was dirty, with a film of pale yellow liquid. The downstairs bedroom had a sliding door but it was extremely stiff to move and you could only close it half way which meant zero privacy, loads of light coming through by 4.30am and the dog able to come and jump on the bed. It had obviously not been closing for some time as there was a groove in the flooring and black scuff marks on the floor. I'd asked for a summer weight quilt (being the start of June) but there was a 10.5 tog winter-weight quilt on the bed but the host had left a couple of throws (we took a blanket just in case the host hadn't left any). The description says 'coffee machine' so I enquired about the model so I could bring compatible capsules but the host said it was actually a cafetiere (but they offered to leave a Nespresso machine so that was appreciated). The upstairs en-suite bathroom is completely open plan to the bedroom with no privacy whatsoever and is open to the downstairs (a black-out curtain at least across the bedroom would block the light from downstairs and give privacy in the bathroom), people travelling as a group need to be aware of that! Our guests ended up using our downstairs loo when privacy was needed! The outside patio isn't as private as the advert would lead you to believe. Once one couple decided to go to bed, the others needed to as well so as to give quietness in the downstairs bedroom, due to the downstairs bedroom door not closing. The downstairs sliding robe door was off it's runners, wouldn't close (host said it broke last week and part had been ordered).
- Susan (4/5): Unsatisfactory - The bed was comfortable and clean sofas scruffy with marks on . kitchen cupboard doors grubby cobwebs in alcoves of windows. Tiles in shower smelt. Out door chairs covers dirty. Rug had what looked like dog hairs. Bathroom towel had marks on as did sofas . Bio fold doors need a good clean. we we're very disappointed in fact on Sunday evening I wanted to come home. I feel we paid a lot of money for accommodation that wasn't up to standard. we have stayed lts of cottages and this is a first

- Kirsten (9/5): Beautiful and comfortable dog-friendly barn in a really peaceful spot a short drive from Trowbridge and Frome. - Beautiful dog-friendly barn in a really peaceful spot a short drive from Trowbridge and Frome. Very comfortable stay, the beds were great, clean modern interior and super showers. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for somewhere in the area. Milk, tea and coffee were much appreciated. A door on the upstairs bathroom would be great if 4 adults staying.
- Dawn (10/5): Beautiful property and wonderful hosts. - Location was perfect for our visit to Longleat. Would have also been able to get to Bath and Bristol very easily from here. The hosts had contacted us the day before to give detailed instructions on getting to the property and how to access the lock boxes. The property is amazing and finished to a high standard. The hosts had left a birthday card and bottle of Prosecco for my daughter after I’d informed them of her birthday. Easily able to contact the hosts with any questions. Honestly there was nothing that we didn’t like.
- Martijn (10/5): Exceptional - Great modern cottage in tranquile surroundings
- Sam (10/5): Very enjoyable. - Amazing location and very well appointed. No freezer
- Alexandria (10/5): Beautiful place in the gorgeous countryside - It was such an unbelievably beautiful place and the pictures did not do it justice.
The kitchen was stocked so well with implements you need to cook.
- William (9/5): Superb -
- Loraine (7/5): Owner was helpful and reactive. Great stay apart from minor issues we have pointed out. Good place to stay for a relaxin - Good location, nice and private and peaceful. Comfortable and stylish. No wifi at all (an essential feature that should be available in any rental). Issue with the bedroom door not closing which took a while to fix. Poor cooking utensils and inadequate crockery.
- Vicki (8/5): Fabulously relaxing stay. - A great spacious, well appointed property, very clean and comfortable, . Lovely location. Host very responsive to questions and useful / comprehensive
directions and instructions sent before arrival. Wifi not working, teenagers not happy, but actually lovely to be off line.
Information re location of hoover, bins etc would have been useful in the property.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mary (9/5): Other than the lack of Wi-Fi we loved it - Location brilliant
Beautiful place
Homely and Cosy
We loved it Could have had an information booklet for the property
We worked out the oven and hob
Couldn’t connect to the Wi-Fi and that was the main issue
Also no information on where to dispose of rubbish
- Sonia (8/5): Relaxing break in lovely location & comfortable accommodation. - Hares barn has been beautiful converted to high standard. Directions to property could have been clearer and more detailed as location not on SatNav.
Also clearer/larger sign at entrance would have helped as the small wooden sign was easily missed & difficult to see at night.
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional - Mary was so friendly and made sure our individual needs were met. She went above and beyond to help us when the key fob had been forgotten to be left for us by the owner and lent us her personal fob. Look forward to seeing you again Mary.
