- Alex (8/5): Very enjoyable. Shame about the weather. - House was very comfortable and well equipped. Welcome information pack wold have been useful.
All new to us appliances without instructions on use and also no Wi-fi password info left.
- Hazel (9/5): - Lovely cosy home, great base for our family to explore the surrounding area, would consider staying there again!
- Isabelle (10/5): - Tolle, ruhige Lage, sehr gute Ausstattung der Wohnung, sehr gute Betten und Zimmeraufteilung, geschmackvolle Einrichtung Nichts
- Oleg (10/5): -
- Nina (10/5): - Absolutely stunning apartment!! Everything is of high quality and gives a very cosy feel. We all slept very well and enjoyed breakfast on the table in the living room. The location is perfect - a lovely 10 minute stroll and you're in the town centre or at the ferry terminal.
Also great communication with the host who was very friendly and answered quickly. Really can't fault this place and would 100% book again if required!!! There's not much not to like!! Personally my only minor criticism would be that there is no full length mirror... I like to check my outfit before leaving the house lol
- Mia (10/5): A beautiful home - This property is of a very high standard and it’s only a short walk into Oban The view
- Tracy (10/5): Beautiful and immaculate accommodation. - The home was immaculate, comfortable and beautifully decorated. Nothing
- Michelle (9/5): Superb -
- Anna (9/5): Cosy and luxury abode - Loved the quality of the furnishings. bedding and lovely touch of coffee pods for machine Dog next door a bit unhappy with visitors
- Kate (10/5): Outstanding, quirky, beautiful property! 5* - Quirky, contemporary home. Well equipped and had everything we needed. Myself, my husband and 2 teen girls all loved it here. Great value for money and was super clean and presentable. Warm and comfortable. There wasn’t anything we didn’t need and everything was to hand. Outstanding. Private and secure with easy access and fab location for Oban. Nothing
- Mike (10/5): Very comfortable with nice decor. Enjoyed all the books about Scotland! -
- Benjamin (10/5): Luxurious and cosy - - Excellent décor. It won't be entirely to everyone's taste (it wasn't 100% to mine) but it's a bold yet comfortable environment that feels luxurious. There's even a little gas fireplace for cosy evenings when it gets cold.
- Kitchen is adequately stocked - if you need to do some serious cooking you might need to bring a few things from home, but it has all the basics and plenty of attractive crockery. There's an induction hob which still feels like magic to me, a Nespresso coffee maker, and a dishwasher.
- Bedrooms are comfortable. King size bed was big enough for me and my partner (both ~5'10") to share without colliding.
- Bathroom is fantastic. A large bath deep enough to properly submerge yourself in and a strong hot shower.
- Lighting is very thoughtful and tasteful throughout the house
- Bare essentials (toilet paper, dishwasher tablets) were plentifully supplied
- Location is fantastic - around the back of Oban, there's a lovely wooded hill right behind the property for a nice walk, or it's a short walk both to the harbour and to the supermarkets. There's a driveway if you come by car like we did.
Not used: "garden" area (mostly just gravel and a picnic bench), washing machine We didn't have any complaints during our stay and honestly it's hard to see why you would. But here are my best guesses for things that might not suit everyone:
- There's some playing fields nearby that can be heard from the flat. Helpfully, the house is laid out so that the lounge-diner and kitchen are towards the back of the flat, so you're unlikely to notice it unless (a) you're sleeping in late in the morning and (b) the windows are open - in which case, congratulations, the west coast is not normally hot enough for that! But really if you find that an issue, you probably need somewhere truly in the middle of nowhere to avoid any and all town noise.
- Most of the interior walls are in that mid-brightness "architect's grey" colour that's fashionable these days. Personally I find it makes the place feel a bit dark. (The flat in general is slightly darker than it looks in the photos, but otherwise they are a very accurate representation of the place.) That said, apart from the bedrooms, there's bright lighting available everywhere, and the neutral walls highlight the more interesting décor around the house. The bedrooms can feel a bit dark but they catch the sun in the morning so you'd probably only notice it in winter (or if you're very sensitive to it like me).
- Kenneth (10/5): Exceptional - Very well updated and maintained. Private and quiet location. Having a full kitchen was a big plus! The gas fireplace was a very nice touch. Shower floor was slick. Adding a rubber matt would be helpful.
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Had a great stay at Craig Chat, contact was friendly and easy, made to feel welcome. House was spotless, facilities perfect and location easy walk into oban.
