Pauline (10/5): Luxury having own hot spring tub in room - After two months of travelling in Japan and experiencing many communal onsens, having a private onsen in room (and spacious room of a small hotel at that), and a quiet space overall here, was exactly what we wanted. It was on high side of our affordability but we enjoyed it immensely. Figuring out how to use the kettle took a few goes (as it’s digital electronic and no brand name). Staff helpful, and even allowed us to store the hire bikes safely in front of their security camera. Would like to come back.

Prapassorn (7/5): Boutique style hotel - Spacious rooms with the living room apart from the bedroom. The hot bath in the room was really super hot. Staff didn't tell us that we could adjust the temperature and turn-on/off valve for the hot bath. Especially my parents' room, where they took super hot water without knowing that they could make the water cold. Not everyone got used to the onsen water system, so the staff should have told us that hot water in the room can be adjusted by each of everyone comfort.

There were also other restaurant recommendations in the info booklet. Stylish interior design, very clean rooms. Free parking. Could include the outdoor onsen without extra charge. Could provide a speaker for music in the room. Blinds are not fully black out so we got woken up by the light in the morning.

Location is on main road opposite a large shopping mall. Well silenced but not very atmospheric. No dining options though there are restaurants nearby.

Dalal (7/5): Beautiful Beppu - Nice room and new furniture The private onsen inside my toilet is covered with a thick layer of musty and the floor of the onsen is slippery because of the musty, and I told the recipient about this issue and they promised me that they will clean it , but they didn’t and till my last day of stay I was very uncomfortable about it
Rachel (10/5): Perfect - Loved the location of Mure Beppu. It is opposite a mall and fronts a main road, but the rooms are quiet and peaceful for sleeping. The room was so much larger than expected with thoughtful touches - face products on top of the usual toiletries. We loved the onsen in our room which was massive for two. There’s also private onsen on the roof that can be booked by hotel guests. The cafe downstairs (which shares a space with the hotel lobby) serves a good coffee/matcha drink with dango, a particular highlight are the outdoor seating with a foot onsen!
