Guest Reviews
- Johannes (10/5): -
- Annabelle (10/5): Tout était superbe - Tout, le personnel au petit soin, la beauté du lieu, de l’hôtel et ses équipements.
- Stav (10/5): Amazing place to go for a holiday! - Amazing view, fantastic service with attention to detail, the breakfast is great, really wonderful all around. We even got some champagne, cake and desserts to celebrate our upcoming wedding and my fiancées birthday! Also the movie room was so much fun, we made good use of it :) One minor inconvenience was that we didn’t have a full length mirror in the room.
- Paul & Lindy (10/5): Relaxing and luxurious - Stunning setting and first class service by all staff. Nothing
- Cheesemite (10/5): Wow just wow! - Wow - it was amazing. We have stayed at some pretty special hotels but this was one of the best. From the moment we arrived we had fantastic treatment. Our car was parked for us, our luggage taken to our room and we were given a drink in the gorgeous reception area. Our room was spacious with a balcony, dressing room, huge comfy bed and lovely view. The staff went above and beyond and clearly loved their jobs - nothing was too much trouble. Everything was immaculately clean. We had the 'pop-up' dinner in the vegetable garden one night - we sat at a group table and had plates of food to share all cooked outside over wood and in outdoor ovens and all fresh local produce and great communal dining. Breakfast had a huge self service buffet of fresh produce and amazing cooked to order choice. There is a private beach and you can get a speedboat to Spignalonga island and you can eat a snack lunch on the beach. The pool is heated and the pool area is relaxing and clean. We just loved it all. Having to leave!

- Joerg (10/5): Excellent small hotel - 5 Stars - excellent small hotel - nice location with view to Spirolanga. Large rooms and Pool. Currently a construction side is close to the hotel
- Konstantin (10/5): Wahnsinnig gut - Alles !!!
- Jackie (10/5): Absolutely fantastic! - We got married at this hotel a number of years ago and returned to celebrate our wedding anniversary. All of the staff were amazing, the Wellness centre was great, the food was fantastic and don't get me started on the private pool (deep joy!). We had a brilliant time - again. We have no complaints.
- Ismail (10/5): Strongly Recommended - Exceptional experience, staff was excellent, strongly recommended. Nothing

- Elisa (10/5): -
- Pedro (10/5): Just book it! -

- Jack (10/5): Gorgeous Resort, Amazing Rooms - What a gorgeous property with spectacular views. The rooms were large modern and so comfortable.. we had our own private pool with views of Spinalonga island. The staff were amazing..the food was amazing and we wished we could have stayed longer than 3 nights. I highly recommend this resort
- Rafael (8/5): Good stay, but didn’t meet our expectations for the price - We stayed at Phaea Palace during the last part of our honeymoon, and while the hotel is beautiful and has some great things going for it, we left with mixed feelings—mainly because for the price we paid, we expected a much better overall experience.
The room was nice, but honestly, we’ve stayed in better rooms for less (like Domus Noruz in Chania, for example). The private bathtub was completely closed off inside the bathroom, which made it hard to enjoy—it felt like we were stuck in a box, with no view or ambiance. The balcony and private pool area the is great—large and perfect for relaxing—however it lacked privacy, since people from other rooms and those walking by could see us pretty easily.
The hotel itself is gorgeous, no doubt, but the rooms feel a bit dated when compared to some of the other places we stayed during this trip. On the bright side, the beach area is also beautiful and well-kept.
The staff were all friendly, but our check-in experience wasn’t great. We weren’t walked through any of the hotel’s offerings—they just told us to download an app to find everything ourselves, which felt a bit impersonal, especially for a high-end stay.
There are lots of services available (massages, treatments, etc.), but everything is very expensive. We had imagined this would be the most special and luxurious hotel of our honeymoon—we saved up to spend our last few nights here—but instead, it felt like we were in a place where everything came at an extra (and high) cost.
So in short: if you have a flexible budget and don’t mind paying extra for every little thing, this might be a good fit. But if you’re like us—looking for something truly memorable and worth the investment—I’d recommend looking elsewhere.
- Mary-jane (10/5): Exceptional - We LOVED the ethos of the hotel, the friendliest staff, amazing food (no buffet dinner here!!!! Authentic Greek cuisine heaven), the personal touches and interactions with the senior management team, the unspoilt views…. Heaven. Can’t wait to go back.
- Pedro (9/5): It was great, we really enjoy our time there and the staff was amazing. Cannot praise them enough! - Small boutique hotel with a great decor and amazing beach. The hotel team was super nice and very attentive to your every need. A couple of things looked a bit outdated and are in need of a refresh.
- Michael (1/5): Bad - Very bad hotel, the crew was not kindly, very expensive, small hotel, Loneliness atmosphere.
Do not go!
- Cormac (9/5): Superb -
- Lucy (8/5): Relaxing and good value for money - The breakfast was amazing, the staff are very friendly, the organic farmer's feast is a must The umbrellas on the beach could be changed to cover both chairs so that couples can sit together
- George (9/5): Superb -
- Amit (9/5): Superb -
- Gaia (10/5): Amazing! - The view, the service, the food, the private pool… We loved everything! Just first time at the Spa we édites 30mins for the massage but worth it after all
- Fiona (10/5): Exceptional hotel - The staff are exceptional and catered to every single need, and more. There was a great choice of food options which were all very high quality. The views from the hotel are amazing! There is nothing we could fault.

- Almeida (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adrian (8/5): Very good - Beautiful location and friendly staff. We booked a room with sea view but got a room that looked at the back of another building (got another room after we complained).
Hotel hosted an incentive trip for a company who played games at the hotel facilities, were loud and partied all night. I don't think that these type of guests belong into any place that considers themselves part of the Luxury Collection. Actually this experience made it quite an ordinary place for a couple of days.
- Jennifer (10/5): superb - the resort was superb in every way the trollycar was too slow!
- Stephanie (10/5): Amazing resort with the most welcoming and helpful staff - Loved the view! The breakfast was also delicious and the staff there was so incredibly accommodating and welcoming. Also, the water pressure from the shower was amazing and I loved having complementary water refreshed daily. I didn't like our initial drive to the location because we went through the path in the mountain but that's not the resort's fault. One thing though there weren't a lot of usable outlets, especially near the nightstands would have been nice.
- Faatina (9/5): Superb -
- Joyce (10/5): Beautiful. Would love to return. - The view and the private pool outside the room. The staff were all very helpful and kind.
The breakfast buffet was tremendous.
- Thomas (9/5): Exceptional hotel in a stunning location. - Exceptional hotel in a stunning location. Staff were wonderful and the food at all the restaurants was superb. Some of the communal pools could do with refurbishment.
- Lise (10/5): Exceptional - Beautifully location , great view from the room
- Nijat (9/5): Superb -
- Sabrina (9/5): A great hotel for a family getaway - We’ve just returned from Blue Palace Elounda and would definitely recommend.
As a family of 4 with two young children (1 + 3), finding a hotel that is luxurious for the adults, but a child friendly environment isn’t always the easiest. The staff were very attentive and brilliant with the kids which makes a big difference! To name a few - Niki, Vaso, Maria and Joanna (who run the restaurants) and Maria (who runs the kids club). We visited Maria on two of the days with the little ones and they loved her - she's super warm and loving to the children and they just loved having the play area and toys around!
Location was great - the small village Plaka was walkable for local restaurants and the restaurants onsite at hotel served great food.
Hotel is nicely decorated, it’s just the bathrooms in the rooms that could do with a bit of modernising, but I heard that that’s in the plan soon.
Overall, great hotel. Thank you for making our stay so enjoyable! The only negative I would say is we didn’t end up dining at The Blue Door, which we’d heard was the best restaurant at the hotel. You have to book restaurants in advance - we’d done so and booked The Blue Door 2 nights in a row but our reservation was cancelled due to bad weather on each of those nights. On our final night we went to book but were offered times that wouldn’t work for the children so had to decline. My only comment would be in situations such as this, the concierge should prioritise customers that have been cancelled on and given opportunity to book before taking others bookings.

Also you get to see Spinalonga island which is a beautiful, small island and it’s a 5 minute boat ride. The staff is extremely friendly and fast at attending to your needs. Overall the service of the staff is 5 stars! Before booking, remember this is a 20 year resort so everything is pretty much outdated. We didn’t read this when booking…The sofas in the rooms and halls along with furniture are outdated which makes the hotel not feel like it should be priced at 675 euro minimum a night for a room. Also, the room had a lot of ants and the toilet wasn’t flushing properly but we didn’t say anything to the staff as they were always so kind. So we let it slide…Last thing, food and drinks are overpriced for the hotel being so outdated. I think if they revamp the hotel with new fixtures, this place will be great to stay at. But if you are staying for your honeymoon or another special occasion, please read before booking.
- Romain (8/5): Very good -
- Jody (6/5): Shame about the Ibiza style pool party! - The location was excellent being opposite Spinalonga. The hotels beach was great, sun beds were comfortable and swimming/snorkelling off the pontoon was great. The pool near reception was lovely to swim in and generally quiet. Breakfast was good, lots to choose from. The Ibiza style pool party that took place one afternoon. Music was too loud and could be heard if you were on the beach, not relaxing at all.
We had a room with a pool, which was meant to be a swim up pool but it wasn’t, you had to go down steps to access it and when you were in it your view was a fence. This was not what I saw photos of on booking.com. The pictures were a swim up pool overlooking Spinalonga which could be seen whilst you were in the swim up pool.
Our room was also very close to the main road, so when you sat on the balcony it wasn’t quiet.
Route down to the beach was via a funicular railway. There was only one, which meant having to wait for a while at busy times.
For the money I paid, I hoped for better, I was disappointed.
- George (9/5): Superb - Location service
- Pol (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicholas (8/5): Beautiful settings. Faultless service but abismal music and entertainment - Faultless service : excellence throughout. Beautiful - breathtaking location
Fabulous facilities: Gym, hammam, beach/sun beds well managed, fab boat trip
Excellent breakfast cocktails Being charged for a child bed 70 euros a night.
Prices of spa treatments way too expensive
Lack of tasteful musical entertainment
I would have like to see more Greek touches to the entertainment: in one week I haven’t heard a single Greek music or seeing green dance
We only had blasting Dj at bar and pool party
- Chafik (8/5): Very good - Very much appreciated was the excellent Service & Operation @ Isola restaurant & Blue Door restaurant. The pool party was inappropriate & disturbing...
- Margaux (10/5): One of a kind - Everything ! But most particularly the view on the Spinalonga island, the breakfast, the bed, the kindness of the staff. The noise when the staff clear the tables at breakfast and noisily put the chairs back.
The fact that some people “pre-book” the front row sun-beds on the beach early in the morning by putting their stuff on them and only come back in the afternoon.
The individual pool in the room was pretty cold compared to the main pools of the hotel and unfortunately we therefore only used it once.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was good, location was perfect, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. The staff and layout of the hotel made us feel like we were staying in a small boutique hotel rather than a resort. The food was unbelievably good and there was plenty of space/privacy on the beach and around the swimming pool (even though we were there at the height of the summer season). The rooms, restaurant and common areas were tastefully decorated with a level of uniqueness that's hard to find in large resorts. We were sad to leave and will be definitely be back in future years!! Nothing apart from sometimes you have to wait a few minutes for the cable car to take you down to the beach/pool area 🙂
- Mark (10/5): Will be back - Everything None
- Petra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning property - worth all 5 stars!
Great location clean rooms.
Five star service Nothing
- Angelina (9/5): Wonderful resort with great views - Great elevator straight to the beach . A long walk to the building we were staying in
- Hadar (9/5): Superb -
- Ioanna (10/5): No words to describe this dream wish place - Dream place. I can not find the right words.
The view is unique, the hotel is one of the top with so many facilities - a few to mention: 3 swimming pools, 3 restaurants, kids ground with up to date trainers, great massage. We tried athletic massage, and it was much better than expected.
The architecture is speechless.
Breakfast with variation, including Cretan elements.
The room is very convenient and clean with spinaloga view. Staff cleans it literally all day more than once.
As for the bed, my kid could not sleep without waking up during the night. In this bed, he slept more hours than even.
The staff is so polite - top of the top - which makes the accommodation even more amazing.
Great HR selection 👌
- Toula (9/5): Superb -
- Paula (9/5): Great service, good food, complimentary snacks and drinks in island suite - Clean, good size rooms, housekeeping every day, water supplied every day. on site shops are incredibly expensive and quite rude staff.
- Mark (9/5): Really enjoyed the stay, the quality and as said - the staff. - Great location & staff The sensors on the vernacular were a bit painful for the uninitiated - minor frustration 😂
- Val (10/5): wonderfully fabolous - absolutely everything! the friendly and amazing staff, the luxury service, the breathtaking views, the atmosphere, the cleanliness, the food (it's from heaven), the authenticity, the beach, everything.
- Mead (10/5): Exceptional -
- Iulian (7/5): Good -
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - beach, dinners, room, staff,... I would have like good-old paper menu's (not via the app), and a bit more variation in breakfast.
- Martin (9/5): Superb -
- Ahila (9/5): Excellent family-friendly resort. - It had everything. You didn’t have to leave the resort.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Christian (10/5): An amazing relaxing week in Crete - Amazing hotel with super friendly staff and excellent service. We loved the restaurants of the hotel, especially Blue Door and Anthos that offer great Greek cuisine. A special thanks to Giannis and Maria for the cooking lesson. Another highlight is the bar with its team that indulges us with tasty cocktails and wine.
- Amanda (5/5): Very poor value for money - Rooms comfortable The prices were very very expensive for drink and food , telephone in room didn’t work properly, taxi were constantly used by other guests when you booked them
- Alejandro (9/5): Superb - Everything! amazing hotel
- Rotem (10/5): Exceptional -
