Maria (9/5): Walking distance to the Port for our 8am Ferry - Comfortable stay at this corner, light filled, pleasant and well equipped budget apartment. Wowie! It was two small blocks from the lively Via Grande shopping strip. Lots of specialty retail shops and a large Conad supermarket a short walking distance. Livable apartment for our two night stay. Appreciated the owners thoughtfulness in leaving kitchen items for us to use. Liked, the lift, full length mirror, lots of shelving and fly screens. Apartment is a short walk via fruit and veg market area to spectacular Mercato Centrale markets. We ate delicious meals at Siamo Fritti and Amedeo. Would like to mention that a BIG plus for this apartment is that we could walk to the Port to catch our early morning Ferry. Things to know...Passengers asked to get to the Port one hour before departure. We could see our Ferry but had to walk past it as walking passengers (like vehicles) need to go into the Port via the main entry gate. Just inside the Port our ticket was scanned and a sticker with our names was given to us to show before boarding. Everyone at the Port was helpful. Be mindful, if several ferries are in Port allow time to check in with several Port staff and be directed by them to your departure gate. Thank you Elias for your service and for promptly solving the issue with WiFi.
