Top quality furnishings, modern. Nothing

- Nicole (10/5): - If you’re looking to stay close to the airport and have a completely different hotel experience, I highly suggest the Castle Gogar Cottage. It was a really cool experience and we enjoyed the grounds as well.
- Scott (10/5): A very lovely, comfortable cottage with everything we needed for a short break near the city. - The kitchen was well equipped and the property was very clean and comfortable. The location was ideal for us as a ten minute walk took you to the tram line, with access to Edinburgh city centre. The host had kindly left milk in the fridge and shortbread - thank you!
- Fernando (10/5): Buena elección - Muy limpio. Bien ordenado y decorado. Detalles muy cuidados Retirado del centro y muy difícil de acceder sin coche. Aunque hay una parada de tranvía cerca, para llegar a ella hay un trayecto considerable para hacerlo a pie.
- Michelle (10/5): Incredible stay with a very kind and generous host - The cottage is amazing. It is spacious and all of the furnishings are very classy. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed to cook for ourselves. It is also in a good location not too far from the city center. The tram is super close. Donna was an amazing host. She was responsive and even offered to come pick us up from the tram station when it was raining.
- Eleanor (10/5): Relaxing, comfortable and peaceful - The location is excellent, with easy access to the city centre and to all major routes, but still quiet and secluded. We had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
- Nikki (10/5): -
- Diane (10/5): The prettiest most lovely cottage, we had the best time. - The area, the facilities, the cleanliness. Nothing
- Susien Aparecida (10/5): I had a wonderful time here. - Everything. Nothing
- Kristin (9/5): Quiet, clean, comfortable, convenient! - Beautiful, well-kept place. Very comfortable and convenient to the tram into Edinburgh. Highly recommend!
- De Valk (10/5): Celebrating a 40th anniversary, with my wife (with daughters along) made her feel like a queen. - The castle cottage was amazing. Beautifully decorated large and comfortable. The outside area was beautiful for breakfast and a little reading. While we enjoyed the seclusion, it also meant a little bit of a walk to stores or trams. Nothing too much, but I was having a bit of a back issue at the time.
- Nassere (9/5): Super - De hartelijkheid en bereikbaarheid van de host waren fantastisch. De locatie is heerlijk rustig en de cottage is knus, schoon en comfortabel. We voelden ons meteen welkom. Eigenlijk geen echte minpunten; hooguit twee kleine suggesties: wat lichtere dekbedden en een extra set handdoeken zou handig zijn. We hebben dit tijdens het verblijf niet aan de host gevraagd.
- Trace-leigh (9/5): Lovely cottage! - The cottage was lovely! Beautiful place, great location with an easy walk to the tram, comfortable beds, and lovely to have the lounge/kitchen space to socialise etc The neighbours dogs startled us when we checked in, as we had arrived fairly late from a show, they then took hours to settle down and stop barking - just pre-warn guests of this in the future :)
- Kerry (10/5): A chance to stay in a gorgeous historical property. We loved it - We loved the cottage which catered for 2 couples perfectly allowing for privacy and shared space. It was equipped very well and clean. Decoratively it was gorgeous.
Gogar Castle and its surrounds were simply stunning and allowed us to have the grandeur of such a beautiful space. The drive in is just lovely.
- Alexandra (9/5): Praktisch und bequem an einem Sonderstandort - Praktischer Standort mit Auto und gute Zentrum-Erreichbarkeit mit Auto, ÖV oder Uber. Nichts zu melden.
- DAWN (10/5): - Everything! Thoughtful attention to detail, comfort, cleanliness, quality of furnishings, comfort of beds, location (handy for public transport into the city), beautiful grounds, nice glassware and crockery...
We've booked many, many hotels, apartments and B&Bs over the years, and this is the nicest place we've come across to date Nothing.
Oh okay then, a teapot and a clothes horse would have been useful. They may have been there (the cottage was very well equipped) but we didn't find them. There was a pod coffee machine, ironing boards and washing machine, so the above is REALLY nitpicking. We asked this place and would definitely stay there again.
- Lucy (10/5): Perfect location x - Everything xxx Nothing it was perfect x
- Rory (10/5): Was an amazing get away for a long weekend - The property was well kept and just an amazing building
- Cindy (10/5): Donna was wonderful (the owner) and very receptive to any need. The stay was so comfortable and relaxing. I love this pl - The property was comfortable, clean, modern yet in a historic timepiece, gorgeous location, and very quiet. Don’t hesitate staying here. It’s truly lovely. Loved everything about this property.
- Cynthia (8/5): Great property, wonderful location - quiet and beautiful. - The location was beautiful, the grounds are well kept and everything was very clean. It was very neat to get to stay in the cottage connected to this castle. The Tram stop is a short walking distance from the property making access to downtown very convenient. Communications with the host were timely and even welcoming at a very late hour of our arrival. The cottage was very clean and comfortable. Donna was very pleasant as was her daughter that met us at the gate and showed us around the grounds. We had issues with the hot water in the main bathroom upstairs - it seemed that perhaps the heating system was on a timer or something that caused issue with the water reheating after showers. We were only on the property for two evenings so this was not a large issue however, I feel I need to mention it.
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anne (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful place large home for 4 people NA
- Jayne (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Nothing
- Steven (10/5): Perfect - Everything , A truly tranquil experience, cannot wait to come back.
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing property, easy access to central Edinburgh via the tram station just around the corner, and friendly host. Couldn't be more perfect!
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Elegant and quiet. Nothing. It was all wonderful.
- Nader (10/5): We stayed in the cottage more than we wanted to visit Edinburgh - I felt that I am a duck or a baron and my wife thought she is a Countess . And my daughter thought she is a princess
We enjoyed all details of our stay in the cottage and we appreciate the noble attitude of Dona and Charlie All was good
- Veronica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marzia (10/5): Beautiful ! - The house is gorgeous, perfectly clean, modern and wonderfully decorated. It is surrounded by a beautiful green area, so quiet and relaxing! The tram stop to the city center is only a 10 minute walk. Owners were lovely and very helpful! Everything was great
- Christina (10/5): Edinburgh has a new landmark attraction - Castle Gogar! - Luxuriously furnished cottage next to a beautiful castle with gorgeous grounds. Spotless, spacious and very comfortable. Two tram stops from airport and a lovely ten minute walk to reach the property. Easy access to city centre by tram or bus within twenty minutes. Loved our short stay. Host is thoughtful and generous in providing for the comfort of guests. Nothing, wished we could stay longer.
- John (8/5): Despite not having the password for internet access I would still recommend this cottage. Warm, cozy - The cottage was very well appointed and mostly clean. We liked the extra shower room and toilet allowing our guests to have the upstairs shower room to themselves. The gardens were beautiful, we could hear birds singing, it was like being in the countryside even though next to an airport. Beautifully furnished inside. We had no internet access and there was no iron even though there were 2 iron boards? We tried contacting the owner using a phone number we were given but only got a non responsive answering machine and no response to ringing the next door bell. Not having someone to greet us on arrival was understandable, but we had trouble finding the key and some written information about the cottage would have been helpful, (such as the password for the internet). There were some small white hairs in the bed linen we spent time picking out of the bed. We suspected a dog had been sleeping on the bed?
- Istvan (10/5): Short stay before flying home - It is a very nice, quiet location. Close to the Airport, also easy to get into the city by tram. Rooms are nice kitchen and living area both beautiful! Tge owners are friendly and helpful people! They make everything to feel good!
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rodney (9/5): Thank you ... deeply appreciated. - An interesting well maintained property well worth while a stay. The steps - need to be careful as very steep leading to a small landing.
- Robert (10/5): A Marvellously Opulent Edinburgh Cottage... - The 'Castle Gogar Cottage' is attached to Gogar Castle - and the hosts' home - and is located at the end of a picturesque driveway just off the main Glasgow Road, Edinburgh. As such it is a short drive to a host of local attractions, quality restaurants, bars, golf courses and sports venues. Despite having Edinburgh Airport as our immediate neighbour we were never disturbed by any of the aircraft operations.
The quality of The Cottage's furnishings is exceptionally high and the presentation was of the highest standard. The Cottage is superbly well appointed with quality fitments, bedlinen, towelling and the like. The bedroom suites, bathroom and lounge are all wonderfully comfortable, well heated and delightfully cosy. The kitchen was very spacious and, again, extremely well appointed.
Our host, Donna, welcomed us on arrival and quickly explained the layout and the attractions of the property. Donna was warm, engaging and considerate and her attention to the guests’ needs is flawless. Communications were speedy and helpful. The rain deterred us from using the outdoor patio but The Cottage's indoor facilities more than compensated for the dreary weather. We look forward to making a return visit as soon as we can and would highly recommend 'Castle Gogar Cottage' to all discerning visitors to Edinburgh. ... that we couldn't stay much longer!!
- Alexander (10/5): Excellent - The location is very convenient, a clean well decorated place to stay
The host was available via phone to sort out out late arrival, she turned on heating etc so it was cosy on our arrival.
- Lyn (10/5): Beautiful period property great for an Edinburgh stay - Beautiful place. Looks even better in real life. Great for the airport and getting into Edinburgh. Would definitely stay here again. I didn’t meet the hosts so can’t comment on that. It is decorated to a high standard and was lovely and warm with the heating on in when we got there. There was really anything I didn’t like. But it was dark when we walk down the drive after getting off the tram. I felt it added to the experience but be prepared for that
- Mark (8/5): Fantastic stay as we were in Edinburgh for our engagement - Clean and cosy Disabled access an issue
- Janine (10/5): Great novelty place to stay, close to tram stop direct into Edinburgh - Stunning and immaculate property. Very expensively furnished and very well kept Pack some wooly socks (this is not a complaint, just the castle walls are so thick no heat gets in)!
- Jen (10/5): What a great place and a kind and generous host! -
- Rich (10/5): Exceptional - Superb setting on the outskirts of Edinburgh. House was stunning, well decorated, very comfortable, well equipped. Set in the grounds of a 17th century castle. 10 minute walk to gogarburn tram stop which goes to the airport or up to Edinburgh City centre, this was a 30 minute tram ride to Princes Street passing by Murrayfield on the way. Tv was equipped with Netflix but unable to get normal TV service which suited me but not my travelling companion.
- Mc (10/5): A magical escape - What a magical place. I would highly recommend staying here. Everything was what we needed for a special night away. Everything was perfect
