• Nicolas (7/5): - Gute Preisleistung -vegetarisches Frühstück war nicht so lecker -Bus nach Hue haben wir über den Gastgeber gebucht. Wir hatten einen Cabin Bus gebucht mussten dann aber zu fünft in der letzten Reihe liegen. Das Bus Unternehmen hatte eine 1 Stern Bewertung. Der Zeitplan vom Gastgeber ist nicht mehr aktuell. Würde ihm Nachhinein selber Bus buchen.

• Marcus (8/5): Nice spacious room/pod - We arrived early and had to wait for our room to be ready. Once it was prepared, we realized it was not the room we had booked. After bringing this to the owner's attention, we were able to move to the correct room. Although the room is spacious, the placement of the facilities is somewhat inconvenient; for example, the kettle's cable is too short to reach the high sockets. Breakfast is simple, you choose an item from the menu and a drink, but it's enough and decent. We hired a couple of push bikes and a moped whilst we were there. They are old, and the moped failed to start a few times - wasn't really value for money as we paid the going rate. Parts of the homestay are still under construction, but the rooms and reception area are fine.

An enjoyable ten minute cycle from the main town. Perfect for those wanting to connect with nature properly, away from the noise but close enough to access what they need.
• Salter5 (9/5): We had a HAPPY field stay :)) - Mr Thang is very helpful and speaks English quite well.our bus got in late but he was awake waiting for us. He communicated well with us before arriving and helped with organising tours - booked us in an hour before the tour started. He also helped ringing around checking bus avail. Unfortunately it was a public holiday weekend for us. The rooms was very spacious and spotless. Photos are accurate. If you can get a mountain view room they look great as you have a lovely balcony with chairs. Location was maybe 3km from centre which was peaceful and perfect for us. The breakfast is very simple you get maybe 5 or so choices. The best omelette I’ve had in 3wks. The breakfast area overlooks fields and mountains. Amazing value if ur not there on the public holiday weekend. N/A

• Loan (7/5): More Transparency Needed - Clean and nice staff and host. We arrived at 5am and they let us use their ground floor kitchen, living room and bathroom. They were not up front and honest about some services. On my first day, the host Thang told me that it would be hard to get Grab/SM taxi from the caves. He introduced me to his cousin who drives a taxi. We went to Hang Dong Chi and Botanical Garden, he charged us VND900,000, which was probably 2 times more expensive than regular taxi. The next days we booked Grab rides, and there were plenty of them throughout the tourist destinations. Second one was the laundry. We requested for a load of laundry done and asked them to use the dryer for our load. They agreed to do it but next morning when we picked up, they were air dried and still damp. They charged us 280,000 for the laundry. Overall, the family and the housekeeper were really nice to us, I wished there ha d been more transparency in the extra charges.

• Leonard (5/5): Unzufrieden obwohl die Unterkunft schön ist - Das Bungalow war wirklich sehr sauber. Schöner Ausblick und schön eingerichtet. Preislich ist es fair. Kleines Frühstück war auch dabei, aber keine große Auswahl. Der Betreiber war eigentlich sehr nett. Wir waren auch für eine Nacht im Haus untergekommen und das Zimmer war auch schön. Das Restaurant Lotus in der Nähe ist wirklich sehr gut. Lecker und sehr sauber. Es gibt auch viele vegane Optionen. Early Checkin ist nicht kostenlos, was auch okay ist, aber das sollte auch so kommuniziert werden wenn man extra danach fragt. Lage ist 10 Minuten von der Stadt entfernt. Das Licht im Bad war kaputt. Wir wollten 1,5 Tage länger bleiben und wurden im Haus untergebracht. Dann mussten wir doch schon einen halben Tag früher aus der Unterkunft, weil Sie schon vermietet war und hatten den restlichen Tag keine Unterkunft was sehr unangenehm war. Der Bus war schon über das Homestay gebucht und uns wurde versichert, dass das Unternehmen sehr gut sei, weshalb wir auch gerne etwas mehr für die Reise zahlten. Der Bus war komplett dreckig und stank. Der Busfahrer fuhr wie ein Irrer viel zu schnell so, so dass ich die ganze Nacht wach war. Die Unterkunft ist schon gut aber zufrieden waren wir auf keinen Fall. Vor allem weil wir früher aus dem Zimmer mussten und wegen der schrecklichen Busfahrt.

• Pavlo (6/5): - They have breakfast, we had earlier checkin We booked the bungalows shown in the photos with panoramic windows. On the first day, we were placed in a standard room because they said the previous guests had decided to extend their stay for one more day. That was fine. The room was actually quite comfortable, although much simpler than the bungalow. The next day, we were moved to our bungalow, but to be honest, it’s not really suited for hot weather. It was very hot outside (around +38°C), and even with all the fans and air conditioning running, the temperature inside could only be lowered to about 32°C at best. The roof was letting heat through in direct sunlight (it seems like the materials used aren’t suitable for this climate). My wife and I got sick and wanted to spend a day resting in the room, but keep in mind that in this kind of heat, that won’t really be possible. The second type of rooms (standard rooms in the main building) are much better for hot weather.

Weg van de drukte maar met de fiets ben je zo in het centrum van Phong Nha. Zeer behulpzame host, gastvrije ontvangst. En een prima ontbijt 's ochtends. De via deze homestay geboekte jungletocht was fantastisch.

• Giulia-Teresa (10/5): Perfect place when you value a the full package, nice rooms, friendly hosts and a nice surrounding! - Thanks to the hosts (a very friendly family) our trips were perfectly managed and planned. Before we arrived they've already took care of everything! A car picked us up at the train station, when we arrived the hosts welcomed us, and - also in advance - they've sent us different tours we could directly book with them. They even took care of our laundry. We'd definitely come back :)

• Loredana (9/5): - Amazing view over the mountains, we sadly didn't get to enjoy too much as our days were packed during our short stay in Phong Nha. The couple running the homestay were lovely. They had som Scooters available to rent at the homestay to go and explore the area. We were a it cold the first night but were provided with an additional duvet after that. Rooms were spacious and clean with 2 big double beds.

• Carlsen (10/5): - The best homestay I have been to so far. The location is beautiful, surrounded by nature and walking distance from a wonderful little restaurant. In the evenings we saw fireflies on the terrace and in the morning we could sip our coffee while watching the cows in the field. The family is so lovely and they helped us with booking tours and transport, and you can rent motorbikes and bicycles straight from reception at a very good price. We will be coming back! ☺️ Nothing it was perfect!
• Medegma (10/5): Уютные и комфортабельные бунгало с красивым видом - Очень уютные бунгало, новые, достаточно просторные для двоих, есть опции приглушённого света! Невероятный вид на рисовые поля, ночью я даже видела светлячков на поле, а днём там ходят буйволы. Находится в отдалении от центра города, но рядом есть кафе Lotus с вкусной едой и приятными сотрудниками, куда мы часто ходили. Ночью спать оооочень тихо!!! Полный восторг Владельцы приветливые, хорошо говорят на Английском и готовы помочь со всеми вопросами, порекомендовать ресторан, позвонить по поводу прививки и так далее. Доступен прокат велосипедов и байков. Соседские собаки кусаются! По дороге в Lotus Restaurant живут 2 собаки, которые укусили моего парня за ногу 😭 Это не ошибка Happy Field, они наоборот помогли нам, но собачки расстроили

• Andrea (5/5): Nicht wirklich zu empfehlen, da gibt es deutlich besseres für den selben Preis - Großzügig und sauber Es gab keine Möglichkeit, seine Kleidung aufzuhängen, irgendwo abzulegen oder dergleichen. Das inkludierte Frühstück bedeutete, dass man aus drei Gerichten eines auswählen durfte, auch wenn das allein nicht satt gemacht hat. Dazu kam, dass die pho eindeutig ein Fertiggericht aus trocken der Packung war. Alles andere hätte man bezahlen müssen. Der Manager/Besitzer des Homestays war sehr daran interessiert, weitere Dienstleistungen an uns zu verkaufen, ließ sich kaum abwimmeln.

• Helene (10/5): Schöner und entspannter Aufenthalt - Wir waren drei Nächte in der Unterkunft und hatten einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt! Die Gastgeber waren freundlich, hilfsbereit und immer bemüht alles zu geben, damit unser Aufenthalt perfekt verläuft. Wir konnten über sie eine tolle Höhlen-Tour buchen, Wäsche waschen lassen und Fahrräder mieten. Die Lage war unserer Meinung nach perfekt, weil man mit dem Fahrrad alles entspannt erreichen konnte, es aber nicht so voll war wie im Zentrum! Das Zimmer war sauber und sehr komfortabel. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und würden gerne nochmal wiederkommen!

• Juliane (7/5): - Das Bett war bequem, das Frühstück war lecker! Sehr praktisch, dass man Roller und Fahrräder direkt vor Ort mieten kann. Der Inhaber war nett und hat seine Hilfe angeboten als wir beide mit einer Lebensmittelvergiftung im Bett lagen. Leider hat der (anfangs sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite) Inhaber versucht uns zusätzliches Geld aus den Taschen zu ziehen. Ein früherer Check In wurde uns nachträglich berechnet ohne, dass es beim Check in kommuniziert wurde. Das dann trotzdem zusätzlich das Frühstück an dem Morgen berechnet wurde, kam uns im Nachhinein auch komisch vor. Das geliehene Fahrrad sollte direkt bar bezahlt werden und ist trotzdem am Ende nochmal auf der Rechnung gelandet. Es wurde eine Tour zu den Höhlen über die Unterkunft gebucht, die aufgrund einer Lebensmittelvergiftung nicht wahrgenommen werden konnte. Auf Rücksprache hieß es, dass die Tour noch storniert werden kann. Am nächsten Morgen hieß es dann, dass 20% der Kosten einbehalten werden müssen. Ob das der Tour-Anbieter einbehalten hat, wissen wir nicht, jedenfalls fanden wir auch hier die fehlende Kommunikation und Transparenz wirklich sehr schade!

Als je twijfelt om in het stadje zelf te verblijven of er buiten dan zou ik 100% aanraden iets in de natuur te boeken, dat is echt supermooi in Phong Nha. Het uitzicht bij deze huisjes is echt fantastisch en de bedden ontzettend comfortabel. Ontbijt is heerlijk en de eigenaren helpen je overal mee. Wij kwamen om 3 uur in de nacht aan maar werden vriendelijk opgewacht. Ik zou dit 100% aanraden!! PS ga eten bij restaurant Lotus dat zit er naast en is echt ontzettend goed!! Dat we weg moesten

• Leah (10/5): A very happy homestay - Mr Thang was an incredible host, he was always really helpful and as in the name very happy! The location is perfect if you are going to explore the area and the balcony was great to relax on, we even saw a water buffalo and calf bathing one morning. Breakfast was very tasty and we had everything we could have wanted. Absolutely loved it here! That I didn't stay longer!

Breakfast was really nice, choice of pho, banana pancake or bread with eggs. We were able to rent bikes for the whole day. They have water and snacks available to purchase as well.

• Benjamin (10/5): Happy stay at Happy Fields. Thanks to the owner Thang and his very pretty property we had a quiet and relaxing staying - Very pretty and nice to have something different. Thang’s property look striking :) the room, which was a fantastic price, was clean, spacious and everything worked!!! The power sockets, AC, kettle, there was a lamp (so many rooms have uncomfortable and ugly lighting), even the hanging lights were pretty. Big French doors open to a gorgeous view of the fields and it’s far enough out the town to feel private. Quiet in the evening and quiet in the mornings. There’s only a few rooms which mean it feels like you are alone and the breakfast is great. Served quick, 3 options for taste. Bathroom, clean, light and modern. Dream. The shower was excellent - hot, good pressure and lots of hot water. Thang did all he could to make our stay comfortable. Even paid the lunch restaurant directly his own money (from hotel) when we forgot ours in the room. Rented us scooters, organised our transfers and bus. WHAT A LEGEND - highly recommend and Lotus Restaurant (2 x dinner) 200meters away!!! Next i come in summer I want the pool ready ;)

• Ballo (10/5): Perfect place to stay! - I had an amazing time here at Happy field. Trust me, it’s called happy for a reason. I absolutely loved my room and was so sad I had to leave. I also rented a bike and booked the tour of the Paradise and Dark cave through them which made my trip way more affordable and easy to organize. Everyone was so nice and helpful, the owner especially. I would absolutely recommend it if you’re visiting Phong Nha and surroundings! Shoutout to the owner’s brother Roy for being the best airport taxi I’ve ever had. Great driver and even better company :)

Helped us book a bus to Hue, sorted transport from the hotel to the bus stop. They had the cutest baby my friend was obsessed with!! Such happy and kind people. The view from our room was insane!! Was so beautiful to wake up to The only thing I’d say is that one bed was comfier than the other so we stayed in one of the two beds, and there were quite a few small ants around the room/ bathroom but didn’t effect our stay massively.

• Rocio (9/5): Amabilidad, colaboración y gestión del dueño de la hostal - El lugar es muy lindo, el cuarto muy amplio y cómodo. Lo que más destacó fue la amabilidad del dueño, me ayudó con la reserva de un tour, a recargar mi teléfono y reservar el bus para ninh binh. En dos ocasiones me acompañó en su motocicleta al centro. Y también cuentan con bicicletas para arrendar. Muchas gracias por la hospitalidad y el buen servicio. Es un poco alejado de la ciudad y grab no funciona muy bien. (No hay motocicletas grab) Pero si tienes moto no hay problema. De todas maneras en bicicleta debe ser alrededor de 20 minutos o un poco más, pero de noche es una zona muy oscura. Quizás en esta época considerar la calefacción porque es un poco frío.
• Chu-I (8/5): - The host is kind and caring. The view from the bungalow is astonishing. I especially liked the omelet they serve at breakfast. They also offer motorbike rentals and kindly helped me book a bus for the next day. It can get quite cold inside the bungalow in January, and the hot shower only lasts about five minutes. Also, when I arrived, the host showed me a different room than the one I had booked. I had reserved a room in the main building, but he took me to a bungalow and said it was an upgrade with an additional charge. At first, I didn’t realize it wasn’t the room I originally booked. I found this a bit tricky, especially after arriving tired from a full day of traveling. In the end, I accepted the upgraded room because I wanted to rest as soon as possible, and overall I was happy with the room. However, the way the upgrade was presented did not feel pleasant.

• Vasyl (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Our room was located on the second floor of a separate building, which gave us privacy and a very peaceful atmosphere. The view over the rice fields was beautiful and relaxing, especially in the morning. The room had a very fresh renovation and an unusual, stylish design that is quite different from typical Vietnamese hotels — in a very good way. Everything felt new, clean, and well thought out. The owner was kind, welcoming, and very helpful, and it was easy to communicate because he speaks good English. Overall, this is an excellent room for the price, and we would definitely recommend this place to other travelers.
