Guest Reviews
- Alison (9/5): Classy, comfortable apartment out of the busy tourist spots - It was even nicer than the photos showed. Windemere and Ambleside were far more built-up than we'd expected so being at the Newby Bridge location, with a lovely view across fields, and being away from the very touristy towns, was a relief. Beds were very comfortable and the whole building was very warm, spotlessly clean and cosy.
Great for a family holiday with our two young adult daughters.
Two toilets were a handy bonus too! It was quite a long drive to get to the more remote lakes like Buttermere.
Just a couple more small conveniences like a clothes drying rack, kitchen tongs and an extra tea towel would have been great.

- Chris (9/5): - Excellent, clean, tidy property with great facilities. Would highly recommend this property for Windermere and surrounding areas. Nothing
- Rosalyn (8/5): Overall a welcoming property that’s they obviously try to maintain to a high standard. - Well equipped kitchen and all crockery and cutlery was clean on arrival.
You could operate the heating easily.
Didn’t use the laundry room but that’s a bonus ! Some of the lamps didn’t work.
We moved the beds and they hadn’t been vacuumed underneath.
The cafetière was broken.
There wasn’t any instructions for the tv.
The leather sofas would benefit from blankets in winter.
Would have been nice to have some sort of welcome Lakeland treat .
- June (10/5): Would love to revisit . Perfect holiday home . - Loved our stay . Comfortable and with everything we needed . Beautiful barn conversion and ideal spot for travelling around the Lakes . The only thing we had problems with were wasps as there appeared to be a nest nearby . The time of year that they like to nip . We both were stung and kept the window closed afterwards .
- Fabienne (8/5): - Schön ausgestattete Wohnung mit sehr viel Charme. Wir haben uns bei unserem Kurzaufenthalt dort sehr wohlgefühlt. :-)
- Wendy (8/5): - Very well equipped and clean. Lovely barn conversion.
Really convenient for Fell Foot (Nat Trust) and Lakeside. Budgens and Greggs at petrol station just down the road. If you go to bed at different times, the floor creaks above downstairs bedrooms.
Seating area in parking courtyard is a token gesture really and no views.
- Antonina (9/5): Lovely stay off the beaten path - Roomy and comfortable The parking space was at times difficult to get into
- David (9/5): A very comfortable and enjoyable stay - Spacious living area and well equipped kitchen.
- Ronald (8/5): Very good - Clean with all required facilities. Could do with a nice outside area to relax. Had a small cobbled area with table facing car park, but not very nice.
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (8/5): Very good -
- Aidan (10/5): Great break with a fantastic venue - Great location for us, just 1 minute drive from the main road. Nothing it was ideal

- Pat (10/5): Stayed to attend a wedding in Newby Bridge. Booked quite late so we were all pleased with the quality and comfort of thi - Very comfortable upside down house. Beds extremely comfortable. Kitchen well equipped . Extra toilet was a bonus. Quality furnishings. Nothing
- Lorraine (7/5): Really lovely property just a couple of negatives around the noise - Spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated, really comfy beds excellent location for exploring the lakes. In this property the open plan living room/kitchen/diner is on the top and bedrooms below, the wooden floorboards mean that it’s really noisy in the bedrooms when anyone is walking around the top floor. Also the main bedroom is right on the road and it can be very noisy when traffic goes past.
- Eleanor (8/5): A lovely and convenient spot to stay to access the lower end of Windermere. I will be recommending - Great location for a base to get to ‘The Lap’ race and will be recommending to others.
Easy access by car and fantastic to have an EV charger, made life a lot easier.
Easy to find from directions.
Lovely property and beautifully clean and very comfortable beds.
Every facility needed available.
Parking close to property. The sink in the bathroom doesn’t drain at all well.
The floor upstairs, whilst beautiful, is quite squeaky from the bedrooms below.
There was some form of hum (? the extra fridge) which was quite noisy on and off and particularly noticeable at night
- Gary (9/5): Great base to explore the area - Spacious, good views, very clean and good facilities. Close to Lake Windermere. Property was excellent, only minor point was there was No easy way to walk into Newby Bridge so always had to drive.
- Kusum (10/5): Very restful place - The photos do not do justice to the property. It was cosy, clean, properly equipped, quiet and in a lovely location, far from the busy places. The popular sights are easily reachable by car. Nothing
- Alison (10/5): Exceptional - Very spacious for a family of four, and extremely comfortable beds and linen. The photos do not do this property justice!
- Geoffrey (10/5): Such a beautiful property, obviously well cared for by the owners. We couldn’t have asked for more. We really want to re - The property was superb and the attention to detail by the owner was so well thought out. Tea, coffee, sugar sachets and milk pots provided. Toilet rolls , shower gels etc were all there . The property was spotlessly clean and we did feel like we were staying in a luxury property. Thank you so much . Nothing negative to say. Actually better than described.
- Leigh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - Very cosy and well maintained. Well equipped kitchen and very homely!
Tucked away from the main road peacefully located in the countryside.
Very recommended for 3-4 people sharing 2 rooms.
- Simone (10/5): Very comfortable, great location! - Very modern, clean and comfortable. Very spacious and every thing required. Plenty of coat hangers in the wardrobes, very comfortable beds!! Lovely luxury bath sheets and hand towels. Kitchen/living area spacious and all kitchen items required for self catering. Laundry facilities great too!
Location is very good for visiting all towns nearby.
Rusland Pool pub/hotel has a great menu and Large petrol station nearby has supermarket and Costa! Liked everything!
- Andrew (10/5): Fantastic stay, loved the accommodation, would definitely recommend. - The location was great, the accommodation itself was beautiful, very well presented, all the amenities we needed and the bed was extremely comfy.
- Carrie (10/5): Would love to return perfect little property for me and my two sons. We had a great stay and will look to return - Lovely property just what we needed and great facilities and good location for Lake Windermere Nothing
- Diane (10/5): Very enjoyable would book again - It was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything you needed I always find a visitors book good with reviews of places to visit and places to eat
- Dawn (9/5): Relaxing, cosy with fantastic views. - The location, views and the property layout. Artwork is a bit dated.
- Andrew (9/5): Excellent, would definitely return for long or short stay. - Clean, quiet, well presented, warm and comfortable. Slightly creakily floors with bedrooms downstairs
- Louise (9/5): Great location and size for a family of 4. Cosy and warm. - Lovely and clean and warm. Washing machine was useful after a muddy walk. Easy to follow instructions. Bathroom tap was very loose!
- Jie (10/5): Lovely cottage - It boasts elegant decor that exudes a historical charm, seamlessly blended with modern amenities, making the stay truly delightful. N/A
- Howard (8/5): Great location, very clean and nice barn - Lovely property and setting
Very clean and had all the basic facilities Sadly no WiFi although there was a code so it could just have not been working.
Some more info would have been useful- a folder holding things like - where were bins, local info - things like where to find highchair and hoover.
A few amends and this property could be absolutely fabulous but a good and pleasant stay
- Michelle (9/5): Attention to detail amazing. Beds are so so comfy. Towels are luxurious. Definetly recommend - The owners had left lots of essential that you rarely get in property - such as kitchen roll, fairy liquid, cloths, toilet rolls etc The floor boards were very creaky and need a few more plates
- Just_a_coolbean (9/5): Superb - It's a unique barn conversion, it had a rustic and comfy feel. Personal parking space and easy check in! The floors/ floorboards were squeaky when walking ( not that it was a problem for us(
