- Lola (3/5): - Le prix est assez avantageux pour Tamarindo, mais alors on comprend rapidement pourquoi dès l’arrivée. De nombreux équipements de la chambre sont cassés (tringle de rideau pour ne pas être vu de l’extérieur, cuvette des toilettes, l’unique porte manteau, clim faisant un bruit monstre…). Et pour couronner le tout, la personne répondant sur whatsapp se moque bien de nous. Nous sommes arrivés dans les temps au café, mais il était fermé et nous n’avons pas pu être servis du petit déjeuner compris dans le prix, c’est inadmissible!! et ne vous laissez pas berner par les soi-disant 13% de discount offerts au café 13, il est fermé TOUTE la journée. Franchement nous sommes restés une nuit pas deux!

Las chicas de Café13, que trabajan para el hotel, son muy simpáticas y nos han ayudado en todo, Erika, cocina fabulosamente bien, Gari Y Neri, muy atentas con el servicio, y Laura en administración muy amable, para que no nos faltara detalle. Nos llamó la atención las reseñas anteriores negativas, el hotel ha cambiado y la gestión ahora por lo que hemos visto nosotros mismos, es muy buena! Limpieza, agua caliente, aire acondicionado, y justo enfrente de la playa, el desayuno incluido… no se puede pedir más!! Quizás, la atención personalizada al llegar a la puerta, de hace un poco frío, pero nos adaptamos bien, para llegar a la habitación y recoger la llave. Es muy sencillo
- Dennis (6/5): Pueden mejorar - Ubicación No hay personal a la hora de llegar, nadie te atiende ni contestan llamadas, la recepción esta cerrada 24/7. No hay parqueo y te dicen que puedes dejar el carro al frente y resulta que es un parqueo de empleados de otra empresa, por lo que nos dejaron ingresar. El parqueo más cercano está como a 500 metros y cobran ₡1.000 por hora. Tienes que pagar para que te atiendan (solo por transferencia o depósito) y dice que no es reembolsable la reservacion. Como pagas algo a alguien que ni siquiera conoces, no te contesta y no sabes si te van a atender o puedas ingresar al lugar. Luego de 45 minutos nos indican que el pago no se hizo, una vez que se hizo el pago, nos indican que aún no se ha hecho. Luego de casi la hora de esperar afuera nos dan las indicaciones y pudimos ingresar. Se está perdiendo el contacto con el cliente que es tan importante. Indican que el desayuno está incluido y es una muestra del mismo. Porciones sumamente pequeñas.

Bem perto do centro, bares e restaurantes. Não poderia ter escolhido melhor. Infelizmente os preços em Tamarindo são altos e o Surf Ranch não é diferente, mas é a melhor opção considerando os custos de lá.

- Krista (1/5): In the courtyard and missed my ride to the airport - Nada I wasn’t even able to get the self check in codes to get into my room and yet they say that they have video of me sleeping in the room at noon. Nope. I have asked to see video and what I look like and codes and lockbox code for room I was never able to access as I have no phone and was using a friend’s and the codes came 15 minutes later and I had separated from my friend and his phone I was using so this place i lying and no refund?!?! UNPROFESSIONAL LYING THIEVES

- Susan (7/5): Practical, comfortable, overall, it’s a good place to stay. - The location, the room is comfortable, it’s a nice place. There were no towels to dry your hands, the bathroom mat didn’t absorb any water, and it was very easy for water to spill out of the shower. There’s only one trash can in the bathroom , there should be one under the desk as well. The hairdryer didn’t work either. There’s also a lack of organization with communication and the staff. On the last day of my stay, breakfast wasn’t going to be served and no one gave any notice. When I got to the place, the cleaning lady just said breakfast wasn’t being served, and that was it, no solutions. I had to message the owner, who wasn’t even there. They offered me a free lunch for the following day, but I wasn’t going to be there anymore

Just across from the beach and a couple nice restaurants, couple blocks from a surf rental shop, and a 5-10 minute walk to the city center. Place was clean and AC worked well. It was nice to have a shared shower outside as well as the one in our private room. To first rinse off from the beach before bringing in any sand and salt. Easy checkin and out. there's no staff at the hotel, but you can whatsapp them and they will answer quickly.

- Karen (1/5): Won’t stay there never again. - Nothing, it really was not a good experience. There’s no one of the hotel there, you don’t have anyone to talk. The reservation included breakfast, but there was nobody there, it was closed at 9:15am on a week day! So basically my family and I had to buy our breakfast on a restaurant. There’s nobody to solve anything doubt or issue. There were really big cockroaches on the room, no concierge really any customer service. The people who manage WhatsApp number to chat is really not responsive at all. Not even through booking. This reservation was a nightmare since the first day.

Met amazing people in this hotel and the staff & owners were very hardworking and friendly people! - The room was the perfect size, always cleaned, the hotel was very clean as well. Breakfast was great and amazing workers too! Mark was the absolute best! The stay was overall amazing, I have nothing bad to say but If there could be one thing that could be fixed it would be the shower head. The bathroom was the perfect size though & the toilet was nicely decorated when we arrived. We really liked the extra detail. My friend is also a very light sleeper and she did wake up to noises of the cleaners very early in the morning! So light sleepers, bring your earplugs to avoid being woken up if you mind :)

- Bronwyn (8/5): Great option for surfing - The staff are very nice and helpful. The breakfast was good with three options to choose from. Location was excellent for us as we wanted to try surfing every day and it is right across from the beach and good waves. There are surf racks in the courtyard too. An easy walk to lots of restaurants and food courts. There is nowhere to hang bathing suits etc to dry! It can be a bit noisy but we had earplugs for sleeping. It would be nice to have lamps in the room for reading and nightstands by the bed as either the very bright light is on or off. Even a dimmer switch would be good.

There was no one there, we had just flown in that day, it was nighttime and we were standing on the street with all our luggage. When we were finally able to find a location with wifi and communicate with the after hours contact through whatsap we kept being told that the front door access code, room number as well as the room lock box code had been sent previously emailed to us. We kept telling him that we could not access the email and would he please let us know the room number and access codes. Finally after one hour he relented and sent the code information. We have been staying in Tamarindo for the past 11 years and have never had such a rude, unprofessional experience. The place itself was okay, just as expected, but management needs some tweaking.

- Vivienne (1/5): Regret staying! Worst customer service ever! - The only good thing is that we only booked one night! Wifi works well. Worst check in experience ever! I received an email at 1.30pm with check in instructions and codes to get the room. We had arrived a little bit early and as this is supposed to be a self check in hotel and it was pouring rain we tried to check in at 2pm. We got into the room everything seemed ok, not even 5 min later a lady came in and took away the keys and told us to leave because check in is 3pm. I asked her why we weren't able to use the room already (keep in mind it was pouring rain, the room was ready and there is no lobby or hang out area that will be covered) when i asked why we weren't able to use the room the answer was because check in is 3pm and thats the rule. I would have totally understand if the room wasn't ready or there was any reason for it but ot was complete spite for no reason at all. At 3pm i was told i couldn't have the room that was assigned to me ( i booked a queen suite) because it cam hold 4 people and we are only two. After some discussion i was let into my room (same room as before, nothing had changed) For breakfast, the owner stated on a google review thah breakfast is valued at 25$ - there are 3 options to choose from, two of them they didn't have and the third one she didn't have all the ingredients - according to her they forgot to do the shopping and so we got one egg (instead of two), half a slice of toast and a hash brown. She was so "kind" to give us some watermelon instead. You can have black coffee with sugar. If you want milk you have to pay 1$ extra. I have neve experience such a weird place. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else!

Save yourself the headache and stay somewhere else! - Great location The fact that I was told the day of arrival that I had a choice to stay in a room with a roof leak or separate into to rooms. I am a single mom traveling with two kids. No staff on duty. Door left open, not safe on a busy street where anyone can enter. No security. Rooms smelt like mold! We left after one night. Read all the reviews!

- Armstrong (6/5): Pleasant - Pictures on website deceiving you are across the beach have to go through one of the properties across the street to enter the beach. No Parking available at the facility. Enter the rooms via Street Gate which is not that secure.
- Carly (9/5): Simple clean atmosphere, great value…hidden gem on a busy street & the restaurant next door is yummy - Staff was amazing. Great low-key location in the middle of town. They use a key code system for the front door and the one we got didn’t work. This could’ve been quite frustrating as there’s no reception or person on site after hours. Luckily awesome people made sure we could get in when we needed to.

- Armani (5/5): We enjoyed the location but felt the accommodation was over priced for how basic it was. - Loved the proximity to the beach , good location and the staff were great. Bedding was clean. Enjoyed the breakfast included. It felt more like a hostel than a hotel. No one seemed to be managing the space. Very basic 1 star accommodation that was really overpriced. The room was simple not enough space for clothing and the bunk bed for the children squeaked anytime someone moved while sleeping. The photos did not really give a sense of the accommodation.

- Heidi (9/5): Superb - Nice staff. Close to the beach. Good breakfast. Clean room. The overall experience was great! There was a sound from the waterheater or something that was a bit annoying. My husband could not sleep well. So if one is sensitive to noise maybe not the best place to stay.
- Emma (5/5): Good location - Comfy bed, very good location right opposite Witches Rock, friendly hard working staff who also work the lovely cafe 13 next door, Dianne was very nice. Would say it is a hostel not hotel. No one ever in reception the whole 3 days, saw the ?manager once for 5 minutes on her laptop in the cafe seemed unapproachable, so never had anyone to ask about excursions/surf lessons in person, luckily witches rock (in front) helped with this and let us park at their resteraunt, very noisy we heard the water pump constantly through the night, pillows are uncomfortable

Lovely friendly and helpful staff Spacious comfortable rooms Amazing big shower with hot AND water cold taps, good pressure :) Breakfast included too which the other places I stayed for the same price had only cold water tap in shower and no breakfast!

- Marsha (1/5): Over priced and not worth the cost - Just the location. The breakfast was small and they charged us for almond milk coffee. The sheets didn’t stay on the mattress, the shower leaked all over, the air conditioning stopped working and the manager never responded to our requests for assistance. For $500, they price gouged us. The manager was too busy having a party in the restaurant to respond to our requests.
- Zeynep (3/5): Sub-par - The location First of all, I want to mention that I wasn’t expecting Four Season service. The first two-three days the shower wasn’t working which is an inconvenience that could happen, unfortunately that took a while to resolve. We sent them a message saying there wasn’t running water in the room- I got no replies. Then I asked if we could get some hand towels because we were only given body towels. Their reply was “we have suspended facial and hand towel service because guests have been taking them home”, still no replies as to why we didn’t have running water and on top of that we weren’t given any towels. Weird way to solve the issue when the hotel could have been taken deposit for the towels. Then we proceeded to send a long message saying how we were disappointed in this prolonged issue with the water and the unresponsiveness. And of course, not surprisingly, we got no replies to that message as well. Good for us that we managed to get two more extra beach/body towels that we used for our hands and hair. The cleanliness was another issue that just baffled us. In the toilet there was a sign saying “please don’t throw toilet paper in the toilet as housekeeping will empty the trash each day”. The trash was never emptied until we told them to on day 3. In the email they sent us, there was a line saying “every two days the room will be tidied up and deep cleaned once a week” or something. Even when they dropped the extra towels for the showers, nothing was tidied. The bedsheets clearly needed replacing and they seemed to be blind to the fact that they needed to clean at some point which they surprisingly noticed when we pointed out. Actually the first time we told one of the housekeeping ladies to clean the room she said she’d clean but the room was exactly the same when we got back that night.

- Silvestri (10/5): Exceptional - Staff was great. Laura, Lia, and especially Juan! Nice breakfast included, and across the street from the beach. Price was a bit high for my wallet, but unsurprising for the location and quality of the facilities. The staff are great!
- Brittany (1/5): Do not stay here -promised a refund and nothing was sent. - We booked this location for 3 nights December 8,9,10 2023. We are both 30s and very low maintenance travellers. On December 9 the air conditioner was not working. It was hot, sweat dripping into your eyes hot. When speaking with the staff member working she said she could not help and to message on whats app. After messaging another staff member on whats app we were told the unit would not be able to be fixed until after our stay and there was no other rooms available. We were told we would be fully refunded for December 9, 10 and that this refund had been processed by the manager. Because of this we packed up our things found new accommodations across town. This relocation was a hassle but we were pleased to be getting a refund. A week passes no refund… we message the whatsapp contact with no response. (They were always very quick to respond) We contacted both email addresses multiple times with no response or refund. We have yet to be refunded. We would have stuck it out if we knew in advance there would be no refund. DO NOT STAY HERE. Terrible customer service. And false promises. We gave up our room as instructed with no compensation. We have done our share of backpacking and have never ran into these issues. I will change my review if a refund is issued. Other items to note. Very loud next to a night club. This was actually a huge disturbance music playing past 3am. You can feel the bass. You are not beachfront. The beach is across the very busy road. It is loud constantly and wasn’t quite what we imagined. Rusty refrigerator Low water pressure as noted on other reviews
