• Karin (10/5): - Don is the perfect host. We felt welcome, looked after and very comfortable. It was very quiet and the bed was very good. The location is perfect to explore the east of Auckland. Bus stop near the house. Beach and Lookout a short walk... A great place to stay.

• Doreen (10/5): - Ich habe mich super wohl gefühlt. Ich kam abends in AL an. Don, der Gastgeber holte mich als Alleinreisende an der Bushaltestelle im Zentrum ab. Er ist sehr nett und zuvorkommend und um seine Gäste besorgt. Die untere Etage ist für due Gäste, er wohnt oben. In der Küchenzeile gibt es Kaffee, Tee, Wasser und eine frische Flasche Milch. Sehr gute Lage und zu Fuss zur Bushaltestelle gibt es einen panoramareichen Weg ca 10 min. Der Bus geht regelmäßig direkt ins Zentrum. Die ruhige Lage und das weiche bequeme Bett sind perfekt.

The location is also great, with buses nearby and parking available if you’re driving. So many restaurants just down the road with a beautiful beach in any weather, but honestly, it’s so cosy here you’ll just want to stay in and relax.
• Monique (10/5): Five stars for Don and his little slice of calm—I’d move in if I could! - If you’re looking for a place that instantly feels like home, this is it. From the moment you arrive, Don makes you feel right at home. He’s genuinely one of the friendliest and most welcoming hosts you could hope for—always up for a great chat and happy to share local tips (make sure to ask him about his favourite coffee spot, it’s a good one!). The space itself has such a warm, homey feel—beautifully put together, calm, and instantly comfortable. Mission Bay is just down the road, and its lovely no matter the weather—perfect for a walk along the beach or a lazy afternoon people-watching by the water. There are plenty of restaurants nearby too, but honestly, the Airbnb is so cosy and relaxing that you might just find yourself staying in and ordering some Uber Eats instead. It’s also super convenient to get around—there’s a bus stop just down the road if you’re exploring without a car, but if you’re driving, there’s plenty of space to park right on site. Everything about this place just makes life easy. It’s the kind of stay that makes you want to slow down, unwind, and linger a little longer every time.

Don is not only an outstanding host but also one of the warmest and most welcoming people I’ve ever met—he makes you feel instantly at home. The space is spotless, peaceful, and so thoughtfully set up, and those views still take my breath away no matter how many times I see them. There’s something really special about waking up here and watching the sunrise—it never gets old. The location is ideal too: while the bus stop is close by, I love taking the walk through the memorial park down to the waterfront. It’s such a beautiful way to start or end the day.

The space is spotless, peaceful, and beautifully set, and the views are simply breathtaking. Waking up to those morning sunrises is truly worth it. The property’s location couldn’t be better: there’s a bus stop just down the road, but I highly recommend a stroll through the memorial park down to the waterfront—it’s definitely worth the walk.

He definitely looks out for his guests in a kind yet unobtrusive way. The location was easily accessible to getting around Auckland and not too far of a walk down to a nice beach.

Super comfy bed and very spacious areas. Would have loved a small desk in the room to work from and have private meetings

• Marz73 (9/5): Affordable and comfortable option when travelling to Auckland ( with a car). - The accommodation was very reasonably priced and comfortable, and the provisions were very generous. Still and sparkling water was supplied, plenty of milk, coffee grounds (plunger) or Nespresso pods, and a machine were also provided. There were plenty of tea options too. The very pretty Mission Bay is a short drive away! ( about 20 min to walk). Don the host was also very friendly and helpful!

Don was an amazing host and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable and helped us see the sites that we wanted around Auckland. Complete privacy offered while we were in his house. Best B&B experience yet! More opportunity to make your own food would be nice but the house doesn’t really have the opportunity for that. There is a table, toaster, kettle, fridge, and coffee making equipment (with milk in the fridge). There’s a Nespresso machine and pods for a quick coffee but we LOVED the French press and Nespresso milk fridge.
