• S (1/5): - I was totally shocked when I showed up for my reservation at 6:40PM and was told by the check-in staff that "I have already left for the day and I am NOT coming back to check you in". I was left stranded and had to walk to nearby hotels to beg for availability. I would definitely NOT recommend staying at Alux House This was a horrible experience and I definitely do not recommend anyone staying here
• Kara Lee (9/5): - Loves the kitchen the cookware was great and they had lots of spices. Location was super close to the main areas, free laundry was amazing. Room was big and great air condoning and fans. Minor issues would be that the bed was a bit soft and I have chronic pain so it was a bit rough for me. I wish I would have known sooner there was a chair to sit outside. Would be nice if they had patio stuff there. It is next to a little ally walk way, as a solo female traveler I felt a little uncomfortable and less secure because of it.

• Kristi (10/5): Exceptional - Extremely clean, spacious, and had everything we needed for our short stay. It would be comfortable enough for an extended stay as well. The kitchen had everything you could need and the linens, mattress, towels, etc were great quality and very comfortable. The AC also worked very well and we were able to have a comfortable night sleep. We would stay here again!

• Kevin (10/5): Would definitely stay here again! - The location is perfect. 2 minute walk to the beach, with Alux supplied beach towels and chairs. 3 minute walk to a very good coffee shop and a restaurant that we really enjoyed. The kitchenette is very well equipped . We only spent 2 nights, but wish we stayed longer.

• Charmaine (9/5): Nice Place in Placencia - Alux House was everything we wanted. Nice kitchen with everything we needed. My husband enjoyed cooking there every day. Nice little touch with the herbs and spices to add to our dishes. We love the coffee maker. We love the vegan soaps. The pool was just so delightful to enjoy. It was close to the nice little shops and restaurants in Placencia. The beach is a few steps away. We had a very quiet time by the port every morning for our walks. And then we enjoy a beach swim by the other side where there were very many nice restaurants in front of the beach like Tipsy Tuna, Bohemian... Very close to the nice, long Placencia walkway where all the near souvenir shops are. We will treasure all the memories we've experienced in this wonderful property. ❤️ Mosquitoes and sand fleas are ever annoying the week we were there. They were everywhere. It's not the fault of the house but definitely could do without these creatures

The owner was the worst experience I ever had … called us at 10:30pm, cutting the water while we take showers, ask for extra money for extra linens, made my friend pay extra fees even though he slept on the floor, it was very disrespectful. • Erika (10/5): Amazing location and great facilities!! - The property was spectacular! It was the perfect location. We were 3 minutes from the beach, 2 minutes to the pedestrian path and 5 minutes to restaurants and supermarkets. The lodging was spotless and well equipped. The little pool was perfect for a quick dip. It was probably our favorite lodging during our 10 day trip to Belize! Oh and the staff were super nice and helpful. I highly recommend staying here if you’re in Placencia. Nothing! It was great.

Near things like coffee house "Brewed Coffee" that has things like Seaweed Milkshake! Next to the beach! We did not choose this location for the pool, but the pool was small. Its probably perfect for small kids. Honestly I was not aware it even had a pool so it did not take away from the experience. Its a great place to stay!

Staff was excellent and very responsive to all requests. AC dripped condensation onto my pillow, just moved the bed away. Towel racks not anchored very well, pulled out of drywall. Mattress and pillows were firm. Surprised by cleaning fee, not on website. Some stair treads showing decay, need replacing.

It provided comfort and a welcoming home aw - The details in the accommodations were focused on meeting the needs of the guest. This we found very appealing and would love to back back and invite friends to stay at the property. Parking for our vehicle was outside of the property which was a bit concerning for us.
