Guest Reviews
- Norman (8/5): -
- Graham (7/5): Accommodating staff, stayed during a party long weekend but the AC cut a lot of noise. - The staff were accommodating for my family. It was the August long weekend with the beer tent and they moved us to the other side of the hotel for a bit quieter night. Everything was very basic, if you are looking for a cheap option or just somewhere inexpensive to stay this is the place for you.
- Guest (2/5): - No hot water for showers
- Ian (3/5): -
- Viktoriia (1/5): - There is Cannabis shop exactly by the rooms. People smoke in a bar there. I could feel a strong smell of cigarettes. Wasn't able to stay there.
- Saindon (1/5): Viking Inn, was booked with evacuees. No room available. - Did not stay. No room available.
- Smith (3/5): Disappointed. I won't want to stay there again. If I was desperate enough I would though. - Is a scummy place. So many things they could do t9 improve it. Cleanliness really needs work. Air conditioner vents look like wasn't cleaned for 10 years. The bead spreads stink so we think they dont wash them. The woman t the feint desk acted like she didn't care about us and like she didn't want to be there. The lamps were so old and run down. The beds were horrible to sleep in, cheap beds. Polyester bed sheets they were so hot to sleep in. Smelled funny in the hallways. The plave could be really nice if they would just put some money into fixing it up.
- Kent (7/5): Good stay and affordable. - For the Money the room was good. Everything was a bit dated but it was clean and had everything one would need. It was nice to have access to the restaurant in the hotel. Rooms need to be updated, for the price this is not a deal breaker. Could be a bit noisy if staying on the weekend with the bar located in the same facility.
- Giant (10/5): Exceptional -
- Larry (8/5): Very good -
- Menacho (5/5): Need better beds - Price Beds
- Kanamuenwai (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (8/5): Excellent stay - Quiet No restaurant
- Ben (3/5): Poor -
- Juan (7/5): Good, non expensive, well located hotel for couples. - Location is good, staff was friendly, price was fair, the bar and entertainment options were a good surprise, close enough to downtown/beach first room we had assigned was still occupied or wasn't cleaned after last guest, new room was clean enough but the bathroom had wear and tear spots specially the tub, nothing major
- Samara (7/5): Okayish - Amenities. Fridge and microwave
The guy at front desk was good and helpful
The lady was rude They didn't have teabags
The bathroom door was making squeaking and creaking noise and it was jam too.
The kettle was not clean
There were stains in the bathtub.
- Friesen (1/5): Bad - Nothing was good No one was at the front desk to check me in for 40 minutes. Not even a call bell available so I had to wait. No hot water. The shower didn't even get warm, it was cold. Didnt warm up at all. No coffee for the coffee maker. Had to switch rooms because the drains were clogged with hair and wouldn't drain immediately after finally checking in and the first thing I wanted to do was shower. Fixtures were broken where I didn't even feel comfortable plugging in my work lap top.
- Ali (8/5): Very good -
- Darcy (2/5): They over charged me a 100 , they say bye accident but still havent reimbursed me. Watch your charge -
- Bill (8/5): Very good -
- Charlotte (7/5): It was good - The parking was incredibly convenient, and i loved that the pub was so close! The cleanliness, it also had a weird smell. Kind of humid, sticky and musty.
- Shannon (9/5): Superb -
- Ruberto (8/5): Very good -
- Henry (6/5): Average - No breakfast served. You need new mattresses we both got sore backs. Mattress’s were shot.
- Sukhveer (7/5): Good -
- Schille (1/5): The worst stay I have had in a Canadian hotel in many many years. - My sister booked a room via your website several weeks before me for herself and her husband. She checked in before me and the hotel staff told her she had a double room and I had a queen room. She erroneously thought she had a room with one double bed and I had a room with one queen bed. The hotel staff gave her my room which was booked under my name not hers. So she got a room with a queen size bed and vinyl flooring which smelled okay . When I checked in I got the room she had booked under her name which was a room with not one double bed but rather two double beds. That room was more expensive than the one I had booked and had old carpeting and smelled terrible. Although there was a sign that said there was a $250 fine for smoking in the room, the room had a musty smell mixed with old stale cigarette smoke. I returned home to the hotel after a wedding reception early Sunday morning and discovered both beds had one sheet and a bed spread. I did not want to sleep with the hotel bedspread on. The desk was closed so I could not ask for a blanket. There was no phone in the room so I could not call to ask for a blanket. The room had a wall air conditioner and the fan had four settings but no matter which setting you put it on the fan blew at the same speed on high. So I had to sleep with the air conditioner blowing on at my bed which was very cold. I did not want to shut it off as it was very hot that day. The hotel desk staff also worked in the bar so there was a bit of a wait at the desk as they couldn't see me standing there when I checked in and checked out. The hotel staff should never have given my sister my room which was booked on a separate date under my name which is different from hers. She was settled in her room when I checked in and I did not want to cause a fuss and make her and her husband switch rooms. The hotel is old and run down and the horrible musty smell in my room didn't get better with the air conditioner on.
- Nolan (5/5): Passable -
- Dabiri (7/5): Good - Staff were friendly
Parking is close and accessible
No bedbugs It was not clean enough
- Darla (5/5): It was okay for 1 night. - The price The bathroom facilities need replacing.
The bar had No wine.
It required a $250.00 deposit.
- Lindsey (5/5): Good value for a place to crash. You get what you pay for. - Price and location. Priced accordingly. Nice to be off the main strip as it’s quieter. Staff was friendly too! The Air Conditioning unit sucked: was loud and blew cold-ish air but couldn’t cool the entire room and we were hot all night. The lighting in the suite was pretty terrible and it was hard to see much in there. Would recommend changing the light fixtures or adding lamps. The light switches were also confusing and the arrangement made no sense, making it difficult to discern the bathroom switch from the rest.
Would also recommend screens for the windows and double blinds.
- Chornogor (8/5): Very good -
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Melissa (1/5): Worst hotel in Manitoba! - The only good thing about this place that should really be Shut Down was the location! It started with the TV that didn't work. Then 1am went to get in bed and there was like sand or something on pillows, sheets and blanket. The wifi and tv also go put at this point. My Son went to front desk and it was all locked up without any staff on the grounds and all the doors where left open with a bunch of drunks fighting outside all night! Went into bathroom and hair was everywhere and not from a head either! Terrible and dirty! Checked out as soon as we could! Staff had alot of attitude as well whwn explai ing why we wanted to check out and not stay next night!
- David (7/5): Worth paying 100 vs 200 just for 1 day. - All was what expected. Would have liked a hair dryer. The band in the pub was excellent! Hard beds.
- Eloisa (8/5): Very good - Location is good!
- Louise (7/5): It was a nice weekend to be in Gimli and the hotel is near all the venues! - Room was clean, beds were comfortable and great location! I’d definitely go back
- Jessie (4/5): Disappointing - Beds and sheets were comfortable. Location was good No wi-fi, asked about it and staff just said " yeah it doesn't really work". Bathroom was stained/dirty like an elderly uncles house.
- Rishab (6/5): Pleasant -
- Murray (7/5): Good - The staff and management were friendly and considerate. The motel is part of an active bar and gaming machine facility. Clients departing late at night were quite loud and inconsiderate in the parking area.
- Rasool (7/5): Good - Room was clean Bed was a little uncomfortable. Receptionist was not fully trained. Not professional. They couldn’t find our reservation. Took $250 pre-authorization deposit which we were not aware of and the receptionist did not tell us that when we called to ask about rooms. They couldn’t print out the receipt with full details about the cost.
