Guest Reviews
- David (10/5): - Great location, lovely staff. Nice food. Great value for money
- ierfan (10/5): Comfortable stay, great hospitality, delicious food, and beautiful views near Pangong. - The staff were very friendly and provided excellent service throughout my stay. The room was comfortable and clean, the food was delicious, and the views around the property were beautiful. Although I had to wait around 30 minutes for the owner during check-in, he sincerely apologised and handled it professionally. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. Nothing significant. There was a short wait during check-in as the owner was away, but it was resolved well and did not affect my stay.
- Kumar (10/5): - Service is very good & very humble guy.
- Bharat (7/5): - Good Good
- Priyanka (9/5): - Hospitality was very good.
- Rafik (10/5): - My stay here was great. The host is friendly and provided me with ample blankets, hot water and great food. Also, the room and bathroom were clean and the shower was hot. Would highly recommend.
- Rajeev (10/5): Great Cottages, very good service, value for Money. - We visited Pangong Tso in May 2026 and it was freezing cold (-11°) But we found that the owner was very caring, he provided hot water instantly upon our arrival and had managed clean rooms and provided good freshly made hot food. TOTAL Value for money. Owner Mr. Thinless, took special care by providing extra blanket and hot water bags to warm the beds at night. Highly recommend. Every thing was perfect.
- Muskan (10/5): Excellent one - Unkle was so good make very tasty food and so sweet the stay is value for money at best location nd you will have proper comfort there. I like everything
- Rohan (10/5): Best Stay at Pangong - Staying at Ibex Cottages near Pangong Tso was truly one of the highlights of my trip. The wooden cottages are not only beautifully built but also offer an absolutely stunning, uninterrupted view of the lake—waking up to that scenery is something I’ll never forget.
What makes this place even more special is the owner, a retired army soldier, whose kindness and warmth instantly make you feel at home. His dedication to taking care of guests is remarkable—he goes above and beyond to ensure your comfort. From providing hot water bottles to keep you warm in the chilly weather to personally checking in on guests, his hospitality is genuine and heartfelt.
The cottages themselves are very clean, cozy, and well-maintained, which adds to the overall comfort of the stay, especially in such a remote and cold location.
If you’re planning a visit to Pangong Tso, I highly recommend staying at Ibex Cottages. It’s not just a place to stay—it’s an experience filled with warmth, care, and unforgettable views.
- Mousumi (10/5): Excellent - The host was excellent- he was such a good host and he made sure that guests were comfortable and he cooked us a sumptuous simple meal that we Enjoyed Nothing
The govt should do more to develop the area .
- Venkatesh (9/5): I had a wonderful stay in Ladakh. The hospitality of the hosts was warm and welcoming, which made the experience even be -
- Linh Bao Vu (9/5): - The place is run by an ex-military man (Mr. Sonam?) who is nice and accommodating - he helped us book a pickup truck back to Leh when my companion was too unwell to ride his bike back. There are only 4 rooms but they are all clean and comfortable, with booking includes free breakfast (delicious dinner is home-cooked at 300rs/pax). Electricity and wifi are only available from 7-11pm which seems to be the norm at Pangong. There is no water geyser but the host will provide a bucket of hot water when requested. The curtains are not thick enough to completely cover the windows.
- Tim (9/5): Übernachtung im Rahmen einer Motorradreise - Der Aufenthalt war richtig gut. Die Zimmer sind sehr sauber und gut ausgestattet. Der Besitzer ist sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend.
Jederzeit gerne wieder.
- Pawan (9/5): - The location was amazing and the staff was very sweet and helpful. Keep your electronics charged since the electricity is only available between 7 PM - 10 PM.
- Utkarsh (10/5): Nice host and decent abode. - The cottage is owned by a formal army soldier. The amenities are what you expect in a remote cottage with no electrical lines. It's the same for every cottage in Lukung. The generators run only from 7pm to 10:30 pm and you should come to Pangong tso for the views and adventure and stay away if you are seeking comfort. Also, you will be dying for oxygen if the generators run all night or if you have heaters in your room. I'd rather stay alive than just be comfortable.
In terms of the cottage and host, Thinley is one of the nicest people I have met on my trip. He made Kadha for my cousin when he had a cold and fed us chai at all times of the day. He made food 3 times a day and it was pretty decent imo. The rooms are basic with a comfortable and warm bed but the prices are more than competitive compared to other cottages and it's totally worth it. I would stay in Thinley's cottage next time I come to Pangong and decide to stay in Lukung.
- Medhekar (8/5): Very clean home stay with great view. - The home stay was very very clean. The bathroom was good too. It’s a new place and the linen, towels were very clean. The view of the lake is spectacular. It’s run by a very sweet ex army gentleman and his son who went out of their way to serve us. The dinner and breakfast served was delicious too. They gave us pipping hot water in a bucket for a bath as it does not have geysers. But it was enough. All in all recommend this place very highly
