- Louise (5/5): Despite the great location and sea view from the terrace, it’s doubtful we will stay at this hotel again or recommend it - Location perfect and terrace has a fantastic view of the sea. Decorated really nicely and cleanliness fairly good on the whole Small double room is far too small for two adults and should be advertised as single occupancy only. Nowhere to store small suitcases in the room. We stayed for 2 nights and the room was not cleaned inbetween nights, with no fresh towels or more toilet rolls added. One can of water was replaced and that was it. Would expect fresh towels and a clean inbetween as this is standard is most hotels. No warm water for showering on the first morning of our visit for our whole party of 8 people. Advised there was an issue with the boiler when we reported this, but no one has contacted us to advise of this issue. We had an evening meal booked for our first night, and sadly 7 out of 8 in our party reported the food to be either poor, very small portion size, or even worse inedible due to poor cooking. We did have a refund for 3 of the meals. The traditional breakfast was good, but the continental offering is very poor, as pastries, yogurt and cereal do not equate a continental breakfast. On our first morning, we were told by the waitress to “ fill up on the continental choices first as there was a long delay on cooked food”, even though we had rebooked a time slot. Some of hotel staff were quite rude on occasions and it felt like customer service was a hindrance to them. We would like to however, give a special mention to both Penny and Patience who were the only staff who were attentive, professional, courteous and very obliging. They are a credit to the hotel and their customer service skills really did make our stay more pleasant. We sat in the bar on the 2nd night and had a few drinks. Some of our party wanted hot drinks and we were told by one of the staff to “take our time deciding what we wanted, as they were going outside for a fag (their words!)”. This is not the expended standard of service we’re used to, and for the price you are charging for accommodation and also food & drink, we expect a much higher standard of service.

Super close to five arches carpark important when having to wheel large luggage. Decor was lovely and the room itself was large. No lift in the section we were in which made carrying large luggage hard up the stairs to get to your room.

- Julie (9/5): - We loved our stay at the Imperial. Our room was beautiful. Very close to all amenities and the terrace was just breathtaking! The staff were lovely and very helpful. Couldn't do enough for you. Our little pooch enjoyed his stay too! As my hubby has a serious medical condition and needs to be close to hotel after going out for evening meal. When we came to relax in our room to watch TV it was very hit and miss. We understand that the pesky seagulls play a big part so it didn't spoil our overall stay. We are going back!

It wasnt even luke warm, it was cold. We stopped by the bar and sat out on the terrace about 6pm. Drinks had to be ordered online by scanning QR code, however the choice of alcoholic drinks was extreme poor as everything was listed as sold out! 1 choice of lager, no beers available, 1 flavour of cider etc

Really comfy bed and lovely clean modern bathroom. One gripe our TV didnt work, they sent someone to fix but he was unable to. But we only had one night, so wasnt a major issue. Lovey breakfast and staff attentive. TV didnt work.

The elevator to the third floor was out of order throughout our stay. The television did not function properly. The staff managed the establishment in a manner similar to a club. We requested an alternative room, which was the last remaining option. Although our television frequently experienced issues, the staff was unable to resolve the problem. The broken elevator was under maintenance, but this occurred during a holiday weekend...

We had two labs with us and they soon learnt where the desk treat jar is ! We will be back x It was fine for us but due to the nature of the hotel (three buildings into one )there is quite a few stairs and uou find yourself going up and down a lot it can get a bit confusing.

- Nicky K Lewis (9/5): Wonderfully unique and refurbished to a very high standard - Totally refurbished recently. Dyson hairdryer and Smeg kettle. Double walk in shower. Seaview was amazing. Very dog friendly. Allowed at the restaurant table everywhere. Lift says 300kg and going down took 2 humans and a dog but not going up. Building is wonderfully unique but that means steps all over the place.

- karen (1/5): Not what you see in the pictures - The location was excellent The place is not what the pictures show. It’s more of a motel 6. We booked a sea view room and it had a patio in front of the windows. A very nice clerk moved us up to the 4th floor to a room with a small window and small lopsided room. The elevator was the slowest. They had some scooter group and a deejay played the worse music so loud we could hear the bass in our room. It’s a tired hotel with few amenities and a very high price for not what they advertised. Stay away!!

- ROGER (7/5): Excellent location and views with friendly staff, but hotel didn't quite make the most of its assets - Location, sea view and general hotel decor was clean and fresh, helped by recent hotel refurbishment Restaurant menu limited Rooms a bit small. Very difficult to get 2 people sitting in window area to appreciate the wonderful sea views. Patio doors (instead of bay window) leading outside to the flat roof area would have enhanced the views and comfort.

- Mark (9/5): Pleasant stay, though some things let it down. - Staff were friendly and generally helpful, good location and comfortable beds. That you can't even order a sandwich for lunch from the restaurant, unless you order afternoon tea 24 hours in advance. The elevator is useless, the doors kept opening and closing, which isn't much fun when you have heavy suitcases to move up and down the many staircases.
- Aaron (7/5): Good location, just don’t stay over a weekend - Good location in the town. Walkable to the beach, town, supermarket, car parks and attractions. Saturday afternoon DJ in the restaurant/bar/reception. Very loud which you could the thumping of the bass in our 4th floor room. We found out that the hotel was hosting a local radio station for a broadcast and launching a Rock festival. We would not have chosen the hotel if we knew this beforehand.

- Nathan (5/5): Poky room, friendly staff - Location, patio overlooking castle beach, recent renovation Room was tiny - a single room with a double bed. Bed recent but not so comfortable. We had to take it in turns to get changed! Weirdly the safe was under the bed, the room was so small
