Guest Reviews
- Anita (10/5): -
- steven (7/5): Lovely quirky 2 bed house perfect for a short stay - Sticking bathroom doors very noisy 1 door didn't close.chilly down stairs
- siobhan (5/5): Short stay in wetherby - Location was great for shops and restaurants
Free parking across road from property
Early check-in and late check out Heating didn't go above 16 degrees for 1st 24hrs we were there. Was given a small fan heater on 3rd visit from owner to help but couldn't leave this on when we went out or to bed as wire damaged at back. After been given heater no further contact from owner to check all was ok.
Property could do with some TLC especially doors upstairs and storage cupboard in main bedroom and seating downstairs. Advertises can sleep 6 but wouldn't recommend for more than 2 adults
Excessive signage with regards to neighbours needing quiet time, despite been on a busy noisy road and church bells sounding regularly.
- Mark (6/5): A convenient location to visit family in the area and would return in warmer weather! - Great central location. Easy to find. Convenient parking. Living room and kitchen hard to keep warm (it was very cold outside). The heating was on 24/7 but room temperature hovered in the 16-19 degrees range despite overriding the water temperature on the boiler. The bedrooms, by contrast, were easy to get warm. Perhaps the modern slimline radiators downstairs are not powerful enough?
- Theresa (9/5): Shirt Stay - Convenient location with free parking across the road. Good amenities and a welcome pack which was much appreciated. Comfortable beds and a lovely living room with large TV. Could benefit from more storage for clothing etc.
- Chris (9/5): -
- James William (9/5): - Great location, clean and tidy and Matthew very kindly offered to deal with the admin when we had an issue with parking.
- Paul (10/5): - The house was really good for a one-night stay and had everything we needed. The owners sent very useful information and it was easy to get in and lock up afterwards.
- Charles (9/5): A very comfortable and charming cottage in a great location with easy parking. - The charming cottage was easy to access and was warm and comfortable, with great access to the centre of town. There was plenty of useful information about the local area. The beds were extremely comfortable and we slept very well, thank you. The owners provided a welcome pack with bread, milk, butter, fruit etc, and this was a lovely surprise! parking was in the car park just across the street, or slightly further away if full, and a pass was provided. Overall a great stay! Many thanks. Everything was fine thank you.
- Helen (9/5): -
- Lynn (9/5): It exceeded both our expectations. - The location..the free parking .and the welcome pack
- John (10/5): - The cottage was excellent one of the nicest we have stopped in the location was great 2 minutes to town centre and all the pubs it felt very homely and spotless we won't have a problem staying there again Nothing not to like worked for us
- Shaun (9/5): - House was lovely and clean and the location was superb. Nothing, it was fantastic.
- Jamie (9/5): - Nice location. Pretty good value for money. Beds could have been more comfortable.
- Alan (9/5): Very comfortable, very convenient for the races and good value. - Clean and comfortable. Hospitality provisions were very good. Rather eclectic range of cutlery, crockery, towels and bed linen.
- Wilson (10/5): Fantastic - Fabulous location very comfortable indeed. Really welcoming little package on arrival, annoyed with myself for not having time to replenish the apples and bread. We attended a wedding around the corner and as I'm not too well it was perfect for me to come back to just to recharge throughout the day. Only observation I could make isn't a derogerty one but maybe some food for thought for Matthew and Lynne. It's was too cheap 😂 I booked it for the location and to be honest with what I paid I expected it to be a bit ropey. But nope was fantastic. All good.
- Justin (7/5): -
- george (8/5): - Was close to pubs and restaurants and amenities large TV in sitting room Shared bathroom lol - Lot of traffic going past so quite noisy but for length of stay it wasn't an issue
- Stuart (10/5): -
- Greenfield (7/5): - Great location in Wetherby It was noisy
Unfortunately, due to the hot weather, the windows had to be opened, and so not only could the traffic be heard, but worse were the church bells.
The church bells should be mentioned in the initial property overview when searching
- Trebble.M (10/5): - In the centre of Wetherby, free car park opposite m, large supermarket within 5 minutes.
Overall very comfortable. Stairs a bit narrow and steep.
- Fiona (9/5): A lovely stay in a beautiful part of the world. - We loved how homely the Burrow was. All the nice little touches - a well stocked and appointed kitchen and bathroom. We also found the parking options really handy, and the dishwasher a godsend! As you’d expect from an old terraced stone cottage, it was very cosy. Nothing - but if I was leaving a suggestion, we would have loved a cheese grater! And when that’s all you can find to say, you know you’ve had a great stay :-)
- Chantal (8/5): -
- Nita (5/5): - Didn't like the location too noisy.....
- Joanne (8/5): Perfect for our needs - Door locks on both doors into
The bathroom
- Caroline (10/5): Second visit says it all. Will visit again if possible. - Everything you need is there. Nothing we didn’t like
- Julie (10/5): Just what we needed - Great location fabulously clean. A great little find for when we come to see family in the area
- John (8/5): A most enjoyable further stay in the Burrow - The location with easy walking to shops and the centre of Wetherby, also host left a welcome food pack, and also some personal ear buds, soap, face cleansing items in the bathroom Quite happy with whole experience thank you
- Mr&mrsb (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely accommodation, had everything we needed, great location. Nothing
- David (9/5): Superb - A fully equipped two bedroom cottage on a busy main road with parking opposite. Close to town centre and the River Wharfe walks. Great value for money, comfortable and homely.
Happy to recommend. No problems with the property at all.
But as with many places evening meals could be a problem. Some establishments were advertising food, but upon enquiring none was available. Bar 3 seemed to be the most reliable.
- Zoe (9/5): Superb -
- Waines (10/5): Exceptional -
- Teresa (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful property in the heart of the village, excellent facilities, very clean and comfortable. Excellent communication from owners, welcome package on arrival of essentials like bread, milk butter, and fruit. Highly recommend thank you for a lovely stay. Nothing
- Chloe (10/5): Amazing place to stay and would recommend. - The house was very clean and in a great location! The beds were super comfy. Nothing
- Stanley (9/5): Loved our stay and would thoroughly recommend to others - lovely cosy cottage with all you need for a relaxing stay. Comfortable bed and clean throughout . Kitchen well fitted out . Very close to town supermarkets restaurants cafes and bus station. Great place to stay ! Nothing
- Emma (10/5): Perfect, cosy and clean - It was a super location. Clean and cosy and perfect for our stay Everything was wonderful
- Divya (8/5): Very good - V close to the stores. Well kept bedroom It would have been nice if there was body wash. Also we understand that we need to keep our voice low during early mornings and late evenings. But too many hoarding and neighbours telling us several times and making warning sounds made us a lil annoying.
- Candy (8/5): Lovely little cottage in great location in town centre. - Location. Easy parking. Clear and helpful instructions. Lovely clean little cottage with small outside yard to sit. Would have liked curtains over blinds for summer (personal preference).
- Charlotte (7/5): Lovely cottage, perfect for a short stay in Wetherby. - Fabulous location, easy and convenient parking, excellent communication from our hosts. Well equipped with useful appliances for family life (oven, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher, plus washing line outside - they have really thought through what people might need when they come to stay). Wetherby is a wonderful town, we were lucky with the weather that we got to enjoy fish and chips while our daughter paddled in the river, lovely memories for us. It was very good value. Lovely courtyard out the back that our daughter enjoyed pottering in. Would have been lovely to have a few hanging baskets or similar out the back perhaps. It has been recently renovated and is well maintained, felt very clean and fresh. It’s small and there was nowhere to put anything (like surfaces to unpack a few bits, just one cupboard in the main bedroom that was difficult to access because the bedside table was in the way). A couple of clear shelves would have been so useful just to put a few bits on so we didn’t feel like we were just living out of our suitcases. Kitchen had 4 pans but all non-stick with non-stick coating coming off which makes them unsafe to use. We found the bed uncomfortable (but appreciate this is personal preference, we prefer a firm bed).
Neighbour banging on the wall as I was quietly using the kitchen tap before going to bed, this was really unsettling. There are signs everywhere to tell you to be quiet because next door need their rest and relaxation - I totally appreciate living next door to a holiday cottage isn’t ideal for most but we found ourselves tiptoe-ing around so much in case we bothered them, felt like there was little appreciation that it’s a terraced house and that they expected not to hear a single sound. This obviously can’t be helped by the hosts but more for other travellers to be aware of.
- Samantha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chris (9/5): Superb - It's a gorgeous, comfortable cottage with the bonus of a lovely courtyard that gets the sun all day. Parking was across the road and easy.
The location is perfect.
- Sally (8/5): Very good - Unfortunately the Burrow was freezing cold when we arrived with the heating control set at 5°. It took all evening to heat to even a reasonable temperature. Sadly this has coloured our review as otherwise the property definitely met our expectations and there were some lovely touch in the welcome pack.
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional - It was clean and tidy. Such a lovely big bed. Very quiet area. It was very nice to have bread, milk and fruit left for us.
- Sara (9/5): Superb -
- Emily (10/5): Second time we’ve stayed here and we love it :) -
- Keith (8/5): Good value close to town. - Very close to town couple of pubs that do food within 100 yds. Designated parking across the road from the property. Access instructions clear and easy to follow. Wi Fi and TV good. Kitchen well equipped tea bags and milk provided as was a loaf of bread. Bathroom was small but functional. Price was very good. The bedrooms are small, too small for King Size beds these could be replaced with normal doubles to make more room to move around. Ok for two people any more than this would be a squeeze.
- Ryan (10/5): Short and sweet - Lovely well thought out place. Has everything you could need Nothing it was perfect.
- Penelope (7/5): Good -
- Colin (8/5): Very comfortable - Easy access .we'll situated for shops and restaurants. Parking. Quite cold especially in the lounge.
- Joanne (10/5): Everything and more - The stay was fabulous! It had everything I needed, the beds were comfy, it was spacious, and having milk, bread, cereal in was an added bonus! We only stayed as we were attending a wedding but if I ever come back to Wetherby for any reason I’ll stay here again!!
- Glynis (10/5): We both had a comfortable stay at The Burrow - Lovely cottage, and comfortable throughout. Nothing
- Darren (9/5): Great little house for a nice stay - Nice little house with free parking and very close to everything that you need. Signs everywhere saying what to do did make us laugh but a sign everywhere you look is a bit too much for adults :)
- Daniel (10/5): Perfect - Was just perfect an cosy ..
- Richard (10/5): Faultless - Great communication, easy access, easy parking. The house was clean and comfortable. Owners supplied a fresh loaf, milk, tea, coffee pods. Faultless
- Kim (9/5): Perfect for visiting friends in Wetherby. - Great location, very comfortable. Good communication.
- Adrian (9/5): Superb -
- Ashleigh (10/5): Lovely home away from home - Easy parking, easy access, smooth check in and out, clean and a thoughtful touch having the bread, milk, cereal, butter and fruit left for our use. We highly recommend and would stay again.
- King (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hayley (10/5): Amazing 😍 - Me and my daughter stayed for 2 nights, Everything was perfect, warm and cosy and perfect location. There was some breakfast things left for us, bread, milk, butter, cereal and fruit. The parking is free and over the road which is great. All the shops and pubs are close by. The owners seems lovely, only talked via text but where very accommodating. Will definitely back.
- Janhart62 (10/5): Comfortable, spotlessly clean, central location modern cottage. - Immaculately clean, very comfortable, well stocked kitchen, nice essentials left for us on arrival. Good correspondence with directions & key instructions. Car parking available over the road or a little up the street. Road noise quite horrendous outside the front door, till late evening, such a busy road, however it didn't disturb our sleep.
- John (8/5): A most enjoyable stay, we look forward to staying there again in the future - We arrived to find selection of foodstuffs hutch was very good more than sufficient for a basic breakfast in addition condiments, sauces, coffee and tea, milk and fruit and a loaf of bread along with. A number of individual portions of butter The numerous different.toiletries in the bathroom for you to use.
The house is well situated with very easy walking distance to the centre of wetherby, easy car parking over the road, also the provision of a car parking space just up,the rod if required.
- Linsey (9/5): Beautiful little house would definitely return - The complimentary breakfast was appreciated
- M (9/5): A small house in a brilliant location and great for a couple, but good with a couple of children. - We were given the makings for breakfast - milk, bread, coffee, tea and cereal etc. This was absolutely fine for us.
The rooms were clean and comfortable. The house was well presented with everything we needed for a short stay. The keybox was a trial to open.
- Lian (7/5): Host is helpful. Left fresh milk, tea and coffee and lots of information about Wetherby. - The stairs to the bedroom are not good for my knees. The mattress is soft.
- Cathy (9/5): Superb -
- Carpenter (8/5): Great wee cottage with everything you need. - Lovely wee cottage, had everything we needed for a night stop to break up a long journey. It was clean and comfortable. It was really straightforward to get in and out. Pots were getting pretty old from use but that’s a small thing. The volume of signs/times we were reminded to keep the noise down - I respect the need to be quiet and considerate to the neighbours! - it was just a bit off-putting there were so many signs in the house and messages before etc. and I was worried about any small noise we made.
- Gillian (9/5): Quaint little house - Lovely quaint property. Basic breakfast stuff provided for us to use. Nothing
- Natalie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (10/5): Perfect location and lovely little house - Clean, small and quaint. The neighbour
- Michelle (9/5): Superb value for money, excellent location, comfortable stay with all our needs catered for. - Superb location right in the heart of Wetherby, hosts left milk, bread, butter and condiments which was a lovely touch. More powerful shower head would be nice
- Callum (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brian (10/5): Very comfortable place to rest your head after a long journey - Very close to great facilities and good parking, very central Nothing to dislike
- Jacqueline (10/5): Exceptional -
