Nice to be on a farm with sheep and field views (even a vineyard). Bed was very comfortable and a great size. Lovely shower. The patio was superb and we loved the fire pit for a lazy evening outside. Perfect host. Thank you Wendy.
- Amanda (10/5): A lovely stay in a great location for visiting the National Trust properties nearby. - All was exactly as described. The Shepherd’s Hut had everything needed. The decking & view were amazing on a warm Summer’s evening. You can hear the traffic but it didn’t spoil the setting. The lack of WiFi was tricky but this was stated in the information & we embraced it!
- Serena (10/5): Fabulous and beautiful place to stay - What a wonderful location and exceptional hosts! The bed was comfortable and it was a bonus having a shepherds hut with a bathroom. - Dane (10/5): Comfortable, quiet, relaxing, an ideal place to stay. - This was a return visit for me as I travel to Kent on business. Pooks Rest is an ideal stop-off for me, quiet and comfortable with excellent facilities (microwave, coffee machine, hob), a comfortable bed and nice shower room. Despite the weather being unseasonably warm, the log burner was lit for me which made the room warm and very inviting after a long drive. It would be a lovely place to stay as a base if visiting Kent. I really cannot fault Pooks Rest.
- Alexandra (10/5): Such a friendly and quiet stay! - It was a lovely hut where Wendy and family made you so welcome. Waking up to the view and the sheep was beautiful. They even have a pumpkin patch near by to visit, perfect for autumn making it cosy!

There really is not a single negative I could mention. Such a wonderful location, the hut itself has everything you could need, the shower was spacious, the bed was oh so comfortable and the decking was beautiful to sit out on both during the day and at night with the fire pit going strong. Already booked for another break away!
- Aly (9/5): Superb -
- Sutton (7/5): A cosy stay with welcoming hosts. - Very friendly welcome from owners. The flashing light on the fire alarm kept flashing during the night. It also went off on its own accord in the morning which was stressful. Unfortunately that meant we botb had quite an interrupted sleep so didnt feel as reated as we’d hoped.
- Charlie (10/5): Exceptional - I really loved my stay at Pooks Rest. It was exactly what I wanted to switch off and relax and has absolutely everything you need.
The hut looks out over green fields, and you can enjoy watching the sheep, bunnies, and little red robins.
The hut has shops close by and is in a great location to explore the area, e.g., Scotney Castle, Bodiam Castle, and much more.
The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Thank you for a lovely stay. I highly recommend!
- Gemma (10/5): Exceptional - Everything. It was just amazing. A hidden gem Nothing.
- Spence (10/5): Blissful! - Everything. It was very comfortable, had a lovely view, easy to find, very clean, had everything you need. Facilities were second to none. Near to farm shops and general stores. Hosts were friendly and helpful. Sheep and rabbits provided the entertainment! Nothing!
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional - Loved that we could use the bbq and firepit. Wood provided. Made for a great evening 😊 .
Good equipped kitchen as well.
Lovely views, privacy and friendly sheep.
Don't forget to check the board games and books under the bed!
- Elle (9/5): Beautiful homely stay amongst the friendly sheep and gorgeous view - Very easy check-in, felt like our little home for the night. Incredibly clean, gorgeous view and friendly hosts who we met as we were leaving. Mentioned to the hosts already but the carbon monoxide alarm flashes like lightning, the wifi wasn't working and the 10am check out meant we had to be up and out pretty early! Could also hear road noise which I suppose you wouldn't expect.
- Andrew (10/5): Amazing location and stay. Thank you - Amazing locating and beautiful scenery and setting. Awesome facilities for an amazing shepherds hut . Will stay again :) Nothing

- Lenka (10/5): Close to nature - I love the view, very close to nature, looking towards vineyard. If you want re-charge battery and get a way of a busy world, it is the right place. I got fire place in the evening and just watch the nature - great place. N/A
- Arvydas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ann (10/5): Exceptional - A lovey little hut. Very clean and owners very welcoming. Such a lovely place to sleep beside the Sheep. You can also walk down to the woods.

- Aly (10/5): One of the best huts we've stayed in! - Absolutely everything. Just being in nature. Stunning location. Hosts were so lovely (let us feed the lambs 🥰). Hut was clean. Had everything we needed for a short stay. Cosy with the fireplace and firepit options. Wood provided. Bbq available, although we didn't use this. Shops and cafe nearby. That we couldn't stay for longer :)

- Newton (9/5): A cosy little gem. - The view is outstanding.
The outside space is comfortable and affords additional space when the weather is good.
Fully equipped, including firepit and BBQ
Cosy. You could hear the traffic from the main road when you were outside, but we soon got used to it and it did not disturb our sleep.
WiFi was troublesome, but there was roaming reception.
- Claire (10/5): Restful and beautiful retreat - Fantastic get away in a beautiful and peaceful location but easy to get to. Just what I needed. The hosts couldn't have been nicer. Their breakfast fits the location perfectly and it's great value. I highly recommend a stay here..
- Steven (10/5): Amazing escape from everyday life with wonderful hosts and immaculate accommodation. - The hosts were extremely warm, welcoming and friendly and allowed us to experience their beautiful farm. We were able to feed the lambs and walk throughout the beautiful grounds at our leisure.
The Shepherds hut was absolutely spotless and contained everything you would need including a full kitted out kitchen.
It was a very calm and tranquil environment with amazing views. We were only staying for one night! We can’t wait to come back and stay for longer.
- Matt (10/5): An idyllic, peaceful and memorable overnight stay. - I stayed at Pooks Rest for one night as I was attending a wedding nearby, saw the advert and wanted to stay somewhere a little different. I am so glad I did! The cabin is situated on a farm close to provided parking. It has everything you need laid out in a small, cute cabin. Bed was comfy, bathroom clean, shower good, little kitchenette area and wood-burning stove (which I didn’t use). It’s great. The comms leading up to the stay were spot on, telling me all I needed to know. I met Wendy the host the following morning when she delivered my breakfast (worth every penny) and she was friendly and lovely.
I was lucky enough to wake to a sunny morning, opening the curtains of the cabin to the view of the rolling farmland fields, sheep and lambs grazing. I sat and had my breakfast on the veranda, fresh air and only the sounds of the countryside. Absolutely perfect! Nothing.
- Philip (9/5): excellent value for the money and nice seeing the little lamds - the breakfast was very well presented and tasted even better the shepards hut we stayed was like a little tardis and had all we needed would deffently stay again and dispite the rain we had a nice time only criticism would be i felt the bed was a little hard
- Kayleigh (10/5): Most welcoming ! - To start with, communication was fabulous and informative.
Wendy was so welcoming and made us feel immediately welcome and comfortable. The shepherd's hut was immaculate, cosy, and relaxing. The hut had all the necessary equipment and more. The log burner was delightful and warmed it beautifully when it got a bit chilly outside. Wendy provided a beautiful continental breakfast both days, which really set us up for the day. It was all so fresh and delicious! Homemade jam and marmalade were a lovely touch.
Wendy and Graham invited us to meet and bottle feed the new lambs !! Honestly, they're gorgeous, and this absolutely made our stay ! The grounds are beyond beautiful, especially the woods laden with Bluebells ! It was magical !
I couldn't thank Wendy and Graham enough for their hospitality. We felt so relaxed! Highly recommended, and we would love to return to this beautiful little haven ! It's a real hidden gem ! No complaints it was delightful!
- Dane (10/5): Comfortable, clean, peaceful - Wow, what a fabulous find. The Shepherd's Hut is lovely, comfortable, clean and quiet. Every possible facility and a private terrace with countryside views. It was an overnight stop on business for me, I wish I could have stayed longer. No negative comments.
