Guest Reviews
- Francess (10/5): Gorgeous house would love a house like that ! - Absolute gorgeous house ! There was damp on ceilings but obv repairs was getting done
- Victoria (8/5): Lovely break, would definitely stay again - Lovely property in great location Some of the kitchen utensils/pans could do with updating but didn’t spoil anything
- Carol (10/5): - Really nice accommodations and location. Came for a family wedding in the area and will be back. Highly recommend
- Deborah (7/5): - Had a great time spacious comfy beds Two toilets wud be great
- Elizabeth (9/5): Great place to stay - Very comfortable had everything we needed - great location
Communication from the owner very informative and helpful Nothing
- Wyatt (8/5): - The house was nicely decorated, beds very comfortable, nice little touches with tea, coffee biscuits etc Larger fridge/freezer
Non slip mat for shower - i wouldn't say these were dislikes but just suggestions, understand the limited space for a larger fridge/freezer, although a non slip mat for shower is an easy fix
- Amanda (10/5): Very comfortable felt like home easy access to everywhere taxis available. - The key lock had been changed but the lady was lovely on the phone and sorted out immediately thank you x No jug to make cocktails.
But improvise and used the teapot 😂
- michelle (7/5): - The property is a great size and about a ten minute walk into Whitby so a good location. The only thing that could be better was the heating situation. As it was on a timer and the boiler was locked away in a cupboard, it got very cold very quick and having to constantly turn the thermostat up wasn’t great. The children got cold quickly. The heating should be set on constant at 19degrees to maintain the heat in the property, especially in Winter.
- Sara (8/5): Great short break in Whitby - Great location
Modern decor
Comfy king size bed in master bedroom Shame only one toilet in the property
- Angela (9/5): Fantastic place - Fantastic place to stay. Everything we could ask for. Joanne was fabulous.
- Nick (10/5): -
- Jayne (10/5): -
- Dennis (9/5): A very comfortable and pleasant stay. - Location was very good to explore Whitby on foot, remembering that Whitby is very hilly. Parking was on the road, but was not a problem. The house was very clean and well appointed with plenty of room. Large bedrooms with very comfortable beds and a large bathroom, overall a very comfortable and pleasant stay. Nothing.
- CHRISTINE (10/5): -
- donna (8/5): - It was a lovely house in a good position, 5 mins from the train station. You could see the Abbey from small attic bedroom. I would recommend staying here. Another toilet would be good, some walls around the house could do with some coats of paint. The back yard was very tiny. Not much room for own food in kitchen.
The car parking was a bit poor. We had to park on next street.
- Stapylton (9/5): - The property was clean and comfortable, a lovely base for a stay away from home Not a problem for us but be aware that, as with a lot of places in Whitby, it is a short but hilly walk to the property from the town. The only thing missing was a way to dry your clothes after a day at the beach. No dryer, clothes horse or clothes line. The heating couldn't be switched on which would have been fine had we another way to dry clothes.
- Jane (8/5): - Joanne kept us informed on any information leading up to our trip lovely apartment all your basic needs shops and town centre quiet local . If you are coming by public transport it is at the top of a very steep hill which we found difficult to push a pram up and down .
- Elizabeth (7/5): Nice accommodation, no parking, could be improved - It was a good location if you want to be close to the centre.
Snagging issues with the accommodation which need to be addressed. Some parts left unfinished in places... bare plaster etc
Beds were super comfy though.
Main issue no parking and I don't think this was made clear enough in the listing
For me not a street I would want to stay on holiday, more a residential street. That is just my personal preference though and I except that is just my opinion.
The accommodation was nicely done but there are definitely areas for improvement Parking is non existent, I don't think this is highlighted enough in the listing
- John M (10/5): Time with granddaughters - Very clean premises, host good to deal with & excellent location All OK
- James (7/5): - Cleanliness was really good The accommondation needed a good paint job in certain places of the accommodation was paint peeled off the wall, also oven door was broken and wouldn't close.
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Location was good, very clean and spacious Parking can be difficult due to this being street parking.
- Johnny (8/5): Great location, however my disabled brother in law had great difficulty getting up the stairs and the house was also on - Location Steep flight of stairs.
- Emma (8/5): Very good - Location was great. Clean and comfortable. Nicely decorated. Beds clean and very comfortable. Overall great stay. Shower could have done to have been a little more powerful. Only had a part roll of one toilet paper when we arrived. Expected at least a spare roll, or a full one.
- Janine (10/5): Lovely stay at Sea Renity - Great location , not far to walk to the harbour at all. Good communication leading up to our arrival date.
Beds were really comfy , house very clean and tidy. Nicely decorated! We had a fab time and would definitely return. Thanks so much x
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - Nice big rooms ,comfy beds well located Probably the steep hill coming back ,parking.
- Hayley (9/5): Just what we needed. - Easy walking distance to Whitby.
Large dining room table to play games on.
- Jamie (10/5): Comfortable, spacious, relaxing - Very clean and extremely comfortable beds, location great Couldnt fault it
- Michaela (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely clean house, fantastic host, no fault at all Had to leave early 😪
- Lindsay (9/5): Excellent value for money - Lovely holiday home
Everything you need and more Location… didn’t enjoy the hill back up on an evening. Would be fine in the summer but not so in the colder months
- Rachel (8/5): Nice house in quiet area close to centre - Good location (very close to centre on quiet residential street). Plenty of space for 5 people. All rooms nice and clean. Wifi worked well in all rooms. Easy to check in with key box. House was cold on arrival (temp set to 9c), no basics like coffee, sugar, cooking oil, etc, and only 2 toilet paper rolls for 5 people staying 3 nights. Lots of plaster coming off the wall in the bathroom. Parking is difficult. Each day, we had to drive round for a long time and only ever found parking 3-5 streets away.
- Poppets (10/5): Exceptional - Had everything we needed. 1 bathroom but doable.
- David (9/5): Good place to stay - Clean, comfy Rug in front room moves on you as you get up from the settee!you have to be careful not to fall
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - Such a beautiful place to stay the bed was very comfortable I actually had an amazing sleep. The area was quite at night aswell. The owner sent us clear Instructions on everything like how to use all the appliances etc. The place was very clean I loved that as I can be very picky about cleaning standards 😂 honestly me and my partner just loved everything about it we were very sad when we had to leave and go home. Was definitely the best place we stayed for our first weekend away at goth weekend together thank you we can't wait to book again.
- Alison (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (8/5): Lovely clean property good facilities quite location - Location just out of town 10 minutes quiet area N/A
- Michelle (10/5): Perfect property to make memories in Whitby - Beautiful house with plenty of space and immaculate.
We were able to park on the road which was a great addition and a lovely central location.
Really good contact with the Host which made the trip so much easier. We will definitely be booking again.
- Benjamin (9/5): Superb - Clean, comfortable and convenient.
- Diane (8/5): Overall, the stay was lovely, location was good and the home was clean and tidy. - The property was well equipped and decorated nicely. The only issue we had was the stairs in the house being so steep but in all fairness that was my fault for not checking before I booked. The property could do with a lick of paint and re plastering in some areas. The outside back garden could do with sprucing up a little bit .
- Caroline (8/5): Very good - Joanne was quick to respond and all instructions were very clear and all wrapped up in an easy to use app. Fantastic location and the pictures do it justice tastefully decorated with lovely big rooms.I would definitely stay here again. The seagulls but that is to be expected
- Awilde22 (10/5): Amazing value - Fantastic house in a great location. Arrival instructions were very clear and the house was spotless. It's a 10 minute walk to the harbour and shops, with a supermarket the same distance. The was a huge bed in the main bedroom, with a double and single in the other two rooms. Nothing, it was perfect.
- Hayley (10/5): Exceptional - Everything you can't fault the place Lack of parking
- Marieek (9/5): Our stay was excellent, we were 10 mins walk to the town centre. The property had all want we needed to makes our stay p - Very clean and tidy and smelt really fresh, with good quality appliances. Location was great, parking on arrival was a challenge but we did manage to move our vehicle in the evening to nearby the location.
- Rebecca (9/5): Superb - A very well thought out house - everything we needed for a week away as a family of three, with a one year old. A little more power behind the water in the shower would have been amazing but it did the job and the water was always nice and warm 😊
- Marcin (10/5): Exceptional - It was a great stay here. Great location, 5 minute walk to the centre. Great host, very nice lady. Very nice and well equipped house.
- Vee (10/5): Perfect from start to finish .definitely be back - Beautiful house everything we needed location perfect . Really was perfect We loved every everything about it
- Beverley (10/5): Very good property, great location - Good location, well maintained and well equipped. Needs hanging space in two bedrooms
Would benefit with a downstairs toilet
No corkscrew 🤪
- Amy (9/5): Great location and beautiful home - Amazing location and the house is styled to perfection. Host was absolutely lovely and on hand whenever I had any questions. On street parking was also great! Property was brilliant, Whitby is very hilly and not very accessible overall, the house was up a steep hill, fine for us but worth bearing in mind if you’re not as able
- Ana (10/5): Thank you! I’ll definitely come back soon - I liked the house deco, the cleanliness, enough room for everyone, appliances and everything worked well, location is good. Everything was perfect
- Turner (10/5): A lovely stay in a beautiful town house just a short walk from town. - The property was beautifully decorated and lovely and clean. It was also only a short walk into Whitby town which was super convenient.
- Sabrina (9/5): Superb -
- Alison (10/5): Exceptional - The house was spotlessly clean and tidy. Everything we needed for our stay was available
Close to whitby Town just a few minute walk. Would certainly stay again and I have recommended to friends and family There was nothing not to like lovely place to stay
- Paul (9/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great house in great, quiet location with easy walk to all amenities in Whitby. Would be - Lovely lean and modern house with everything we needed Parking a little difficult but got a spot
- Tracey (9/5): Great stay, host contacted us to make sure all was ok. - Excellent position, walking distance to town, station and sea.
Clean with comfortable living and dining area, had everything we needed in the kitchen for our stay. We worked it out but didn’t see any info on how to work the heating but maybe we just missed it.
- Aackroyd (10/5): Very homely property with everything and more needed for a few days away. Ideally situated. - Gorgeous property and lovely decor. Could do with a little shoe rack near the door to keep it tidy
- Adam (9/5): Highly recommended, great spot, lovely house. - I would highly recommend a stay at Sea Renity. The property is immaculate, very well presented just as the photographs show. Plenty of room (more than expected) with everything needed for the stay provided. The furnishings were very comfortable and the bedding, towels etc all to a high standard. The location was perfect - the street was quiet but only a few minutes walk from the action making it perfect. Parking (free) was no problem in the same street, and I'm confident that if we couldn't have parked in the same (short) street, we would have found a spot in the surrounding ones. 10 out 10! That we had to leave.
- John (10/5): Loved it - Clean, comfortable and easily accessible The 2nd bedroom ceiling is really low but this can’t be changed, apart from this the water pressure on the shower is also quite weak
- Graeme (7/5): Good -
- Paul (10/5): Perfect little stay in Whitby - Location is perfect. 5 minute walk into Whitby. Property is so clean and modern. Beautifully decorated. Great heating system. Good TV options (Netflix, Disney etc). The whole place smelt great - bed linen, supplied shampoo, towels etc. Very comfortable and relaxing. And also (rare for a holiday let) the beds were so comfortable. We had an amazing weekend. No complaints about this at all. Very few negatives about this place. It was all good.
- Georgia (10/5): We all really enjoyed our stay - Clean & Modern
- Philip (10/5): Very comfortable stay in an excellent location. Will definitely be back. Thank you -
- Holly (10/5): Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to change our travel date to a date later. The property wasn’t free cancellation - Good location. Clean property and had everything we needed.
- David (10/5): Would highly recommend SeaRenity if you`re looking for a spacious, lovely, comfortable house. - Fantastic all round trip, lovely house and beautifully decorated. 10 min walk from town centre, Communication with Joanne was great from booking through to day of trip. Lovely facilities and beautiful decor. Minor gripe only. Parking difficult during the day but gets better later in the day. Joanne did warn about this so we were prepared.
- Mark (9/5): Stylish, homely property in an excellent location. - Very thoughtfully and tastefully decorated; attention to detail was excellent. A lot of thought had gone into the stylish feel of the property, throughout, with lovely touches in the home furnishings, such as the light fittings and soft furnishings. Having said this, certainly not at the expense of feeling homely. The location is excellent; it takes a few minutes to be down in the mix at the estuary.
- Clare (9/5): We had a lovely few days & the property was beautiful. - Ideal location just a short walk to town.
The inside of the property was vey comfortable & had everything you needed. Ceilings in top 2 bedrooms very low in parts so need to mind your head, it wouldn’t stop us staying again.
- Tamara (9/5): Perfect stay judt need to focus on small things. Would reccommend and stay again. - Easy to check in, spacious, clean and lovely rooms, great host. Paintwork needed a touch up. Out of date milk left. Unsteady toilet roll holder, only two toilet rolls left for 5 people for two nights.
- Cathy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dennis (9/5): An extremely enjoyable short stay in a wonderful property that has a very thoughtful owner. - The house was very tastefully decorated, comfortable and the owner had forgotten nothing, to make this an extremely pleasant and enjoyable short break. Parking, at this time of year, outside the property is no problem. The area is also very quiet, so there was no noise at any time and an added bonus is that within a short five minute walk there is a lovely small and very friendly, local pub, across the road from one of the best Chippies in Whitby. Whitby is made up of hills and there is no avoiding this, however we new this before we went to stay.
- Bob (10/5): Lovely property Whitby was lovely also will definitely return - Lovely property very modern comfortable and clean Nothing but the parking could be an issue
- Carol_b (9/5): Beautiful, clean house in Whitby - handy for the station, harbour and shops - The house was beautifully decorated and very clean, with new carpets on the stairs and in the bedrooms. The bathroom was spacious and bright, the beds were comfortable, and bedrooms had plenty of space to move around. The kitchen was fairly small but was well-equipped for our weekend stay. The heating was easy to operate, although we didn't really need it much as it was a mild weekend in mid-September. It was very handy to walk from the property into Whitby, down past the hospital and you are at the Co-op, station and harbour within about 5 minutes. Parking nearby could be tricky (Friday night was a bit of a challenge), but it is free, and when we found a place on the street we left the car there and walked round the town. There is also space at the nearby station (not sure what the charges are). My Mum found the low-back sofa a bit uncomfortable as she has a more traditional, supportive sofa at home, but for a weekend it was fine. There was a very strong smell of fish when we arrived, which was the result of the previous resident grilling something and then using the sink, so they both smelt very strong. However we used the air fresheners and opened the windows to get rid of the odour, so after a day or so it was much better.
- Gavin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karen (6/5): Good stay in a handy location - Good location Back yard was very untidy with a disused toilet.
Kitchen very small
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - The house was perfect for our family break.. spotlessly clean and in a great location The only downside to our break was that the street parking was difficult and had to park a short walk away
- Sarah (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sea Renity, comfortable, well planned very welcoming. - Very comfortable, lovely decor and furnishings. just a short 10 minute walk into Whitby. Beds were large and very comfy, rooms spacious. Nice to have milk in the fridge and biscuits on arrival. Managed to park directly outside with no issues.
- Sarah (8/5): Clean, comfortable and within easy access to amenities - The house was clean and stylish. It’s location was excellent. Parking was difficult
- Anonymous (10/5): A very comfortable and enjoyable stay. - Really lovely accommodation. It is very modern and clean. Lovely small touches such as tea, coffee, milk and biscuits left upon arrival. Great location and great that we were able to get parked up just outside. Only a couple of minute walk into the centre of Whitby. Great communication from the owner. Would definitely consider if visiting the area again. Nothing to complain about.
- Annmarie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Enjoyed every minute would return - House rental. Short walk to shops and beach. Good location. All Good
- Peter (10/5): Lovely accommodation in a great location. Very comfortable with all needs met for our stay. - Good location, within 5 mins walk to the main areas.
The welcome milk and biscuits were well received. Thanks. Parking near the property can be very difficult, however the near by long stay car park is reasonable at £9 for 24 hours.
- Geraldine (7/5): Nice place, a bit of a steep walk to it from the centre. - The cottage was very clean. The beds were very comfortable. Nice touch with the biscuits.
NB: when heading down to the centre, there are steps which make it a softer journey. The shower was over the bath but there wasn’t any handle rails to get in the bath or out, this made it quite difficult. The bath was slippy when wet, it could do with having a bath mat. Also, because the shower is a rain shower attached, made it quite hard to get a shower without getting your hair wet.
- Vivien (1/5): I did not stay and lost £270 - I did not stay at the property as the host emailed and said the dates were unavailable but she took my money anyway and refused to refund because she had sorted the issue and it was now available in the meantime we had booked somewhere else
- Debra (10/5): Perfect accommodation - The house was immaculate and had everything that you could need
Lovely decor
Spotlessly clean Parking is hard
- Maria (9/5): Grate location. Very clean and lovely owner - Its in a fab location. Very clean and lovely big bathroom The two attic room are a bit small and we did bang are heads a few time we are all over 5’8 so maybe if you are a bit smaller it would not be a problem
- Eleanor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanne (9/5): perfect house :) - Great location, beautiful house, nice touch leaving fresh milk, tea and coffee :) n/a
- Sophie (10/5): Clean, comfortable, close to the centre. - It was very clean. So comfy, felt like such a cosy and warm space. The interior design was really great. The master bed was huge. The other bedrooms were decent sized and comfortable. Nice dressing table spaces in each room. Very good bathroom facilities. A short walk down the hill to Whitby centre. The only TINY thing I could mention is the parking isn’t ideal. We had to park a few streets away, we parked outside ‘The First in Last Out’ pub, which was only a 3 min walk so not a problem for us at all. But if you want to park directly outside the house you might struggle.
- Andrea (9/5): Superb - Lovely fresh and new, great location, great facilities for a family
- Pauline (10/5): Very well equipped house. Great location within walking distance of all amenities - N/a
- Marcus (10/5): Great stay, great property, great owners - All finished to a high standard, you could tell it was new and all the equipment in the property was great. Shame there is no parking space but not too hard to find a space in the nearby roads.
- Barbara (10/5): Can’t wait to return. - Beautiful modern and spotless!!! Only five minutes to the harbour downhill, perhaps a bit longer uphill!!!! Ab loved it. Nothing!!!
- Marie (10/5): Exceptional - We had a fantastic stay, Sea Renity is a beautiful home from home, everything you need from a great self-catering holiday. Comfy beds, lovely bathroom and only a short walk to the centre of town where you can find everything you need.
- Beverley (8/5): lovely 😊 - roomy and we’ll equipped no guarantee of parking
door to under house not secure and my 5 year old was straight in!
- Kerry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rachel (10/5): Absolutely fantastic, beautiful property and would highly recommend. - Easy and instructions were fantastic.
- Jacqueline (10/5): Exceptional - Stylish welcoming spotless property.
Perfect for short stay.
- Hannah (8/5): perfect for group of friends on a weekend break - the decor, the beds, the internal space, free parking, only short walk to centre of Whitby. could easily have stayed longer. it was cold when arrived and took a couple of hours to warm up. suggestion would be to add a couple of throws to lounge area.
- Stephen (8/5): A great place, pity about the cleaners. - It was like home from home. Comfortable and well equipped. Location was ideal, plus we were able to park right out front. It's a pity to say this as the house was lovely....when we 1st entered the house it smelled really strongly of bacon, from the previous guests, cleaners should have opened windows to expel this when they were there. They also missed the back bags of garbage that were piled in the back garden, previous guests clearly couldn't have been bothered to take them to the bins. But the worst thing was that a sex toy and lube bottle was also left in the bedroom drawers! Definitely not ideal!
Hopefully, the host uses different cleaners now.
- Steve (10/5): great communication from day of booking to date of stay with the host , absolutely fantastic , spotless clean throughout - fully refurbished , excellent choice of furniture and fitting, very nice , warm and cosy. if we had to be really picky , and it certainly wouldn’t stop us from booking again when in the area , is that we felt 1 bathroom/ toilet between 5 guests was a rota early morning…
struggled for parking , very limited on street parking, but same as above, wouldn’t stop us from re booking 👍
- Vickers (10/5): excellent lovely house will definitely stay again - beautiful modern clean comfortable had everything we needed great location I couldn’t find fault
- Tom (8/5): Very good -
