Guest Reviews
- Deborah (8/5): Would visit Marsden again.... - Right by the river. In centre of village. 2 mins to the co-op. Dishwasher handy. Lovely little village. Outdoor terrace Lovely and a sun-trap! Oven difficult to work. No oven / baking trays to cook with. TV signal very poor. Odd quantity of crockery (only 2 small bowls, little amount of cutlery but 13 mugs!). Tried to contact Hannah but no response.
- Woods (9/5): We loved it and will definitely be back - Really nice apartment with everything you need! In a lovely area too and the Italian restaurant next door is really good too! There’s nothing I did not like
- Isabelle (9/5): -
- Nicola (8/5): Lovely place, nice spot, would go again - Very nice place, great location, comfy and clean We should have booked the larger apartment

- Peter (10/5): Fabulous cosy and spotless - Everything. It had everything to make our stay comfortable.
I will definitely recommend to everyone Nothing
- Peter (6/5): Cosy Cottage but we never slept due to terrible mattresses - Nice wood burner. Everything was explained clearly in a folder left for the guests. This cottage is close to all the local amenities. Its warm and cosy. Nice clean cottage and close to Huddersfield. Space is at a premium. Cottage is very small and bed mattresses are very soft and extremely uncomfortable. Reception and kitchen are very small and cooking there is very difficult, all because of the space. Beds were a major issue, never slept so badly had to seep on the sofa. Rug in sitting room needs replacement it looks so dirty and terrible. Floors were very cold. Not everything in the kitchen cupboards were properly clean and the oven as dirty.
- Neill (8/5): - The house is located very close to the centre with a very short walk to the pubs, cafes, shops in Marsden.
The house was very clean and comfortable with a lovely log burner too. Although the shower room is excellent and was very clean and the showers very hot and powerful. There is only one toilet in the house.
- Marianne (9/5): Spacious, well equipped and in a great location -
- Marianne (9/5): Spacious, well equipped and very comfortable apartment in a great location. - Great location. Well equipped, spacious with great en-suites.
Host answered questions promptly.
- VEEP1 (10/5): - Great place & location.
- Searle (8/5): Really lovely place, we’d definitely stay again. - Good standard of decor and equipment. Handy location for what we needed and pet friendly which was great. Little Italian Kiosk at the gate does lovely coffee and tasty food. The bed in the room with the bath was very soft which didn’t provide much support.
- jennifer (9/5): - Perfect location
- Jemma (10/5): Never want to leave! - Lovely little house, everything we need. Location is ideal and we’re always made to feel welcome by Mark and Lesley, they always stop to chat. Hannah always sends a check in message too! This is our fifth visit to Huddersfield in just over 1 year and coming back again soon!!
- Jackson (10/5): -
- Sharon (9/5): - Good location, well furnished No suggestions
- Mel (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely perfect for us Nothing
- Malcolm (8/5): Perfect location. - Location. The door locks were very troublesome at Pule Hill. The mirror cabinet over the ensuite basin renders said basin pretty much unusable.
- Harrison (10/5): Lovely Stay - Lovely apartment. Lovely village.
- Sarah (9/5): Superb -
- Geoff (10/5): Exceptional -
- Giorgia (8/5): Very good -
- Janet (7/5): Good - It was lovely to find Christmas treats waiting for us in the kitchen. Single room - a headboard would have made it more comfortable for someone who reads in bed morning and night. And a single rather than a double duvet, and an opening window, would have been better.
Bathroom - no toilet roll holder, and the towel ring fell off the wall the first time we used it.
Information about heating, bins etc would have been useful. We only found the thermostat after a very hot night.
- Jackson (5/5): Although the house is beautiful I don't think we would stay there again . - Location very good very close to all amenities Drafts coming in through the front door needs a new seal also drafts coming through the window's. Plus the gate at the side of the house that has a cafe at the side kept banging everytime someone went either in or out of it.
- Omari (10/5): brilliant stay - everything nothing
- Oliver (8/5): Very good -
- Keedee77 (10/5): Great spot for exploring Western Huddersfield and the Peak National Park. - There are 3 apartments here I believe. Ours had a good view of the Town. Very clean rooms, modern.
Milk, tea and coffee was available. Easy to use heating, great shower. Comfy beds. Excellent location near to all amenities. Across the road from one of the best pubs in Huddersfield that makes their own beers, lagers and stout.
Highly recommend. Couldn't fault it,,
- Judith (7/5): nice place - superb location. water pressure was phenomenal. best shower ever! the bed was terribly uncomfortable.
- Liz (8/5): Great return visit - We are regulars at Swan House! We stayed in the canal view flat. It’s perfect for the three of us. Great location in the middle of the village. A new Italian open air cafe has opened in the courtyard which is very handy for coffee!
- Tina (10/5): Wow as soon as we opened the door. Lovely spacious apartment. Everything that was needed was there. TV, games, books P - Perfect. Lovely details. Everything was there that was needed
- Nick (10/5): Comfortable and in a very good location for all town pubs, shops and cafes. -
- Christie (8/5): Great location for early risers wanting to walk the hills. - The property is across the road from a pleasant tumbling brook. The village centre is fifty metres away and everything is open at 10am. Lots of cafes. On Pennine Way so hills and walking two hundred metres in any direction. No outside space as café next door uses rear of property for seating area. Front door opens on to road that’s a main bus route.
- Keenan (10/5): Exceptional - Really good facilities. Everything needed to make it comfy and chilled time. In a great central location
- Stallard (10/5): Great stay! - Lovely modern accommodation in a great position, mark who takes care of the property was very friendly and helpful, highly recommend. Can't fault the property.
- Sarah (3/5): Poor - Location was fabulous. Bathroom was nice House was not clean. Cob webs everywhere, Bedding left a lot to be desired. We left a day early as we didn't want to stay there due to it feeling unclean
- Deborah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (10/5): Perfect - Perfect accommodation. It was all good
