- Hajime (4/5): - お店が位置している場所は、悪くない。ただ、ダウンタウンに面している為、うるさい。海外では、耳栓は必須なのでその辺りは我慢できる範囲かと。 ただ、エレベーターがチェックイン時に渡されるチップで起動するので、最初は階段で上に上がる必要がある。 また早い便で着いたので、チェックインをしようとするとアリーチェックイン代を請求(15ドル=約3,000円)、私が渋っていると、10ドルまで減額。。君にはその価値はないのかと。宿泊代と同じくらいの請求するとは。今思えば、エジプシャンの強欲な性格はこの頃から垣間見れていた。 結局は、トイレを借りて荷物を置いて、すぐさま外へ。 朝食も部屋食になり、電話してから30分程度かかる。 バスタオルも言わないと、もらえない。三人ぐらいのスタッフに言って、やっともらえた。 二度目はあるかと聞かれると、ない。 断言する。

- Bimal (8/5): Can’t complain for the price - It is a good stay for the price. Location is very central and it’s noisy until 2-3am. Avoid the smallest room if you can, it’s very tiny. The staff try their best to accommodate you. On your first visit you may need to climb 6 floors since the lifts need a key fob. The breakfast is very good.

They could have email me and said they don’t have 2 triple rooms on same floor then maybe I wouldn’t book this hotel. They just kept emailing me and saying yes will be done . False hope they gave me. Not very reliable receptionist and didn’t care about customer needs.

- Rayhana (6/5): - after reading positive reviews for travelling alone with accompanying young female I was disappointed in the fact the services provided was poor. After exhausting journey to reach the hotel with the help of kind iber driver we were met with a room not yet set up for guest. No towels no toiletries. After three to four call to reception each time giving me a time to deliver the requested items they didn’t deliver. This delayed in settling in for the evening and led to missing dinner as it was too late to pick up food. The dispointing to this was also the fact the manager of the hotel who booked us in yet he didn’t have the courtesy to acknowledge and apologise for the lack of seamless service. To add to it all we were given wrong set of keys to the room which meant we weren't’ able to lock our room for safety. Calling agin to resolve this took more time and consumed all our already burned out selves

Breakfast is included and delivered to your room, but I had to wait an hour. I think it's a great service if you have time to spare. The staff were friendly.

- Carlos (8/5): Estadia no Cairo - A estadia foi, no geral, muito boa. No início tive um problema com o quarto reservado, mas a equipe foi ágil em resolver a situação e me acomodou em outro quarto. Na segunda parte da minha estadia, fui colocado em um quarto excelente, o que compensou a primeira impressão. Os quartos são confortáveis e bem cuidados, e o atendimento foi sempre rápido e atencioso. Um destaque positivo foi o café da manhã antecipado, providenciado especialmente porque sairíamos cedo. Se não fosse pela confusão inicial com o quarto, minha avaliação seria 5 estrelas.
- Mohamed (2/5): - I reserved a queen bed with city view when I got there they didn’t have the room I paid for and they checked me in a 3 single bed on the side with no city view or the balcony I paid for in advance, they kept manipulating trying to convince me to get that room , I didn’t get the room and I end up leaving back to my house, when I got home I received an email saying that I was checked in even though I never checked in and they did charge me for the original room I received which It was more expensive that what they tried to offer me, they are just a bunch of scammers!

- Wayne (10/5): Great place! - When our taxi driver couldn't find the exact location of the hotel two of the front service staff were already looking for us on the street. The whole time we were there we received amazing customer service! Breakfast was the best we had in Egypt. Great location, can be a bit noisy at night but that's normal for Cairo.

- Jason (2/5): - The property itself was good, but the staff was atrocious. It started off with checking in and being treated different than others being checked in. It became worse the longer we stayed one night while taking a shower. They decided to turn off the water. Then when we called to see what was going on the front desk guy whose name starts with a a said oh OK I will go turn it back on then when we ordered breakfast, they brought half of it and I had to complete. Despite us telling them we wanted room service every other day at a specific time they insisted on calling us every morning, knowing that we were up all night because of Ramadan to ask if we wanted room service. And when we had to check out because of the treatment from the staff they added insult to injury by telling us they were going to refund the unused nights as a way of saying sorry which happened to be an additional nine nights we never got the money back. We also reached out for help from Expedia and they did not help.

They assigned me a friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable guide, Nasser. The hotel is very clean and quiet and is situated in a very safe area with plentiful restaurants, cafes, eateries, and an ATM just across from the hotel.
- Kannan (8/5): - We had booked a quad room (with four beds) for our family of four well in advance—three months before our stay—but unfortunately, our experience upon arrival fell far short of expectations. We were informed that the quad room was unavailable and were offered a triple room and a single room instead. While the triple room was acceptable, the single room was a smoking room, and the smell was overwhelming and unfit for us to stay in. We declined the single room and had to manage with just the triple room, but the hotel was unwilling to provide a rollaway bed or even an extra blanket for our family. To add to the frustration, we were still charged the quad room rate despite not receiving what we had paid for—a non-smoking quad room for our entire family. On the second night, the hotel finally moved us to a quad room, but the inconvenience and discomfort of the first night were unacceptable. For a reservation made months in advance, we expected better communication, preparation, and care from the hotel.

- JAVIER (8/5): - Nuestra estancia fue buena en general. Contratamos al hotel la recogida desde el aeropuerto, el chico que nos recogió llego una media hora después de la llegada de nuestro vuelo, y ademas nos llevo al hotel equivocado, eso si fue muy amable y luego de su error se ofreció a llevarnos al hotel correcto. Al llegar al hotel nos fue un poco difícil identificarlo por la falta de señalización adecuada, solo un pequeño poster con el nombre del hotel en el frente del edificio. La entrada del hotel tristemente esta muy sucia, para acceder al elevador se debe subir una pequeña escalera que igualmente pertenece sucia. Los elevadores del hotel son pequeños y a menudo dejaban de funcionar. La habitación era de tamaño normal pero bien equipada. El baño pequeño pero nuevo. El desayuno estaba incluido y lo llevaban cada mañana a la habitación cuando se solicitaba a la recepción. El desayuno comprendía pan, huevo hervido, verduras y yogurt. Lo mejor del hotel es su staff siempre dispuestos y atentos a resolver cualquier inquietud. En una ocasión me quede sin cambio para pagar un taxi y fueron muy amables al prestarme el dinero, que al siguiente día les repuse. El area alrededor del hotel esta llena de restaurantes y mercados locales. Creo que es un hotel para alguien familiarizado con la cultura del país, el entorno alrededor del hotel puede ser estresante para el visitante.
- sharon (2/5): - I saw they great reviews and decided to book this hotel. When i got there it was more run down than in the pictures. The evelvator is sketch and scary, cats run in and out of the hotel. It sounded by many stores but i did not feel safe in the area. The rooms are small and cold despite having a heater. I checked out within 4 hours of staying there. The owner had agreed to refund me and now when expedia contacted him, now he refuses to answer his phone. And i paid for 8 days in a hotel that i spent 4hrs in. Go anywhere but here, spend more money and get what you paid for.

The location is great, the breakfast is delicious, the rooms are clean and the beds are amazingly comfortable. As a solo female traveller especially, I felt so safe here. It was all perfect. I’ll definitely be staying here whenever I’m in Cairo. 10/10!

Rooms are all new and super clean, great soundproof doors on the balconies, since the plaza is very busy and loud, the bed was Fantastic and comfortable. Quick to respond to requests and always with a smile. Would definitely stay there again as it’s quite central to a lot of the monuments to visit, away from the pyramids. Breakfast was served in your room but could be a bit more generous with the portions of fool and falafel :) Thank you everyone at Sama and keep up the great work!
- Malalay (10/5): Thumbs up👍 - It’s nice place in the middle of everything, very convenient to do shopping many restaurants and cafes,the only thing could be disturbing if you are an early sleeper it is a bit noisy at nigh and the door to the balcony doesn’t have good insulation. Some suggestions: It will be great if they have a hairdryer and extra roll of toilet paper inside the room and they definitely need a sign for the the guests to guide them where they can reach the reception When entering the building there is no sign that the hotel is on the sixth floor, you will be wondering how to find the hotel where.

At first i was reluctant to book but than after reading reviews i took the risk and my experience was excelent . its a most clean hotel and fully renovated lovely breakfast no need to take taxi for museum. walk to tons of restaurants and sweet shopes . the hotel entrance is full of nite life restaurant open late. i will revommend to all family and couples .

- Neil (10/5): Great Budget Hotel in Downtown - This is a great budget hotel in downtown Cairo. Staff is incredibly friendly. Best part of the hotel for sure. It is on the 5th and 6th floor of a building so intially you need to climb some stairs. The elevator does work but you need a fob for it. Rooms are nicely renovated too. If you’re traveling solo or on a budget this is a great hotel.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. We had an issue with our room being a smoking room the first night, but they corrected the issue and were apologetic. The area is fantastic and it's a very fun walk to Tahrir Square. Very central with a lot of activity around the hotel. The elevator and stairs up to the 6th floor are old, sketchy and not taken care of, but 1) do not reflect the hotel and 2) are safe and do the job. We're so glad we moved downtown from Giza to get a different picture of day to day Egyptian life. Sama Hotel is highly recommended.

- Verified traveler (8/5): Cairo December 2024 - This place will fool you from the outside. The area in general is historic. The rooms are clean and pretty updated. Very nice people. The price is affordable I liked it overall.
- Viswesh (10/5): - This is a nice affordable hotel located in the heart of downtown, close to Tahrir Square. While the exterior of the hotel appears old and worn, the rooms are newly furnished and quite appealing. The rooms themselves are spacious, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast is served each morning, featuring delicious Egyptian cuisine. The hotel is conveniently located, with easy access to the city, and the Egyptian Museum is just a short walk away. The staff, especially Ali and Karim, were excellent and extremely helpful. However, I recommend not booking any tours through the hotel, as they are overpriced and the guides seem rushed. For a better experience, consider booking through platforms like Viator or Expedia. I do not want to reduce any stars for this as it is optional and I just took a tour from them.

- omar (4/5): - I have been a guest at Sama’s multiple times and I always enjoyed it. However this time it was not a good experience. The day of booking they contacted me telling me that they messed up and that they can’t accommodate the two rooms I reserved weeks in advance. They told me I had to go to their “sister” hotel that is close by. They assured me that it is exactly the same in terms of cleanliness and level of service. Unfortunately that is not true. The furniture of the rooms were much older, the bathrooms were much smaller and the room didn’t even have a phone to talk to reception! This is very disappointing. I considered Sama to be my go to place when I come to Cairo but now I am reconsidering.
