- Aurelia (1/5): Worst booking ever. - This was the worst booking ever. Arriving at property was nerve racking as last 2 km.of road was very narrow in high mountain. But the worst part was the smell of sewage as we opened the door. It was very intense and was difficult to even take a breath. This was a health risk as chemicals from sewage are harmful. I contacted the owner immediately but got no answer and left a message and sent a message via Booking.com and he never called me back. You would think he or she would attempt to come to our aide in some form. But heard absolute nothing from them except their property manager who understood and said it happens sometimes when there is rainfall and it had rained for a few days and suggested we contact Booking.com to get a refund. I paid 1 month in advance looking forward to a great vacation and not expecting anything to go wrong. The owner through Booking.com refused to give us a refund and Booking.com wasn't much help either. The owner told them that the property was clean. I never said it was dirty - I actually was repulsed from the smell and didn't even inspect the house after walking in. It probably was clean but that wasn't the issue. We locked up and left right away! There must be a policy that money must be refunded in cases where the property cannot be occupied especially given health risk such as was the case here. This was our situation. We couldn't stay. But not the owner nor Booking.com refunded us. It ruined our holiday.
