- paula (5/5): - bed was comfy. mix up with keys / rooms. Glass in door limited privacy. Broken fixtures (door) in common areas.
- Michael (2/5): - Good location in the heart of Wonthaggi. Rooms were not made up when we arrived. Had to wait a few hours to check in properly, after the stated check in time.
One of the seemingly permanent residents made us feel uncomfortable.
- Graham (7/5): - The bed was big and comfy. Wifi was very good. The 15% discount on meals downstairs in the hotel was a nice surprise The bathrooms were pretty old and not cleaned daily.
The door to our room was very difficult to close. There were no lights in the communal dining and kitchen area making it very difficult to make coffee etc at night.

- Natalia (10/5): Great time in a new place. Above+Beyond expectation. Highly recommend if looking for a chill time ⭐ - Great location, excellent staff (special mention to Nic the manager who is ån extraordinary human - highly accommodating, genuine and professional - had lost/left several belongings behind which were not only located but also returned back via post c/o Nic.)
Welcoming venue with good people and an enjoyable vibe.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The closing time for a Saturday night was oddly early.
And myself and my friend were told there was nothing else open in the town. 😒🤷
- Glenn (8/5): - Prices around and on Phillip Island were crazy so was very happy to find a bed for the price.
- Veronica (3/5): Would not stay there again - The price was good and location where I needed to be Not clean. Bathroom left in unusable state. Had to ask for Batman’s extra towels, toilet paper not restocked, one of the toilets had no paper. No mirrors at a realistic height to be able to apply my make up. coffee station, there was coffee and milk but no sugar, The water machine had no water in it and had not been filled. Whoever was in charge of stocking supplied had had neglected to do their job on a weekend

- Andrea (8/5): The hotel staff were lovely. Dakota and her sister were so friendly. We also enjoyed our meal - It was very central for our travel itinerary Shared bathroom and shower. Only two toilets and one shower, this was explained to us when we arrived

- Riccardo (8/5): - Top Preis-Leistungsverhaeltnis, nettes Personal und gutes Essen im Pub (fue das man auch noch einene Rabatt als Kunde bekommt)

- Joanne (5/5): If you’re in need of a cheap bed for the night, this place is perfect. No luxuries. - It was cheap Nowhere to access clean drinking water, the water cooler was empty and the bottles empty. The taps in the bathroom were only hot so had nowhere to get drinking water.
Cleanliness of bathroom was poor.
- Swampymarsh3074 (3/5): You get what you pay for - Good location ,bed not too bad for comfort ,room was tidy.Staff were friendly. Bathrooms were disgusting, shared tea/coffee facilities quite average .The rear of property where you enter rear entrance was like a tip.

- Rob (7/5): - No breakfast. Clean room. Comfy bed had a good sleep. Could do with a mirror A mirror and maybe a little bar fridge
- Maxine (7/5): The accomodation was basic, but it was perfect for what we needed. I'd happily stay there again. - The shower was amazing! The bed was comfortable, the room was very clean and we'll presented. Ben, the member of staff looking after us was totally awesome, very welcoming, helpful and cheerful. The room was very cold, however, a heater was supplied. There was no TV. So not much to complain about for the money.
- Daniel (5/5): You get what you pay for. -

- Benita (9/5): Cute little pub! - Perfect location.
Cute little pub, old style shared bathrooms and lounge room. They forgot to leave towels and I didn't notice until I woke in the morning. It was too early to ask anyone so I just improvised 🤣

- Belinda (8/5): We had a great stay at the Cally and would definitely stay again. The staff are amazing! - The staff were absolutely amazing.
So friendly and accommodating.
The bed was super comfy too!
Great location, central to town. The room was super clean and tidy - the bathrooms and toilet could be a little cleaner.
- Robyn (9/5): Great value, will happily stay again. - Comfortable, affordable and great location. Very friendly and helpful owner/manager. Nothing
- VICKY (5/5): No comment - No comment No comment
- Michelle (8/5): Good stay for short term. - The pricing and location worked well for us going to a major sports event. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had dinner there two consecutive evenings and were impressed both times.
The lounge area had free tea/ coffee facilities. The shared bathroom facilities needs to be cleaned better. The handbasin had dead bugs in it.

- Azad (8/5): Good experience considering the price; we’d be happy to stay again. - Nice local hotel, it was as expected nothing fancy and no major issue. they were informative about the noise from the pub before we get there and flexible with the cancelation policy. Good experience considering the price; we’d be happy to stay again.
- Jan Michael (8/5): - Rooms on top of the pub in the ground floor in the centre of Wonthaggi. Very friendly staff, inexpensive prices. The rooms are simple but clean, and the beds have good mattresses. There is a common are where you can hang around or have dinner if you bring your own food. There is also tea, instant coffee and milk for breakfast. The toilet and shower block is clean but relatively distant from some of the rooms. The building is not soundproof, but fortunately it was a quiet night.
- Anmol (10/5): -
- Emmanuel (4/5): - Staff was good Place was cold. Amenities were a long way away
- Todd (4/5): -
- Tuan (1/5): Everything else is good, except the extremely loud music. It is not worth it! - The price is affordable, the facilities are generally good. The staff is very nice and helpful. The music is unbearable... We stayed there for two nights on the long weekend, and the parties on the ground floor were on until 1pm. The whole room was shaking because of the extremely loud music.
- Chelsie (8/5): Perfect for just a nights stay during a festival in Inverloch - It was neat and clean , easy access and super friendly staff at the pub.
- Annie (9/5): Superb - very welcoming hosts, especially Rosey.
it was quite
- Kitkat (6/5): Pleasant -
- Errol (6/5): Had a great stay just a bit bored after dinner when there’s not much to do. - The location was great and the hotel was nice downstairs. It would have been nice to have a TV in the room to be able to watch something.
- Murtaza (1/5): Bad -
- Gayle (10/5): Very very happy - The young lady that showed us to our room was an absolute delight. She was so friendly and very helpful. I would have liked some type of instant boiling water for tea and coffee. Not a kettle
- Prem (2/5): Very poor - Friendly staff There was a male strip show on the dance floor. This was not mentioned anywhere in the ad. Also this went on past midnight. It was very noisy and we could not sleep. Would have been better if we were notified in advance. This is not a place for family to stay overnight.
- Trisha (2/5): Good room, bad service. - The rooms were comfortable with warm, decently clean showers. Check-in was smooth with decent space to park the car. We were quite disappointed with our recent stay. Upon arrival, we were only informed on the day that there would be loud music going past midnight due to the pub’s usual weekend schedule. This crucial detail was not clearly communicated during the booking process, and being told at the last minute left us with no alternative.
In the evening, we planned to have a quick, quiet meal but were instead met with snarky comments, forced smiles, and no real explanation of what was happening. Through overheard conversations, we learned there was a planned event that night — something we should have been informed about in advance.
To make matters worse, the event included male strippers and extremely loud music that went beyond just a bit of noise — the floors and walls were literally shaking. It was far from the relaxing evening we had hoped for, and the lack of transparency and courtesy made the experience even more disappointing.
Would not recommend if you're looking for a peaceful stay or clear communication.

Stairs was too much!
- Jill (8/5): Very good - Great location. Comfortable beds
- Jodie (6/5): Could have stayed at a motel for similar money and had the privacy of my own bathroom, especially being a solo older fem - It is more a pub stay, especially with shared bathroom and toilet.
- Jacqueline (8/5): A good place to stay for a night or two. - Proximity to transport. Bus stop was close by and the hotel was in the main street, close to shops etc. The bed was comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. There were a couple of things that went wrong, and the manager was very helpful and really great. It was good value for the price.
- Mccormack (8/5): Very good - More air flow in the rooms would be good - can they put in more vents??? (we appreciate it is an old building)
- Rob (8/5): Very good - Right above the pub. Excellent meals and drinks
- Ash (7/5): Good -
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional -
- Catherine (7/5): Good - Bed very comfortable Outside noise
- Mutsumi (8/5): Very good -
- Mikaela (10/5): Had a wonderful stay thank you - The staff were exceptional and very friendly and the location was nice and central to everything
- Dave (4/5): Avoid weekend stays - very loud - Good location, comfortable bed and nice staff. Karaoke and band until 12:30am very loud downstairs on a Friday night, there were unoccupied rooms further away from where you could hear. No warning from staff this was on.
No amenities in room such as Tv, or windows, or mirror, or a blind over the glass pane in the room door - which was very bright at night.
Toilets a bit of a trek away from our room.
Definitely avoid on Friday nights
- Sophie (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were fantastic! Would definitely stay again :)
- Tony (7/5): Good -
- Rod (7/5): Good - Staff....old world style accommodation.....location. Window didn't stay open. Would have been good for a small fridge in room as there is room.

- Natasha (10/5): Exceptional -
