Guest Reviews
- Alex (8/5): -
- Joris (10/5): Desconexion y descando Total - Las comida, desayuno, almuerzo y cena 10 Puntos.

- Yan (10/5): A beautiful place that we wish to stay longer. - The hotel is situated at a very peaceful and beautiful location. There are mountains and a river surrounded the hotel. The gardens, swimming pool and facilities are stunning. There are 6 alpacas wondering at the hotel which is lovely to engage with them. The food is good at the restaurant as we had two dinners at the hotel. Staff are very friendly and professional. Gery toured us around the hotel and patiently helped us whenever we seek his assistance. Lisbeth is very lovely who helped us along the way. It is a resort that we would love to return to… Staff, facilities, gardens, food and alpacas:)
- Daniel (10/5): Bonito hotel.
- Jose luis (9/5): -
- Marina (5/5): Lovely view but would pay money for better service elsewhere. - we loved the location, alpacas in the backyard. The breakfast could be so much better. Stale bread, not much variety of foods, cheese starting to look old from being out so long. Not a 5 star service for food selection and variety. Disappointing that you have to pay for extras that should be complimentary for a 5 star hotel eg: the spa.
- Henrik (10/5): -
- Paolo (7/5): - the garden and the hotel is nice the quality of the restaurant is very low, We asked to postpone the check out of 2 hours because we’re waiting for our transfer to the airport they asked us 70 US dollars that honestly it looks not nice and very expensive considering that we payed the room 163 Usd
- Anna (10/5): Excellent! - Overall, we loved the Taypikala but two things really stood out for us:
- the rooms and common areas are spotlessly clean. Huge thanks to the housekeeping and cleaning teams who we saw working tirelessly to keep everything in good nick;
- Gabel, who was working on Reception and went above and beyond to help us when our son was ill. Exceptional service - thank you! At the start of our visit we asked for some help organising an excursion and the price proposed by the hotel was much much higher than if we arranged independently. I understand there will be some mark up but it should be within reason.
- Marc (10/5): -
- José Manuel (8/5): - Cercanía a tren Machupicchu. Piscina.
- Vanessa (10/5): Family trip - Location was in a beautiful area with great views. The staff was very friendly and helful. The food for breakfast and dinner was very good. It was not walking distance from anything.
- Henrik (10/5): Great value for money - Great property and staff, well located for day trips in the sacred valley, good choice at breakfast and dinner, staff is very helpful in arranging transportation and planning trips
- Josenag (9/5): - Beautiful location, well kept facilities, comfortable and spacious room, most of the staff was quite friendly and helpful. Although we arrived many hours before regular check-in time, and the hotel was not totally occupied, the hotel staff did not offer us a payed early check-in option.
Some power outlets did not work proerly, and the hair dryer was in poor condition.
- LUIGINO GIUSEPPE (10/5): -
- Maria (9/5): Great place to stay, relaxing and with very thoughtful staff. - Surrounding grounds, by the river. Great decoration. Spacious rooms. Very helpful staff (Frank, Liz, Eloy). Nice spa. Good restaurant. Breakfast was great, a huge variety of options and different meal-type dishes every day. The problem was that most things that should be hot (e.g. meats, pasta, veggies, soup, even coffee) were like warm. Restaurant area was not heated enough. One more thing, a five star hotel should not just place one paper napkin per guest on the table during breakfast. And there should be a mirror in the room (not just one in the bathroom).
- Ivonne (8/5): Very good - Great massage!! Good restaurant, but definitely not a 5 star property. Some of the front desk staff. I forgot the name of the guy that checked us in, but he was frustrating and we speak fluent Spanish.
Spa facilities were not great. Sauna was broken. Heated pool was barely warm.
No soap, shampoo, conditioner in spa showers. Not a 5 star experience.
- Donna (5/5): Wouldn’t stay here again - It was a pretty setting on the river. There is no way this is a 5 star hotel. At first glance, it can seem that way, but there was so much lacking that made our stay less enjoyable. There were no tissues. You had to use toilet paper to blow your nose. There was no magnifying mirror. All 5 star hotels have these. They only supply 2 small bottles for drinking and brushing your teeth per day, so you have to buy bottles and refill with their filtered water in the lobby. The lobby had cups missing to drink tea. They were only there on day 1. And the worst part was their breakfast. It wasn’t hot and lukewarm at best, many items were not replenished. The hotel is remote so if you want to stay somewhere quiet it is good but know you have to take a taxi to get to most places. The sauna and jacuzzi are not included either! If you advertise this feature, it should be mentioned. And finally, the poor alpacas that were tied up in front…that was terrible to see. Put a fence up but do not tie them up. It was sad.
- Alisha (10/5): Exceptional - Pure luxury and breathtaking gardens and scenery. Everything was immaculate and the facilities were great.
The staff were all so lovely and helpful but Oliver went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and even acted as a translator for me during one of the services. Thank you 🙏
- Hugh (9/5): Superb -
- Lynne (10/5): Serene, soulful and excellent quality - Beautiful setting, great location for the Sacred Valley, efficient friendly staff, very comfortable beds and rooms Needed more coathangers
- Konstantinos (10/5): Exceptional - The decoration was fabulous
Beautiful gardens, flowers, animals, art
- Sergio (10/5): Very pretty and relaxing hotel, plenty of green spaces and in a quiet area. - The surrounding space, the lamas, the massive gardens, the food, the staff… everything Nothing
- Martina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mario (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cheng (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shehnaz (9/5): Great Peaceful Stay - The Stay was very comfortable and the views were amazing.. A peaceful stay..! Need more options in restaurant
- Cheryl (10/5): This place - This was a stunning property that had such beauty and the location was perfect! Nothing! It was perfect!
- Leonardo (9/5): Definitely great value and beautiful hotel all around - Beautiful location, great facilities. Beautiful pool and excellent restaurant Nothing really
- Semen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Javier (10/5): Best hotel in the valley - Excellent location.
- Raine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matteo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annabel (8/5): Lovely relaxing stay. - The location was lovely and peaceful. The room was very clean and spacious. Had to pay for water, need it to brush teeth so should have been complementary. The sauna also should have been included. The pool was dirty and cold.
- Ioannis (9/5): Superb -
- Pinchalee (9/5): Peaceful - Beautiful location, quiet and peaceful. Staff are friendly, polite and helpful. Rooms are clean. Best highlight for the kids was that they get to feed alpacas. Nothing, we enjoyed our stay here.
- Emilia (9/5): Experience unparalleled tranquility and breathtaking beauty at - I cannot express how truly breathtaking the location is. Nestled amidst the majestic mountains, the setting is nothing short of idyllic. The tranquility and peace that surround this place make it an ideal retreat for anyone seeking a serene escape. The natural beauty of the Sacred Valley is on full display here, providing a perfect backdrop for relaxation and reflection. Highly recommended for those who want to immerse themselves in a picturesque and peaceful environment. The hotel provided only a small bottle of water per stay, which is insufficient considering the tap water can’t be used for making tea or drinking. This necessitates purchasing additional water from the restaurant, which I found inconvenient and not up to the standard expected from a 5-star hotel. This small detail detracted from an otherwise excellent experience.
- Renato (10/5): Can easily stay a month here! - My wife and I had the best time at Taypikala. It’s fair to say it’s been one of our best hotel experiences ever actually.
The reception team is great and there’s plenty of attention to every single detail. The restaurant team was also super lovely, and they were always checking on us during breakfast or dinner. Moises in particular gave us great recommendations for places to go and made us feel very special in every occasion.
Recommendation for future travellers: do factor in some time to relax and spend time at the hotel. The hotel grounds are amazing, and there are plenty of places to rest and relax. Hammocks by the river, the indoor heated pool, spending time with the alpacas and llamas. We just loved it all.
Thanks Taypikala team! N/A
- Vesna (10/5): Friendly staff, good food , great accommodation. - Very spacious, beautiful scenery, great meals, and very pleasant staff. We liked everything .
- Silva (8/5): Very good -
- Carlos (10/5): Perfect place to stay in the sacred valley - The property is beautiful and peaceful , with amazing views. The staff was super friendly and hospitable, the breakfast is excellent and the rooms are spacious and very comfortable
- Nathan (8/5): Very good - Beautiful setting Food was average
- Joyce (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dan (10/5): Thumbs up! A great place to relax and be at ease - Lovely grounds, attentive staff, nice breakfast. The grounds are truly lovely and peaceful, with an opportunity to wander, hammock by the river, and relax. The room was huge and the bed comfortable. Mostly great - it’s a bit of a bumpy dirt road to get there. The sauna was so hot it felt unsafe.
- Nannie-ana (10/5): We would definetly return to this hotel in the future. I highly recommed it. - It was more like a brunch. Varied and very good.
Its situated about a 25 walk from Urubamba city, so you basically have to call a taxi to visit the City. I mentioned to the staff, that a mirror in the room would be advisable. Our room only had one in the bathroom.
- Arturo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ryan (10/5): Delightful at every moment. - The grounds are immaculate. Feeding the baby alpaca was incredible. And the pools are lovely. The food was exceptional, dinner in particular was reasonably priced and incredible food.
- Orian (7/5): Good -
- Merizzel (9/5): Great stay! - Stunning location. Baby alpaca 💜. Staff was great. It was low season so we felt like we had the place to ourselves. Small issues we ordered to go breakfast and one order was incorrect. At dinner main course the pork belly was seasoned well but should have had a crisper skin.
- Jcmagot (8/5): Very good -
- Hugh (9/5): Superb -
- Aashna (7/5): Good - The location, and the facility was very nice! Airconditioning - it was very hot, the hotel did not have enough fans and were not able to fix airconditioning in the 2 days we were there. We did not sleep well.
- Andrea (9/5): Superb - Gorgeous views! Everything was clean and nice! I would recommend and I would stay here again.
- Ana (5/5): Overall positive but needs improvement - Nice facilities The AC didn’t work properly and neither the bathtub, staff didn’t fix. TV didn’t work properly, but it was fixed.
- Jerry (10/5): Stay 3 nights with exceptional experience of comfort and professional services. About 2000 ft lower than Cusco. Can gr - Quiet and in a secluded area. Beautiful landscaping, wonderful staff. None
- Kaylee (10/5): Peaceful and beautiful - Such a beautiful property. Such hard working kind employees. Such a peaceful and gorgeous place. The shalas the cold plunges the tezmecal. All of it was perfect. Close hike to the waterfall. Nothing to dislike
- Paul-michael (7/5): Good - Concierge Everything to do with the breakfast/ restaurant
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional in every way. A true gem. - The most exceptional hotel I've been to in 44 trips to South America. I didn't want to leave! It was all good.
- Christian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samper (9/5): Superb -
- Stewart (10/5): Perfect - My favourite hotel of our trip. Lovely big room with a door straight out to the pool. Exceptional food and helpful friendly staff. As we left Abel told us about the humming bird garden - many thanks, it took some confidence to get there but Ensifera was brilliant. Nothing, maybe the room was a bit noisy being above the kitchen.
- Dan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sandra (9/5): So Beautiful - It's an absolutely beautiful and relaxing place. So many thoughtful touches, from the decor to the alpacas to the landscaping and activities. The rooms are large, comfortable, and spotless. Breakfast is very good. Setting along the river is exquisite. I really fell in love with this hotel. For the price, the massage services left something to be desired. There were kids playing in the room next to the massage, so there was a lot of noise from them and their games/videos. It was distracting. And after the massage, the therapist "helped" me to fill out the survey, so of course I gave high ratings. The massage itself was fine, but I think I would have gotten the same experience for half the price in town. Not what I expected from a hotel with such exacting standards otherwise. Nevertheless, I'll stay here again.
- Heather (10/5): Incredible hotel! - The hotel and staff were amazing! They went above and beyond to make my stay there wonderful. The view from my room was breathtaking looking over the mountains. It was extremely relaxing with so many amenities (spa, hot tub, swimming pool, massage services, hammocks by the river... just to name a few).
- Jerome (10/5): An awesome hotel! - The beauty of the property, the very nice staff! Nothing, everything was awesome!
- Vanessa (9/5): We had an excellent stay with my family of 5 including young kids 5y old to 10y old. The hotel felt luxurious - Charming, view on the mountain, local decoration, huge ceiling heights, dinner menu! Bathroom accessories could be upgraded to quality brands
- Astrid (7/5): Good -
- Tim (10/5): Memorable and very relaxing - This place is awesome a must stay if you are in Urubamba … there so much space and it’s so peaceful and luxurious plus the staff and food are exceptional It’s fantastic
- Soli (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sukumar (10/5): Excellent stay - clean. Excellent staff. very helpful. none
- Sukumar (10/5): Exceptional - clean and very comfortable
- Christina (9/5): Perfect location to acclimatize when arriving to Cusco. - Beautiful location, but a little off the beaten path. The property is gorgeous, and the staff gave us a great tour. Breakfast was great, but you needed to order in advance, as it was very quiet there.
- Jean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shaundra (10/5): Magical and Mystical - Incredible experience from the moment we walked into the lobby. The hotel sits next to a river at the bottom of the most magical mountain which set the tone to our entire stay. Leaving Sacred Vally / hotel.
- Candace (1/5): We will recommend this hotel to everyone we know visiting Machu Picchu. - The breakfast was good. We loved our stay there. Thank you so much for finding my hot air curling brush. I really appreciated being called after leaving. We will definitely recommend your hotel to anyone we know traveling up to Machu Picchu. Nothing else could have improved our stay. The hospitality couldn’t have been better.
- Susan (10/5): Amazing - Excellent staff as always, the property is exceptional
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - All suites have views of the mountain. It was a good place to acclimatize before you go up Machu Picchu. Beautiful garden, excellent food selections for breakfast. The grounds are very well-kept. You can pretty much stay there for days and be happy. The indoor pool was very welcoming after a day's hike. More food choices in the restaurant
- Julia (10/5): for the money this place was a five star property with great service , food, views, and staff. gardens were of full of t - ambiance, service , food, llamas , property garden and space nothing
- Emily (10/5): Fantastic Stay! - Amazing food and a great place to acclimate for a few days before heading to Cusco. We loved the pool and the animals on the property.
- Sarah (10/5): lovely relaxing property in nature - location , serenity and rooms the hot tub / spa area was a bit cold and could be updated
- Erica (9/5): Superb - The hotel and grounds are amazing! A piece of paradise in the sacred valley!! The staff were very helpful and friendly. The pools, both indoor and outdoor are fabulous!
I liked the sound of the optional activities, unfortunately most weren't able to be booked for a solo traveller. Transfers organised by the hotel were very expensive. I arranged some trips with local drivers I located in town for significantly less.
- Jeffrey (9/5): Beautiful, well maintained hotel with attentive staff - The property was beautiful & well maintained with attentive staff. We stayed in a spacious deluxe king room. The only access to the hotel from Urubamba is a narrow dirt & stone road.
- Jacqueline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emanuele (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Nothing
- Stéphane (10/5): Exceptional - Very beautiful and quiet hotel.
The personnel was very nice and very helpful.
The breakfast was very good too. The pool was not available for 3 days for maintenance works
- Katarzyna (9/5): Superb -
- Margarita (9/5): Great hotel in a spectacular setting - Our room was spacious, clean and a fantastic view of the mountains. I loved the breakfast - great variety. Every member of staff was very friendly and professional. The gardens were beautiful, with stone formations, hidden underground cave, little childrens playground, llamas, amazing flowers. A little colouring set for my daughter and a free lunch/snack pack on one day was a lovely touch. we would love to return. The bathrooms/changing rooms/area near the walls/lounging deck chairs in indoor spa pool area were not cleaned very often- same stains on the floor for the 3 days we were there and dead ants. The garden area outside the spa pool really ruins the view - rubbish, bricks and dead plants- a pity as the rest of the gardens are spectacular. The cushions for the chairs for the outdoor pool lay on the grass for 3 days, guests had to pick them up to use them- they really should be brought in at night and replaced in the morning to prevent mould/insects/dirt.
- Paula (10/5): BEST HOTEL IN PERU - EVERYTHING, the hotel is amazing! the hotel is impeccable, the place is wonderful with the view of the mountains and river, as well as llamas roaming freely around the hotel. the room was decorated full of rose petals in a perfect and super beautiful decoration! I have no words to thank the staff, giving a special mention to Maria, Jamil, Hector, Abel and the chef. it's worth having dinner at the hotel, delicious food!
Should stay in Taypikala, we loved it! Nothing
