Guest Reviews
- Adelaide (10/5): - We had such a lovely stay over the Easter weekend. We managed to beat the traffic and arrived ahead of time and were able to access the property early which was amazing. The cottage was so pretty, welcoming and very well equipped. We look forward to a return stay.
- KCOLLINS (9/5): -
- Parker (4/5): I feel this could be a lovely place to stay but think first impressions and when on holiday we’d like to be outside in a - It was very clean and spacious When we arrived the garden looked totally unkept and really affected our first impression,
The bedrooms felt damp although clean we felt uncomfortable in the rooms because of that. The back garden was like the front and just looked uncared for. Such a shame as it’s such a good space.
- Verna (1/5): Not recommended, dated, mouldy house with safety concerns. - Close to the venue where we needed to be. This is a honest and fair review of this property.
The towels were left near the tumble dryer for us to put in the rooms ourselves.
There were no working fire alarms or smoke detectors.
The house smelt moldy.
One of the bedroom walls was damp.
There was a used glass left in the garden
The showers were overflowing and did not empty efficiently.
The front and back garden are unkept.
There was pages torn out from the visitors book.
The host disengaged and booking.com had to intervene to my satisfaction.
There is no parking, you have to leave your car on somebody else’s drive and leave £5 per day through their letter box.

- Lynn (9/5): -

- Audrey (9/5): - Delightful house, 25 mins walk from the beach in Combe Martin. Well equipped kitchen, lovely garden with outdoor seating. Comfortable beds.
- Jones (10/5): Lovely comfortable character home. - Beautiful character property very conveniently located. Comfy beds and beautiful garden.
- Jennifer (9/5): Very comfortable home from home well equipped. - Large property with garden. Comfortable though stairs would have been difficult for older people. Garden could do with some attention though it was beautiful in design. Front garden gate could do with a latch for safety.
- Arlene (10/5): Exceptional -
- William (10/5): Great stay at the cottage, was very cosy and would definitely recommend for a weekend getaway -
- Rosidalva (10/5): We had a wonderful time - Perfect location Nothing that I didn’t like
- Strydom (10/5): Great get away spot.. - Great property.. loads of space.. fire place was a big draw for us… didn’t use the outside much due to the weather.
- Natalie (10/5): We had a wonderful time. - We loved having the use of the fire, we brought our own logs and it was so cosy. Car park is expensive
- Anne (10/5): Great place for a family get together - Great location for us as we were of to a wedding near by ! Comfortable with lovely furniture in keeping with this Georgian gem 😍Every thing has been thought of to make your stop the best it can be ! Great party house lovely nature garden at rear of house !! Nothing ! I had difficulty logging onto WiFi but that was probably just me!
- Ruth (9/5): A very comfortable and cosy feeling house, but spacious too. -
- Emma (8/5): Very relaxing property. Highly recommend if you want to visit Combe Martin - Beautiful house, very comfortable
- Aleksandra (7/5): Nice and clean place for holiday - Lack of car park
- Michelle (9/5): Charming home in a charming village. - It's a charming home in a charming little village. All in all. I would stay here again! They had everything we needed right there. Plenty of room for 6 people! The only downside is that there is no parking at the house. If it were mine, I would take half of the front yard and make a parking spot. Very doable without losing it's charm. Other wise guests have to either pay to park their car down the road a bit or park pretty far away and hike it up a hill.
- Marie (10/5): Central locating, clean and value for money - Central location. Fab communication. Perfect layout for me and my family and our needs. Very clean and well equipped
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (10/5): Brilliant trip, gorgeous house and ideal stay for families - This was a gem! great value for money and the house had everything! So much space and storage, the amenities were a great touch! There were 8 adults staying in this house on our trip and it was absolutely fine for space! The whole place had a very cosy vibe! There is literally a pub next door and we couldn’t hear anything! Even when some of us went to bed and others stayed downstairs with music, we couldn’t hear it! The location is great too, about 20 min walk to the front! I would definitely stay here again if we did a big trip, couldn’t fault it as we do love coming to Devon and I think my negatives are something that you can get past The parking is £5/day and is a 5 min walk but up a very steep hill and not great for our elderly members in our family! Also it’s double yellow outside the house so can’t unload the car for long.
The garden needs some TLC, very overgrown and the path leading to the house and in the garden down to the BBQ is full of plants, weeds and stinging nettles so do be careful
- Lois (10/5): Comfortable, well located property with a fantastic outdoor eating space. - We were a party of 4 couples who were celebrating a 50th birthday. The house was extremely comfortable for all of us - plenty of space around the dining table and in the lounge. It was well equipped and we particularly liked having use of the gas bbq. The highlight was the undercover outdoor dining area - having lunch and breakfasts out there really made us feel like we were on holiday - especially as the weather was glorious.
Parking arrangements were ideal - either on a private driveway or in public car park (cheaper if you obtain a pass for 4 days/week depending on your stay). Nothing - we had a fabulous time.
- Nicola (9/5): fabulous stay. - gorgeous house, great facilities and very comfortable. once the garden is tidied it will be perfect. we were there in April so little would have been growing.
a little walk from the centre along the road but not really a problem. there are footpaths above the property to avoid the road.
- Rebecca (9/5): Fab cosy house in a lovely seaside town - V warm and cosy house especially with a fire burning in the lounge in the lovely big lounge. The house suited our family of five really well, loads of room for all of us. Beds were really comfy.
- Penny (9/5): Spacious cottage full of character - Lovely comfortable and characterful cottage in an excellent location. The housekeeper wasn't aware that we were coming, so it wasn't as clean as it could have been.
- Claire (8/5): Very good - Great house for a gathering of friends. Cosy fire appreciated for a soggy February stay. Incorrect access code provided by Booking.com
- Antony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pete (8/5): We had a lovely festive family weekend in the house, close to three pubs and fish and chip shop!! - Cosy with log burner. Dining room and lounge could both accommodate the seven of us comfortably, Christmas tree was a nice touch Gardens front and back are obviously next on the list for improvement but as the weather was so cold it didn't present a problem to us!
- Bower (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfectly comfortable. The interior very pleasing. Garden. Beautiful English setting with fabulous river at bottom. Everything provided was so lovely and welcoming. Nothing we dident like
- Amanda (10/5): Loved it 😍 - Loved the feel and homely vibe of this house. Great space A freezer to store ice 🧊for drinks and of course icecream!
