• Tyte (9/5): Brilliant Location to visit nearby Portofino and Cinque Terre. - A great hotel, nice oasis not nearly as far out of the main town as i had read. It was a nice walk into and out of Town taking between 15 and 20 minutes. A great coffee shop close by which wax open from 5am until 10pm which was buzzy, friendly and great value. The perfect hotel, with great staff for visiting nearby places such as Portofino, Cinque Terre, Genoa and Pisa....we found some great restaurants thanks to the hotels recommendations. I would have preffered different pillows, but its s tiny thing compared to how good everything else was.

• Guest (9/5): Oasis of tranquillity, run by very kind people - It was a very well-kept B&B. It was immediately clear that the family ran it with great care and love. They were also always willing to accommodate their guests' requests, such as our request for plant-based breakfast options or making a reservation at a local restaurant. The train station was within short walking distance, making Cinque Terre, Portofino, etc. easily accessible. The shortest route on foot to the city (15 minutes) was along a busy main road. If you wanted to avoid this busy road to get to the city, it takes you almost half an hour on foot.
• Schnell (9/5): Perfekt, nur zu empfehlen - Es war einfach perfekt, man fühlt sich Zuhause. Vor allem die nette Familie die das Hotel führt. Schade dass es kein Abendessen gibt, aber es ist klar. Es ist einfach zu klein, ist verständlich.
• Paula Jones (10/5): Smart, tranquil Italian stay. - The setting was tranquil and accommodation was tasteful, set a little out of town centre but still walkable or a quick bus or taxi ride. A good base for exploring the Cinque Terre and Portofino too. A good range of restaurants nearby and the train station was easy to reach and access. Lovely size pool and plenty of loungers. We appreciated the poolside bar, seeing Balou the residential cat and the breakfast food choice was great. Being offered a poolside towel to use for our stay was lovely and our room was too. We had a really enjoyable stay thank you. We all agreed we would have liked our towels changed as part of the offer, with no extra cost. We arrived Sunday and checked out Wednesday and felt this is too long to keep using the same towel. We would have preferred our towels changed every two days rather than what we experienced. Also as it's a family friendly setting, we would have liked to see a policy of no topless bathing.

• Peter (10/5): Super qua alles met helaas een dissonant. - De rust in de kamer, het uitgebreide ontbijt, de verschillende mogelijkheden van zitjes, de redelijk beloopbare afstand naar Sestri zelf Dat was de luidruchtigheid van een groep Amerikanen bij het ontbijt met een heleboel onnodig gelach en overdreven gedoe. Typisch voor Amerikanen. Daar kon het team van Il Canneto niets aan doen

• Mickaël (9/5): Very nice! - It’s new, very nicely set-up, super clean. The owners were lovely, friendly, and so helpful! The location is not ideal because a bit far from the city center and the walk towards it isn’t particularly nice. I wish the drinks and food prices were more transparently displayed. As many commenter, the breakfast is fine but could be a less pastry and more savory stuff.

• Hannah (10/5): Cozy, clean, well designed and welcoming - Buffet style breakfast with coffee, juice, fresh fruit, yoghurt and pastries as well as eggs or omelets made to order. All so delicious! Family run small hotel. The hosts were kind welcoming and so helpful. The property itself is immaculately clean and beautifully renovated with lush landscaping and a sparkling pool. We stayed with our 8 & 6 year old kids and found the walk into town just about as far as they could go but they managed all week to walk down to the beach and back and then again for dinner. If you have younger kids you would definitely need a stroller. I would absolutely recommend staying here! It was fantastic!

Family who runs the place is extremely kind and welcoming. They thought of every detail when designing the place. Really nice breakfast that you can enjoy on the terrace by the pool. Everything was perfect.

The hotel is about 10 mins from the centre, so it is more peaceful location. The breakfast was excellent, with the best fresh croissants we've ever had. There wasn't anything we didn't like.

The staff were great too and made the stay very enjoyable. Very quiet too. Slightly out of town but only a short walk in so not the end of the world.

I cannot fault anything about this place and I’m very fussy. Nothing to say, there was no negatives. This family so an exceptional job with a true 5 star service. They work extremely hard to provide this to their guests.

Great breakfast and an option of taking lunch at the hotel too with the family running the hotel happy to accommodate dishes, especially for young children. Nothing really, the location offers quietness but is a little bit of a walk when strolling back after dinner.

Beautiful breakfast and good advice from the owners on where to have dinner or where to visit the beaches. The location is perfectly located, away from any noise but close to the city centre by car or by foot. Also easy to reach Cinque Terre! There is nothing to say, it was just perfect!

Giorgia and the team were extremely kind and attentive, ensuring we all had a great time. Breakfast was delicious too. Everything has been designed perfectly and you can tell a lot of care and attention goes in to the upkeep of the place. All facilities were comfortable and very clean, looking new. Our six-year old LOVED the pool and the outside space especially. I would highly recommend to people of any age.

• Sharon (10/5): Beautiful place, lovely owners, and absolutely loved Sestri Levante - Gorgeous place to stay and the owners were lovely It was our choice and it is where it is but I guess it is a little out of town. Whilst we like walking, it is uphill from town and the station and no taxis around to speak of which may not suit everyone, particularly walking uphill from the station with luggage on a hot day. Minor point is that there were tea making facilities in the room but not coffee. But these are tiny tiny little things, it was fabulous.

The pick up from the train station and dropping us off with our luggage on the day of departure were lovely gestures. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and there was decent variety and options. Don't go expecting a "full English" but instead a very nice continental breakfast. The grounds and pool were beautiful but we had no opportunity to sit in them as the weather was very wet during our stay. We knew the location was a little out of town and at the end of a 4 night stay we reflected that it proved to be a little distant from facilities and the main centre. Also reception is manned until midday and then again late afternoon - we didn't have tea and coffee making facilities in our room and so could not make drinks when the hosts were not present which proved restrictive when we stayed in our room much of one day due to torrential rain.

Ideal if the sun shone but it didn’t and not as prepared for bad weather as it could have been. Could do with access to tea and coffee making facilities in the event of cold/ bad weather and some way of drying clothes and towels inside if weather had. Great facilities if weather is good with outdoor space to dry clothes and towels but just nothing indoors.

The breakfast and snacks are delicious. The icing on the cake are the owners. A family run business, everyone is so friendly and accommodating, even after a long summer season they always had a smile on their face and couldn’t do enough for their guests. • Scott (9/5): Superb family-run stylish apartment complex, perfect for a friendly relaxing stay. - The property was stylish, contemporary and spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable, good hot shower and brand new air conditioning. The pool area was the main draw for us, which my daughter loved. This was well designed, with a split-level providing a shallow level for young children. The location had ample parking and was extremely quiet in the evening. The included breakfasts were excellent & also the Aperitivo served pool-side (reasonably priced). The location was convenient for the autostrada and had a garage nearby for fuel. The coop supermarket is also quite close. For young children though, the walk into town was a little long, so we drove after the first few nights. Parking in the Center €2.50 per hour.

• Jackie (10/5): Lovely family run oasis. - Family run property with very relaxed atmosphere, kept immaculately clean, beautiful pool. Perfect for a relaxing break. Free parking so you could hire a car and explore the surrounding region. Hotel was 20 mins walk from sestri - we knew about this and it was worth it for the pool and lovely hotel. We got used to this after the first day and our children are 11 and 8 so old enough to walk every day, we all agreed we would still choose it as we had such a brilliant stay. (Good way to work off pasta!) but would not recommend if you have toddlers.

Owners were very friendly and were great for offering recommendations for restos and sightseeing. Less than 5 minute drive to the main center and waterfront. Everything was perfect!

Il Canneto itself is beautifully designed and you can tell a lot of thought and detail has been put into the design of the building and the grounds. • Grundnes (7/5): Good - This is a brand new hotel, everything is shiny and clean. The staff is super nice. Very relaxing atmosphere, we enjoyed our stay. Spacey rooms and comfy beds. Breakfast was ok, but not more. Could have some more option on the table in stead of order separate items. A coffee machine in the breakfast area would have been nice in stead of ordering. Missed a relaxing chair and a table in our room. A bit walking distance from the city centre.

The family owners have lovingly restored the building, maintaining its traditional feel, which adds to the overall character of the place. The warm and welcoming atmosphere created by the lovely family who run the hotel made our experience truly special. They went out of their way to suggest wonderful activities in the area, enhancing our visit. The highlight for me was the delicious home-cooked food that was served. Every meal was a treat, and it felt like a genuine taste of Italian hospitality. Our stay in the junior suite felt incredibly homely and comfortable, making us feel like part of the family. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone considering a stay in the Sestri Levante area. The combination of a beautifully restored building, the genuine warmth of the family owners, and the delectable home-cooked meals make it a truly memorable experience.
