Guest Reviews
- Rahul Satya Prakash (10/5): - The host was very friendly. They arranged a campfire for us immediately upon request. Check-in and check-out were completely hassle-free.
The view was beautiful, and we could see the railway track and even the toy train from the property. We stayed in a 3BHK villa with a great view. The amenities were basic but sufficient for a comfortable stay. They also have a kitchen with basic facilities.
I don't know why, but I felt like staying with the host, Vatsala Ma'am. Within a short time, she gave me a grandmotherly vibe and made us feel very comfortable.
They ask for an advance payment only to reserve the property, as some people may not show up after booking.
The location is very close to Lovedale railway station. Whenever I come to Ooty, I would definitely prefer staying here again.

- Aravinth (8/5): Good stay in terms of owner but need improvement. - The owner is understanding and good. We have given suggestions for the better and the owner has accepted it and I hope they will do the things needed for better hospitality. Improve the facilities little more.
- Feby Mary (10/5): - The staff was good. The elderly lady managing the resort was very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast of Idli and dinner of Chapati and Parota were good value for money. My kids and friends family loved everything about Heath Cote.
- Dheeraj (10/5): I had an absolutely wonderful stay, and I would like to sincerely appreciate the host for making the entire experience s - Property was well maintained and clean Nothing
- Rohit (9/5): - Had a wonderful stay at Heath Cot, Ooty with family. The view, hospitality, and overall experience were really good. Special mention to Vatsala Aunty — at the age of 76, she is so energetic and caring, which made our stay even more memorable. Highly recommended for a peaceful family stay in Ooty!
- Finaz (1/5): - The property owner was so rude person. She was calling before reaching there and shouting us for the money in advance with out seeing the property. There was no privacy and it’s so bad that she treats the customer on call. She even know her property review is bad. Very bad behaviour. I would never recommend this place to anyone

- Don John (10/5): - Heath cote offers a peaceful and scenic retreat situated in the quiet hills of Lovedale, providing a refreshing escape from the busier parts of Ooty. The property is frequently praised for its colonial-style architecture and the beautiful views of tea plantations and misty valleys that surround it.
Breathtaking Scenery: Guests often highlight the stunning views and the outdoor seating area as a perfect spot for relaxing with tea while enjoying the mountain breeze.
Warm Hospitality: Many reviews mention the owner and staff as being very friendly and compassionate, creating a homely and welcoming environment for visitors.
Cozy Accommodations: The rooms are generally described as spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with large windows that showcase the natural beauty of the area.
Quiet Location: Located away from the main city's hustle, it is ideal for those looking to rejuvenate in nature, though it is recommended to bring supplies as there are few shops nearby
- PAUL (1/5): Not worth for the money - Except for the pleasing words of the host, nothing positive to write. A very cunning lady. She was also helpful in getting a good cab with driver for our local conveyance. We wonder how the property could get such a misleading review. There was not even a bottle of water for drinking. There was 5 cans of water which were not drinkable. The curtains in the first rooms were not clean, There was only one toilet common for three bed rooms. The bathroom was in a horrible condition. For the first time in my life I saw a bathroom with a room size window covered with a curtain. The commode and the wash basin were not clean. There was no privacy for the bed rooms. There is no proper access to the cottage. We have to climb down almost 30 steps and pass through a narrow passage of about 1 1/2 feet between the building and a deep slop terrain to reach the cottage. There was no proper lighting in this narrow passage making movement during late evenings difficult and dangerous. Although the host agreed for a better room for our stay for the second day, nothing was done.
There was no TV and net connection at the room. The property was far away from the tourist locations, It requires around 35 to 45 minutes to reach the town. There were no shops or restaurants within a reasonable distance of the property. Very poor facility.
We adjusted with the property only considering the age of the host. Also she contacted us a few days before the date of booking for an advance of Rs. 1500/- which I paid.

- Shyam (6/5): All good overall! Just that if we had known about the food arrangements in advance, we could’ve been - The location was lovely, and staying together as a family in one big space with 9 beds across three rooms was a real plus! The host was very friendly and easy to talk to—she speaks Tamil, Kannada, Hindi, and English, which made communication smooth and comfortable. The stay was overall fine. However, since the host was elderly and managing things alone without any staff, we had to request basics like towels, handwash, soap, and plates multiple times. There weren’t any provisions for tea or coffee either. The kitchen is available, but it wasn’t clear whether it’s fully equipped.
So I’d suggest going prepared—carry your essentials, plan to cook your own meals, or check if Swiggy delivers in the area. Otherwise, the nearest city with food options is about 2 km away.
- Swastik (7/5): Good - The hospitality and the view. No private transport possible. The place is in the middle of nowhere in Lovedale so travel to and fro is literally absent unless you book a 10k Traveller or something.
- Hrishi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Saleem (10/5): Exceptional -
- Renjith (8/5): Value for money - The owner's cooperation, the availability of kitchen facilities for morning tea, and the beautiful outside view all contributed to a very pleasant experience. Though the stay had its positives, getting there was tough. It was about 4 km from the main road on a very narrow path, making it especially hard at night, and turning the car around was difficult too.
- Manjushak (10/5): Unforgettable stay - Hospitality. It felt like our own home Could have been little more amenities
- Reddy (9/5): Superb - The property has great ambience and also the host was also so friendly . I loved the room and also the view from the property .

- Arjun21 (1/5): Despite all this she had the audacity to ask me for reviews. I am sure positive reviews frm sympathy - Few more negatives:
Roads are narrow but decent location. Not a single shop nearby. We wanted some toiletries as nothing was provided despite charging 5k for her haunted house (best part is that this granny told us some old stories and mentioned that she has 9 children who stay in ooty, but none stay with her in this haunted house). Bachelor's may somehow adjust, but definitely not for couples, couples with kids or elderly people. If she can't host guests she should simply enjoy retirement as she has enough for her living. Please don't ruin our precious vacations with your dream projects like this. Anyone booking this property please read this review if you dont want to ruin your vacation. This property is owned by an old lady in her 70s. It's very evident that she has no clue on technology use. And plz for heaven sake don't go with the photographs posted online. She has 6 portions (so called cottages) in this place. And has posted pictures probably of the newest. I went by the pictures and booked this stay and called this lady for confirmation. She seemed clueless and said she will get back to me. After a while she called and said she has received the booking update. She again called after a hour and asked for advance payment. I paid her 1.5k advance without hesitation. But this lady was very cunning and never revealed any of her plans. Only upon arrival (we visited on a long weekend in April-summer vacation) she showed us the portion that she planned to accommodate us. As somebody else mentioned in their comment it was a 'garage'. Oldest rooms of her house was given to us. I am sure this lady received bookings from multiple sites and didn't know to block ones that were confirmed by other sites. And shamelessly she asked me for the remaining money. I can't believe I paid 5k for the dirty rooms of her own house. I could literally walk to her bedroom from my portion. I mean to say zero privacy. I could have definitely gone for a better option if I was informed in advance about the actual place she planned to accommodate us. Considering factors like her age (must be 75 plus) and the peak season - non-availability of rooms/wastage of time in hunting a better option on the actual day of vacation, we decided to adjust. But I will never suggest this place to anyone. Parking facility is bad. There were 4 cars on the narrow parking area. We had to leave for sightseeing at 6 am on Sunday morning. We had no option but to disturb an young couple that early in the morning just to remove their car so that we could take our car outside.

It was right at the edge of a hill and the amma caretaker will treat you like her own children provide you with utensils induction cooker ingredients hot water and camp fire at an extra cost... - Chandana (2/5): Disappointing old abandoned house - Location and view Photos and description did not match the property at all. The photos provided online is of the host’s house, but where you get to stay is cottages situated next to it. The cottage we got felt like an old abandoned house with the paint ripping and falling off everywhere, old beds, table and chair, also found blood stains on one of the pillows. When we complained about the state of the house, we were offered to stay in the host’s house sharing the house with her, which we were not comfortable with as we wanted our private space. Since, we were staying for only one night and did not have time to look for another stay we somehow managed to spend the night there.
The host has two other cottages there which are renovated and looked liveable. But this one we stayed in should not have been listed in the first place until it is renovated.
