- Shikanee (10/5): - Amazing place with amazing hosts! We'll travel out of our way to stay here again! Can't wait
- Anne (8/5): Rural stay - The loaf of bread was a friendly touch. Nice towels. Comfortable couch. Clean and tidy. very spacious.
OK for two people. The hosts had obviously thought about the setting up and the kitchen was well equipped for simple meals. The lighting was challenging. No upstairs switch for main lights. Unfortunately the sensor light at the top of the stairs turned on everytime there was movement in the bed. Would like to see better bedside lights to read by. I would recommend taking an eye mask if you are sensitive to light at night. Because there was no wall between the bedroom (mezzanine floor) lights from downstairs and the kitchen appliances were obvious. WIfi was intermittent which interrupted watching something on the TV.
- Patrisha (10/5): Overall I recommend this place for anyone wanting to get a way from there busy life and just relax - Beautiful scenery and great location It rained every day
- Willie (9/5): Loved our stay - perfect setup and vibe for two mates catching up. - Unique but excellent set-up. Thoughtfully equipped with essentials and extras. Lovely quiet location but still close drive into town. Outstanding shower!! Tricky to keep warm - heat pump is excellent but quite loud as it needs to crank heat into the big space. Sofa bed not very comfortable so a genuine second bed or quality sofa bed option would be a bonus.
- Amanda (10/5): -
- Kevin (10/5): - A bit different and every detail had been thought of.
- charlene (8/5): - The kitchen is more like a bar
Not easy to cook a meal with induction stove top for one pot and no instructions
Didn’t like going out to shed to use bathroom
- Ellie (10/5): -
- Tasha (10/5): Tash from brissie - Great size, beautifully clean, very well equipped. Great memorabilia to view.
Great private location.
Has a very nice homely feel with the little personal touches. Great communication.
Thoroughly enjoyed our 6 day stay. It was very cold getting to the toilet throughout the night due to its location.
- Sam (9/5): Cool and cozy! - Peaceful location. Great facilities - every need and more was taken care of. Beautifully presented and kept immaculate. The rustic bar and pot belly stove were very cool! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Whanganui. Having to pass through the shed to get to the bathroom. Not a big deal, just unexpected.
- Jaspal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Neil (8/5): Great studio style apartment in the country with easy access back into the city! Perfect! -
- Deborah (10/5): Had a fab time in beautiful accommodation. - Beautiful peaceful surroundings, Great views as you drove back down to town.Spotlessly clean and tidy. Everything you need for a weekend away There was nothing to not like. It was perfect. Far better than a little motel.
- Te (10/5): Exceptional - Home baked bread on arrival - very nice. Spacious accommodation. Wide selection of coffee and tea. Hosts' guide to what to see and do and where to eat in Whanganui was very informative. Liked the aeronautical theme and the sporting memorabilia. Liked the location - peaceful & quiet. Outdoor area was great as well. We loved everything about our stay at MJR.
- Jennifer (7/5): Host very nice and doing there best to fix issues. Overall very nice place but a bit challenging for us as an older cou - The location and views No freezer for ice cubes or storing frozen food.
Internet intermittent and affecting tv. Bathroom and toilet in the shed external to main area.
In ability to turn main lights on or off from loft bedroom
- Carol (8/5): Lovely peaceful setting - Lovely & peaceful setting. Nice bread & jam if that was breakfast. We left the door open at night so we could see our way back to the room from the toilet. The auto lights were too spaced from the room entry & the light by the room door didn't trigger until you were close. Not a huge thing, cos knew the direction we had to go.
- Darryn (10/5): The large space was perfect for a relaxing get a way. - Large private comfortable space. Outdoor seating and table was perfect for enjoying the morning sun. A steel scrubber or similar to clean the brand new bbq.
The bed was very soft.
- Sebastian (9/5): Luxurious rural retreat - Every little detail was considered. There were bathrobes, bread, a bedside lamp/phone charger, a dart board, the fluffiest towels, so many different kinds of tea, kitchen gadgets… We weren’t sad about the crap weather as it was a great place to be stuck inside. And good value for money. I’m being fussy here, but we would’ve loved some ice for our gin 😜
