Guest Reviews
- Richard (9/5): Great, we will book again in the future - The accommodation was very clean and the staff were so friendly and helpful
- Richard (10/5): A wonderful stay, we will definitely be returning. - Lovely setting and great accommodation. The staff were exceptional, so friendly and really welcoming and helpful.
- Marie (4/5): Disappointed - Location The fact we booked two bedroom for 4 adults but on arrival we were allocated a one room with a open bed and a pull out bed for children not enough towels for four people, so two of the party had to go and find alternative accommodation, the other stay but found the bed to be extremely uncomfortable.
- Richard (10/5): Great location and accommodation. The staff were so helpful and very friendly - NA
- Michael (8/5): -
- Tim (10/5): Clean bright comfortable and great value - Easy access , very clean and a great location Modern , warm and very usable
- Howard (4/5): Ok staff were very nice a quick to react to a situation - Easy to get in and out of The smell in the home . No bed cover had to call management out to sort things out
- Ayse (6/5): Had issues being let in, check in was accepted for 6-7pm, got there 5:58pm buzzing in at the barriers and no answer, had - Peace and quiet Bed was old and springy, very uncomfortable , sofa is also springy and uncomfortable
- Sofi (1/5): would never stay here again, and I would never recommend it to anyone else. - Nothing The accommodation was absolutely nothing like advertised. The accommodationdid not match the photographs or the description of what I had booked. It was far smaller than expected and very uncomfortable, making the stay unpleasant from the outset.
In addition to this, I found the staff to be unprofessional, which further impacted my experience. As a result of these issues, I had an extremely negative stay and ultimately felt forced to leave early.
This experience fell well below an acceptable standard, and I feel misled by the advertising of the property.
- Steven (1/5): Would never return to this site - Nothing view was OK We had no hot water and staff said what do want us to do so left property's early
Terrible
- Steven (1/5): Absolutely terrible stay - Nothing we had no hot water for our full stay We had no hot water and staff said what can we do
- Amy (9/5): - The only thing that would have made the stay any better would have been a bath. For the size of the place a bath would have been great but didn’t affect the stay at all. Lovely experience.
- Monica (10/5): -
- Richard (10/5): Excellent accommodation, the staff were very friendly & helpful -
- Belinda (7/5): - It was quite nicely decorated, very clean, very well stocked. The beds, the sofas and the bed linen need replacing, especially some of the pillows.
- Ben (10/5): -
- David (4/5): -
- Jayne (8/5): Enjoyed our stay & would stay again. - The lodge was lovely. Well furnished & equipped. Comfortable. The shower wouldn't go cool & we were in 30 degree weather. The knob swivelled round & round & the shower stayed on hot.
- Jacqueline (5/5): Probably best if you have a caravan or tent - The setting is pretty, with water and trees round about. The nearby pub is close and offers good food. The staff listen to complaints (but no action). The pictures on the website do not match the accommodation and so expectations are not met. Reception closes at 18h00, so if you arrive after that time you have to call an emergency number but information about this would have been useful, particularly as I had informed the site of an arrival at 20h00. Neither, in our case, were there any instructions about where we were staying or how to access the accommodation. Unpleasant odours from drains and a bed in to which you have to do a leopard crawl.
- Gary (10/5): Great accommodation and location - We stayed in the Peaky Pod which was fantastic, right on the riverbank, a 5 minute walk to the excellent pub.
Staff at Lee Valley were very helpful and accommodating, we will be back 😊 Nothing it was perfect
- Samantha (10/5): The ultimate peaceful trip - Location perfect, there is a pub/restaurant and a cafe a 2 min walk away, lovely riverside walks, a 20 min walk into hoddesdon town centre via a footpath directly next to the site
- James (10/5): Lee valley is outstanding - Lee valley is outstanding
- Christine (7/5): Good -
- Guozhen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (9/5): Superb -
- Chelsy (10/5): best little place we have stayed. - the property was lovely, clean, beautiful surroundings been refurbished very well everything you could possibly need.
hot tub tested twice a day.
overall we will definitely be coming back.
just nice and remote for ur kids to play the family to go on walks and have proper family time. no clubhouse or anything.
- Perry (10/5): Would recommend - Very clean would use again Every single was perfect
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shannon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Derya (9/5): Superb -
- Bridget (9/5): Superb - The pods are clean modern and staying in December were lovely and warm.
Close to all we needed.
Staff were friendly and helpful. We did have to buy an Iron as non available.
- Amber (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jenny (9/5): Staff friendly and helpful, and the property was clean and comfortable. - The jacuzzi was so relaxing and the Christmas tree they had put in the lounge was lovely. No blind or frosted glass on the back door.
- Carmen-geanina (9/5): Superb -
- Jenny (8/5): Great for my work needs. No complaints. - The space in the static caravan was good- it even had a bath. Poor internet connection and no network connection to the TV - so no Netflix
- Jenny (8/5): Very good -
- Caroline (10/5): Amazing, will be back - Very clean and neat!
Very well looked after. We arrived at 6 pm so it was dark and couldn’t find a lodge. Would’ve been nice for a map or to be told location before arriving however found a park advisor and he showed us where we needed to go. We also found a dead mouse in the sandpit In the play area.
- Jenny (9/5): Relaxing and convenient - Local to get to my work placement, lovely surroundings and friendly, helpful staff.
The place was clean, tidy and comfortable
- Lorraine (2/5): UNCOMFORTABLE DISSAPOINTING GREAT LOCATION - LOCATION VERY VERY UNCOMFORTABLE BED NO ACCESS TO BED VERY POOR DESIGN, NEVER AGAIN WITH THESE PODS
- Sean (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (5/5): Would not recommend the cabins here. - Close to the canal and the weir.
Probably an OK base if you wanted to visit this particular area in a caravan.
The Cabin was near the canal and was nice and quiet, with a bit of birdlife outside. Very disappointing experience. The accommodation was uncomfortable for 4 people - the room was a lot smaller than the one photo in the listing showed.
Went to do washing one day and was told BOTH washing machines were out of service and would be at least 3 weeks to repair??? Heard the staff having a good giggle as we left the office....
Left an expensive jacket in the room (remember exactly where I left it hanging) - sent them a few emails, but zero response.
- Wendy (9/5): Great park in lovely surroundings. Some lovely walks - Only issue I had was we arrived at 6:45pm and was told we were too late to check in and would need to find a hotel. I travelled with my 84 year father so was a bit upsetting. however they finally found someone to allow us in. The booking receipt did not state about being there. by a certain time or had the key box PIN number on. we were unaware of the procedure. Everything else was great. Thank you to the cleaner guy who came to let us in Ref above and the fact that the site is on a very busy road, trying to cross with an elderly person was frightening. Can do with a path from the site around to the right so you can access the facilities easier but safer.
- Ashley (8/5): Very good -
- Jon (7/5): Convenient. - Location to work Could feel the springs in the mattress
Sofa (although a sofa bed) very uncomfortable
Noisy traffic from nearby road from 5.30am!!!
- Victoria (3/5): not the most comfy - The setting was lovely, overlooking the river. The space was ideal for 1 or 2 people.
The cabin was dry and warm. the bedding/towels clean and sufficient for 2 people even though I was booked as a solo.
Didnt see it mentioned in the booking details but there was wifi the cars/motorbike noise on the road nearby was loud. I had to ask the cabin next door to turn down thier music
The bed was super uncomfortable to the point of waking up barely able to move in pain, which spoilt the getaway. the sofa was also not very comfy.
The kitchen facilties were adequate but the pots/pans/plates etc were not the cleanest. The hob was induction so I couldn't even go and get cheap pans to use instead
There was a bottle of partially drunk diluted squash and other items left in the cabin from previous guests.
The sockets has USB ports, however the USB ports didnt work and I tried with multiple different cables whihc worked with my battery pack so I know it wasnt the cables at fault
- Neil1133 (9/5): Superb - Great location, open green spaces. Very quiet and peaceful. Great having own space to come and go. Comfy beds, equipt kitchen. Check in a little complicated, due to a late arrival. All fine once contact with staff was made.
- Aziz (6/5): Pleasant - Location Check in arrangements as missed my first night, because did not receive any email or text or call How to access my cabin keys once check in reception closed at 18 pm, I called then the emergency phone number but didn't get any response or return call.
- Audrey (8/5): Perfect for what we wanted. - Very cute with a good size deck. Bed and sofa hard and uncomfortable.
- Sharon (9/5): Superb -
- Jake (9/5): Nice break away from home, would book again. - We chose this as a getaway for my parents in their 90's to share with family dipping in and out. Place was immaculate! Bathroom first class with a good basic kitchen. Large deck for sitting out and relaxing. We live in the area and so knew where all the nearby shops etc were and was easy for us to nip back home. Plenty in neighbouring Hoddesdon if you are new to the area. Staff were excellent and super fast at sorting out a couple of little problems. Lots of wildlife around including flocks of geese and bunnies. Our only complaint would be that the sofa bed was pretty uncomfortable. Okay for little ones, but as an average sized adult I could feel supporting bars across my back. Other than that everything was more than I had expected by far.
- Richard (2/5): very bad indeed. they don't know what they are doing. i want the refund they promised me. - it's very near an industrial park. we were misled as to our accommodation. the photograph of what we booked was completely different to what we ended up with. about one third of the size.
- Greg (9/5): Superb -
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Location was perfect. Short walk to restaurant. Surrounding areas were perfect. Would definitely make use of this resort again. All expectations were met. Nothing to change.
- Neil (7/5): Not the best - The location We couldn’t get in we were ringing the buzzer for at leader 10 mins which isn’t good enough then when we went to the caretakers van he said did we ring the buzzer it’s not good enough really spoke to hoeseasons who contacted the property and they wouldn’t give them any late check in details then all week the tv didn’t work due to poor WiFi
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gabrielle (5/5): Passable - Small Uncomfortable sofa and mattress which led us to leave 2 days early.
- Abigail (8/5): Very good - The property was cleaned to a very high standard, it's comfy and had everything you require. The French windows did not lock on one door and the other set of doors didn't fit into the doorframe correctly so could not be fully locked. We contacted hoeseasons, as there was no one at the on site office even though the hours stated it should be open, they let the site know but we heard nothing from them.
- Alan (8/5): Really nice stay - Great location. Clean and comfortable. Nothing
- George (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (7/5): Kingfisher peaky pod - Warm and comfortable. Nice decked area outside Bedding was dirty and when asked for new, they just gave new linen. Could of done with a new duvet and pillow.
Toilet flush and seat was broken. When brought to their attention the flush was repaired but still seemed tempremental and the seat was repaired.
- Lyn (10/5): Lovely little break… - The property was immaculate. So modern with excellent facilities.
Staff great too. Overall fantastic experience.
- Amirah (10/5): Exceptional - Everything is super nice! Gary and Richard were super helpful too! My car was stuck in the mud (totally my fault!) and they did all they can and managed to get the car out of the mud. Thank you so much! Nothing to dislike.
- Parkinson (8/5): Peaceful, tranquil stay - The cabin was clean and peaceful, The staff was friendly. The cabin was cold and took a long while for the heater to warm the cozy cabin. The heater being on celling is what prevents the cabin from warming quickely ( bring blow heater in winter months if you like warmth this is NOT provided.)
However, in the summer, it will be great👌
I am grateful for the time spent in the cabin and will diffinately be back. Thank you.
- Mulenga (10/5): Great getaway for family - Everything the place was unbelievably comfortable and super clean. The staff were all amazing! Definitely recommending this place and I will be back!
- Shanell (5/5): Always a lovely stay just a shame about the smell and the cleanliness - The location and the layout. Very warm and cosey The smell coming from the on suite and the uncleanliness. The table was sticky, the cups had lip stick marks on and the bowls and plates still had food stuck to them. The roofs and door frames was covered in webs.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Arin (1/5): Bad - Don’t trust the pictures for this place
- Sharon (10/5): Peaky Palace - Perfect little Palace
Bright, clean and has everything it needs for a relaxing stay.
Rabbits playing in the evening
Geese combing the grass in the morning
Ducks on the river and SO quiet!
Lovely place to stay. Nothing not to like
- Kayleigh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adrian (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Luke (10/5): Would definitely stay again when working in the area - Stayed in ‘Tresco lodge’ loved the size of it and how clean and fresh it was
- Jamie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (8/5): Lovely stay but beware of Booking.com - Lovely setting. Well maintained. Cosy and quiet. Booking.com misled us with their pictures on the website advertising the property.
No heating on when we arrived. Was quite cold.
- Debra (9/5): Superb -
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Alistair (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jason (10/5): Exceptional -
- Casey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mirren (10/5): It was a great family holiday, suitable for all ages. - A Lovely location, the accommodation was clean and well equipped, it gave me the space and flexibility that I needed. Wi-Fi was poor at certain times.
- Emily (10/5): Great time, amazing nature, beautiful area to stay in - Amazing location. We cycled up the river from East London and enjoyed the ride a lot, the location is right next to the river and really feels like you're amongst nature. There are places to explore on your bike all around the area. There's a decent pub close by with a food menu, but I recommend going to the nearby town to do some shopping so you're not spending loads on dining and drinking out (there's a small fridge and kitchen in the property). It was a little unclear from the photos attached to 'One bedroom home' which one it would be, as it included photos from lots of different types of properties, it took a bit of sleuthing to figure out what was what before I booked.
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb - Perfect little spot loads of shops, pubs and things to do nearby
- Donald (10/5): Great Value - Stayed in the Hamilton caravan, 2 adults , 3 kids under 10. Comfortable, clean and fully equipped kitchen.
Great location for a mixed break. Lee valley country park and under an hour to drive for Harry Potter, Legoland and other good tourist spots for kids. Close enough to the town for supermarkets , pubs etc. You'll need a car though. The location of this specific caravan at the entrance and near the main road.
- Adam (9/5): Superb -
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carl (10/5): can’t say nothing bad from moment I checked in to checkout - fresh and spotless
great location within site clean
well equipped
- Matthew (9/5): a very comfortable enjoyable stay - very beautiful surroundings and lovely river running alongside the site with a nice pub just down the road.
the accommodation was very clean and well stocked with utensils for cooking as well as a little welcome pack.
