Guest Reviews
- Gareth (8/5): Perfect for what I needed. - A spotless property with great facilities and a comfortable bed. Quiet location 5 mins drive from Kinsale. Friendly host
- Keane (10/5): -
- Nordzi (9/5): - Stayed 2 nites and host Valda is very friendly and approachable. Simple apartment but fully equipped. Will definitely return, if visit Ireland again 😀. None
- Yurii (10/5): - The hostess is very nice and friendly. The stay was comfortable. The description matches the reality.
- Trevino (10/5): Worth the stay - Tranquility, hospitality and clean comfortable room.
- Anaga jose (5/5): -
- olatz (2/5): Awful - It was a terrible two days. Very bad experience. We could not have showers with hot water, the electricity went out one morning. To get to the mini kitchen, you have to go through the bathroom literally. There was no place for the 3 of us to sit for breakfast or dinner and not adult could sleep in the sofa bed without back pain. It´s the most overpriced accomodation ever, no suitable for 3 people, 2 at the most and very closely related. It was a terrible two days. Very bad experience. - Hermann (6/5): - Nähe zu Cork, Lage. Kein Tisch/stühle für 3 Personen. Wohnung nur für 2 geeignet.
- Kimberly (10/5): - It was a cosy place to stay with good privacy and the people were very nice! Many cliffs in the area you can not visit because all the ways were private property sadly
- Mark (6/5): - Host was lovely and fruit bowl was a nice gesture. Laundry facilities were very good. Unfortunately shower was substandard, due to lack of hot water. Host advised previous guests had issues, but thought they were resolved however it appears that it is still an issue.
- Kylie (5/5): Ard Falcon, a base for Kinsale - The location was quiet and rural and the heating was excellent. Use of a washing machine and tumble dryer was appreciated. The shower was very poor, intermittently running cold
The layout meant going through the bathroom to the kitchen which wasn't very practical.
Lack of a dining table - you could replace the desk in the sitting room with a small dining table and a couple of chairs.
The kitchen was not very well equipped - practical for 2 people but not when inviting others to come for dinner.
The WiFi was intermittent and not available in some areas.
- Wilfred (8/5): - Location.. wonderfully quiet, beautiful view...and easy access to both to Kinsale and Cork. Having to ask for the heating to be put on. The nights were very cold.
- Heather (10/5): Lovely stay near Kinsale - Wonderful stay - we were a short drive from Cork and Kinsale with the pleasure of being outside both cities. Valda was a lovely host and so helpful throughout our stay. We would happily stay here again! N/A
- Siciliano (8/5): - The facilities were very clean and the bed was comfortable. No heat and it was very chilly.
- Natalia (8/5): -
- Laura (10/5): Valda è stata gentilissima e l’appartamento era perfetto - Confortevole, ben posizionata per visitare Cork e Kinsale, facilmente raggiungibile dall’aeroporto
- Pavla (10/5): I definitely recommend - Very nice hostess. Privacy, cleanliness and the possibility to use the grill, for example. Beautiful view of grazing cows and a beautiful cat.
- sandrine (9/5): - Lieu exceptionnel.
- Maria Barbara (8/5): - Bellissima posizione, zona tranquilla con giardino, propoetari molto accoglienti. .
- Heather (10/5): Exceptional - So quiet! Great location. Bright, clean and comfortable. Lots of cupboard space. Easy to relax. We loved it. Maybe a few more cups and small plates. And a few more teatowels. But no big deal.I could have asked for more and host be glad to supply .
- Mauro (6/5): Nice location, surrounded by greenery and far from any noise, but with an inconvenient room layout. - Position was excellent. The owners were kind and helpful. We appreciated that the flat had been recently renovated for short-term rentals, but we found some aspects of its layout quite inconvenient. In particular, the dining table in the kitchen was too small to be comfortable, and more importantly, the bathroom was located between the kitchen and the other rooms. This meant that to reach the kitchen from the bedroom, one had to walk through the bathroom, which we found very unpleasant and impractical.
Technically, it was possible to access the kitchen from outside via the porch, but that would require leaving the flat and re-entering from another entrance—clearly not a convenient solution, especially in bad weather or during the night.
- Shirley (9/5): Great experience - The location and quietness. But still close to Kinsake Nothing
- Brian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (8/5): Overall a wonderful place to stay, but the experience could have been made better with a bit of extra attention to detai - The location is beautiful with gorgeous scenic views. The property was roomy and well-lit, comfortable and a peaceful, relaxing place to stay. It was good to be able to cook and use the washing machine and dryer. It could do with a handbook to help explain how to use the tv and the shower. Even though Valda explained them to us, there was too much information to keep in our heads. We would also have had great difficulty finding the property if we hadn’t asked for directions in advance-it would be helpful if Booking.com or the owner could provide the Eircode once payment has been made. Also, at the time of our visit, the toilet didn’t flush properly
- Neil (9/5): Superb - Apartment was clean and quiet. Happy with stay
- Richard (8/5): Very good - Nice view, patio space.
Cows to watch, and friendly cat.
- Patrick (9/5): Superb -
- Dan (8/5): Very good -
- Zuzanna (10/5): We had a fantastic stay. - The owner was friendly and welcoming, the accomodation was pleasant and very clean. Everything was well prepared for our stay.
- Lourie (10/5): Exceptional and relaxing! - The whole place place is so cozy and relaxing!
The owner, Valda meet us when we arrived and showed us the place..
The grounds are beautiful and so green!
The location is also so close to Kinsale.. only 3 minutes away!
- Ncube (10/5): We had a really good stay, worth the money,,, easy to find the location,,, nature view was excellent. - The property is 10/10 I liked everything,,, it was peaceful, lovely and smart
- Maria (8/5): nice and peaceful place to be - Kitchen it needs radiator to heat during winter it's too cold and TV should be Smart TV, to have the comfort to watch the latest movies or apps when the weather is bad
- Sharon (9/5): Superb - The accommodation was clean, warm and well stocked. We felt very welcome when we saw the groceries left in the kitchen and toiletries in the bathroom. The shower could have been better, and we couldn't get hot water from the tap on the day we left, so had to boil the kettle for a wash.
- Michelle (8/5): Very good -
- Eileen (6/5): Pleasant - The host was very nice The property is too small for three people. The kitchen could do with a proper oven and hob .if they took away the table and stools in the kitchen .they could put a oven and proper hob.the kitchen presses need updating as they had a smell of musk. They could put a proper oven and hob . Didn’t like that u had to go true the bathroom to get to the kitchen. The deco could do with updating. The bedroom smelt of musk. Could do with freshing upThe wardrobe were smelling too I think they could do wit changing . The windows were all wet in the inside . Inter net wasn’t great .The chair and couch were very uncomfortable. There was a desk in the sitting room which wasn’t needed there. They could put a small table there with three chairs so people could eat there meals. Unfortunately I wouldn’t stay there again .
- Duc (7/5): Good -
- Kimberly (10/5): The owners are absolutely lovely and kind. The location is between Kinsale and Cork city. Very convenient. - The cleanliness was fantastic!
- Annie (9/5): A lovely peaceful break near Kinsale - Nice and private, with a lovely little garden. Great location to get into kinsale. Lovely host who was friendly and helpful. Amazing views. Sofa bed was uncomfortable but it was ok for my young son on this occasion
- Sandy (9/5): Beautiful location, warm welcome and Valda even offered some staples for us to get us by for our stay. Will definitely s - This place is unbelievable! The views when you drive in puts you at rest immediately. Valda is so gracious and helpful with suggestions about the area.
- Jarle (8/5): Cozy apartment and a very nice host -
- Bishal (10/5): Charming Property with Scenic Garden and Exceptional Hospitality - The property was lovely, featuring a beautiful garden with mountain views. We enjoyed having breakfast and meals outside, surrounded by nature. Additionally, they provided transportation to and from Kinsale. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful.
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - Nice place. Friendly host.
- Misty (9/5): Superb - The hosts were amazing. They went above and beyond by sticking the kitchen with some essentials like milk and bread. The washer and dryer were in working order. There are multiple locks, and you have a set of keys to come and go as you please. They also gave us a great recommendation for dinner to Man Fridays. This is a great place to stay as long as you are not expecting 5 star luxury. This is a typical rental where everything is the base accommodation. There is nothing wrong with it. You just need to know that the toilet seat wobbles, the dryer takes more than one cycle, and the couch is stiff.
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly & helpful hosts. Perfect location for Cork or Kinsale.
- Ines (10/5): Exceptional - I love the nature and the hosts were amazing.
- Keith (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (8/5): Very good - Lovely hosts. A quiet rural position but close enough to Kinsale with a car and much better value.
- Michael (9/5): Very generous and genial hosts, the ideal location for a peaceful getaway, so serene. -
- Todd (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful location and very friendly host
- Karen (7/5): Good -
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - Warm welcome. Friendly host. All was good
- Dale (10/5): Exceptional - Valda is a great host and gave us a tour of the property with everything we needed to know.
- Andrew (9/5): Excellent spot to stay outside of Cork! - Lovely location and apartment attached to the family home. There's plenty of space and easy access to your side of the house. Everyone was super friendly and kind and we really appreciated that they left us a few staples in the kitchen for when we arrived too! N/A
- Leonie (9/5): Superb -
- Giuditta (9/5): comfortable and cosy place for peaceful staying - beautiful location, extremely kind owners, comfortable staying, all super nice! kitchen super equipped, space, parking place, and nice environment nothing, all super. maybe, the sofa.. is a sofa, so not as comfortable as a bed. but very affordable
- Henry (8/5): Very good - location Nothing
- Irene (10/5): Lovely apartment to spend some time off, relax and enjoy nature. - Located in a very quiet place and surrounded by nature. The landscape is beautiful. I enjoyed my time off very much; the apartment is very comfortable and has everything a person needs. The hostess Valda and her husband are just lovely. Very pleased to have met them. Local people are very friendly and caring.
Definitely a recommended place to stay in if you love nature and quietness.
Looking forward to visit again.
Thank you so much.
- Charles (6/5): Pleasant - we had to turn central heating every hour. had to ask host to use washing machine
- Irene (10/5): Well placed for access to both Cork and Kinsale, but blessed with the silence of the countryside. - I booked this property to an extent by accident, on discovering that guest houses available in Kinsale or Cork at a day’s notice were either booked up or beyond my budget. It was the most delightful accident! Beautifully appointed and well equipped, it was just ideal for a couple of days drawing breath before I tackled Dublin.
Valda should advise all her guests that they don’t need to bring milk, or bread, or a pat of butter – there was even a cafetière and some ground coffee, and I think tea if you wanted! I used the washing machine and pegged out clothes on the line (there’s also a tumble dryer). Table and chairs outside to eat in the garden.
Best bit – 500-thread-count crisply ironed sheets on the bed. Absolute bliss. (Note - if my pic of the bedroom uploads, it was after I'd slept in the bed!) Nothing. I’d go back in a heartbeat.
- Kevin (9/5): Superb -
- Roger (9/5): Superb - Lovely place on a nice property! Host was very friendly and the place was nice, clean and comfortable! Shower pressure was bad and water had a strange smell
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent experience very quiet and comfortable will stay again
- Alison (10/5): Would recommend - We had a great stay at Ard Falcon, the location was perfect, 10 min drive from the local shops and takeaways. Milk, bread and yoghurts in the fridge was a nice touch. Kitchen had everything you needed. Lovely little garden and modern apartment. N/a
- Anastasiia (10/5): Exceptional - Everything Bedroom and books.
