• Sue (10/5): Beautiful hotel mixing old charm with the modern touch with friendly helpful hotel staff - A lovely hotel with plenty of character but with a modern twist. Very near to the local theatre that I was visiting. Friendly and helpful staff who really did their best to make my stay as comfortable as possible Can’t think of anything I didn’t like to be honest
• Incze (9/5): It is a slightly old hotel but well maintained and well equipped. - It is right at the beach, great views. Breakfast could have been just “help yourself” breakfast, we were not sure about this table service. More choices maybe.

Muzak (nearly everywhere). Love The Beatles - but not during breakfast (but they did turn the volume down for me).
• Derek (9/5): Great beach location - Our room had recently been refurbished in Art Deco style and was excellent with a view to the river. We were there for our friends' surprise birthday lunch party and the staff were very obliging making sure everything went well. We all enjoyed our food.

• Mrs. B (10/5): I would love to return to this hotel - Room was fabulous with terrific view, the shower was so nice and I was provided with a wonderful terry cloth robe. Nice decor and I loved the place. Food was good at the restaurant. Front desk staff was lovely. Nice little town with good walks. Bartender had no idea how to make a vodka martini! I found that unusual.

Only two little things.1.The noise from the amusements.2.Couldn't cool our room down.Wanted it around 20degrees but it was 23/24 degrees which was too warm.

• Gill (10/5): Great hotel on the beach - Loved the beach view. Room very Art Deco and huge. Great bathroom. Spotlessly clean. Staff wonderful. Nothing.
• Margaret (6/5): In a different room it would have been 100%. - Breakfast was great as were the staff at all times. The shower did not work on our first morning and we had difficulty finding a member of staff to inform. When eventually someone came to check on it they had to actually bash it very very hard to move the control knob. The bed was comfortable but far too small. Had to ask for drinking water on the second day as it was not automatically topped up .Was told they only top up the ‘posh rooms’. No extractor or window in the en-suite which seemed odd.

The room was quite hot with constant heating on. So, we turned this off but keeping the window open was a challenge.

• Leslie (8/5): - The hotel is in the best location in the area with spectacular views across the harbour and beach. There is a good restaurant and great lively bar and the staff were all very friendly and helpfull

• Jenny (10/5): It was everything I hoped for definitely stay there again - We had lunch and dinner both lovely amazing portions for dinner we didn’t do breakfast found that a little bit expensive staff were so friendly right the way we weren’t kept waking for anything we asked for There was absolutely nothing you could not like the deco was art deco the lighting and the pictures on the walls were amazing I wanted to take everything home with me even outside was nice lovely view of the beach just lovely

A very nice warm and comfortable bed. The was a television and tea facilities in the room. We only had one evening meal which was very good. We saw other meals being taken to customers. It was popular with the locals as the restaurant and bar were full both nights we were there. We found we did not need anything more.

• Susan (9/5): We'll be back!! - The room was made up to a good standard every morning. The bathroom was clean with shower gel and shampoo supplied. We had a couple of meals in the bar/restaurant, both of which were very good. The staff were efficient, friendly and attentive. The weather was very sunny during our stay so the room got very hot. The window didn't open very far which was understandable given safety concerns but it did make the room a bit uncomfortable at night. A fan in the room may have helped.

• Michael (10/5): Return visit here celebrating 10th wedding anniversary and was not disappointed - We were delighted with the room. the decor, the furniture, pictures etc and the bathroom was something special. All the staff were obliging and very friendly and the meals were good, especially the breakfast. We invited local relatives to join us for dinner and we found the food and the service very good. Nothing we can think of.

• Gary (10/5): Excellent hotel - I stayed at The Pier Hotel as my elderly mother was taken seriously ill and was in the local hospital. As a result I was staying at the hotel on a day by day basis and was in 3 different rooms over a period of 6 days. All of the rooms were very good. Very clean and comfortable. Beds very comfortable and great walk in showers. The first room I was in had a fantastic view over the beach (photo from room attached). Restaurant was very art deco (photo attached). Staff were really pleasant and helpful with my situation. Breakfast was very good with a good choice. I had one evening meal in the restaurant which again, was very good. I would definitely be happy to stay here again, although hopefully under better circumstances Nothing negative to say. All good

Booked the suite and it was a wow as you opened the door. It had a balcony which we used a lot sat out there and just listened to the sea and watched the world just pass us by very relaxing. Had a problem with the air conditioning in our room which unfortunately couldn’t be fixed during our stay

We booked this as our honeymoon night and were not disappointed. Shame we didn't book for longer!!! The fact that we didn't book for another night so we could explore a bit more and use the spa bath again!!!
