Guest Reviews
- Cathy_et_Phil (8/5): - Marcos est très gentil et accueillant
Le petit déjeuner Piscine à entretenir
Oreillers pas identiques. L'un des 2 n'était pas souple.
- Brigitte (8/5): Tolle Lage jn charmantem ambiente - Super Lage. Sehr zentral.

- Helm (9/5): Great stay in a classic old and historic hotel! - Classic old boutique hotel in the heart of Rethymno old town with a very friendly and helpful staff! Hard to get luggage to the Hotel as no vehicle access to the beautiful small and pedestrian streets of Rethymno old town.
- Alexandros (10/5): -
- Véronique (6/5): Hôtel correct un peu vieillot, salle de bain à revoir - Petit déjeuner correct La salle de bain est trop étroite , la chambre sombre avec un plafond marron et de gros rideaux anciens
- Christiane (8/5): Schönes Haus in toller Lage - Ein schönes Haus in toller Altstadtlage.

- HAIM (9/5): Very nice place in the middle of the old town - Good location in the old city. Lovely Markus in the reception. There is a small pool in the back yard. Gave us big beach towels. Good shower We had a lot of stairs to our suite. The decoration is a bit heavy
- Vytautas (10/5): - Viskas labai patiko, puiki vieta, gražūs apartamentai, skanūs pusryčiai, ir puikus aptarnavimas, ačiū!
- Benedicte (9/5): I would go back there - The location right in the middle of town without the noise, the amazingly friendly staff (they dealt really well with our little disappointment upon check-in), the building itself, the breakfast, the little pool at the back, the lovely rooms Nothing
- konstantinos (10/5): - Everything was great!Delicious breakfast, cleanliness. Extremely tasteful decoration, fantastic location!
The two ladies at the reception were excellent and Markos was truly unique!
- JOSE LUIS (9/5): -

- MARCO (10/5): -
- Mark (9/5): Superb - Got a great deal at late notice for our one-night stay while travelling through Crete.
The rooms and building itself are remarkable and it's right at the heart of the old town in a great location.
Breakfast was plentiful and the small but often quiet pool area was a real bonus.
We got a great welcome and were really well looked after by the brilliant Marcos.
- Philip (7/5): Definitely not 5 stars, some updating needed staff were very friendly especially Marcos. - Fantastic location , friendly staff, nice breakfast although basic. Definitely not 5 star, dark interior in bedroom, not enough lighting when getting ready, hairdryer 😂so dated couldn’t use as got too hot, sunbeds around pool were rotten need replacing,
- Φραγκιά (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deborah (9/5): Would have given all 10’s except for the tv. Our concierge, Marcos, deserves a million stars! He’s fabulous. - Elegant well appointed hotel in the middle of old town. Beautiful room with balcony and very comfortable four poster bed. Breakfasts were amazing. The best though? The super fantastic concierge, Marcos. An absolute pleasure. Only one tv channel in English - there’s only so much BBC 1 news you can watch!
- Branimira (9/5): Superb -
- Nancy (10/5): Exceptional - This is a wonderful, quiet, beautiful hotel in the old city. It is a centuries old Venetian mansion with a pool! The property host, Marco was charming and a joy. The only thing was the lighting in the room was quite dim. Perfect for ambiance but not great when you are trying to find your stuff
- Karen (10/5): Absolutely gem! - The staff here are phenomenal - so friendly and welcoming, they really can't do enough for you. The hotel itself feels very special, set in a 19th century merchant home. It is comfortable whilst retaining the features of an historic building. An excellent breakfast is included and it sets you up for the day. We have a suite with a balcony overlooking the busy street and whilst you get the expected noise, soundproofing is good so it is not disruptive at all. The courtyard pool area is lovely, with a pool that is adequate for cooling off in. Would highly recommend. The pool area is not huge but much of the area is given over to table and chairs. There are only 4 sunbeds and two of these were always in the shade. They were good quality wooden ones so not easy to move. A few less tables and more sunbeds please!
- Heather (1/5): Taken somewhere else by staff - We showed up to the property and were taken somewhere else by the staff which had very different amenities and rooms…. Please can I have my money back? Very criminal situation. We showed up to the property and were taken somewhere else by the staff which had very different amenities and rooms…. - Angie (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful place and great location. The staff was excellent and very friendly. Would definitely come back .
- Aydie (10/5): Living the Rethymno old city vibe - The architecture and design is spectacular. You actually feel the vibe of the old city within the city. Place is central to everything yet quiet enough to relax and enjoy. All amenities were great and the stuff was absolutely amazing. Very helpful. Breakfast was also very nice
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional - Our stay was completely perfect. The room was stunning and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Nothing. We wouldn't hesitate to come bacm
- Marios (10/5): Perfect option inside the city center - Very polite and helpful staff
Perfect location inside the city center
Clean, big and beautiful rooms with balcony and view to the paved street
The hydromassage pool is a great way to relax
Breakfast is good with different local options No parking available. You have to park outside the city center and walk to the location (about 5-10 mins depending on where you park)
- Ivana (10/5): Ivana, August 2024 - The place was very nice, located in the city centre (old town), where are restaurants, bars and shops. It was clean and comfortable, food was good. Most amazing thing about it is staff. Marco, Alexandra and Vaso were so professional, but friendly. Always happy to help. 🥰
- Evelyn (8/5): Central, majestic property . - Location and staff. Breakfast was great . Decoration and look of the property was beautiful. Pool was really relaxing too. Our bathroom was a little awkward (very small) and water pressure very slight.
- Trevor (9/5): Superb - Location, architecture, high ceilings, lift. Insufficient sun beds., poor bar, no pool bar.
- Naomi (8/5): Very good - The hotel was stunning and beautifully restored. Excellent location. The hotel is a bit tired. Electrical and plumbing works probably need to be upgraded.
- Simone (10/5): Exceptional - Staff is exquisite: patient, kind and always smiling no matter what
- David (10/5): A wonderful stay in a great hotel. - Breakfast was extremely good. The location was central to the town. The hotel was superb. Not applicable. All was exceptional.
- George (8/5): Very good - I would love to have fresh juice instead of bottled
- Gavriil (10/5): Exceptional - Comfortable accommodations, a delicious breakfast, and friendly staff. There was only one waste container in the designated area.

- Samuel (8/5): Very good - Location, staff, decor No parking and any guidance to where we could park, prior to arrival.
- Antonia (10/5): Very cosy, romantic hotel in the heart of the old city - In the heart of the old city, traditional rooms, romantic style Very small breakfast area (but not an issue as you can take breakfast in your room)
- Croughan (8/5): Very good -
- Nicola (10/5): Absolutely fabulous - What a hidden gem, an authentic hotel with just the kindest most hospitable staff you could wish to meet A very tiny thing but a proper hair dryer would have been fantastic.
- Craig (9/5): Superb - Beautiful room and pretty little hotel. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Great location and outstanding value for money. Breakfast was delicious. Shower was a tight squeeze.
- Sanja (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erran (7/5): Town is wonderful and this location of hotel is perfect to explore. The staff went above and beyond. - Breakfast great, location excellent, Staff wonderful Just a little maintenance needed at the pool.
- Pentaraki (9/5): Superb - Very warm place & warm stuff
Location is in the heart of old town
Quiet
Nice breakfast
Comfortable bed
Very clean
Perfect to relax
- Chrysanthi (10/5): the stay in the suites was unique! great service, friendly and happy hosts, incredible cleanliness and very tasty breakf -
- Sam (9/5): Fabulous hideaway in a bustling town - A beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of the old town. Close to everything, with beautiful facilities. We had an executive suite with balcony. A superb, large room with an anteroom containing desk and sofa, where my early bird husband was able to spend time first thing in the morning. Very good soundproofing. Very good, large bed and linens. Daily room cleaning. Two bottles of water supplied each day. Ice available from reception. Excellent breakfast and very friendly, helpful staff. Very good English spoken. Good WiFi. We loved it there. Difficult to reach by car, and Google maps has no clue how to get you there! Many streets are one-way. Many streets are no through roads. The phone number supplied on Booking.com is for the larger hotel by the same hotel chain, so calls do not come through direct to the Antica Dimora. Best to park near the town gardens just outside the old town for 5 Euros per day. Or, leave the car by the Venetian castle where there is free parking overlooking the sea and walk 10 mins.
- Andrew (9/5): Highly recommend and would love to return - Location superb, right in the heart of the old town surrounded by shops and restaurants.
Huge room which was very comfortable if a bit warm .
Great choice for breakfast although the later the breakfast some items ran out Better air con
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional - Fabulous find, perfect location.
Staff were amazing when above and beyond to make our stay perfect Didn't realise pool wouldn't be open
- Υρώ (8/5): Very good - it was a little bit dirty ! there were chips in the bed under the pillows and the blanket
- Drew (8/5): lux aesthetics and wonderful staff, central location - beautiful hotel, bit special and glam and despite having a few glitches ( air con & room key didn’t work) the staff did everything to help us. Big breakfast on offer and an historic spot. fantastic location. some things need maintenance- the pool needs a clean and the jets and outdoor shower needs repair. the pool is much smaller than pictures suggest.
- David (9/5): Superb - Great location, friendly & helpful staff. Beautifully restored building.
- Yiannis (7/5): Good - The phone number in the communication email was not correct. In the description available parking was mentioned, but was not the case!
- Tarryn (8/5): Very good - Lovely staff - very helpful and attentive; great location in old town; reasonable value; excellent selection of food at breakfast; pool provides nice relaxation area
