Guest Reviews
- Matic (10/5): Amazing - Amazing location - not in the city center, but inbetween locals and closer to the most important landmarks - valley of kings and so on. Check-in was simple, the owner is super nice and he helped us with everything (where to eat, how to book taxis …) and also the staff was really helpful and friendly. Breakfast is on a nice terrace and you can see hot air balloons in the morning, we loved it a lot. The closest local shop is 400m away, so there is no trouble getting snacks in the afternoon 🤭 Bed was comfortable and the room was very spacious. We also loved that every room has quite a big fridge in it (not the small ones in Europe, which are already full of “mini bar” drinks and snacks).
- Claudio (7/5): BUENO - LAS INSTALACIONES ERAN BUENAS EL BAÑO DE MI HABITACION SE PASABA EL AGUA Y SE MOJABA COMPLETAMENTE, INCLUSO SIN USAR LA DUCHA

- Ashis (1/5): Creepy Hotel - The only thing good about this place was the water they provided free of cost! Apparently this place is sold out throughout the year, I highly doubt that. The 3 night we chose to stay here, there was no other bookings and it got really creepy in the nights. The location is deserted with no shops around. The manager Abdullah had an attitude that was extremely offputting. We struggled to get any food - the manager drove us to the same restaurant (Happy Farm) for lunch, dinner and trust me the restaurant had the most limited items available. We were at his mercy with no option to select another one. The breakfast included is the saddest one I've ever come across - so don't even look forward to that. I would refrain from booking this place if you are visiting Luxor for the first time as getting anything from this location is a hassle. Not recommended stay.

Kesinlikle deneyin. Her şey güzeldi.

- Sebastián (10/5): Don’t think twice, this place is amazing - Just good things to say about this hotel. Just amazing, staff was absolutely kind and helped us in everything. They even changed their breakfast time for us, so we can go on tours 🫶 Main entrance, the living and the Pool we’re pretty comfortable, really noche and clean. Great thing about its location is that is quiet and also it’s on the west side where most valleys and temples are. Nothing, don’t doubt about booking this hotel
- Roberto (10/5): -

- Yennia (7/5): meh - Good appareance Bathrooms very uncomfortable, bed very small, location not recommedable and everything is extra cost.
- Gina (7/5): Good -
- Sattianandame (9/5): Superb - Friendly and helpful staff
Nice location
- Amara (8/5): Very good - The hotel was clean, cozy, and very comfortable. It’s small and charming, with a peaceful vibe. Run by a local family, it feels personal and welcoming. Great value for the price. It’s not in the center, but with Uber or InDrive, it’s easy enough to get around. The family tries a bit too hard sometimes, which can feel awkward or overwhelming. They also close the hotel at midnight, so it’s not ideal if you stay out late. Their tours and activities are overpriced — it’s better to plan those on your own.
- Imad (8/5): Would not choose another hotel when visiting Luxor again - It is a nice and cozy hotel with caring personnel and an amazing view from the rooftop lounge area.
When in need of trips or tips, be sure to ask Abdallah who works there as he was a great help for us during our stay in Luxor.
- Emma (10/5): Much appreciated this hospitable oasis of calm during a busy trip - We had a really wonderful few days here. Abdullah looked after us and even gave my sis a birthday gift on our arrival!
He showed us where the local supermarket and restaurant is and nothing was too much trouble. the location was tranquil and Egyptian suburban, the garden was enclosed and floral and the swimming pool, ah the swimming pool! it was discreetly tucked around a corner, open 24/7 cold luscious water was pumped in daily and a nice size. My sister enjoyed the meditation room and breakfast on the roof terrace was delicious. nothing
- Manpreet (8/5): Very good -
- Marian (10/5): Exceptional - This hotel is beautiful, it has a lovely rooftop dining area for breakfast with a great view. Our bedroom had nice sitting area. It has a garden and a pool. The architecture is gorgeous. And the staff are all great. Highly recommend!
- Tito (10/5): Excellent place to stay. - The location is very close to the valley of the kings and queens, the balloon ride place and close to Luxor. Ad sweet pastry to the breakfast, maybe the can provide or rent a power adapter to charge your phone .
- Rupam (9/5): Amazing!! Enjoyed our stay. - Good property! Peacefully blessed. Great staff! Kind people. Nothing like that.
- Nathalie (8/5): Quiet ,relaxing stay in a bustling tourist destination - Super relaxing and cozy small hotel on the westbank. Great starting point for the Valley of Kings.
The garden and breakfast terrace were amazing, big rooms and comfy beds.
The staff were super helpful, organized two very tasty Egyptian meals for us.
It is in a quiet neighbourhood though, so not much to explore in the immediate surroundings.
- Grace (10/5): A very relaxing stay - The location was just less than 20mins away from the airport and it is near the Valley of the Kings. You can also have a view of the hot air balloon from their balcony at the top.
- Pui (10/5): Top notch hospitality! - A true oasis located at the quiet side of Luxor, very close to the valley of the kings. The pick up service from the airport was seamless! The property itself is serene with a nice garden, roof top (can see the hot air balloon in the morning ) and even a meditation room. The room was clean and spacious, and was cleaned everyday during our stay! Breakfast was simple but enough for a quick bite !
The best part is the service, the hotel owner is a very sincere man and try to make sure everything is perfect for the guest! The manager Abdalah is the star of the hotel, he helped us arrange everything in Luxor including Felucca, hot-air balloon, in house dinner and a farm lunch, also transportation to Aswan, all with great flexibilities and super fair price (compared to online platforms)! We really can’t thank them enough for such great hospitality without hassles or stress, the best we’ve got in Egypt!
Additionally, “In-Drive” is a great app to call for car to go to other places in Luxor from this property so staying on the west side had no problem to us ! NOTHING! Absolutely 100% recommend!
- Shimeng (7/5): Good -
- Hisashi (9/5): Superb - Very spacious and comfortable room. They prepared dinner for us on the first day, and we were very impressed with their potato tagine, which was very tasty and cheap. The bathroom almost always smelled bad coming out of the drain.
- Simisha (9/5): Superb - It's a serene place, quiet, beautiful gardens. Rooms were nice and large. Area is quite and Very clean. Away from hussle and bustle. Beautiful views of the mountains and hot air balloons. No WiFi in the rooms.
Cold breakfast consisting of cold breads, processed cheese and 1 boiled egg
Felt the springs on the mattress
- Mirko (10/5): Exceptional - A nice place to relax, it has a meditation room, the guys are very helpful especially Abdallah made our stay wonderful, good food Nothing
- Jheelum (9/5): Superb - If you’re searching for a stay that combines comfort, cleanliness, and convenience, this property is a solid choice, offering a unique touch that sets it apart.
• Breakfast: While the breakfast options might not be extensive, the terrace view makes up for it. Starting the day with such a serene and picturesque setting is a treat in itself.
• Rooms and Cleanliness: The spacious rooms and clean, well-maintained washrooms make the stay comfortable and stress-free. Attention to cleanliness is evident, which is always a major plus.
• Location: The property is ideally located near all major attractions of the West Bank. Whether you’re sightseeing or exploring the area, you’ll appreciate the convenience of its proximity to key spots.
• Overall Experience: I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. The combination of a tranquil atmosphere, good facilities, and a prime location makes it a place I’d recommend to others looking for a pleasant and convenient stay.
This property may not offer a wide variety of breakfast options, but it excels in providing a clean, spacious, and well-located retreat with a view that’s hard to beat!
- Vagees (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ndoro (9/5): Beautiful. You can watch the hot air balloons in the morning by the balcony - Basic nothing fancy Could be better
- Passaseo (10/5): Exceptional - Ali and his family are fantastic hosts, they helped us with anything we needed and recommended services and experiences near Luxor.
We highly recommend their dinner: all the food is prepared by Ali's mother and it's very typical and delicious, also I am vegan and they were very kind to offer me a vegan meal (buonissimo!) and the view by the terrace is something incredible...
Janat Elsahara Hotel is not just a hotel, it feels like family.
- Magmarmag (10/5): Best stay in Luxor - Staying at Janat was such a great experience, not only is the hotel beautiful and clean, the family that owns it is so helpful, honest, and kind. We were nervous with all the stories we've heard about travelling in Egypt but you can feel confident you will be well taken care of here and treated honestly and fairly.
The grounds are very well taken care of, and we went out and walked around the area and felt safe.
The dinners are delicious, definitely recommend! And the view is beautiful from the sitting area!
Shout out to Abdul for making us feel like family! Nothing, everything was great!
- Muhammad (10/5): It was wonderful time , I am Indian and my husband Egyptian we visited Luxor for 3 days and stayed at this amazing place - Staff is very welcoming and helpful , place is between the mountains and beautiful view . Clean and amazing place to stay
- Heathet (8/5): Lovely place & people but no easy access to other places. - Style, views, staff, evening meal Lack of access to places to eat, or tourist group trips. No other guests! The only way to get any where was by paying for hotel transport or local taxi & as a solo traveller this is expensive
- Carl (9/5): Good value for money friendly family operated hotel. - Large room, nice roof terrace, we had the pool area for ourself. We could watch the hot air balloons from the room and roof terrace. The family who own an run the hotel are so friendly and helpful. For dinner they prepared the best food we have had during our stay in Egypt. The shower lack door or curtain son the bathroom floor get wet. The is a disturbing noice from the plumbing installation every time anybody flush the toilet or open a faucet. Sometimes a bad smell comes out from the bathroom floor drain.
- Gonzalo (10/5): Exceptional - Ashraf & Abdallah made us feel home. You can book best dinner at the hotel. They can help you with transfers and tour.
Inshalla I will be back
- Fujiliyan (9/5): Highly valued stay - Hotel is well estalished and the facility is pretty new. The room is alao cleaned every day and the owner is really welcome to the customers. The location is hard to find a taxi the near area looks like a ruins. But the hotel is near to the valley of the kings which is good to visit.
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional - We enjoy the beautiful view from the rooftop. Rooms cleans and confortable. We love the decoration and architecture. Stuff very friendly It was a little far away from everything
- Patrick (9/5): Superb - Delicious food and warm environment that felt us like in a family.
Rooftop restaurant's view and ground floor swimming pool Noisy ceiling fan
- Krisztina (7/5): Very nice and hospitable stay - The owner and his sons were very hospitable, nice. They did private transfer for us, taking us for shopping and to the airport. The dinner ordered were also very tasty and nice. It was a cosy family style hotel with a nice pool, good for family and friend travels. The bathroom was very old, it was clean, but facilities were old. There were also giant ants on the floor.
- Steeve (10/5): Un jardin du paradis 😍 - We had an incredible stay at this establishment! The owner and now my friend Ali was extremely helpful and always available to meet our needs. Thanks to him, we felt right at home. The pool was exceptionally clean, and the food was the best we have eaten in Egypt. The hospitality and kindness of Ali made our stay unforgettable. We highly recommend this place and will definitely return with great pleasure.
- Nathaniel (10/5): Low stress comfortable place in a quiet neighborhood - Very good experience. The pool was cool even though it was 1,000 degrees outside, the dinners (for an extra cost) were among the best we had in Egypt. No stress experience and fair prices on the tours and such offered.
- Dzmitry (10/5): Great place to stay - Wonderful place to stay in Luxor. The owner and his family were very kind and helpful. The garden and the pool look fantastic. The rooms are fine, bathroom may need some renovation but it's fine nevertheless. The meal was great too - simple, but tasty: my first day in Luxor was the 6th one in Egypt (after Cairo) - this was the first day I actually enjoyed a dinner during my trip.
I really recommend to let them arrange your pickup from the airport (and ask them for driving you around the town / landmarks later if you need), this will be much cheaper and more comfortable.
- Kathleen (8/5): Very hospitable place to stay. You’re treated like family. - The owner, Askra, and son, Abbdulla, were wonderful hosts. They made sure we were comfortable and had whatever we needed. The room was very spacious and quiet. The pool is nice and clean. I especially liked their upstairs dining area, great views and good food. The garden was beautiful too. It was a little “out of the way”, but that made it quiet.
- Catherine (9/5): Felt like a home away from home - The whole family were so welcoming and helpful. They went out of their way to make us feel at home there.
- Menna (10/5): amazing - very cozy and mr ashraf the lodge owner was super nice nothing
- Marc (10/5): Exceptional - Our time at the Desert Paradise Lodge was exactly what we needed in Luxor. It was an oasis of honesty and comfort in a desert of chaos and incessant offers and haggling opportunities. Ashraf, his sons (Ali and Hassan) and all the staff were welcoming and over the top accommodating. They started our day with a simple, tasty and filling breakfast every morning, helped us navigate the wonders of Luxor during the day and provided wonderful traditional meals in the evening all at a more than fair price. No negotiation necessary, just upfront refreshing honesty.
Desert Paradise Lodge itself was cozy and inviting. The rooms were spacious, the garden peaceful, the swimming pool clean and well maintained, and plenty of options for sitting out in the fresh air and just relaxing in the evening breeze to unwind. By the time we left we felt like we were leaving family. I know where I am staying any time I am in Luxor.
Thanks Ashraf, Ali, Hassan and the entire staff, Luxor would not have been nearly as magical without them.
