Guest Reviews
- seth (10/5): - Fantastic accommodation, great facilities, very clean and comfortable.
- Craig (10/5): Fantastic - Lovely sun room

Very clean
Great location Nothing
- Paul (10/5): Cosy cottage, I that name hits the nail on the head! Fantastic … ! Heather cosy cottage has to be one of the best place - Excellent Location, finished to a very high standard. Nothing
- Melanie (9/5): Super Ausstattung, schöne Lage - Super schöne Ausstattung wirklich alles was man braucht.
Sehr süß eingerichtet und die Lage ist sehr gut.
Auch die Gastgeberin hat sehr nett und sympathisch kommuniziert. Nichts :)
- Tina (10/5): Spent a lovely new year break in beautiful Ashbourne. - The cottage was very well equipped with everything we needed. It was very cosy and comfortable. Nothing, it was perfect for our needs.
- Noel (10/5): - A lovely little house which makes excellent use of available space and is very comfortable and charming. It is very well stocked with equipment and everything has been arranged in the best of taste. It is very conveniently situated for shops, supermarkets, pubs, restaurants and churches. There is adequate parking space. Well suited to the single traveller, a couple or a family with two children. At 69 (almost 70) I managed the rather steep staircase perfectly well, but a older or more frail person might not. They might also have to be careful of the step at the front door.

- Gemma (10/5): Wonderful cottage, great location - Lovely cottage with a fantastic location just next to town and a Sainsburys. Great to have parking just outside. We were a couple and a friend and we all had a few good night's sleep and were very comfortable. The dining room is great for meals or just chilling out in front of a film. The shower is great and can't think of any improvements at all! You can see that a lot of love has gone into this cottage, it is wonderful. Totally recommend. We ate out at Star Anise, an Indian restaurant very close by and it was delicious. Would definitely stay again. No issues
- Kevin (9/5): Excellent cottage. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again! - Excellent location and great value for money.
The cottage is lovely. Very close to the centre where there are plenty of shops, a supermarket and places to eat and drink.
The cottage was immaculately clean, and plenty of top touches by the owners, not least the welcoming brownies for us, and treats for our dog! Great owners who are very friendly and clearly care about the cottage and want people's stay to be the best.
Plenty of on street parking available which is really handy. Only a few things which are out of the owners control. The cottage is quite dark inside due to the tall trees opposite the front of the house. An extension has been added to the rear of the property though, which is very light and airy, and a lovely place to enjoy
The stairs to the upstairs are very steep. It was fine for us but would be wary if anyone elderly were to stop here.
- Stuart (10/5): Relaxing and great base for the Peak District - Everything needed was available. Very close to town centre.
- Adele (10/5): Exceptional -
- Claire (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (10/5): Charming Cottage, We would definitely stay again - Lovely Cottage with a real homely feel to it. The charming town centre is only a five to ten minute walk away and is home to done cute shops and coffee bars.
We would definitely stay again. Nothing.

We was welcomed and had a lovely chat Absolutely nothing not to like
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (9/5): Lovely cottage for a short break. - Immaculately presented with lots of amenities on hand such. Lovely touches like coffee and tea. Excellent location as a short walk into town centre. We would definitely return. Nothing really
- Megan (10/5): Perfect Stay - The cottage was in an excellent location, within walking distance of the centre of Ashbourne with a little one and it was great being able to park right outside. Lovely and helpful hosts who even left a little treat on arrival which was yummy! The cottage was sparkling clean, really well equipped and decorated lovely throughout. The bathroom is nice and modern with a big walk in shower and the beds were really comfy.
We had a great stay here, would highly recommend to all and we hope to return again next time we visit the area.
- Adele (9/5): Third time we've stayed, we'll be back again - Location & facilities. Everything you need is there. Lovely place to escape the hustle and bustle of busy lives
- Kirsty (10/5): 11 out of 10 stars! Would definitely stay again. - The property is so cosy and clean! You can tell there was a lot of care put into this place and it has everything you could need.
- Ellesar (10/5): Perfect: a must stay/rereturn place to stay - Absolutely everything! It was just perfect. We will definitely be back. Cake on arrival, dog blanket and treats for our dog, everything and more than we needed in the kitchen, etc etc - just amazing and made for a fantastic stay. Safety first was everywhere too: stair gates, smoke alarms, locks, safety instructions etc…all really appreciated. Thank you Nothing. It was all perfect.
- Nutt (10/5): Perfect place for a family of 4 - Location to the local town aswell as all the surrounding attractions. Clean, comfortable and tidy, well decorated That we booked not enough time there

- Val (9/5): Superb -
- Adele (9/5): We're going back for another stay - Very relaxing place to spend some time. The cottage is lovely and has just about everything you need for a few days away from home. Hard to think of something to be honest
- Kevin (10/5): Great birthday weekend treat for my wife. - The seating area in the rear room was fantastic, and there was everything we needed in the property. We would certainly revisit this cottage. The steepness of the stairs, but we laughed and joked about them.
- Derek (9/5): Warm, comfortable, well equipped, clean and inviting cottage - The cleanliness was very good the level of equipment was also very good. The location to the town was spot on.
We took our dog and the facilities provided were very good,
We would recommend anyone to stay here and we would stay here again too. Nothing really, the individual steps of the stairs were quite tall but that may just be us, other wise a vey good small cottage ideal for 2 adults or a family with young children.
- Kay (10/5): brilliant cottage, well equipped, attention to detail. Highly recommended - The location was good, in the town but in a residential area Perhaps the bannister could have been extended to go to the top of the stairs as we felt unsteady coming down the first few from the top with nothing to hold on to.
- Burnett (10/5): Cosy Heather Cottage - The cottage was perfect, in a great location with parking. It had everything we needed. Very close to all amenities and great walks. The cottage was spotless and Amanda was very helpful. Nothing the cottage ticked every box.
- Frances (10/5): Exceptional - Home from home. Good location 👌
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Very well equipped! And fantastic location for exploring the Peak District. Hopefully next time we hope to see some of Ashbourne too as it seems a lovely town. N
- Caroline (10/5): Perfect getaway in Ashbourne - Spotlessly clean
Close to centre
Attention to detail and little extras were wonderful
Great hosts Nothing it was perfect 🥰
- Bridget (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful cottage will be back soon Nothing to dislike
- Mike (10/5): Exceptional -
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicola (9/5): Lovely cottage, well located with lots of lovely little touches - Lovely cottage, lots of great little touches, like cakes waiting for you on arrival, blankets folded on the sofas (as a dog owner blankets for sofas are must) treats and bowls for the dog, a welcome book with lots of helpful info including local recommendations and notes on how to get to town, built in child (or doggie) gates on the stairs, and lots more. It’s in a great location with the town centre just a couple of minutes walk away. The owner is lovely and super helpful, the courtyard at the back is really cute, wasn’t dry enough for us to sit out in but I definitely would do when there’s drier weather, great place for your morning coffee! There’s nothing that I’d let influence whether you book here, other than the obvious that the stairs are very steep, if you have any accessibility needs this wouldn’t be a good fit, which is made clear in the listing so shouldn’t be a factor. I’d also recommend taking your own towels for showers/baths. While towels are provided they’re not really big enough for an adult female, or male probably, to wrap around them without showing more than you’d probably like 😂, but taking a towel is hardly an issue. This property is welll worth a stay.
- Sarah (10/5): Brilliant stay! -
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and comfortable. Excellent hosts. Cakes on arrival was a nice touch Parking a bit awkward as road very busy and narrow
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Sun room at the rear of the property, the outside decking area and location close to Ashbourne's amenities
- Lynn (10/5): perfect accommodation in an area where there’s plenty to do. Very clean and welcoming with everything you need. Dog frie - location, well equipped, dog friendly
- Pek86 (10/5): Gorgeous family friendly cottage - Spotlessly clean, very comfortable, convenient parking, and some lovely extra touches including some chocolate biscuits and miscellar water - thank you! Stair gates were a godsend with a mischievous toddler. Great location too, with almost everything you could want on your doorstep. 20ish minutes to Alton Towers. We will definitely come back! Nothing!
- Julie (10/5): A little gem in the Peak District! Lovely cottage in a great location - Heather cottage is a beauty. It has everything you need & more. Very clean, tidy & comfortable. All what you want & dog friendly 😊 Cannot fault anything.
- Richard (10/5): was nice to stay in a warm and cosy cottage - location was spot on the cottage had everything u needed would book again . its only a few minutes walk to the centre there was nothing i did not like everything was perfect
- James (10/5): Warm, a welcoming and informative host, a great location - The property was cosy, clean and is sitting in a great location, not just for Ashbourne but the surrounding towns and villages too. Nothing at all, the property was perfect for any couple or small family.
- Thomas (9/5): Superb -
