Guest Reviews
- Syed (10/5): - Nice and comfortable, superb location. Nothing
- Suzi safiza (9/5): -
- Zuraidah (10/5): - Remain authentic and peaceful. My kids love so much
- Ariyal (9/5): Enjoy our stay! Beautiful place! - The house is beautifully decorated and comfortable, comes with filtered water dispenser (hot & cold). Host is nice and responsive and parking lots are provided. Still needs to walk quite a bit to Jonker and not easy for the elderly. Mosquitoes are always there.
- Shaiful (5/5): - The house its self, very homie Sewer smell on the first level during my stays
- naazniza (10/5): -
- Kamarul Fahmi (7/5): - Nice house. Clean. Huge. No swimming pool.

- Llin33 (10/5): Exceptional - Very beautiful property in an ideal location Everything was good
- Kate (7/5): Lovely house- bit spoiled by the noisy environment. - Stylish historic property with elegant architectural features. Good showers etc and comfortable furniture. Near the historic centre of Melaka. Very clean. Construction noise from the next door property 7.30 in the morning until 7 in the evening made it difficult to relax in the house. The air conditioning upstairs was not adequate.
- Beatrice (10/5): Exceptional - The place is cozy and really leisurely to stay. And also surprisingly very close to Jonker street. It is a really nice place to stay if you are bringing the whole family or lots of ppl coming around. But overall the place is really nice to stay. Would recommend to my friends if coming over to Malacca again. Too few fans inside the rooms especially upstairs rooms. The ground floor room bedsheet has a little problem such as a bed bug. And also need to lock the back door with a padlock to give security to guests. Like my aunt feels insecure because the back door wasn't locked with a padlock.
- Li-yu (9/5): Superb - Super nice place
We have a fun time. : )
- Domenica (7/5): Enjoyable stay - Great host - very helpful. Location was perfect. Very comfortable for our family of 7 Only suggestion was how to work the hot water in the shower - took us a while to work it out.
- Kee (10/5): Exceptional - My friends really like the place, nicely done up.
- Li (7/5): A lovely and comfortable place to enjoy a relax holiday with family & friends. - Stay here for 2 nights. Located in a quiet neighborhood with no shops around. Nearest eateries & shops is about 15-20min walk. So we used Grab service (very affordable) to go around. The unit is refurbished from an old house, but is nicely decorated and very clean with 2 spacious bedrooms on the upper floor (wooden flooring). Bedroom at ground floor is clean, just enough for 2 adults. Each room has an ensuite toilet/bathroom. One of the room has an open-concept bathroom (with glass panels). Suitable for large group of up to 8 adults. Smart TV in living room has Netflix for us to watch movies every night since there wasn't much to do around the area. The hot & cold water filter dispenser in kitchenette is really convenient for refilling water bottles daily. Didn't meet the property owner throughout our stay but they were prompt in replying our messages via Whatsapp. Elderly persons are advise to stay on the ground floor bedroom cos the stairs are quite steep (due to old design). There're mozzies in the house & bedroom even the whole house is air-conditioned with closed doors & windows. Will be good to provide insect repellents or install electric insect repellers around the house. Will also be good to have a microwave oven to heat up food which we bought for supper.
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good -
- Yi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jill (7/5): It only meets expection. - The collection of key was easy & the closeness to Jonker street . The 3 rooms are ensuite but the big room can accommodate 5 person , at times there is lack of toilet to use . Maybe can consider to convert the storeroom to powder room . Thank you .
- How (9/5): Superb -
- Anita (8/5): Very good -
- Bunyamin (9/5): Superb -
- Sasirekha (8/5): Very good -
- Aznida (8/5): Comfy stay at nicely refurbished heritage shophouse - The house was very clean and nicely decorated. The location is very convenient, within walking distance to Jonker Walk and, it is actually at the side of A Famosa so if the Malay Palace gallery is opening its gate, you can just walk across to A Famosa, Dataran Pahlawan, etc in just 7 mins.
The rooms were very nice and spacious. I like the interior so much. As an info to others, there are 3 rooms, 1 downstairs, 2 upstairs. Room 1 (downstairs) - 1 queen bed, Room 2 - 2 queen beds (saw extra mattress too), Master bedroom - 1 queen bed. All bedrooms have got a bathroom. The parking area is a bit undone and dirty with sand and trash. The porch is also quite bare and open, so you can peek into a neighbor's house and vice versa. It will be nice if it is covered with blinds and small plants for more privacy.
I also found that the ground floor room had a strong smell of mold/dampness. I think the smell came from the cleaning closet behind. I would suggest the owner close the hole between the closet and the ground-floor bathroom so the smell does not enter the bedroom.
The owner also sent a video of how to walk from the back door to Jonker Walk. I wouldn't recommend walking this route as the area at the back of the house is quite dirty (as some houses behind were torn down) with construction debris and the ground is not even to walk on.
The water dispenser in the kitchen can't be turned on during my stay.
- Sue (8/5): Charming terrace in prime location. Highly recommend. - Excellent location, walking distance to Jonker St and Dutch Square as well as Malhotra Parade Shopping Mall, but in a quiet neighbourhood. Old world charm in a row of heritage houses, beautiful furnishings, easy parking for two cars outside. Convenient keypad entry. Great beds and linen. Lots of TV options and stable wifi. Would have been great to have a microwave and a little more toilet paper. Mosquitos inside because no fly screens, but needed to open doors because of drain smell in air well.
- Soraya (9/5): Perfect location to explore Melaka Town on foot - Love the interior, really nice space overall. Location was great, walking distance to the major attractions. Plus point is the allocated private parking! The place can get a bit hot during the day. & we were also a bit shocked that the main bathroom had no blinds so it was completely transparent & see through 😅
- Kenneth (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yi (7/5): Good - Clean, comfy beds, bedsheets and toilets, which are key. The water filter machine is very helpful without us consuming bottles of mineral water and creating wastage. The place is newly renovated and is done in a tasteful way. It was actually a nice lovely 10-min walk to the main stretch of Jonker's Street but I really wish there was a better location/GPS accuracy. We took Grab home and ordered food on Grab twice and all 3 drivers couldn't find the shophouse. It was a pouring night, we had to walk out twice to find the poor drivers and were all half-soaked by the time we returned.
Also, we broke a glass and I had taken the initiative to tell the host and paid for it. But I really didn't appreciate that when they found a damaged window shade, they asked us if it was us who damaged it. We didn't even open that window shade and I actually found a photo I took during my room tour when we first checked in and noticed that window shade was already not in good condition.
- Mjwong (7/5): Good - Clean, nice deco TV not working
- Shafee (7/5): Good -
- Nina (8/5): GREAT! - rooms are so clean , easy to park for 3 cars , spacious and airy environment, stunning interior design , 1 room downstairs and 2 rooms upstairs very accommodate for my parents , kitchen is ready to use, very near to jonker walk, 15-20mins depending on your stamina, nice neighbourhood. everything was so great but only one the toilet in master bedroom was slippery and mosquito at night. But everything are so nice dont worry!
- Daren (9/5): Superb - It was great just living in an old school heritage house. Renovations were done very tastefully while maintaining the old school vibe and history of the house. This is me nitpicking but the stairs were steep but that's just the layout for these heritage buildings.
- Suat (8/5): Very good - The vintage house refurnished. I love the old building, especially the tiles at the living room is great. There are some places to be improved. So far the house is lovely. If coffee provided then would be great and a good hair dryer would be a appreciate.
- Yashimah (9/5): A luvly HOME away from home - Luv how d house is preserved
HOME away from home, so cosy
Very clean, crockeries are new
The owner really take pride in offering d very best to the guest
About 10 mins walk to main attractions which is super convenient The bathroom door is 'see through glass' Prefer frosted
After deposit done, the caretaker took quite a while to release d access code for the door
We had a long drive & already exhausted, so that really ticked us off initially
Otherwise it was a truly luvly vacay home indeed
- Fatin (9/5): Superb - Me and my family had trouble with one of our hotel and I stumbled upon this unit ON THE DAY when we planning to go to Malacca. The unit was initially not yet fully ready but the host was super nice to make it possible within several hours! We were honoured as we were the first customer i believe so they didn't install the wifi yet. But that's the last of our priority. The host was super helpful, walking us through how to get to the unit (with perfect video tutorial) and how to enter the house with key code.
We were in awe when we arrived. The unit was beautiful. It retained the original structure of the house with a modern twist. I love the vibe and the atmosphere of the house, very chic, modern yet traditionally retained. The location was perfect! We were really surprised that it was really really close to the Stadthuys building. it was just a 6-8min walk there! The house was generally clean but maybe because we booked on the day itself, the floor on the ground floor was a bit dusty. There are even towels, basic shower gel and shampoo, water heater for shower, hairdryer, water filter for drinking and complete cutleries for meals with functional fridge and cooking hob. We even met the neighbours and they were super nice and friendly too. We came with 2 big cars but there's perfect two parking spot right in front of the house.
We love our experience with the house and honestly it's such a value for money. I would really recommend it to my friends or my other family members who are planning to go to Malacca. It's a hidden gem, really. Nothing to be honest! Just pointers for improvement would be - provide trash bin because we didn't have a proper place to throw our waste. And maybe can provide one iron to iron our tudung haha. Oh and the toilet doors are transparent - despite appreciating the chic design, maybe can put a blind or something cos sometimes we shy shy to use the toilet haha.
