• Lakshay (9/5): Wonderful stay with an unbeatable location! - The best part about this property is definitely the location — it’s perfectly situated and made getting around incredibly convenient. The room itself was also pretty great: clean, comfortable, and very well-maintained. What truly made our stay special, though, was the staff. Everyone was extremely sweet and welcoming. A special mention to Bishal and Rajesh, who were absolutely amazing and went out of their way to ensure our stay was smooth and memorable. Would definitely recommend and happily stay here again! NA

The owner Raj Bhai and his wife are incredibly warm, humble, and welcoming people who make you feel at home from the very first day. The entire team — Bikash Bhai, Rajan Bhai, didi, and driver Bhairav Bhai — are extremely friendly, supportive, and always ready to help with a smile. Their hospitality is genuine, and you can trust them blindly. A special thanks to Raj Bhai, who personally arranged my entire trip covering Kathmandu and Pokhara, including the mountain flight. Everything was perfectly planned and smoothly executed, which made my trip completely stress-free. If you’re looking for the best place to stay in Kathmandu, managed by honest, caring, and reliable people, Flying Yak is the place. Highly recommended for solo travelers as well as anyone looking for a comfortable and trustworthy stay.
• Pranoti (9/5): Good location, comfortable beds - The location is in main Thamel market. Everything is close by and still the place is not noisy. It has comfortable beds and very helpful and cheery staff. There is no lift. However, staff helped me with my very heavy bags. No complaints. Had a really good stay. NA
• Ralph bosworth (9/5): Nice room and staff who were really helpful. - The room was really good. Clean and good bathroom. Good location just off the main road, so quieter than other spots. The lobby area was not very inviting. It could have offered a bit more for guests in terms of coffee or something. But the restaurant next door makes up for it.

Номер на 6 человек с удобными 2х ярусными кроватями, кондиционером и достаточным количеством розеток для каждого. В номере всегда чисто. Туалет и душ общий в холле. Есть горячая вода, туалетная бумага и мыло для рук - минимальный базовый набор, необходимый для комфортного проживания в отеле. Полотенце выдают по просьбе. Бесплатный wifi. Внимательный и дружественный персонал. Есть возможность оставить вещи после выселения (дважды оставляли, уезжая в поездку).

• Julian (9/5): - The hostel is very well located in the heart of Thamel. The dorms are an adequate size and the beds very comfortable. Each bunk has curtains, a light, charging point and locker. There are only 2 smallish dorms, so you aren't likely to socialise much. The dorms are located on the top floor, which could be a problem if you have a lot of heavy luggage

• José (5/5): Passable - Really great staff and super kind, always asking if we needed something. The coffee served is amazing! We experienced two nights full of loud noises since it's really close to a club. On the second night we felt really unsafe, there was a bigger argument between people outside of the hotel and expanded to inside, reaching a point where we had two people screaming at our door step.

The room was smaller than what it looks like in the picture but very clean and has basic things you need. Overall, we enjoyed our stay here and we thank the staff for helping us book the things we need for our trip in Nepal :)
• Ruby (10/5): Brilliant place - Probably the best place we stayed during our whole time in Nepal. - very clean room, bedding looked obviously fresh and clean, bathroom was also clean - good facilities provided such as AC which also worked as a heater, plugs right by the bed, TV, really good wifi - location of hotel is right in the mix of thamel - staff were friendly and really nice people - hot water was available 24/7 this was a personal highlight after struggling with mostly cold showers throughout Nepal to be able to get hot water at all times was just brilliant Nothing

• Peerapat (6/5): Just a quick place to stay/stop before your next adventure to other places in Kathmandu. - Location is quite convenient within walking distance to main tourist area (Thamel) which you can find many shops, restaurants, money changers etc. The staff also gave us warm greetings and the checkin experince was quite OK (although nothing special). The cleanliness of the room should be improved, especially the floor which looks dirty/ musty. And the room didn't provide slippers for the room so we need to wear our shoes all the time except when we went to bed. And I don't like the way staff tried to sell us tour packages (which are somewhat overpriced). Also I asked the staff if they can find taxi/ cars for us to travel outside the cityafter we checkout and they quote us 4 times normal taxi price (which is already 'tourist' price, not local price). So be careful and do your research first.

• Brooke (9/5): Comfortable stay in Thamel - Located in a very convenient location, making it very easy to walk around Thamel. We stayed in the dorm and it was clean, had curtains which was a bonus and unexpected, linen was clean/comfortable and had lockers. The staff are super warm and friendly and always there to help you if you need. Communication was efficient and fast if needed via whatsapp. Luggage storage is available as well as 24/7 tea and coffee in the foyer. Would recommend for a stay in Thamel- however if your are looking for a more social hostel this may not be what you are looking for. - There is only 1 shower between the 2 dorms (12 people) which if full i could see as a problem however we had no issues - Shower is large as it used to be 2 however the shower head that is currently there is quite poor, i ended up having to use the spout tap to rinse my hair as the pressure was not strong enough. - There is a small seating areas outside of dorms which is great unfortunately however it is a designated smoking area which brings the smell into the dorm rooms, not ideal for us non smokers- would recommend limiting smoking to the roof top.
• Nils (10/5): Pleasant Stay - it was an pleasure stay in the Flying Yak, i actually stayed there for one full Week. they have unlimited free Coffee and Tea and the taste is really good. Also free Water refill. The WiFi is super fast and stable. Its clean and the stuff there is super helpful and friendly. The water pressure of the shower and sink is kinda low, but thats all i have to complain about.
• Jonathan (10/5): Comfortable in the heart of Kathmandu - Raj, Santos, and the rest of the team at Flying Yak work very hard to ensure you have an enjoyable stay in Kathmandu. They will carry your stuff up the stairs, make you a coffee any time, and assist you with any inquiries about trekking or activities. The shower could have been a little bit warmer.

They also offered complimentary tea/coffee 24/7 and the coffee was delicious. They were also quick to respond the second time we stayed and there was an issue with water in the bathroom - quickly resolved I didn't like having to leave :) Nepal and KTM are great. The location of this guesthouse is perfect too.

• Martin (10/5): Comfortable and cozy stay for a reasonable price. - One of the best stays in Nepal for the price. Our room was smaller, but the clever design made it feel spacious and cozy. Friendly staff and free espresso every day was a bonus. The hotel is non-smoking, but some of the guests were smoking anyway.
