Guest Reviews
- mary (9/5): - Great location and very comfortable spacious house. Smart furnishing and stylist decor..
Lots of space for eating and relaxing. Nice to see coffee and tea provided. Outside furniture was a bit dirty and needed cleaning. Not nice to sit on or eat from table.
- moira (9/5): Fun stay - even in chilly February! - The house is lovely - spacious and comfortable. The location, a few steps from the beach, is great. It would have been good to have parking at the house. It was an irritating to have to move the car to another random spot at 8.0 in the morning - and the wardens are actually waiting to catch you out! We were there in February, so relatively easy to find another spot but I wouldn’t like to be doing it in July/August.
A small thing, but there needed to be somewhere for shoes/boots at the door - and hooks for coats - maybe in the utility room?
- Benedict (8/5): Great place to stay. - Great place to stay. So close to the sea. Wonderful! The double bed on the 1st floor was very small and rather too short.
- Lizzy (7/5): Good - This house is perfectly situated, right on the beach. Tons of space inside, could fit more than one large family in here! The kitchen was huge. And two lounges ! Also lovely views from many of the windows. Scampering onto the shingle in the morning and swimming less than a minute from the front door was a treat! The lumpy bed in the master room disappointingly not matched to the rest of the quality. Thought it was a bit mean for an expensive place to not even provide one teabag or a salt cellar. To provide a few basics for cooking… and tea/ coffee would be great. Other places much less fancy I have stayed in by leaving just a few bits to cook with made the experience seem a lot more welcoming and easy.
Bring EVERYTHING if you want to cook in the huge and brilliant kitchen!
- Toby (9/5): Fabulous house, lots of space, so good we have just re-booked! - We are regular visitors to Aldeburgh, and Lyndhurst has been the most impressive property we have stayed at.
Great location and a very well appointed house with spacious accommodation. The building has clearly been recently renovated and decor is modern and tasteful. All appliances and electrics worked 100% No real negatives to speak of, however due the house having been recently refurbished, and is mostly immaculate, there is some wear and tear to the walls on heavy traffic areas such as the stairs and bedrooms. I am sure the owners will address this during the Autumn when the house is not fully booked. We hope so as we have just booked to stay again over New Year! It would also be good to have a larger selection of sharp knives in the kitchen for food preparation, but that is just being fussy.
- Siobhan (9/5): Perfect spot - Spacious, light and bright, well
Located
- Katie (9/5): Really brilliant. Highly recommend. Limited parking options. - Beautiful property, a stone's throw from the beach. Clean. Well equipped. Spacious. Would 100% stay again. Highly recommended. It is as good as the pictures look. Lots of toilets, 2 living areas, utility made a big difference for wet beach stuff. Parking is a problem and played down in the listing hence 9/10 instead of 10. The car park outside is 4 hours a day no return and only has about 12 spaces so is full most of the time. Aldeburgh generally only has 2 hour parking. There are about 20 spaces free parking a seven minute walk away outside the white hotel but these were largely full with other holiday makers and we had to move the cars each morning at 7.30am to get a space. The pay all day car parks are a 20 minute walk away, don't feel like a safe place to leave the car for a week and add considerable expense. Parking is an issue so plan ahead, be prepared for a bit of back and forth and to pay extra or don't bring a car BUT it was worth it for the property as it was wonderful.
