Guest Reviews
- Kata (8/5): We loved this place but it’s not for everyone-only for those looking for something not ordinary - It’s like a magic castle in the middle of nowhere. Plenty of room for at least 6 people.
Kitchen was OK. Hot water and clean sheets.
Uber took us there for 30 GPD, but better if you arrive by car. Hard to find even with the given itinerary.
Very narrow and steep stairs for the 2nd floor, only for fit people .
- Carl (1/5): Bad - It had a roof on it! Microwave hadn’t been cleaned out for about 2 years looking at the state of it, cobwebs in every room, no running hot tap water, missing flooring covered with a rug!
- Stuart (5/5): Lovely looking place, needs some TLC to bring to life - Beautiful building
Good location It needs a good clean (cobwebs in almost every room) the heating clearly not working as there’s portable heaters everywhere. Some taps work some dont(that’s both hot and cold)
The curtains were stained
The bed sheets had stains
Mattresses need replacing
The settees were very old and battered
Some laminate floor pieces missing and covered by a rug…
Could be an exceptional place to stay…
WiFi would be useful but not a deal breaker for us
- Md (7/5): Enjoyable and exciting! - The Havieston Hall is a wonderful place to reside and enjoy the nature of Gorebridge. However, there are some drawbacks. In the second bedroom, we couldn't find any clean duvet or blanket. All the blankets were covered in cat or dog fur. It was really cold, so we had to keep the oil heaters on all night, which was uncomfortable.
- Charlie (8/5): Very good -
- Natalija (9/5): Superb -
- K (4/5): Dissatisfying appartement due to bad maintenance, bad cleaning and noise of a party on the ground fl - Nice old building and spacious appartment Shabby interiors and surroundings. Property was not clean and not well maintained, espec. the kitchen. Very noisy during nights but probably bad luck with other people renting the ground floor for a party. Even if its cheaper then something similar in Edinburgh, it was not worth the money
- Geraldine (8/5): Very good - Was well presented easy to find looked amazing when we pulled up The stairs was a bit uneven and there was alot of spiders
- Abimbola (5/5): I won't try this again - It was comfortable, there was hot running water. Location was a no.
The oven didn't work.
There was no internet
Extremely difficult to get a taxi.
- Rachel (8/5): Very interesting place to stay - Good size space and really interesting building. The showers and electricity didn't always work
- Lou (10/5): Exceptional - Had such a lovely stay with my family and our dog 🐕 was her first time away she loved the grounds so much space and very homily will definitely be booking again ❤️
- Ashish (8/5): Very good -
- Williamson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ross (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cecile (10/5): A lovely place to stay, clean and spacious. - It was spacious and clean, the washing machine and tumble dryer were a big plus!
Plenty of space to park too, and easy access to Edinburgh, either by car or the train station located about 5 minutes drive away.
We loved staying in this property, felt like we were in a little castle, it was great. Couldn’t use the tv, the remote wasn’t working and even turning it on from the actual tv didn’t solve the issue, nothing came on, we got a black screen. Not a massive issue though.
Also the lack of Wifi but that was entirely my fault as it did say so on the listing and I hadn’t noticed.
- Mark (8/5): Very good - A blokes mtb trip so spot on for that. No hot water from sinks.
- Martynas (10/5): Exceptional - very spacious apartments , good location , very clean. like everything
