- Hanna (1/5): - The property itself was beautiful and in a convenient location but we wish that the environment was more habitable in order to have a comfortable stay. Very humid inside, damp sheets, visible mold on kitchen utensils and odor of mold all over the first and second floor. Fortunately, the owner was understanding allowed us to cancel the booking immediately after we entered the hotel since my partner has asthma and although the property was pretty it was a major health concern for us to stay. We got a partial refund and not a full one.
- Rob (7/5): - Great location with easy airport & ferry links
Plenty of excellent places to eat not as busy as other places Steps stairs & more steps
- Joseph (8/5): With a few changes, could be one of the best apartments in the area - The location, the style of the property The bed, the property needs a good extractor fan in the bathroom to make it less damp, light bulbs replacing, a few more towels (they don’t dry due to the damp)
- Pamela (3/5): Malta is a great place to visit. This property is in an excellent position. - This could be a stunning property. The position is good. The view towards the harbour is great. All facilities really close. Ferry/gondola to Valletta a 15 minute walk, bus stop to Valletta a couple of minutes. Local stores a couple of minutes. Between Autumn and late spring this house is damp, very damp. There are 2 dehumidifier’s which had to be on full time for 48 hours upon arrival to get rid of the smell and the moisture.
The address is NOT 19 but 13.
The property had not been prepared for our stay. The windows were dirty, the outside was covered in weeds. The wine glass reported missing in Oct 2025 as at 9 March 2026 still hadn’t been replaced. The sockets reported not working still don’t. I had communication with the owner concerning the damp and was advised the dehumidifiers were on a timer - as they weren’t on this could not have been the case. Additionally they stated that ‘from October till now I assure you we bought plenty of cutlery. Will check with the housekeeper what happens with guest that stayed there last.’ From the pictures. I swept under the bed and was disgusted by how much dirt was there. This hadn’t been cleaned in weeks. Also under the sofa was dirty, it was too heavy for me to move to clean. The wardrobe left door, 2 of the 3 hinges not working. The shower curtain was mouldy, needs to be treated and washed regularly. A side plate was chipped and needs to be replaced. I weeded out front and washed the widows, it really didn’t take long but any housekeeper could clearly see this. The bed, a sofa bed is not an ideal option but as guests only stay short term it is a solution of sorts. It would benefit from a mattress topper. The box of salt was left in the cupboard. The box was wet, I meant to throw it out-why didn’t the housekeeper?
This place is clearly a ‘cash cow’ as most of us will not go back so why should the owner make improvements?
I write this as a landlord of a property in the UK. I would be horrified if my property was as poorly presented as this.
- Zsolt (10/5): Fantastic stay in Senglea - The location was perfect, easily accessible and close to Valletta and quiet. Nothing major to dislike.
- paul (6/5): Lovely and quiet house but needs some more comfortable furniture! - Hot showers
Minimalist and peaceful. The bed is very uncomfortable... Change the sofa bed into a real bed and your have a very comfortable house for people to stay and enjoy!
Also some chairs in the bedroom would be an easy fix to aid comfort!
- Magda (10/5): Fantastyczny tydzień - Świetna lokalizacja, mieszkanko w klasycznej lokalnej starej kamienicy daje pojęcie o realiach życia w tej okolicy. Wszystko komfortowe.
- Kristina (10/5): - Puiki lokacija. Galėtų būti plaukų džiovintuvas :)
- Dorothea (3/5): -
- Malgo (7/5): Odrobina prawdziwej Malty - Lokalizacja idealna do poczucia klimatu Malty od strony mniej turystycznej. Trzy kondygnacje połączone kamiennymi schodkami. Kuchnia wyposażona, przestronna łazienka.Klimatyzacja. Wiele małych sklepików, mieszkańcy mili i pomocni.Miejsce dobrze skomunikowane z Valletta i innymi miejscówkami. Możliwość popłynięcia promem do stolicy. Łóżko w pokoju to rozkładana, wąska sofa.
- KERAN JAMES (8/5): great location - the location was superb in a beautiful and historic part of the city and the flat small but very pleasant the bed could have been oriented better so you didn't have to squezze past it to get to the balcony

- Alvaro (10/5): -
- Pauline (4/5): - The only thing I did like was the inside of house was lovely and cool . Kitchen sockets didn't work. Bed was a sofa my daughter and I couldn't sleep on bed sofa . Ants every where . I told staff about sockets but nothing done . Apart from the high stools in kitchen we couldn't get on them to high we had no where to sit . We had to book another hotel on other side of island on first day over 400 euros . Not disabled friendly .it could definitely use fold away chairs to sit outside
- Jerome (10/5): C’était agréable - L’emplacement Rien

- Carl EHV (5/5): Prachtige locatie , appartement valt tegen.
- Olha (8/5): -
- Sam (8/5): - Beautiful location, just a short ferry (or gondola) ride over to Valletta. Clean and welcoming place.
- Rosalia (3/5): -
- Janine (9/5): Superb - We loved staying in Sengelea away from the crowds, near the water and waterfront restaurants. The apartment had all we needed. The bed is a sofa bed but we found it comfortable.
- Athena2025 (9/5): Magical stay in a clean, fully equipped house with an ideal location! - The house is absolutely stunning. It’s located in the charming town of Senglea, which is small but full of character. With just a short 20-minute walk, you can easily cross the bridge and reach Birgu, and from there, take a boat to Valletta, which takes only a few minutes. There’s also a bus stop just 3 minutes from the house, where you can catch bus number 1 (Isla) that will take you to Valletta in about half an hour. In short, it’s easy to get to the “Three Cities,” as the locals call them.
The neighborhood is peaceful and offers a beautiful view of the harbor and the clock tower on the opposite side. It’s close to two stunning Catholic churches and has a variety of small convenience stores nearby.
As for the house, it’s exactly as shown in the pictures! When we arrived, we picked up the keys from a locker, and the place was spotless. The kitchen is fully equipped with an electric stove, fridge, kettle, cooking utensils, some snacks, coffee, and sugar. The apartment also had plenty of towels, pillows, bed linens, an iron, and a hairdryer.
A note: Malta uses British-style plugs, but don’t worry – the house provides special adapters, so you can charge your phone easily, no matter where you’re from.
The only downside is the humidity in the house. But the host had thought ahead and made sure there was either air conditioning or a dehumidifier in every room to keep things comfortable.
The main issue, however, was the bed. It’s a sofa bed that opens up, but it’s too hard and a bit narrow for two people. That’s the one thing I’d change about the accommodation.
Overall, our stay at La Bambina was wonderful, and we’ve already recommended it to friends who are planning to visit Malta! The hard and narrow sofa bed
- Veronique (7/5): Good - Quiet area within walking distance to the bus and ferry to Valetta.
Beautiful view of the marina from the flat. Lovely flat, but spread across 3 levels. Not suitable for people with mobility issues.
No washing machine.
- Vanessa (7/5): Good -
- Matthew (9/5): Gorgeous place to stay in the best location possible - Excellent location
Excellent communication
Wonderfully presented property
Gorgeous bathroom
Traditional Maltese apartment
Close to ferry and restaurants
Lovely view from the balcony.
Lots of storage
Towels
Super comfy pillows
Additional bedding The bed is a sofa bed. I understand the choice due to the multi functionality however personally I feel the room would benefit from a an actually bed as I don't imagine many people will want to be sitting watching TV when your in such a lovely country.
- Marko (10/5): Exceptional - This is actually a house, with the typical Maltese architecture that adds to the overall experience. The accommodation is truly lovely and in a fantastic location. The ferry to Valletta is close by, as well as beautiful, traditional Maltese streets in the surrounding area. The host was excellent, communication was smooth, and check-in was very easy, with instructions provided for key collection, so there’s no need for direct contact with the host, which is especially convenient for late arrivals. Also, the terrace offers a lovely view of the sea. I would highly recommend this accommodation! There aren’t any real downsides, just a small suggestion that could improve the experience. It seems the router is upstairs, so the internet signal is a bit weaker on the ground floor. Also, perhaps adding an armchair or a small couch on the ground floor could increase comfort.
- Zaxa (9/5): Superb -
- Noel (10/5): Home from home - It was in a perfect location beside restaurants, buses, shops and local ferry N/a
- Elissa (9/5): Superb -
- Nikolaos (8/5): Very good -
- Apostolos (8/5): A little treasure in Senglea - A nice place, in a nice location, it gives you the Maltese vibes. Traditional but modern as well! The bed sofa upstairs was not comfortable
(4/5): We were disappointed to find that there was no actual bed, only an adjustable small sofa which was n - Great location Unfortunately, our stay at this Airbnb fell short of our expectations. We were disappointed to find that there was no actual bed, only an adjustable small sofa which was not suitable or comfortable for a couple. Additionally, the space lacked the cozy atmosphere we were hoping for. Overall, our experience was not what we had hoped for. Great location, indeed.
- Isak (9/5): Superb - Great location, easy to find, amazing view from the balcony, a small kitchen I did not use on my short stay but would be a lovely spot to be for a few days and cook your own meals. On a beautiful street and steps from the harbor, less than a minute to multiple restaurants and less than ten minutes walk to be in Birgu or catch the ferry to Valletta. Great value for price. Would definitely stay again. Could have been a bit more comfortable but has everything you need and is in such a great location for exploring which is why I came so, really not a problem for me.
