Guest Reviews
- Helen (10/5): -
- philip (9/5): - really nice home from home.
breakfast perfect, and Davied was a brilliant host, helped me find places etc etc. all great,no complaints what so ever, will definatley stay again.
- Rhys (7/5): No complaints for what I paid - Friendly owner and everything was very clean and working properly. Cheap and cheerful The people next door started talking at midnight after a few drinks and I couldn't close the window because it was too warm but it didn't last too long and the toilet was all the way downstairs not ideal but workable.
- Linda (9/5): - I think this was one of the most comforting moments during my month long trip in Europe because Davide is very kind. I was here with another guest who kind of brought us all together, so I enjoyed being at Iris House. It was interesting hearing perspectives from two people who have lived around this area for awhile. Once I realized being here was like being at home, I settled right in by cooking and doing laundry. Davide cooked some food too, a frittata using some eggs I bought and then vegetables from his fridge.
I think I prefer getting to know a couple people at a time and this was the place for that. The bed was very comfortable.

- Alva (9/5): nice residential area house and you can use everything in common areas, very friendly host - very nice cozy house in a quiet residential area of West Belfast and you can use all the common areas, incl bathroom with bathtub n modern shower head, hot water always available. The host is very nice and kindly allowed me to stay a little longer than normal checkout time which was greatly appreciated. Modern locks on house door and your room, I always felt safe even as lone female traveller. There is a garden and garden furniture which you can use (I didn’t on this short trip), teabags, coffee n vegan milk was provided and there’s a guest fridge where you can store your chilled food if needed. It’s about 35min on foot in a straight line into the city centre which is not too bad, and it’s a nice walk. Would definitely stay again. the key safe locker is located at a very low point on the wall which can be tricky to reach if you carry a shoulder bag and have to bend down.
- George (8/5): 8/10 would recommend if youre a budget traveller - Davide was sound and accommodating. Just a chill normal bloke made us feel welcome.
For the price paid it had a comfy bed and a pretty much anything you would need
Would recommend for a value for money only 30 mins walk from center Lack of WiFi is the only thing I could knock my rating down but it was suggested its coming soon
- MASAYUKI (10/5): 最高! - 落ち着いた住宅街にあり、ホテルは清潔でした。
ホストのDavideもとても親切な方で、温かい気持ちになりました。 なし。
- Christine (9/5): Very hospitable host and interesting location. - Very hospitable host who provided plenty of tourist info. I had a restful stay in an interesting part of Belfast. Thankyou, Davide.

- Aitor (10/5): - Davide is a top guy! 👏👏
- EO (10/5): - He was a gentleman, the place was clean and comfy. I would most certainly return Nothing at all
- Andrew (10/5): A great place to stay when visiting Belfast - Good location . No issues
- Kayhan (6/5): -
- Sze Van (8/5): -
- Sean (10/5): -
- Faloon (10/5): I stayed over night as is was near the hospital where my husband was in icu - The owner was lovely and was very understanding of my needs The smell of smoke
- Stefan (10/5): -

- Ilaria (8/5): -
- ROMAN (8/5): Jest ok - - self check-in
- dostępna kuchnia, salon, ogród
- pokój spoko
- czysto
- łazienka wspólna na dobrym poziomie
- cena ok
- spokojna okolica Kawałek trzeba podejść/podjechać na centrum, dla mnie spoko, ale pewnie nie dla każdego
- Blaise Phelan (10/5): -
- Stranska (8/5): - It was a great stay, just 20 minutes from the centre. For a few euros, you have a pleasant stay without sharing a room with a random person. I have not met the host, but he was lovely and helpful on the phone. Would definitely come again. Some of the towels given to us smelled a little, so we had to use different ones.
- Wing Fai (10/5): A returning customer for sure in the future - The owner, Davide is a very friendly person.
Place is clean, he works in the healthcare sector, always quiet in and out for work. Nothing not to like.
- Serene (6/5): - Only the spot was easy for travelling and room was quite clean and good There were not enough toilet essentials provided, and the shower was leaking from multiple spots. Because the water sprayed in all directions like a 360° shower, the entire bathroom became a mess after use.
- Christopher (9/5): Host was great, very firendly & helpful, good location, good price -
- Patrick (10/5): -
- Marciana da Silva (7/5): For one night sleep was okay - The location and the hostess were very kind. The room wasn’t so clean and the towels very old
- Souza (10/5): Maravilhoso - Atenção e gentileza do anfitrião Davide
- Huaichein (10/5): Can’t be better - Davide and his girlfriend are absolutely friendly and helpful. We are always in good care. Staying here is definitely a plus for this visit.
- Assis (10/5): Amazing - Everything was good, the host Davide very friendly.
- Conor (10/5): Excellent - Everything. Host Davide was very friendly, generous and helpful. Everything was brilliant.
- Dhimiter (10/5): -
- Hashim (9/5): Will be returning again. - Very friendly and helpful host. Good location, close to city centre and good takeaways nearby.
- Mathéa (9/5): Good price-quality ratio - Great communication for any questions
Great location
I appreciated the autonomy to access to the house!
- Philipp (10/5): - Davide best host ever! Nothing
- Kellie (8/5): A quiet and comfortable stay in Belfast - It had plenty of amenities and a lovely view outside and served us perfectly. There were some fruit flys around the house. I’m not sure if it was either from the plants or the bin but that wasn’t very pleasant.
- Márk (10/5): -
- Antonio (8/5): Good value for money. - Good value for money. The host, Davide, was really friendly and helpful. No wifi.
To minimize water splashing, a larger shower screen or curtain would be good in the bathroom
- Jason (10/5): Perfect stay, excellent location, so peaceful and quiet! - So quiet, so peaceful, lovely to sit and have a coffee in the garden in the morning. Davide is a fantastic guy, runs a very professional set up, all your needs are catered to, such a nice guy fully recommend to anyone! 👍🏻
- Lucjan (10/5): - Amazing host , clean house, location just on the spot for the purpose of my journey.
- Naomi (10/5): Lovely and welcoming home in a lively part of Belfast. - Davide is a warm and friendly host, someone who takes a lot of pride in making a welcoming and inviting environment for boarders. Will definitely look to stay here again. It can be a little difficult to park nearby.
Grazie! Tutto ok :)
- Kieran (9/5): - Davide was very kind and lovely. The bed was actually really comfortable. The kitchen has everything you need to be able to cook with good facilities and clean. Bathroom also very clean and good. Pretty easy to get to Boucher playing fields by bus for a concert It's nothing fancy but has everything you need. We stayed for 1 night for a concert at Boucher playing fields and it was good for that. The wifi wasn't working whilst we were there though.
- Laura (7/5): -
- Rachel (10/5): i would definitely recommend to stay here - my room was very cosy, clean and comfortable. the house itself was also very tidy with great facilities. and the host was so kind, organised and catered to all his guests’ needs!
- Ines (10/5): Had a Wonderful Stay! Highly recommended - Had a wonderful Stay in Iris House. Davide was incredibly welcoming and kind, making me feel like at home from the arrival and making the stay comfortable and special with his kindness and thoughtful gestures. The house is lovely and in great location. Would happily stay there again. Highly recommended
- Duansiyu (10/5): - I arrived soo late and the host still showed all of the house. All things are fine, he supposed different languages guide about Belfast or Ireland North. Nothing
- Russell (10/5): Hospitable and convenient to the Gaeltacht quarter. - If you’re looking to stay in the Gaeltacht quarter this is a great place.
- Paul (8/5): Good value for money, and a very nice host. - Davide is very friendly and communicative, and likes to socialise with his guests. The bedrooms are small but comfortable. There is a communal kitchen and living room which guests are encouraged to use. There is only one bathroom, shared with the host and potentially another guest, which is downstairs and through the communal living room. This might put off some people.
- Deivudas (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marius (8/5): Very good - Nice and clean location and Davide was very kind and helpful
- Norbert (9/5): Pleasant stay in a calm area yet close to the center - I had a great stay in Belfast and felt truly at home thanks to Davide. He was incredibly welcoming and flexible, which really helped make my trip smooth and comfortable. The house is spacious, well-equipped, and the room had plenty of space with a very comfortable bed.
The kitchen had everything I needed for cooking, and the bathroom was clean and tidy. There’s also a terrace and a backyard to relax in, which made the stay even more enjoyable. I really appreciated the conversations I had with Davide—it was a pleasure getting to know him.
The house is located in a calm, quiet area, which was perfect for resting in the evenings. It’s only about 7-8 minutes to the bus stop from where you can get to the city center by bus in less then 10 minutes, so getting around was easy. While there aren’t many services in the immediate neighborhood, it didn’t bother me at all. Overall, I had a lovely experience and would happily return.
- Corinachaves (8/5): Very good - The Host is very nice and attentive. The house is nice and everything was as stated. Great breakfast
- Sandeep (10/5): Wonderful stay . Davide the owner is a gem 💎 - Excellent Perfect stay
- Olly (7/5): Friendly host. Not too far to city centre. - Friendly host. He makes all the facilities in his house available.
About a 20-30 minute walk to the city centre. Or 10 minutes via Glider bus route on the Falls Road nearby. Not crazily cheap for what it was.
Feels a bit cosy/intimate sharing all the facilities with the home owner, which isn't for everyone.
- Carol (5/5): Could be much better - Instructions for using keysafe and getting in were straightforward. The host did communicate well.
The use of kitchen was helpful, it was generally clean and tidy, as was the bathroom. I have stayed in a homestay type property before. Unfortunately this one didn't compare well. The host wasn't there to greet me on arrival, they did apologise, but would have been good to have the initial positive start. It did feel strange to arrive with no one in the house.
The bedroom was OK size wise, for one person. It could do with freshening up, although I liked the little painted table.
I didn't unfortunately find the bed comfortable, for me the mattress was past its best, I did not sleep the first night at all. The night started off badly, i had been out for part of the evening, and returned to very loud music from the next door. The host again apologised for this situation.
The kitchen was useful, but the very tired looking scourers for washing up were not great, it's the small things that can count.
Also the bathroom is downstairs, not great to be coming down the stairs at night of you have to go, through the kitchen in your nightwear. Again especially as a female.
This let to me deciding I would be best to change accommodation, in addition the area didn't feel great for a female on their own. This is quite a run down neighbourhood, the garden of the property was quite overgrown, it felt like the place was unkempt and just not that appealing. Not for me anyway!
- Jiyeon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nora (10/5): A warm welcome to Belfast - My favourite place to stay in Belfast. Davide is a wonderful host who will make you feel at home. The rooms are comfortable and clean and it’s very easy and quick to travel to the city centre. Highly recommended if you’d like to explore Belfast and discover hidden gems.
- Paul (9/5): Superb - Davide was an awesome host. He was inclusive and helpful. Made the stay worthwhile.
- Kelvin (10/5): 10/10 - Davide was fast to reply to requests like changing check in times for example. The train station is a short walk from the address. A warm welcome upon arrival from Davide. The property is a well kept home. The room and toilet was clean. One can be suspicious when booking a room at this price. You definitely get great value for your money. The garden space had a wonderful mountain top view. My special request to have a dog with me was allowed. This was greatly appreciated. Always fun bringing him along. Departing was fairly easy. Instructions are clear. The area the property is in was also nice. It really is great value for your money so if you're hesitant like I was just go for it.
- Mary (1/5): We didn’t stay - Spring popping out mattress. Bed squeaking, not very clean. Extremely basic my partner refused to stay and we booked somewere else
- Kenneth (9/5): Very nice - I had a good time. The property was good for me.
- Mulvenney (8/5): Very good - Davide, the host, is welcoming and friendly. Took time to show me around the Property and let me know what is available in the local area. Being a solo traveller I appreciated him taking time out for me without being intrusive.
- Nora (10/5): A warm and welcoming home with everything you could possibly need. - Davide is a very warm and helpful host, he went out of his way to make me feel at home and provided lots of insider info about the local area and city centre. The house is very conveniently located for exploring and taking public transport, Grand Central Station is only a 20 min walk. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed. There was plenty of hot water and the kitchen is perfect if you want to cook. You will not find a better place to stay in Belfast for such a reasonable price, highly recommended.
- Noel (10/5): Exceptional - Davide provides a warm welcome and will provide you with information on tours and activities in and around Belfast. I would stay here again next time I visit. N/A
- Jane (10/5): Exceptional -

You can't get any better value for your money. Couldn't recommend it more, don't think twice, if available - book this room
- Stewart (10/5): Visiting friends in Belfast. The food and activities were good. A little cold on tourist bus. - Our host Davide from Italy and friendly/helpful, which makes all the difference. Very good price. Shop & bus stop close by. Can't think of any complaints, and left our host a gift.
- Matthew (7/5): Excellent value for money even though facilities were quite basic. - Excellent value for money, perfect location, quite near to motorways, good choice of take away food nearby. Shower on ground floor not ideal and only seemed to be one for whole house, had to wait for somebody to finish. No wifi and no milk in fridge for breakfast for morning.
- Rosemary (8/5): David is a great person and is a kind and social person . He has a good knowledge of local buses and helped me before my - The property is clean and tidy . My room was nice and quiet . I was happy .Maybe I would recommend wi fi .But it wasn’t essential for me
- Rakibul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aditya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amit (9/5): Perfect host, great location, would definitely stay there again. - The host is very friendly, and welcoming. Davide is a very good human being and treats his guests very well. WiFi was not available, unfortunately, but Davide helped out by sharing his hotspot when required.
- Elsin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Phill (10/5): I recommend. I enjoyed and I’ll go back there again. - The location was perfect because I always like a little bit of walking before reaching town centre. Shops and bus stops around. Davide was excellent and very dedicated to his hosts. He is a nice soul and makes the whole experience enjoyable. The house is neat and tidy. The rooms are small but I’m 6’’3 so it can play 😅. I definitely recommend and I’ll be back when I’ll move in Belfast again. The weather.
- Matt (9/5): Superb - Iris House is in a quiet neighbourhood near Falls Road, an easy, pleasant walk from the centre of Belfast. The house is very clean, and the room cosy and with a very comfy bed. The host Davide is super nice and welcoming. Would stay there again when I'm in Belfast.
- Sean (9/5): Superb -
- Cillian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nima... (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely room! The host was friendly and offered helpful tips about the area. The room was quiet with blackout curtains, providing a comfortable night's sleep. The location was peaceful, away from busy areas, with a nearby bus stop for quick and easy access to the city centre. I’d happily stay here again!
- Danielle (10/5): Excellent keep up the good work - Decent place value for money host was friendly Nothing all good
- Lucy (10/5): Lovely homely stay, very friendly host, warm and welcoming! - Homely and welcoming. Really clear instructions on arrival and whilst there. Such a nice host. He even went out to buy milk so we could sit and have a cuppa. Nice and warm bedroom. Everything I needed was there. Felt very safe, especially as a female sole traveller.
- Mark (10/5): Good stay and worth the price. - Feel likehome, and the landlord is very nice.
- Jake (8/5): Very good - Room was lovely, very comfortable bed, good bathroom Lack of Wi-Fi
- Jarosław (10/5): Exceptional - The host is amazing, a very kind person, ready to help and give advice. The house is well-kept, clan and warm. The kitchen is equipped with anything necessary and the walk to the city is very pleasant (and not as far as it seems). Everything was grand.
- Thomas (6/5): A Room in the Host's House, Great for a Short Stay - Davide was very friendly and easy to deal with. Very accommodating! The room felt secure, and there were some very nice neighbourhood cats hanging around outside! The self check-in was easy with Davide's clear instructions. It's very much "A room in a dude's house", which is fine, but was just not exactly what I was expecting. The neighbourhood feels a tiny bit sketchy. The room was hot, and had a plug-in scent device running which make me nauseous. The window was locked so I couldn't cool down/air out. The bed-linens had a bit of a musty odour, but it wasn't overwhelming. It's that smell when you leave them wet in the machine just a tad too long before drying.
- Adrian (8/5): Very good - Very sociable host, walking distance from centre (just!), homely feel, felt like being in 'real' Belfast. Great value for money.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carol (10/5): Perfect! Davide is so friendly and welcoming - Iris House is a lovely place to stay for a short break. It's a terraced house, so parking is a bit hit and miss. I travelled with 3 dogs and Davide was more than accommodating to their needs and welcomed us like old friends. Once arrived, we were shown around and then left to enjoy our stay with the house to ourselves along with the other guest. There are a flight of narrow and steep stairs to the room with the bathroom downstairs, but it's an ideal base for those able to use the stairs. I would definitely stay there again, I thought it was a great little place and would recommend it to others especially those travelling with multiple dogs! Five stars from me 😊 Shame there wasn't a microwave in the otherwise well equipped kitchen!
- Philippa (8/5): I was well satisfied with my stay. - The host was very friendly and helpful. The price was reasonable. The location is fairly near public transport. The rooms are small. My bedroom was fine for one person but would be cramped with a couple. The bath/shower and toilet are on the ground floor, bedrooms are upstairs.
- Aidan (10/5): Great stay and even better host. - Iris House was an amazing stay! Davide and the House was amazing right from the initial booking of the stay to check out. Check in was very easy and simply explained and flexible. Davide was super nice and kind and probably the highlight of the stay he was more of a new friend then a host and even showed me a few of his fav spots for a drink and recommended some great spots to go. Facilities were very clean and bed was comfortable. Although a little out of the main CBD the location is full of charm and the 15-20 min walk into town (following Davides suggested path was full of very intreating sights I probably wouldn’t have seen if I stayed in the CBD. Would defiantly stay again and highly recommend, especially for solo travels! Noting
- Leigh (9/5): Convenient - Very convenient Table in front room made place crowded. Would be better if it was a social space. Downstairs bathroom is not ideal, but old house
- Ewan (8/5): Very good -
