Guest Reviews
- Felix (10/5): Welcoming host with great knowledge of the park - The host, Alex, was so kind and welcoming and made us feel at home. At the same time, he helped us immensely with planning our days which resulted in us always having the best views, especially since he provided us with the locations of some secret spots!

Gibt keinen Supermarkt, man muss also zwangsweise dann immer Wasser dort kaufen.
- Aubin A (10/5): Super séjour! - A le mérite d’être le seul hotel dans le parc. L’Hôte m’a préparé un itinéraire optimal pour voir un maximum du parc et m’a donné une tonne de conseils qui ont grandement amélioré mon expérience dans le parc
- Javier (9/5): -
- Eduard (9/5): - By far the best idea to stay inside the park. Although the facilities are not luxurious, it is amazing to be able to get up early in the morning and visit the park from the inside. This way you can go the opposite direction of the crowds, and get a much better experience.
Even better, the sunset spot from this camping was the best thing of Zhangjianje.
- MATTEO (9/5): - Location perfetta nel parco, permette di evitare file e guardare il tramonto
- Carlos (10/5): - Muy bien!!!
- Margarita (9/5): Superb -
- Raisa (10/5): Exceptional - Alex goes above and beyond when it comes to helping the guests get around the city!
- Wuttikorn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michał (9/5): Superb - Location inside the park was amazing, the staff was very helpful and friendly Cleanliness wasnt the best
- Vittoria (8/5): Very good - It was so lovely to stay inside the park. Definitely recommend!! Of course, you have to deal with spiders and all sorts of bugs... but it is part of the camping experience. :) the staff spoke English and helped us a lot! Also the food was real nice 👌👌🌟
- Rodrigo (7/5): Great location inside the park - Great location inside the park. Helpful staff for tickets and park information. It is expensive for what it offers but understandable being inside the park.
- Andreu (10/5): Great stay - The location is very relaxing and we enjoyed it so much. We are able to get in the park sooner than staying outside. You can also stay longer to catch the last lights of the day (always between the park schedule).
The staff was very helpfull, we had the best recommendations we had in China. They also help booking activities.
Arriving on the place takes a time but they give you good info to find it. Also you are visitting the park while getting there. There are possibilities in case you dont want to carry your luggage The days you want to visit others like the canyon or the tianmen mountain..better to stay outside of the park in another hotel
- Raquel (10/5): Amazing and super helpful staff - Super nice staff, they support us before arrival already and made the stay a difference proving us super amazing tips on the park route. They also helped us buy tickets and arrange transportation before arrival.
Room was much better than expected and had private bathroom (in the booking it said it was shared so this was a great surprise). Clean room and comfortable beds, also the spot is amazing. We should have stayed longer! Not staying longer!
- Arnau (10/5): Fantastic - Amazing way to visit the park. Best decision is to stay IN the park, to avoid crowds and to take the itineraries the staff (alex) suggested. Kind and lovely staff. Don’t even hesitate to come! Thank you guys! Also sunset was fantastic! 🙏🏽 All good
- Fion (10/5): Exceptional - Great location inside the park. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and super helpful, assisting you with the planning of your route each day - special mention to Alex and Lu, we were lucky enough to go mushroom picking with Alex and it was the best experience of our trip. The food cooked every night was also great and deserves a mention Not a negative but a heads up for anyone thinking about staying in the tents - we stayed in the tents and it was fine but if you struggle with sleeping I would recommend getting yourself one of the rooms
- Nicolas (10/5): Loved every minute - I loved every minute of my stay!! The staff was amazing they gave me all the indications for the least crowded spots and helped me to get the tickets, you can see ALONE an amazing sunset and sunrise nearby because the hotel is inside the park! The food was great, specially the Kung Pao chicken. One of the best meals I had in China. I also met great people there!! Thank you!!
- Jianhao (10/5): Perfect location for exploring within ZZJ - Location of the hotel is located within the ZZJ Tourist Area. As far as I know, they are the only resort that is within ZZJ which gives them the perfect location to be travelling in ZZJ: when others are travelling into ZZJ; they will start from the base; going up and going back down. However, because we are the only few staying in ZZJ, we took the opposite route: going down; then going up. As such, when we took the famous elevator, there was ZERO crowd; which was perfect.
The staffs were hospitable and they helped us to plan our trip not just within ZZJ but also at ZZJ City (i.e. Tian Men Dong). We were really grateful for the team for going the extra mile, doing beyond what they can and not upcharging us. They even planned a surprised together with my friend by having a birthday cake delivered from the city to the mountain resort. Kudos to the team! The beds were a little hard but it may be just personal preference.
- Reehan (10/5): AMAZING - Amazing initiative! It's so rare to come across Western approaches to accommodation in China, but this place hits the spot perfectly. Loved the tents, the laid-back vibes, and the communal areas that allowed for plenty of socialising (I connected with other travellers pretty much instantly upon arrival). The staff (Alex, Robin, Carol) and volunteers are all very helpful and speak much better English than is customary in Chinese hostels. There's a decent restaurant with veg options and beers, and there's also a Western breakfast on offer in the mornings (which is something I was very, very grateful for after so much Chinese food). The setting is lovely - a gorgeous tea plantation deep inside the national park, with spectacular views a 20 minute walk away from the tents. It's well secluded from the horrendous tour groups, and feels like a slice of serenity amidst the chaos. Also, the free flow tea was a very nice touch! Honestly, this is probably my fave place that I've ever stayed in China and I'd recommend it without hesitation to anybody. Bear in mind that the hostel is deep within the park and no one's heard of it. It requires three buses and a cable car to get there from the entrance, which is a considerable effort - especially during peak tour group hours. Staff in the park can be very unhelpful, so it's stressful getting there. This is not the fault of the hostel at all, though, and it's totally worth it once you finally arrive! The only suggestions I'd have for the hostel itself would be to avoid having staff/volunteers using their phones without earphones (this is widespread in China, however), and to maybe clean the shared bathrooms more frequently. Other than that: it's perfect!
- Teja (10/5): very much nice :) - everything was super fine, especilly host was always so helpful. amazing food! /
- Marek (10/5): Exceptional - Property is in the heart of national park which makes very easy to access most of scenic locations.
- Mark (10/5): Exceptional - The staff are so helpful and the place is in the perfect location. Once you get there you see what i mean
- Victor (10/5): Best place I stayed at in China - just insane - This is one of the most magical places I have stayed at. Secluded tea plantation with a private sunset viewpoint. Friendliest staff I have met, thank you Robin, Mai and Carol! There is a great restaurant and delicious tea.
- Solenn (9/5): Superb - The location of the camping gave us a great experience for our visit of the parc.
We were able to visit the parc for 3 days and see most of its beautiful paths thanks to the advices of all the team. Thank you all !
Of course we enjoyed the delicious food, mostly the morning noodles !
And we don't forget the amazing sunset we watched right behind the tea fields. Gorgeous !
- Ewa (10/5): Amazing place with the heart of national Park. Comfortable rooms and very helpful staff. If you want to have unforgettab - Great location, extremely helpful and friendly staff -
- Kowal (10/5): Exceptional - The staff is amazing. They took care of us from the very moment we booked our stay. The pick up from the train station was arranged and we didn't have to worry about anything. We felt as if we visited friends, not a hotel.
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emily (9/5): Nice to stay Inside the national Park - The staff was super nice and extremely helpful
- Mahyar (5/5): Passable -
- Joanne (9/5): Warm despite cold weather - Whether you are an international traveller or otherwise, this is a good choice of stay. The management staff, especially Carol, speak English well and had been very helpful in purchasing tickets to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park on our behalf as well as helping us to navigate into and around the park. We couldn't see the sunset as it was foggy. We also chose to upgrade our tent to a room; that was a good choice because the rain was storming. But in exchange was a night of good conversation with the staff, with all of us surrounding a table with burning charcoal underneath and tea in our hands. This is not your typical stay; it is rare to find accommodation up the mountain, let alone a camping site. I wish them all the best. The weather, but it is not in the accommodation's control. I suggest you come during non-rainy / non-foggy season to enjoy the scenery.
- Steve (10/5): Exceptional - The location is brilliant, so peaceful, surrounded by tea plantations and just a few minutes away from beautiful big view at the back where you can see the sunset over the Zhangjiajie scene. There are so many advantages to staying in the park itself as the park doesnt open early enough for the sunrise. Weloved the guest house food as well, very tasty and cheap. They had a coffee machine too. The staff are really helpful, gace great advice and they send a video explaining how to get there, it was very clear. They can arrange cars too.
- Romina (10/5): They made our experience in Zhangjiajie the best! - What was there not to like about this place! The staff are so nice, friendly, helpful, and attentive. The location is great! You are inside the park and to get there, you’ve got to travel through the park by taking a cable car and several shuttle busses. Just from the start you get to experience the magic of the park.
-The room is comfortable, clean and spacious.
-Since the camp is inside the park, there aren’t any convenience shops around it but the camp has a restaurant managed by chefs. They cook delicious traditional Chinese meals. We loved the tomato and egg, the stir fried vegetables and the Chinese bacon with bamboo root. Try them!
-The staff helped us plan our itinerary and booked our tickets to Zhangjiajie National Forest and Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. Carol contacted me and stayed in touch a week before our arrival and guided us on how to get the camp by proving us the directions in English and Chinese. The whole team were so nice. They also shared their tea with us and treated us like family.
The camp is in a tea plantation, so the experience is so unique.
-They’ve got lots of projects going and great ideas on how to improve this place, so it’s very exciting how this place will flourish in the next years. Best wishes! My companion 😂
- Val (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erin (10/5): Super experience. - Incredible place, very special you stay inside the park, the campsite was clean and nice atmosphere. they can speak fluent English with great service for international traveller. I will book here again for next summer holiday.
- Mason (10/5): The unique location and experience inside the park -
- Shay (10/5): Best choice for Staying inside the Park - The location is awesome, no crowded, clean and cozy place. Robin was very friendly and helpful with planning the route about the National Park. We love everything and highly recommended!
- Kaleb (10/5): A Paradise In the National Park - The campsite is” best of the best”, which is on the top of Avatar mountain inside Park. And We were so lucky to saw the incredible Milky Way. The campsite was a hidden paradise. And staff Alex and Robin can speak very good English and guide us to some amazing secret place. What a amazing Stay.
- Anonymous (10/5): Friendly people and valuable info for sightseeing spots - I love everything about this place. Location was great. The staff has been so helpful, helped us book the entrance tickets before we get there and guided us how to visit the park. They have a lot of info about the Park,Glass bridge and Tianmen mountain. It was excellent for planning trip in Zhangjiajie Nothing
- Anonymous (10/5): Perfect Stay and Great Service - I love this place, and the most relaxed I’ve been in half month in China. The place was absolutely quite. The Staff was extremely caring and gave us explanations to plan our tours for the park. They help us book the book the tickets for the park and transportation from West train station. Overall perfect palace to relax. I will definitely recommended this place.
- Manan (10/5): Amazing camping-like experience - Location, location, location!! You simply can’t beat the experience of staying inside the park. Would book again in a heartbeat!
- Daniel (9/5): Hiking and Camping to Your Heart's Delight - I can't describe how great it is to be able to step out of the tent and see the mountains right there. Being in China for many years I have missed being able to camp. This stay was finally able to scratch that camping urge. You are in nature! The campgrounds are inside of the park, so you are able to get an early start ahead of the crowd for your hiking adventures. They provide everything you need. Mattress pad, sleeping bags, small pillow, and the tent is already set up for you. If I ever come back to Zhangjiajie I will be staying here again. Thank you for the amazing experience. The tent was a bit musty, but its camping. What do you expect?!
- Benjamin (9/5): Superb - As the camp is inside the park, it's a perfect location to explore the national park. The whole staff was very helpful in every way. From tips for recommended hiking tours to other stuff. I really enjoyed my stay.
- Lavin (8/5): I recommend knowing some basic Chinese or bringing a translator to be able to navigate easier. - It's a tent in a small campground area at the south entrance of the park (Wulingyuan scenic area). Easy access to other parts of the park. The people I booked with were communicative, helpful and polite. Signs have english/russian/korean translations. No other campgrounds to stay here. You're not allowed to sleep in the park outside the campground. Areas of the park are under heavy construction and police will question you if you are wandering near there. Being near the entrance, there's heavy foot traffic and lights from nearby shops which might disturb your sleep.
- Patricia (10/5): We had fun on our stay! - Zhangjiajie National Forest Park Camping is a gem that allowed us to admire the stunning rock columns of Zhangjiajie from afar at night. It’s just a few meters away from the start of the trail to Golden Whip.
Robin provided excellent service, with impeccable English for seamless communication with foreigners. The accommodations are what you would expect when camping out, including a tent, sleeping bag, inflatable pillow, blanket, and a camping lamp. Additionally, the campsite offers the convenience of hot showers, a washing machine, and electrical outlets. The food they served us was really good. They also have a cafe that we didn’t get to try. Limited payment options
- Eledir (10/5): A gem inside of the park… they care about people - This place is a gem, inside of the Park and with easy access to all scenic areas. Just beside a river, you sleep with the calming water sound. I has wonderful moments with all the staffs, and had the best coffee and Jasmine coffee ever! Hospitality and generously ate the best words to describe the lovely experience. Already recommended to friends and hope to return in the future. Thank you for all!
- Muhammed (10/5): Exceptional - The camping site was literally awesome, the view from the camping was amazing, the october weather was good, its not too cold, and the best weather. It was fun together to be with my friends, we really enjoyed a lot. The washroom was shared, but still was ok
- Grazyna (10/5): Exceptional - Unique experience, stunning views and very kind and helpful staff!
- Antonia (10/5): Exceptional - I had the pleasure of staying two nights at the camping spot inside the Zhangjiajie Forest Park. Being the only accommodation within the park itself, it offered an unparalleled immersive experience in nature. Kudos to the friendly team who ensured our stay was comfortable. Their facilities are top-notch, and I especially enjoyed the cafe on-site, which serves delightful milk tea. Highly recommended for those seeking a nature friendly place within the park!
- Maruan (10/5): A Heavenly Retreat in Zhangjiajie National Park - My stay at the cozy camping site inside Zhangjiajie National Park was nothing short of spectacular. The natural beauty surrounding the camp provided a serene backdrop that complemented the warmth and friendliness of the staff and fellow campers.
Renting a tent was a breeze, and to my delight, it came fully equipped, ensuring a comfortable and hassle-free camping experience. Moreover, the breakfast offerings were delicious and hearty, the perfect way to kickstart a day of exploration in the park.
What truly sets this camping site apart, besides its prime location, is the genuine hospitality. It's a haven for those seeking both adventure and relaxation. For anyone contemplating a visit to Zhangjiajie, I highly recommend immersing yourself in nature by staying here. It's an experience you won't soon forget.
