• Renate (7/5): - The host is super super friendly and helpful. Monkeys and slots in the garden! Location is next to the sea. View is beautiful. 5 min walk to Cahuita National Park. Shops, restaurants are all within walking distance. This hostel is a budget option with 3 (double/twin) rooms. There is 1 shower and 1 toilet and they are in the same bathroom. Kitchen and bedrooms are small. Great for butget travellersz

• Levent (4/5): Dishonest place - Volunteer staff was very nice, and a nice garden I didn’t like the fact that the property owner has been kind of dishonest with his business mentality. So I was gonna book for the following day and there wasn’t any available on booking.com and I asked him if he had and he told me yes and since it would be a booking out of Booking.com, in which case he wouldn’t pay commission to Booking.com it was supposed to be cheaper and he told me that I was gonna pay equivalent of 16 USD, which was 7200 colones but he said 8000 colones which would be 18 USD the original price and when the first day I paid in colones, I paid exactly as the Google converter said which is a converter that is constantly updating itself and gets it data from the big reliable companies not from the unreliable owner who think knows better than multi-checked , multi updated google rate , so when I asked him why he wasn’t charging me as the same way he did the first day ,he contradicted by himself and his actions and told me that he doesn’t depend on Google, but he depends on his own exchange rate and I asked him why did you depend on the exchange rate of Google the first day he just repeated the same thing like a parrot without being able to give a logical explanation so he basically lied on my face and try to rip more money by trying to be smart not paying commission to booking.com by getting the same money that is written on Booking.com, which would include the commission. he also makes work some volunteer people in bad conditions make them stay on tent in the garden, not giving them any food basically he makes those people work for a tent place on the garden and for a toilet , and those people have been really nice to me and very nice people that deserve better conditions. I mean, I don’t care about the two dollars but the problem is that dishonest way of making a business, trying to rip off more money out of people trying to be smart.

• Kayley (10/5): Love this place - The location is right on the ocean. So peaceful and relaxing listening to the waves. The staff was wonderful and helpful and the facilities themselves are comfortable. Bonus, sloth in the tree right outside of the room! All was great, the tea kettle could use an update, but that's the only note I have.

Le gérant était très gentil. La cuisine commune est petite mais très fonctionnel! La chambre est également un peu petite mais en soit, confortable! L’extérieur avec les tables et hamacs sont également un grand avantage !

• Irina (9/5): Little paradise in the center of Cahuita - Chill and quiet atmosphere, super friendly owners who always tried to help and answer all my questions. The room is very simple but was perfectly enough for me : good value for the price. Sounds and views of the sea are fantastic. You can spot some cute animals including sloths in the garden! National park is a 5 min walk. In general : It felt like home. Kitchen is simple and has everything you need including Costa Rican coffee maker:) I will miss this place a lot!!!🥹💜 I’d suggest making bigger sign “no smoking” as some guests seemed to ignore or not see it. Otherwise it’s PERFECT💜🦥🌴🦜

The rooms may look a bit dreary in the pics but it's honestly not that bad! The guys running the place are super nice! And there's still a sloth in the yard.:)

La situation de la Case...: très proche de la mer, des plages magnifiques à deux pas, l'entrée du parc a 200m, les possibilités de balades... Le jardin et le bruit des vagues... La sérénité, le calme, la gentillesse. La proximité de nombreux sodas et restaurants . Le Parc est magnifique (entrée payante sous forme de dons) : superbe découverte. L'emplacement de la voiture juste à côté de la chambre. Un très très bon séjour. Parfois un retour d'odeur de la cuve de décantation des excréments lorsque a l'extérieur pour se restaurer. Il y a d'autres tables et bancs plus éloignés de la cuve.

• Carreño Castillo (9/5): Inmejorable ubicación y mucha calidez - La ubicación es perfecta, con el sonido del mar que está a solo pasos y Playa negra muy cerca. El espacio tiene la mano y el cariño de Luis y Kaleb. Me sentí cómoda, con lo necesario para cocinar y descansar. Los anfitriones son muy amables y están muy pendientes de mantener todo organizado y limpio. La relación comodidad y calidad -precio es muy buena. Tienen buen wi-fi, lo que resulta muy importante. Lo recomiendo y volvería sin duda. Gracias chicos por los buenos días. Aunque la cocina tiene lo necesario para resolver, una actualización de cacerolas vendría bien. También un ajuste de mosquiteros. El de mi habitación tenía sus huequitos por donde se colaban los bichos. Por lo demás todo muy bien.
• Isabelle (9/5): Exactly what we were looking for - Really nice garden - we saw a sloth very closely!! And many coconut trees. The owner was so kind as to open them for us to drink the coconut water. Also the location is very close to many restaurants/stores and to the national park Cahuita.

• Genro (9/5): Basic cabin in a traditional house next to the waves - It's a decent affordable place to spend a couple of nights while visiting Cahuita National Park. The house is old and traditional, built on stilts, with three small cabins (rooms) on the other side. The shared bathroom and kitchen were awesome. The property has a lot of potential: it's full of trees and right by the ocean, with monkeys something passing through. It could use a bit of love and care to make it more comfortable for relaxing (more hammocks would be nice!). Yet, the owners are super friendly and dedicated to renovate the place. The only downside was the number of mosquitos due to the rain and the lush vegetation combined. It made sitting outside at night not that enjoyable. You need a cover and a fan when sleeping as the tiny mosquitoes can get through the net. Still, I did enjoy my three nights there and would come back!

Everything is beautiful, made with many details and love, I saw a sloth and many monkeys in the garden, everything is very natural and still clean. I booked for 2 nights, ended up staying 4, the host has been sooo nice and helpful. The room is cozy, there is a mosquito net around the bed. I felt very safe and comfortable, the place and the owner really gave me a Home-Feeling :-) And waking up to the sounds of the waves is a big plus of course!

The location is dreamy, right on the water, and the individual cabins alongside charming common areas provide a great mix of personal space and chances to socialise. Travelers are in good hands with this very kind host.
• Jeanine (9/5): Right by the ocean and has all you need - Lovely little hostel right by the ocean. The owners were very friendly and helped me a lot. Nothing about the hostel itself. Only the amount of mosquitoes around made it a bit less comfortable for me. Luckily the room has a mosquito net.

• Alex (10/5): Exceptional - For me, it's the best location at Cahuita! Very cozy, peaceful place. Main wonderful moment - roo. I had at the orner room that had an ocean view from both windows. I was able to hear waves all the time - it is very relaxing and unique. At Casa Mamré works very polite and hospitable people, thanks for their service and attention to detail! Everything was very clear. It was very pleasant 10 days for me ! I would highly recommend this place! Straight line from the home, 8 min walk is a National Park with Playa Blanca, from the other side of the home, like 3-5 min walk is a Playa Negra with black sand on it. A few minutes from home is a bus station for all directions (Mepe) and near it is a grocery store Super Negro that accepts bank cards as payment. I so love that home, thanks! ❤️
• Giorgia (8/5): A little paradise in Cahuita - Casa Mamrè is a little paradise in Cahuita! The location is excellent, right by the sea, with a spacious garden perfect for relaxing or working on the computer while surrounded by nature. Our room was small but very comfortable and spotlessly clean, as were the shared bathroom and kitchen, which were always well maintained. The host was incredibly kind and helpful, providing us with all the necessary information to make our stay perfect. An ideal place for those seeking peace and comfort just steps from the ocean. Highly recommended! 🌿✨

• Doreen (10/5): Great stay - The accomondation is directly at the coast, therefore you can fall asleep listening to the waves. The mattress was comfortable, it was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The owners are very lovely and helpful, they helped us so much when we had problems booking a flight. Everything was great! Maybe just the wifi was only available in the room but not outside or in the kitchen, but that was not a big problem. The room is really small, but you don't spend much time there anyway and the weather is great, so you can always sit outside.

It's a great place to relax and slow down, located just next to the beach (You can listen to the waves in your room. 😀 There are good vibes in this location. 🤗 There's as well an inviting area with hamocks outside and the possibility to cook over the fire. The room and nice half-outdoor-kitchen is simple, clean and has everything you need. To the busstation or entrance of the national Park it takes only around ten minutes to walk. Luis gave me a warm welcome and could give me some helpful recommendations for discovering Cahuita and information about the public transports for my further journey. It didn't bother me, but the fruits that fall on the roof from time to time can be frightening. If I'd return to Cahuita I would stay there again.
• Jiménez (10/5): Exceptional - Everything is near to visit, very special place and is very calm. You can see animals around the property and just stay in front of the beach and take a relaxing time. Amazing place!
